Seeking GM for Battle Harem style game

A trope I rather enjoy is the idea of the Battle Harem. A group of ladies are the skilled combatants and experts working for, controlled by, or otherwise led by a central male figure. Who naturally takes the chance to end up banging each and every one of them.

Whether it's the admiral and a fleet of gundam-piloting ladies, a summoner calling legendary female warriors, or the male heir to a clan of kunoichi, the male usually treats the girls with actual respect and care as he values their abilities and companionship as opposed to some harem setups where the guy just sees them as interchangeable holes. The girls are typically implied to be running the risk of rape or worse if they lose in battle, but this would be the negative, bad ending that only happens if I screw up instead of the point of the game.

The general idea I had then was my controlling the female party of adventurers/mercenaries/soldiers/whatever during Battle and Adventuring segments so that the GM isn't creating and handling all these characters, while switching control to the male admiral/summoner/non-combatant faction leader during Story and Sexytime segments. Possible storylines, systems and settings are infinite in possibility, so I have a few basic setups shamelessly cribbed from various media below. I'm familiar with a large number of systems and don't mind learning new ones, so I'm on board for pretty much anything. Given the nature of this I'd prefer 1x1, but if there's enough interest of people wanting to play members of the Battle Harem I'd be open to turning it into a group game.

- Monsters and demons overrun the land, but hope appears in a man chosen by the Goddess to build an army against the darkness. But the Goddess, as one of Life and Love, chose a rather primal method of letting the man give women the power to fight off the demons.

- Any variant of the various Pokegirl concepts; capture and train female 'monsters' for battle.

- Powerful men require powerful security, and the Family has always trained the finest female bodyguards in the world. Their expertise proves useful in other areas as well, such as espionage and assassinations.

- Everyone knows some adventuring party members are squishier than others, and a particular wizard in training has powerful magic but would die instantly in a simple bar brawl. Naturally he requires a full party as they adventure through the lands.

I like the conflict between camps but I'm wondering who is playing the bad son? I'm not a big true love and romance kind of gal.

I like the general pitch you've provided, Tenshi. It's a classic setup for this sort of genre, and meets the typical cliche of the Harem King being a noncombatant himself. I think I'll want him to slowly gain wizard or other caster levels, mostly so that I can justify creating custom magical items for my girls and the like.

Iseldra and Karin are both indeed very sexy, though I'm also really liking Lea's look. Of those, my vote would be Iseldra and Lea.

LeaT also brings up a good point, in that if the group is interested I would be all for playing the 'bad' son. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of something about how he wants to revive his father in order to kill him permanently, conquering his way through the lands in order to build a single force capable of prevailing in the final battle.

If we prefer I'm happy to be the good son though. There's no reason he has to true love and romance all the girls, or that the true love they find is from him.

Also, a quick question regarding the character sheets and stuff. I'm happy to build the characters mechanically and provide assistance/instruction in how they work for combat sections and the like, but I would like to know how much input you all would like regarding the character creation process. You can give me backgrounds and an idea of what you want the character to be able to do and trust me to build it entirely myself, or I can try to give rundowns of what's available though it may take a fair bit longer for the back and forth.

Sorry to have been a bit late here, i am interested in participating and it might be fun to be a somewhat bad girl leading armies for my master. Not a theme i have often played but might be fun to try.

I love breeding to a point that no one beside tenshi cross so might be fun to breed my own part of the armies.

I might try a summoner or an alchemist.

@Logan: If you have the patience I would like to participate a bit in the character creation as to skills and such. It might be best to create a character creation thread for that purpose and I can begin to flesh out Iseldra and Lea to help build the skill base.. I'm also thinking we could begin to do some RP to help develop character interactions and personality. I think we would need a main thread as well if we are going to start developing our story.

For Nicole.

Think your average (but hot) nerdy grad student, except that study explosions. Nicole always has a spring in her step and a smile on her face, and is always willing to say hi.

So between LeaT and Emy that sounds like two votes for being the bad guys? Of course evil is relative, so I'm sure I'd be able to come up with some reason that we're on the moral side.

@Emy - Glad to have you!

@ LeaT - I'm happy to set that up once we have a place to do so, and can do the same for the others if you all would prefer. I agree that it may be best to move all this to proper game threads.

@Ilven - Works for me! Are you thinking of more of a sorcerer/wizard type, or something like an alchemist?

Gah...

I'd seriously rather run for the heroes! If that's a deal breaker for LeaT i can deal with it.

Logan, did you have some reason to not want to be part of the party? I had assumed your character would be the same level as the rest of us, and would be participating int he adventure right from the start, combats included? Especially since--with a full cast--there's no reason to take over all of our characters for combats?

Doesn't our story have a good and bad male character? Logan seems to be leaning towards the bad son so who would play the good son? Are the various girls going to be pitted against each other or are they all on the same team playing against NPCs? Nothing is really a deal breaker for me one way or another. But I'm not likely to play all lovey dovey and fawning over some hero. My girls will generally have their own agendas and need to be pulled into the king's orbit through charisma, force, coercion, trickery, or what have you. It will be easier to think of those mechanisms once we have some basic character definitions for the male character(s).

I wouldn't mind seeing the main male characters be a level or two above. Not invincible but clearly having a strong edge. I was interpreting non-combatant as spell caster type and not necessarily doing the 'dirty' work required for world conquest.

