Fuck. Alicia had acted on instinct, desperate to stand up for her husband. That may have not been the right choice in terms of safety, but morally it still felt like the right call. It would have been wrong of her to just stand by while these people acted like grown bullies. The way that they eyed her up sent a creeped out shiver down her spine, and as soon as Bryce opened her is mouth he was hit in the head. Things were quickly doing downhill - and Alicia had to shake her head. There was no way Ofelia would be treated like this at the ranch, there was no reason for them to be treated like this now.
They had no guns now, though - no knives, no weapons of any kind. They had no way to fight back and these guys had guns that they were more than willing to point at peoples’ heads. Even accidentally, it wasn’t that hard for fingers to slip and triggers to be depressed. People willing to point guns at others were generally prepared to follow through. Adrenaline started to course through her veins, heart pumping hard in her chest, as her hand clung to Bryce’s with a white-knuckled grasp.
She looked towards him, and the way she nodded at him said that she understood they had to do as they were told. When they didn’t start moving quick enough a man grabbed at her hand and tried to pull it away from Bryce - and she had to let go in order to try to pull her limb away from the stranger. “Get moving.” The two words were spoken with such seriousness that they didn’t have a choice, and as soon as the strong grasp on her arm was released both of the pair were shoved forward. They were being led in to the building, where who knows what would happen. Alicia could tell that these guys meant business, though.

The way that Nick reacted, apologizing to her, made Anna question if she had come off harsher than she intended. She hadn’t been trying to bother him, she wasn’t even bothered herself, and so she leaned to the side to press a kiss to his temple. “It’s okay,” she said quietly before pulling away. No point in letting the boy feel bad, he hadn’t done anything wrong. Whatever perceived wrong seemed to be diminished by the offer of marijuana, so life was still good. That was all that really mattered, right?
When Nick asked about Josh, it was Molly who spoke up from where she sat in a chair by the table. “Yeah, he went off shortly after Anna showed up to figure out some more about what’s going on,” she explained. “I haven’t seen him since and it’s been a few hours, so there has to be something going on… It’s bad, isn’t it?” Inside threats, outside threats - that was all this world seemed to offer these days. Anna hadn’t been able to give her many real answers at all, not that one could expect her to know the ins and outs of everything.
Everything about the future was up in the air right now. Would the two groups be able to find peace? Would one of them be forced to flee, or more people slaughtered? Molly had her own joint perched on an ashtray on her table, and with the kid asleep she had no problem smoking in the main room. The new threat was stressing her out immensely, whether she was voicing that or not. Anna didn’t worry for herself, but every person that she cared for was here. It didn’t matter what state she was in, she would fight to the death to keep those people safe.
