Shark Bait (PoisonousIvee/Mr.Aznable)

That was new. Had she ever called him that before? "Baby..." He repeated softly and he shuddered hard, "Oh, Sereina~~"

He quieted down for the next few hours, daydreaming about all the things he would do to her when they were officially married. On the horizon, she could see the tall extravagant castle that housed the royal family. Relief washed over her, they were so close to true freedom. But the closer she drove the wagon to the gates, the more she saw figures blocking their path. Cestradae and humans formed a line blocking the way to the gate.

"What?" Gio was up instantly, peering out to see what had upset her. He beared his pointed teeth and snarled. "Terrma. That son of a bitch."

"We.. we could.. try to run through them..?" She asked. "Or.. turn and run again.." she said. She was trying not to give into panic and despair.

"Sereina...I'm going to give you an opening and I want you to push the horses as hard as you can. Get through the gate." He said as he moved to climb out.

He grinned, an unsettling sight for anyone else, but not for her. "We're going to grow old and dry out together, remember~? I would never lie to you~"

He jumped off the wagon and rushed at the soldiers at an amazing speed, launching forward and sinking his teeth into the throat of a human and using the momentum to throw the corpse into the closest Cestradae. They focused on him, swarming toward him and allowing Sereina the space she needed.

Sereina charged ahead, into the gap he was making. It was desperate, and she was hoping she would either see him again, or the both of them would meet shortly in the next life.

There were screams, both of anger and of fear. Gio ignored the blades that tried to pierce through his hard scales as he took the lives of his people and the humans who dared join them in their attempt to capture him. He was covered in blood, eyes wild as he looked to make sure Sereina would make it to safety.

He smiled at her, his muscles relaxing at the sight of her. She would make it, he knew she would.
"Gio!!" He turned, the soldiers stopping dead as Terrma finally made himself known, angry and fuming, "You're coming back to the sea, one way or another!!" Gio stared at him before looking to see how far the gate was. He could make it. He looked back at Terrma, scowling.
"I'm not leaving, Terrma. You'll have to kill me before I leave Sereina's side." He told him. The young king was shaking, only growing angrier.
"Then so be it."
