Asylum Underground

Something skittered around in one of the connected rooms, passing the door on its way. It was dark in the room; the lights had been left off. All that could be seen was a flash of movement and a small figure dashing off. There was a pause in the little clicks that Gied now recognized as tiny, fast, clawed footsteps, and then something peeked around the doorway, bright golden eyes glowing from inside. The hand that came out of the dark was only about the size of a hazelnut, but it was covered in thin, wicked sharp claws made of some kind of metal. They dug into the door like butter as it looked out at them.

Gied stretched in a far more languorous way than he should have been able to, given than a little walking jumble of blades was staring out at him from the darkness, waiting for him to show signs of weakness, but stretch he did. He crossed his legs and sat facing the door, a regular-sized grin plastered across his face. He knew this one as well. It was so small, no wonder it had made it inside unharmed. He held out his arms and made a gesture with his hands as if to call the little monster out, but it simply vanished back into the room. Gied stared after it, dropping his hands into his lap, carefully avoiding his own sharp fingers. "Guess it's shy."

She stared at the creature, and dropped her snarl. It was smaller then her, so it was harmless, claws not included... she went to sit back in her corner, but at the last minute saw how shiney the little creatures claws were... her eyes turned a bright blue and she started sneaking closer to the door, wanting to pick it up...

"It's not going to try and hurt us, right?" Gabriel asked Gied as Sebastian set him down again. he thought of Gied was acting a bit calm then they had nothing to worry about. The thing in the other room seemed small so, he wasn't too afraid. Gabriel went and stood behind Gied. He normally stood behind Sebastian but he felt as if Gied would know more about what was going on. The marking on Sebastian's body stopped moving and he seemed to relax a bit.

"Oh, yes, it might. Might bite, might claw, mighty mighty claws... sharp and strong. Itty bitty bitter skittering scamp. Cute pets, nice ones, more often bad. Gied likes. Vicious, unbreakable little bits." Gied clarified, or rather perhaps the opposite. What he meant was that these little creatures were highly dangerous and more often than not had a bad temper. The good ones made wonderful pets, though, and Gied was not afraid of them despite the metal of their claws and spikes being very difficult to damage.

Back in the other room, the little creature was back to running around, searching for something. It was ignoring the girl who was creeping closer to its hiding place, digging through piles of things it had apparently toppled over earlier.

She grabbed a piece of food on her way in and crouched low, holding the food at arms length, making clicking noises simmilar to its... She wanted to pick it up, no matter what the claws or teeth were like... it was shiney and adorable!

Gabriel crept closer to Geid, until he was pressed against him. " I...don't want to get hurt by it..." He said softly. Sebastian did not move because he saw no threat as of yet. He placed a hand on Gabriels back as if to say, if something did happen he would be there. Gabriel calmed down a little but did not move from his spot behind Gied.

The little metal creature was a rotating, swivelling, constantly moving mass of sharp edges and tiny body parts. It shredded whatever it touched without a care, because they were not what it was looking for... the clicking noises confused the creature, as it had no idea what could be causing them, until it spun its upper half around. Those golden eyes shone in the darkness again, illuminating the girl within its sights, and it moved on, out of reach, further into the room to ignore her. By now there were a good deal of scrapes in the cement floor, each about a centimetre and a half deep at the deepest parts. They led back to a hastily dug little hold in the corner of the room. It was a little triangle of a thing with far deeper gouges, as if the little monster had been purposefully hacking away into the room. It was completely lost to regular vision now, surrounded in darkness, but for those with vision that pierced the murky atmosphere, it was visible scuttling from box to box of stored food, spilling the contents wastefully in its attempt to find that one thing...

"No worries. Not worrying, worrying the little pest. He'll go away. Let him go away. Prickly little beast." Gied's warm attitude did a 180, giving warning to the other woman near the creature as well as the younger Gabriel. It had been fine when the master of this place was asking for the bitty bit's presence, but this girl was no God, no great power, not even very nice, and she wasn't asking but trying to draw it to her with a bribe. She didn't know what she was getting herself into. That bit of food would be of no interest to the Stelt.

((Note: Yes. Stelt, because I felt like giving it a name. I have decided there shall be more of them that appear at various intervals to cause trouble. XD Also, they come in many different sizes, so beware.))

