It seemed like only yesterday he had pinned her to the ground and raped her, and often they had fought about it. Harald had always one the arguments, being bigger than her and stronger than her. They had yield, hurt each other, and she had screamed in both anger and ecstasy. It was hard to see when the lines had blurred; between hatred and content, but somewhere in the past two months, they had come to a happy medium, relying on one another for more things than one.
Oydis would not admit that she enjoyed his company from time to time. His face, the sounds he made, his smell, the feeling of him inside of her, it was all etched into her mind. Love. Some might call it that, but she did not believe she was there yet, or if it was possible. She had only known she would still fight with him from time to time, and time to time she would want him to hold her as she slept.
Things in her life had changed drastically. The small woman lived beside him, in his hall, on his property, in his land..but she was not his slave, more his equal. He had taken her advice form time to time, and she had been given the opportunity to meet new people and see new places. Though, that one eyed Girl had come with them, only to insult her again. Oydis had never told Harald that, it was just small threats and taunts. Nothing she could not handle on her own. The seer in his town...was also different than the one she had been raised with. Nonetheless, the seer had acknowledged her questions. Oydis had not bled in two months, and she had tried hard to hide it. Yet...it was hard to hide things from the man, when the first week after taking her she had bleed. Now, she could feel her stomach turning.
Her pale hand was on side of the boat as she sit down in the back. The clouds were dark, menacing above. Thor. Would Thor strike his hammer on their trip? The time had come for the plan she had agreed to, to get into Earl Jom's Earldom and open the gates from the other side. The thought scared her, for not only was her life in danger, and she wondered how Earl Jom might react. Would he harm her? Or her stomach?
Oydis turned her head to look at Harald as he sat next to her. A smile crept on her lips when he spoke of not enjoying their separation, she too did not enjoy the idea of being thrown into danger. "You have nothing to fear. You've already told me time and time again you'll chase me down if I run for real." Oydis had her arms behind her back, a dress of gold and blue on her body showing off her features but not clinging too close. She had barely started to show, and she had avoided his advances on her for the past two weeks since she had. "I do not know who will be there..but I will try my best to get the gates open as fast as I can." Oydis reached her hand out, as the first drop of rain fell on his face. She grasped his beard, rolling it through her fingers. When the downpour came, she coughed, watching as the men on the boat stood up, grabbing a grey fabric above and pulling it out, typing the wool together to shield the boat and people from the rain. Oydis sat up, moving under the fabric to get out of the rain. She caught his question then, about her being pregnant. "How did you know? Did the Seer tell you?" Oydis had been careful not to let him know, she had wondered if he would not let her go through with this if she was. She looked at his smile her brows furrowing. "Well?"
