I'm wanting to know how many people are experienced with and interested in Shadowrun 5e.

I have the hard copy (thanks, Skeith) and was wondering if I should learn it soon and get a game going here.
 
It depends on if any of the above people come back, but no. No pitches nor has anyone expressed preferences.

Tumbling brainstorm of assorted ideas!

Red Dot: A satyr girl gunslinger adept who goes itno Shadowrunning to emulate her missing (dead?) Father. And is trying to earn the respect of the other orcs, who think she's not as strong or tough as a proper ork--and too pretty. Her signature--liker her father's--is a pair of machine pistols that use old fashioned red dot laser sights instead fo UV ones that can only be seen by the one with the smart link.


A spellcasting dwarf girl from small town West Texas with a long blond ponytail, but I don't know what to do with her.


A dwarf girl adept who uses a whip to great effect.


Or a skater girl....

Or an archer with enchanted arrows...

Or an adept street rat who is very creative with his slingshot.

Or 'miss lucky.'

Or just someone who has cyber implant claws wolverine style. (Might be an orc too.)

Or for a relative newb who's still quite a powerhouse (and male): Troll mystic adept Shakespearean actor with a staff? Maybe fairly recently homeless on account of being booted out by his home corp?

The idea has you as not necessarily the high end, but definitely on the upper end of the 'lifer' runner. You're still throwing around skill and 'ware that would amaze the hoi palloi, and even small groups of HRT are in danger. You're just not so high that you can break waves of HRT for the really scary stuff to come out (yet).
 
Have you hit your player cap yet? I am asking because I do have at least one Elf mage/shaman character on my computer, and I haven't really got to use her in a game yet, and would love to use her.
 
Well honestly she had something of a smuttier leaning to her, that said I still input her skills and attributes where it counted, like having Spellcasting and banishing at 5. Her addiction, I don't really know if could really count as one, since most of the time how the game handled addiction was purely substance abuse addiction. Her mentor spirit was the seducer/seductress, so with that I gave her spirit affinity with spirits especially because they tend to be the spirit used with illusion spells, or at least through the tradition I was looking at which was one of the base ones. For this RPG I could tone her down to being sensually, and anything more racy could be handled in PMs. her Runner handle is Siren. I'll go and see if I have any decent pics for my ideas of her.
 
Depending on the kind of non-substance addiction, it could be modled as a Dependant, Poor Self-Control, Compulsion, or other thing.
 
Well originally it was sex addiction, it was something she had poor self control over, and something the seducer/seductress mentor spirit ends up weakening a person to. I distinctly remember that was as one of the disadvantages. However, I'd also be okay if we don't want to use that one and we replace it with something else, like a psychotropic or alcohol.
 
Sounds like fun to me, Count. Kind of a combination Face and Spellcaster can be really good at using flirting and out and out seduction to advance a plot. :) I've actualy seen fans use the term, "pornomance.r" :)
 
Adepts make good pornomancers, although you need mage access (either friend, luck with stats and Adept Spell, or being a very tightly accounted MysAd) to go and be the absolute silliest, most mantic pornomancer.
 
Yeah, I did put her con at 2 for now, with a +2 for seduction. Her charisma is pretty high as well, so charisma is used for her casting and such. I did run social adept, but not for very long, but he was more business like, not as fun as Siren. Man I realize now that almost all of my shadowrunners have been female. Asa is actually a lot fun, though I wouldn't mind writing her addiction as the problem it is, and is probably going to grow into.

Fasthands was my first, and while her archetype is technically smuggler, she was the team rigger for a 20th anniversary edition shadowrun games, and tons of fun to work with. Our GM could be a railroading dick, so when he was trying to make us pay a protection fee to both the Halloweeners and the Ancients. Fasthands piloted her semi through their favorite hangout. Good times, good times. She was an elf poser, I think though.

Then I had a face/decker character, and she was pretty great, got her entire team out of a bad situation in a BTL den, through a mixture of threatening and negotiating with the drug lord himself, I suppose I choose Wildcard as her handle, because she kind went the jack of all trades in that game, which worked well for that game.
 
Hi, I'm hoping it's not too late to apply for this game. I have an average amount of Shadowrun experience, I thought I might as well submit my character concept. Hopefully it doesn't conflict with anyone else's archetype.

Elf female Raven Shaman, focused on manipulation spells. For my background I thought of something along the lines of:
Liuli was a brat ever since she was a child. Her father, an EVO executive, always treated her like a commodity he should invest in. His trophy wife, Liuli's mother, spent her days drugged out of her mind and neglecting her daughter. When Liuli was tested to have a strong affinity to magic her father refused to sign her to magical studies - He already planned his daughter's life out. In his mind she'd grow into a beautiful elf maiden at which point he'll force her to marry his boss and earn a promotion. Liuli hated her family ever since. She was desparately yearning to learn magic, any magic. In her frustruation she tormented the people in her social circles, spreading conflicting rumors about her socialite friends and watching from afar as they turn on one another.

Liuli's manipulative ways attracted the attention of a trickster spirit - A perverted raven spirit that for a long time wished to trick an elf into laying eggs. The raven spirit decided to give Liuli a taste of her own medicine. He offered to teach her the magic she craves if she'd bargain away some of her knowledge. The elf girl hesitated at first, but after her first taste of spellweaving she no longer cared that she's forgotten how to speak italian. She kept wanting more and bargained her intellect away one piece at a time. She ran away from home when the raven spirit told her to. She let him arrange for her SIN to be burned. In the span of a few months she found herself roaming the back alleys of Orktown and searching for food in trash bins, no longer a corp socialite. A brilliant student in her former life, she didn't realize the raven spirit is slowly turning her mind to be more like an animal's. Yet even as her mind turned simple Liuli was content. Nothing competed with the feeling of magic running along her fingertips. She keeps following the raven spirit's mentorship, doing anything it tells her to. That's how she found herself working as a stripper in an Orktown dive, and from there was lead into a life in the shadows...
 
Nifty. :) What should I do then? Anything in my background that I should change? And do I simply post a portrait and a chummer file in the sheets thread?
 
If I had a different idea, I may say there's a bit of background to rework, but this works well with my plans. Yeah put a portrait and either a chummer file or sheet print out in the thread for me to evaluate.