She gave a sigh, her eyes shifting again... she tossed the food into the room, licking her fingers as she left it, looking around the room, putting a hand on her hip. "So where to from here, mes amis de chance?" she asked, ending it in french, since she couldnt think of the words in english.... she just wanted out of the food room now that that need had been met and to get out of here... she didn like the fact that she had been sent down here in the first place, there was nothing wrong with her... she had a job, a life, hll she even read books and knew multiple languages... how the hell did she get down in this hell hole anyways? And honestly, she didnt know who these people, or things, were, but she assumed since they havent killed her yet they must be at least a little friendly towards her....

"I do think we should go on a head. " Gabriel said as he agreed with the girl in front of him. "It's best if me and Sebastian get out of here as soon as we can. Down here, is alright...it suits us but....I want to be up there again. "Gabriel said softly. "Come on. You can show us the way right?" Gabriel asked Gied as he stood in front of him. "I could hold your...erm...Tail." He said with a small smile. He wanted to hold Gieds' hand but that would be impossible. "And Sebastian will protect us from anything bad. Big or small." After how friendly Gabriel was acting towards Gied, Sebastians ear twitched. His expression didn't change at all. He picked up the child, tucked him under his amr and started to walk away. "Sebastian! What are you doing?!" Gabriel cried as he tried he keep it from people being able to look up his dress. "You don't know where you going!

Gied started, his ears pricking and eyes widening. He scurried after Sebastian as he started to move in an attempt to prevent anything bad from happening. "No, no! Doors on. Locks on. Tricks and traps on! Slow, stop, don't! Gied leads, all is safe. Stay." He instructed, not waiting for an answer. He ran off toward the door they had come through again, where the control panel that he had been playing with before was, and made little grunting, growling sounds as he tapped in special sequences one after the other. Guests were such trouble makers!

She followed slowly behind, rather confused... "Uhm, i dont mean to be rude, but what do you mean by up there and down here...? Are we below the earth? Why would we be down here? Last i remember i was in the market picking up groceries..." she said stumped.... she had many black spots in her memories where nothing seemed to happen, but every time she ended up somewhere not where she was before.... This time was probably the worst next to under the river....

"Huh? You don't remember?" Gabriel asked as he tried to get out of Sebastians grasp. Sebastian had never kept a hold on the boy when he asked to be set down. Gabriel spotted a hint of dislike on the man's face. He wondered why his friend was acting so strange. It was as if he didn't like Gied, or at least he didn't like something. It couldn't be Gied he didn't like. Gabriel liked Gied. " You're in a underground asylum. Gied said he would show us the way out. And Sebastian must be a good boy and start listening to Gied more." Gabriel said as he looked at the man.

She started laughing "Your kidding right? This isnt an asylum.... Its some... undergruond development is all...." her laughter died as she looked around, and then at the three of them..."..this really is an asylum... holy shit, but im not crazy!" she said backing up into the wayy, something stabbing her in the back-- it was the spoon. She groaned "She did it again, and this time i swear shes got us into a bigger mess then ever... if i ever get my hands on her... Stupid sister... have you guys seen her? Shes my twin, but i cant ever seem to find her since the crash a while back...." she said looking at them, hopful.

Gied came back from the door with an impatient frown, glancing from one of his companions to the next. "Not crazy, just odd. All very odd." He contributed, regarding the female's reaction to the insinuation of insanity. For what it was worth, he didn't think any of them were really crazy. Crazy was relative. They were just outside of the realm of the usual. That didn't make them any more or less valuable as.. er.. whatever species they were. Pointing with one overly large claw, Gied tried to urge them forward. They had a long way to go, and any number of Stelts on the way. Those things always moved in tiny, voracious packs. "Go. That way. Waaaay that way. Up and out and away."

Gabriel didn't feel like talking to the girl too much. He found her much to strange. " No, I haven't seen her. Come along, follow Gied. He'll show us the way out." After he spoke, Sebastian started forward to follow Gied. Sebastian put the boy down, and once he did, Gabriel walked up to Gied. "How long to do you think it will take us to get out of here?" Gabriel asked. " I mean, that girl doesn't seem to be fit to be done here. She is a bit....off but there are dangerous things down here, right? She doesn't have anyone to protect her...."

She scoffed "I dont need someone to protect me, and if i did, you guys would help out at least, right? So i got plenty" she said with a small smile "Though i dont like the odds if shed turned yuo guys against me..." she said quietly

Gied shook his head. "Nobody fits. All different, never same. Never fit. Never fight, not for lady; not for man, and not for girl. Fight for Gied is no fight at all." Gied prattled off. A normal person by now might wonder if he was just stringing words together with the semblance of meaning by using words that fit together. Gied did not help to remove this feeling with his easy attitude and casual demeanour that favoured all people equally. "A little on, a light off, a little light lies. Close your eyes." Gied rhymed as they approached the end of the hall they had made their way into after leaving the food supply. There was a door here, and behind it was a dark room with faint lights strewn about and glowing meagerly. They were not strong enough to show much but silhouettes in their neon yellow and red hues, but the room seemed to be filled with something... something that was moving.

