The Suicide Squad, or was it just Suicide Squad? Damnit, gotta just...

So I watched both The Suicide Squad and the one with some kind of Suicide Squad. I'm pretty sure one of them was crap, The Suic-- gotta just, check again...

Ok, so The Squad movie was, wait, which, which. Ok, just gonna open that in another tab and... which, which shooty guy was that. Ok, so Deadshot is the inept Will Smith, and he was in Suicide Squad, and Bloodshot is the charismatic, reluctant leader from THE Suicide Squad, so that means that the suicide squad from Suicide Squad was the one that wasn't very cool and The Suicide Squads from Suicide Squad, The was... wait, let me, let me just...

Ok, there's one squad in Suicide Squad, and there's probably two squads in The Suicide Squad not counting offshoot Quinn, but I think, I think only one of these three squads was a suicide... I'm just gonna talk about the last game I played instead.

So I'm playing through Doom again and... wait, just, just let me check again just for good measure...

Oh God, three of them this time. I'm just, I'm taking a nap.

Klaus which was... fine? Beautiful animation but story and character-wise, just a Christmas skin of The Emperor's New Groove with a completely unnecessary romance. Found it underwhelming, Arthur Christmas is still better in my opinion and will continue being my go-to Christmas movie.

And then also The Ballad of Buster Scruggs which oh my god is now my new favorite film next to Paranorman. Definitely my favorite Coen brother film now, and I adore The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Last couple were The Green Knight & From Atop Poppy Hill. They're doing a Studio Ghibli month at the local cinema, so I'm going to try to catch each one. Was nice to be in a theater with actual people in it.

Speaking in the Future Tense right now (because I have no idea what the last movie was that I went to the cinema to see):

Dune.

Dracula, with Winona Ryder as Mina.

I finished re-re-re-reading the book by Bram Stoker last week (probably the tenth time) so I watched the movie (again, likely the tenth time) the other night. Total thumbs up. Loved it every which way. Inspired a new profile look, even. Forgot how much I've had a crush on Winona Ryder.

The 2009 one is the reboot, right? Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy? It's the only one I can even stand, the Englund ones just make me wince at how cheesy they are.
Nope, that'd be Nightmare on Elm Street. And the cheese is part of the charm, try looking at anything from the 80s and tell me there isn't at least a hint of it in the characters' wardrobes or the humor itself.

I don't remember anything about it, though, which usually isn't a good sign. Friday The 13th's remake was good, though, it's a bummer we didn't get Part II remade as well for...whatever reason.

The last movie I saw was Rocky IV.

I don't really do "cheese" as "charm", especially in my horror movies. Just not my thing.

To stay OT: Rewatched Paranorman 'cause I'm sick and it's my comfort movie and yup, still perfect.

That's a respectable opinion, even though I (partly) disagree with it. Maybe I just like that kind of humor, who knows.

I remember some parts about Paranorman but even as someone who loves horror (and with a good amount of comedy, too) it sort of...fell flat for me. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good in it, but it's not as close to my heart as Corpse Bride. Don't think anything will ever overtake that for me.

And now I've finished rewatching Day Of The Dead (Romero's one, not that Netflix abomination).

Just finished A Monster Calls. I lived that movie, so it hit me different than it might others.

It's funny. I don't think it's particularly special, but wishing for everything to be over is very... real in that situation. Or at least it was in mine, so it was very believable.

I'm watching more movies than I ever do because of being sick. Normally I maybe watch a movie a year, if that. I just can't keep my brain focused that long on one thing, unless it's something I've been dying to watch or it pulls me in quick.

Anyway, OT. Django Unchained. Not that impressed.
