RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Well the search revealed assorted goods netting another 100 gold. When she returns to town of her success she is awarded the bounty for clearing the keep. The crimson caravan pays you 50 gold for each man rescued. All together Akane makes 2310 gold pieces. She also can take the hobgoblin's great sword if she wishes and has the Ironhide potion.

You have free reign of the town to shop and explore until the next adventure is ready.

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Akane decides to take some proof that she had eradicated the Shou in the keep. There was no better way to convey this than to take the weapon of the hobgoblin leader. She would not use it, but instead have it as a display piece or simply sell it if the price were right. After looking through the main hall, Akane would find a few things that she felt were valuable and would take those as well. All told she would find about 210 gold worth of items in the keep.

When she returned to the town, the Crimson Caravan would reward her with another 100 gold and she would sell the painting to the museum for 2000 gold giving her a good deal of money to work with. Now she just needed to see what she could do with it. Maybe the armorer would have some special deals about? She had a crack in her armor where the hobgoblin had hit her in the shoulder, and maybe it was time she got that looked at and repaired.

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

The town's ever sexy blacksmith smiled as Akane entered the shop. "Ah there is my blood soaked angel back from the fray. How are you doing? Are you here for a new weapon? or maybe patch up your armor?" said Hattoti. He was a Kueh man. He was taller and paler then your average Imperial. Hattori was also known to be a lech and to dabble in magical items.

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Akane would start to undo the straps on her armor and it was readily apparent that she would like to see her present armor worked on. "Hello Hattoti, yeah I kinda broke the armor you made for me. Think you can fix it for me?" Thinking almost nothing of it, Akane would reveal what was hiding underneath the armor and there was barely more than a strapless bra holding her breasts in place. Once she placed her top armor on the counter, she would look down and notice that the plate on her right leg was damaged as well.

"Well damn, looks like I did worse than I thought.. I damaged the loincloth too.." Hattoti was going to get quite the show as Akane would be just as forward with taking her loin cloth off as she was with taking off her top. Not even thinking anything of her top being all but bare, she would lean forward giving Hattoti a perfect look right into her breasts as she started to undo the small clasps that were keeping the rivets on and she would place the small plate that was damaged on the counter as well. Without hesitation, Akane would lean forward again allowing Hattoti another view of her breasts at close range as she would continue to undo the other plate and her loin cloth.

Akane would leave herself in little more than her underwear and look at Hattoti like nothing was out of place. "Let me know what you think you can do with this? Or maybe if you want to fit me with different armor perhaps?" Akane knew just how hands on Hattoti could be, and she was more than happy to accept his generous discounts. It was afterall how she got such immaculate looking armor afterall.

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Hattori looked over Akane as she stripped out of her armor. She was a beautiful woman and he smiled as he ogled her breasts. He felt himself flush, even above the heat of the nearby forge.

He picked up her armor pieces and inspected them. "Repairs are fine and all. I can hammer these back into shape, smelt the holes back together. But it's time that I'm not making other pieces and I just got a whole new order come in."

He set the pieces down and rubbed his greasy and soot-covered hands on a towel to clean them. He walked up to Akane and ran a finger over her tight belly. "Make it worth my while though, and I'll do it. And at a significant discount too."

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Akane would smile once she knew that Hattori was willing to have a little fun. His hands were pretty big but putting on the unintentional show that she had seemed to get Hattori in the mood. "Oh, now what would that be? What would make it worth your while? My little show was not enough?"

Akane was not resisting Hattori's hand from gliding over her body and she would go so far as to move herself closer so that he could do as he pleased with her for a few moments. Once she got an idea of what he was going to do, then she could see if her desires for a release could be satisfied as well. All the pent up aggression from eradicating the Shou had left Akane wanting as well.

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Hattori smiled out of one side of his mouth. "Your show? Enough?" He laughed. "Akane, my angel, that did nothing but whet my appetite." His large hands reached up and covered each of her breasts. His eyes gleamed in the darkness of the shop and his muscular body, honed from years at the forge, was framed by the light of the coals behind him. His touch on her breasts was gentle, a reminder that he also did fine inlay work on some of his more expensive pieces.

He pressed close to her, enough so she could smell his sweat on him. He flashed her a smile. "One roll in the hay," he said. "That's all I ask for. I want to feel a warrior woman around my cock."

RE: Scarlet Heroes: The Saga of Rika Akane

Akane considered it a challenge accepted. "Sure you arent gonna pass out on me?" she would jest toward Hattori as he got a good grope in on her breasts. "Make sure you get a good feel for my curves.. It would not do if the armor did not fit me perfectly." Just as Akane had standards, she was willing to pay the price for perfection. Since she was already all but disrobed anyway, Akane would simply tell Hattoti to lead the way and then they would get right down to business.