Gabriel some how understood what Gied was saying, or at least he thought he did. When he looked into the room, he was scared of what ever was inside. He reached behind him to grab a hold of Sebastian's hand but he found it was not there. As they were walking Sebastian stayed a few steps behind and beside the girl with them. Almost as if he was making sure something was with her in case anything happened, even though he looked as if he didn't acknowledge anyone around him. Once Gabriel realized that there was danger in front of him, and his friend even a few steps away he started to panic. His face grew pale and his hands covered his eyes. A small squeak came from his mouth but nothing more. So many terrible thoughts ran through his head and he was lost in them.

She saw the distressed look to the poor child and went over to wrap her arms gently around her "Shh..." she said, noting the things moving... She got a shiver down her spine at them, not liking it, something tickling the back of her mind. She fought against the darkness that wanted to come over her again-- she had to be strong and not faint infront og them... even if the feeling in her head was getting worse..

"Close your eyes!!" Gied demanded again, aware that at least one of them had not been listening by how the creatures inside were shifting and beginning to slink about more often now... his voice was filled with concern. These people who were following him were not actually following him, and if they did not follow instruction, they may very well soon die. That would be no good. Gied dropped onto all fours once again, his legs sliding from their usual almost human mimicry to a more bestial fashion. He really was more animal than human at this point in time, although at one point he may very well have been a man. He certainly was not now. He issued a growl and dashed forward, eyes closed, into the darkness. His became another writhing silhouette among the other creatures. Sparks flew where it could be assumed that his claws were clashing into similarly tough materials, but the little flickering lights did nothing to aid their vision, as the dark creatures moved forward, coated in a grimy veil of shadow. Their only thought being the eyes that were on them from the doorway.

She realized what the creature had been muttering before had been instruction and quickly shut her eyes, holding the child close so her eyes were covered, and turned to the tall man "Close your eyes" she said quietly, her eyes shut. She wasnt aware that he was blind at all.

Sebastian at first was not going to close his eyes. But he did anyway, not wanting for Gied to get upset with him again. Gabriel slowly started to come back to his senses when he heard the clashing of claws. He was much too afraid to open his eyes to see what was going on. But he knew what a fight sounded like. He doubt Sebastien was fighting, and the girl was holding him then... Gied. He was suddenly worried about his friend, but there wasn't anything he could do. He wasn't strong like anyone else there, he had no magic like Sebastian. He started to shake even more at the thought of his freind getting hurt. "Gied...." He said softly.

With their eyes closed, the next sequence of events went on completely unknown to the three watching from beyond the doorway. Gied was aware of how to deal with this hurdle just as he had known how to deal with the traps on the doors, and the critter in the kitchens. He had an eerily omniscient way of acting, but it was impossible that he really knew everything in this place, wasn't it? It seemed to take far too long for Gied to accomplish his task, whatever it might have been when he had scurried off into the shadowy room. All at once there was a fluid sensation brushing against Gabriel and the others; something more solid was mixing with it, as well. It was cautious, tentative... as if it wasn't sure what it was touching, and was just as blinded by the darkness it crept about in as those it was now inspecting. All that could be heard was the sound of breathing. Many things, locked away by the darkness, breathing in the scent of their new prey.

She froze, holding the child closer, starting to shake a little as she immagined the worst things sniffing at them... it wasnt a pleasent feeling to be inspected, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise as she felt their eyes on her even though she didnt know if they were really looking at her... Her mind reeled from running to staying still to thrashing and attacking to hiding to sacrificing the child and watching them devour it to saving the child and being devoured herself, or just wait... wait.... she wished to open her eyes but something told her not to, so she wouldnt. it seemed to know more then she so she would listen for now... she was shaking a bit more with the hoards fowing around her...

Gabriel felt it. Gied had told them what to do and how to survive. He didn't feel any danger around him, in a way. He knew there was danger there, but he also knew that he was safe. Sebastian hadn't moved from his spot and kept his eyes closed. He too knew something odd was around him, but felt no threat from it. Gabriel slowly reached and touched the womens' hand. He wanted her to be calm, to know that they were safe. Even if the new danger attacked them, Gabriel knew Sebastien would protect them. So, he stood still and waited for the danger to pass.
