Rip greentext, I shall miss you, even though I only have a vague clue how to use color speech on this site.

Sheet for Vella Kain (subject to changes as needed).

Think I will have her speak in this colour.

If you are interested RPG-Girl we could likely work out some backstory between her and Daesha'vida?

Added in some things, still mostly just mulling over backstory ideas. For the most part, I'm thinking she hails from a Minor Noble family, and her information trading is part of her being a collector. Granted, she is obsessed with hidden and forgotten lore, but she views wealth as a means to comfort and security... and for status symbols. Still, grew up with privilege, and might come across as a bit of a spoiled brat.

And yes, she would try and dress up the party members in sexy outfits/uniforms if they get suckered into signing the employment contract she would prepare for them.... because while she wishes to free Twi'lek and Tortugan from slavery... she is fine with everyone else... but she's not an open bigot.

I think Bysk and Shamta would be great friends, at the very least, Tenshi. :) I'll try to have him done by the end of the night so you can decide for yourself.

Also I would find it hilarious if Daesha tries to sneak the party into some high-class joint, and has the party dress up to fit so, trying to convince them to pretend to be her slaves. XD

Uh oh. XD That's probably something Bysk would fall for, too. He's streatsmart, so he's not naive to reading people's character...but when it comes to business and contracts he rarely reads between the lines. Guess he'll be dropping the space suit for something Daesha-approved.

For starting equipment are you saying, "Be reasonable, and expect to loose anything you can't carry wtih you." ?

Or is there a credit total we should work for?

Basically everyone gets the money as it is described in the rulebook. That you can spend, keeping in mind to buy with all the rarity and illegal multiplier and also spend for the licenses... Of course I will let you count all the talents, feats, or skills you have at level 4. (But that means you just bought, or in the process of buying.) "Take ten." if there is a roll needed.

And while what you buy this way will be your own, in the start you can still have access to things that is in your background. Family home, friends starship, school library access, etc.

But as we proceed, you will be keeping only what you can, so able to carry what you own is preferable.

For the most part a joke, though she might try and sneak in some clauses like that from time to time... mostly because as she is a noble, she does see people from lesser social stations as something she can add to her collection. Granted, she would also see it as a responsibility on her part to care and look after her pets/possessions, and would hardly mind helping them with some 'hobbies'.

Also, I have to ask.... for the Force thing, Jedi or Dark Side? Because I do like the look/possibilities offered by Sith Alchemy.

For the Force... and because the Time Line (It being 19 ABY), therer are only Luke Skywalker and the Jedis he is teaching as somewhat out in the open Force "school". There can be lone masters, but just as much without a clear standing than Jedis/Sith. And while there are more other kind of Force Users, those are hard to find and even harder to join. And it is usually for life, from birth.

Sith Alchemy is a lost knowledge/skill/power. There are legends... stories mostly, without any real facts... But who knows, maybe some time you would find a trail to follow to somewhere... Be it a living (or dead) being with the knowledge, or just a Holocron...

Yes, part of her knowledge thing, she could have a Destiny that would let her seek out a Sith Tome, one that held in it's grip the secrets of their Alchemy? Because looking at some things, I already have ideas, plans and possibilities, for some rather minor things.... and maybe something that would help that Destruction Destiny. There was one working immortality ritual I know of in cannon....

It just needed a planet to fuel it and I'm just going to look at something to extend the lifespan a bit.

While you can choose a Destiny, like Destruction, or Knowledge seeking, or Learning/Teaching or whatever, it is I, the DM who helps the character - and the player - find out the concrete target of said Destiny. So, I thank you for the idea(s), but let me worry - and plan - about it.

Fair enough :p That said, just making the request, as I don't mind her going a bit.... Dark Princess. Not really a Sith, as she would not buy into their particular philosophy for the most part. Would mostly just focus on the Alchemy side of things, with maybe the Force Point Recovery being able to recoup the expended Force Point.... but still, aside from that, would still be a face and information broker, just a little... darker in some respects.

Nope. She's not going to develop any force powers, just use the Sith Alchemy, Sith Alchemy Specialist and Cause Mutation talents. She might let Vella browse her collection, add force powers to her suite... but her focus would be on the rituals and Alchemy.

Maybe, what did you have in mind?

Well as you are a collector and Vella has engaged nobles for knowledge on somewhat exotic matters (force knowledge largely surpressed by the empire for instance) she might know Daesha from there.

Seperately as they have learned much of the same things they could have some contacts in common on those topics.

On use the force, the core book mentions on page 77 that 'you can't make use the force checks unless you have the force sensitivity feat' - so if she wants to start down the path she might need to get sensitive (once they know and trust one another Vella might be able to help her with that).

Yup, part of why the entire Alchemy thing would be far down the road :) Need the Force Sensitive Feat, and a minimum 3 levels in Sith Apprentice... or just something like it. Really, all I want is Sith Alchemy and Cause Mutation with the possibility of using the Force Point recovery technique to recover the force point required to use said talents. Specialist would be nice, but optional.

On a fun little aside, Sith Alchemy does not need Use the Force checks.... unless the DM says otherwise.

And yes, I can see them dealing together that way, though some common contacts, been interested, maybe offered a job or two. And she could have sold some information to her, leads, contacts, book copies... though she would want fewer credits (mostly bribe expenses and her family funds cover most of that) and more information that Vella has available.

OK. Got some reading done on Force (Sith) Alchemy.

What you would need to have to be able to do it:

Force Sensitivity Feat (Jedi class has it, or buy as a Feat - but if you later multiclass into Jedi, you have to already have the Feat to make it possible...)

Force Use Skill (Which is fully separate from Force Sensitivity, but if you only has the skill, it is like a meditation skill, does not give you any force powers, but you can use the skill for "tricks" - just usually harder and longer, maybe spending a Force point...)

Dark Force User (Need to be both sensitive and skilled, and having at least half of wisdom of Dark Points.)

Then access to the Alchemy talent/feat, depending on if she has the Jedi class, or just went for the kill... Of course to be able to take this, you would need the approval of the DM, and also at least a little in-game quest to learn the BASIC of Force Alchemy.

Basically you can add the Alchemy as a help to any other process you are able to do, be it medical, technological, or crafting "Creation" (or recreation, grafting, changing, etc.)

Any kind of changes need also a lot of extra component, material, however you want to call it, making it cost around 10k credit per use - but it usually includes the material and equipment cost for the main process too, which are consumed - forever corrupted by the dark side. Some items or equipment could be reused for the same or similar processes, but more frequently than not, it is one use...

If you can't do a similar process on your own skill on your own power, then you need an alchemy "power" to do it for the better word. But you can learn a number of them, depending on how much other force powers you got.
As a Force Sensitive, it gives you a feeling for one.
As a Force User, you have 1+WisMod powers, and you can have those sacrificed/exchanged for just as many Alchemy "powers".
As an Alchemist, you also get 1+IntMod alchemy powers.
And as usual, you can spend extra feats to get more (3 smaller or 1 bigger Alchemy "power" / manipulation - which is the minimum you will have if you are able to take it).

What is the worst of it, you sometimes have to use up newly generated Dark Force points whenever it is needed for the process. So, you can't just spend the ones you have, you need to do something bad to get one for that ... as part of the process.
