The "trial" aspect is not universal. My pagan best friend got handfasted before her "family" marriage, and she was treating it as just as permanent, abeit of a different tradition from the standard religious wedding. However, some traditions may allow a period of time; it's not out of the Christian tradition of mating for life regardless of compatibility.

FACT: Aku wouldn't mind being a house frau. She likes cooking, hates shoes and has a preggo fetish....only issue is she'd get bored and eat her young.
 
Fact: I might be going o watch a lesbian couples renew their vows in LA, it will likely end up with all of us drunk at the reception and one of the lesbians hitting on my mom...and all I can think about is In n Out burger..well that and visiting my newly single friend in san diego...I should look up how far that is...
