The Art Thief's Obsession (LunarWolf and Guardian Angel)

Nate and Max nodded their heads and then Nate pulled his work phone out and started to record so that they had a digital recording of what she was saying "when ever you are ready Luna"
 
Luna had gone down there with the intention of telling them what had happened that night although now she was just clamming up all over again, and was just hiding behind her brother burying her head into the back of his jacket. He could feel her trembling all over again which had him rubbing her back gently. After that he was just speaking in a soft voice, "Luna why don't we move the chairs, sit and face me. Pretend that they aren't there. Tell me about that night."
 
both men remained calm and they didn't speak giving her the sense that they weren't there and that she was alone in the room .if she wanted to talk about the night her parents were killed then they would listen to her
 
Luna was just looking at her brother for a moment before she was nodding her head and shifting how she was sitting, and he was turning so that he was fully facing her. After a brief moment in time she was telling him what had happened that night. If the detectives had questions they wanted to ask then they could just write them down and Nox would ask them. But right now Nox was just letting his sister speak and asking his own questions now and again, helping them get more information.
 
the two men wrote their questions down as they came up with them and handed them to Nox so that he could ask her the questions as he saw fit. the fact that she was talking about that night at all stunned both men but they were glad she trusted them enough to tell them what happened that night so that they could work on finding the killer of their parents.
 
For the most part Luna was toning out the fact that the men were even there, although there was a bit of wavering in her voice now and again when she did see the movement from them, but for the most part she just focused on her brother. For the time she was alright talking about it - the before the murder anyways. Although when it actually came down to speaking about how her parents had been killed - that is where she was choking up some and just shaking her head a bit. No those memories were rushing back and Nox just reached out to hug her gently and was just gently shushing her, reminding her that she was safe.
 
Luna was just taking a breath with her brother and was soon enough continuing to tell him more about what happened - more of the story that even Nox didn't know about.
 
Nate and Max did their best to remain as still as possible and hoped that her retelling of the story gave them some more leads to follow so that they could get justice for their parents
 
Nox just listened to his sister before he questioned, "So mom and dad were killed because they didn't comply with what the killer was wanting?" This had Luna giving a small nod before she spoke in a soft voice, "He wanted the money they had stashed away in the safe... They refused to give it to him. Dad told him that..." Her voice quivered before she was stating that their father had told the killer that only when he was dead would he get the money. This resulted in the killer shooting him square in the center of the head. Yet talking about it all over just had her putting her hands to her head and over her ears - her knees just going up to her chest. It was almost as though she was reliving being there at time. It really gave the men a bit of insight as to how she more than likely had been hiding under that table, just trying to stay as quiet as possible.
 
Nate and Max looked at Nox and gently shook both their heads silently telling him that if he could get more they would appreciate it but if he didn't want to push her he didn't have to as they could both tell that she was terrified
 
Nox was just watching his sister for a brief moment in time as she sat there on the chair with her knees to her chest and her hands over her ears but she was looking at him, which told him that she hadn't closed her eyes. Perhaps too afraid to close her eyes - and was even more witness to what had happened. Although there was a look in her eyes that told him that there was something more to it. "Luna. What else do you remember?" he questioned her after a moment. No a lot of her memories from that night were fragmented - so after seeing her father killed there wasn't much she really remembered. She had gone into shock. This had her looking at Nox fully before she spoke in a soft voice, "Don't hurt her." This had him confused and then it dawned on him at that point in time; the killer had at some pointed ended up spotting Luna and their mother had picked up on it. That explained why she had taken two gunshots rather than the one, and why her blood had been found near her husband and then closer to where Luna had been hiding. She had been standing next to her husband and took a gunshot to the chest and still ended up moving so that she was between that of her daughter and the killer, despite bleeding profusely and being in pain. Protecting her child until the end.
 
Nate and Max watched and waited to see if she was going to say anything else but it also worried them as she was an eye witness that they had left alive and both were worried that they would come back to target her
 
No while Luna wasn't able to explain anymore, just seeming to go into more of a catatonic state once again Nox was explaining what dawned on him. "The reports stated that our mother's blood was first found close to our father.... but her body was found nearly ten feet away. From what I'm understanding is that the first shot she took to the chest was when she was next to our father and the killing blow was when she moved to place herself between where Luna was hiding and the killer. The killer spotted that she was there and our mother moved in the way." he was speaking after a moment in time. That would explain the odd placement of her body.
 
Nate nodded and then looked at Luna and spoke softly "your safe little one there is no need to be afraid" he then looked back at Nox and spoke "we will update the file with this information as it will help us get close to finding the killer I am sorry that your sister had to go through all of this"
 
Luna didn't seem to even be listening to anything that was going on around her at that point in time, her hands just over her ears as though to continue to try and shut everything out. No she was definitely in a shut down state at that point in time and it was definitely going to take some time to get her out of it. "I have more information that I recall from when I arrived to get her but.... I really don't want to say more with her here in this state." Nox was speaking after a moment in time as he was gently rubbing her shoulders and speaking to her in a soft voice as well.
 
Nate nodded his head "we will leave you two alone while we get her statement transcribed" Nate Looked at Max who stood up and headed out of the room before him leaving the twins alone so he could calm his sister down
 
Nox was just watching the pair of them leave before he was speaking to Luna, assuring her that it was just them in the room at that point in time. She did seem to be uncurling a little bit and he was taking a sketchbook and some colored pencils out of his bag to place on the table next to her. No he knew that being able to draw or sketch would help her, even if a little bit. It would allow her to somewhat get her mind off of it the situation at hand. Especially if he gave her a theme or an idea of something to draw. "Draw me a picture. Remember when we were younger and we would pretend the tree house was a castle, you were the fair princess, and I was your valiant knight." he was speaking after a moment in time which had her looking up a bit more.
 
Luna was working on the sketch with the idea in mind that her brother had given her. She was working on drawing a castle then she was going to draw the pair of them as a knight and princess.
 
It took Nate and Max a while to transcribe her statement but once they finished they printed it out so that she could sign it. they wouldn't ask her to read it over as they didn't want to trigger her again
 
When they walked into the room again they would just see that Luna was currently sketching at that point in time and seemed to be in a far better mood than she had been.
 
Nate looked at Nox and then spoke softly "is she up for looking her statement over and signing it?" Nate didn't want to push her to much as he didn't want her breaking down again