Are we playing a sort of 'permadeath' scenario where once a girl has fallen she needs to be replaced, or would we be resurrected by our patron? Again I can work with it either way but such things may affect choices in character creation and design. That and are we occasionally fighting each other?

I think the intention was I play the good son and the bad son is the Big Bad/NPC antagonist of the game. If the group was leaning towards it I am happy to play an antihero type with the "bad" son being more morally grey and having a good agendabut I'm happy to stick with good son. There's no need for every girl to be all lovey dovey, and in fact it makes things more interesting if not all of them are.

In other words I'm happy to be the bad son if the group wants that, but unless there is a consensus I'd go with the good son overall and would not at all expect every girl to be madly in love with me.

Regarding my character, I think I was still in the mindset of needing to run everything in combat which would make the Harem Lord himself a little redundant. But the general idea I had was someone who in a typical DnD party would be considered a support character. The wizard specializing in item creation, or the bard whi hangs back and buffs. Still a combat presence, but focuses on other tasks while the rest of the party (harem) gets in and mixes it up.

Oh. ^_^ The Game Master usually plays the antagonists.

I figured we'd all be on the same team. lol I might be extra jealous if the harem king had to non con the girls onto his side if that's kind of what you mean? :) (Would be fun in my book!)

Frankly I'm also up for the 'good guy' having to sometimes non con a girl into joining.

Ok. What about this?

Aroden's Heir has been studying magic for a few years, developing what is seen as a natural talent for enchanting items as well as enchanting the minds of others. Though he is ultimately a good man and would never do such a thing with malicious intent, the idea of controlling others undeniably excites him. This talent is in fact a manifestation of the power of Aroden, leaving him easily able to infuse others and items with power greater than his own personal ability.

Once he discovers his true nature and begins gathering a harem, the idea of bending women to his will in the name of this grand quest becomes more and more appealing. It's still something he avoids, but sometimes he just has no choice.

Depending on peoples kinks this could go anywhere from potential mind control to simply an in-character justification for why the girl stays with a man that might have assaulted her.

And my apologies Tenshi, my intention was that you would play the other son as the antagonist to our party. Sorry if I explained that poorly.

I was more looking for clarification than trying to push my 'vision' on the group one way or another. I do enjoy the idea of flawed heroes so I like the direction this is taking. So the harem will all be on the same side and I don't need to worry about subduing any of them (though that could be fun as well). I suspect there will be some rivalry between them. I could also see Lea doing some of her own seduction towards Aroden's heir, even while being manipulated herself. I'm still contemplating Iseldra's motivation for joining the harem. She might be tempted by powerful magical items, though a powerful male might be attractive as she considers herself superior to the male members of her enclave.

I also suppose characters could have an 'unpleasant' encounter with the bad son. Especially if the master is unwise in his choice of missions for them.

Alright, so I think we're all on board with me being the flawed hero Aroden's Heir?

I'll start trying to put together actual character sheets, though I'll likely ahve plenty of questions for you guys.

@Tenshi - Any specific character creation rules or houserules you want me to use? Rolling for stats or point buy? Starting funds for equipment?

@Ilven - Evocation specialist Wizard with lots of explosions, got it. When I have a bit more built I'll come back for details like skill choices, spell options, etc. Let me know if you want to explore other spellcasters like Sorcerer or Arcanist (Sort of a hybrid between sorcerer and wizard.)

@Emy - Are you similarly in need of support in building the character(s), or are you familiar with Pathfinder?

@LeaT - I can definitely start putting together an assassin-type dagger Rogue together for Lea and an archery focused Ranger for Iseldra, based on the brief descriptions and photos I have. Would you like to consider other class options like Slayer (hybrid of rogue and ranger) or Hunter (mix of ranger and druid.)

I don't know if they have similar builds to what I am used to but if possible I like to play Lea as more of a distance assassin. DDO (which I think is roughly based on DnD 3.5) has rogue mechanics that get their backstab and dexterity bonuses applied to crossbows. Lea prefers to kill at a distance as she is willing to kill for a cause but not necessarily die for one. Also would be skilled in traps and a blade if need be but would be secondary to a distance weapon. If that doesn't work for our game then I would go with a blade type killer probably using poison as well as stealth for quick kills or incapacitation.

Given the other players I'm not so sure Iseldra shouldn't have some melee combat ability, but clearly a bow would be a natural mix. I'd probably lean ranger/druid if you think that would work for the group as I think Slayer would be somewhat redundant with Lea's skill set but you might know best what you want from your harem ;)

Ooh! :) This is exciting!

Is everyone okay with it if the enemies have their way with the girls and try to win them over if they loose, rather than killing them? (Could do the same for Aroden's heir, too, with some dominatrix girls?)

I'll get together the character creation stuff now in it's own page. (I already got us an OOC. The name of the game is 13 keys.)

Level 4, 25 point buy. Think we should build them mythic teir one right from the start to keep it simple? Or apply that when it happens in the early story?

Our setting is Golarion, which I'll use to the best of my abilities. There maybe be some variables (like that dark elves aren't 100% undredeamable) but I'll try and be informed about that.

Speaking of which, does an ebony elf girl raised by the temple of Saranrae, dancing around with scimitar, flaming, and healing spells sound cute?

Yes!

Thanks Zeth!

This is coming together for me. Need to dig in the books more, but our story begins in the decadent failing empire of Taldor, where Aroden's Heir has been an apprentice wizard for the last few years. :)
