Um hi, I once researched female pirates and my two favorite pirates were Anne Bonnie and Mary Reed. I found it amusing how they met, what happened was Calico Jack, Anne Bonnie's lover, attacked a ship where Mary Reed, who was disguised as a male because females on ships were considered bad luck, was on. Anne Bonnie, who was also disguised as a male for the same reason despite the fact that her lover was the captain, thought that Mary Reed was really cute and went up to her and whispered flirtatiously in Mary's ear "I am not really a male." To which Mary Reed responded "Neither am I." They became friends after that but Jack got jealous, he though Anne was sleeping with a new man. He was about to fight Mary when Anne went over and told him that Mary was also a woman.
Oh another interesting story about the two. During their final battle between the pirates and the people wanting to bring them to justice the males on the crew were down in the galley getting drunk, Calico Jack was a coward, while Anne Bonnie and Mary Reed were up on the deck fighting. Eventually they got so mad at the rest of the crew that they fired down at their on crew, killing 2 and wounding others.
Anyway those are some random facts, plus two of my favorite stories about those pirate women. If you want to know more pm me. And I am sorry if this isn't in the right spot...I didn't know where I should move it...