OOC: Sorry Whisper. But Freeko requested in chat that she needs multiple posts a day and she no longer wants to wait on playing the next campaign. So we will fade to black and go ahead.

After a night of passionate, animalistic, ass grabbing sex, Akane rises. She contently goes to the local tavern for morning breakfast and to buy supplies. A merchant ship captain approaches her. "Riko Akane, the village elder of Kai Besil is looking for adventurers to help her island. I heard how you defeated the Shou bandits, so I thought to tell you about this. My ship will depart for Kai Besil and take you there if you are interested," said the captain. You may ask him questions, do your shopping, or any other preparations you like.

Akane was wearing a Qipao that she would generally wear when wandering about town. She was never one to really be approached by people so when a ship captain by the looks of him had approached her, Akane would listen to what he had to say. "Kai Besil" she would think to herself... She could not immediately recall the place but that was not going to stop her from going. Akane also was thinking that the captain said "her" when mentioning the town elder.

"How long do I have before we leave for Kai Besil?" Akane would ask the captain. She would then ask rather bluntly if anyone who was combat capable would want to join her on the journey. Two women would answer her call and by the looks of it they were both trained in using a bow. Akane would then need only go back to reclaim her armor that was being worked on, procure a horse and then be off with the Merchant Captain to Kai Besil.

Ting and Rou were the name of the archers that joined Akane. (Use Soldier Stats) She also hires Hou, the guy she rescues from the crimson caravan to be her porter. To be honest she didn't really hire him. 'Henpecked' Hou works for the Crimson Caravan as an excuse to get away from his overbearing wife. He is on the trade ship to Kai Besil to dodge her nagging once again.

In any case Riko sets off and after a few days sailing you come to Talamau. Talamau is a coastal village of four hundred people. Most live within the village proper and walk to their paddies, though a few brave families dare to cut clearings out of the surrounding jungle. The villagers are relatively prosperous and well-fed, though the regular casualties suffered at the fangs of the jungle beasts have kept the village from growing beyond its present size.

Talamau sees few strangers. Small merchant ships arrive occasionally to trade necessities for rice and jungle timber, and boats from neighboring islands bring new brides or extended family for visits, but the only real source of new faces are the few scholars who make the trip to examine the books at the old academy. Akane is at the dock. Well It might be best to find this Elder then.

Akane - 14/14 HP, AC 4
Ting - AC 6, HD 1
Rou - AC 6, HD 1

Akane would notice another familiar face as one of the men she rescued from the keep would insist on going with her. He was older and wanted to get away from his wife, but at least he would serve a purpose. It took a little nagging, but when it came down to it he knew how to handle a horse and any manner of goods that Akane would need was now going to be handled by him so that Akane could focus herself on the task at hand.

From what Akane would hear, there were issues with jungle beasts. That might be suitable to her talents if not a bit mundane. Getting the word out about her legend would be worth it though. From the looks of it Kai Besil looked something like a getaway town where people would simply disappear for some time and indulge in pleasures not normally found back home. Though speculation on what this place was would be cute, Akane was here for a reason.

As Akane would move toward the directions she were given for where the elder resides, she would notie that there were a good number of people wearing rather interesting uniforms. Scholars perhaps that were studying? Akane would take interest in possibly enlisting one as a guide if the need arose. It was a passing thought however as she could speculate all she wanted. Until she reached the elder there was no telling what she was going to be getting herself into.

Location Description: 8. ELDER KITRA’S HOME: Wizened Elder Kitra conducts all negotiations with outsiders since the death of her husband. She lives with her favorite grandson and his wife, tended hand and foot by her doting progeny while she grumbles over the troubles of the village. She has a peasant’s natural suspicion of armed outsiders, but she’s ready to make any bargain she must to get the volcano’s magical seal restored. The other villagers trust her implicitly, and will keep any deal she makes on their behalf.

The son and his wife welcome the party into their home. Elder Kitra also gives them a polite greeting. Everyone has a seat and tea is served. "I suppose you are here for the job offer then? But first a bit of history. A long time a go the great Sorceress Lan Yu set out to study the secrets of fire. In time she built the temple of Flame ion this island's dormant volcano and discovered many secrets. She also established this village and gifted it an 'academy' to teach the peasants. Her 'Flame priests' took charge of the temple and kept up sacred seals to keep the volcano inactive so the island didn't burn to ash. That was centuries ago. About 400 years ago disaster struck. An earthquake released toxic smoke from the volcano killing all the flame priests on the temple. Since then it has been abandoned and we have been a simple fishing village. Yet small tremors happen and the ancient warning lamp has changed color. If we do not have some one brave the dangerous jungle and enter the abandoned fire temple to renew the wards, the volcano will erupt and destroy us all. That is why I sent for adventurers. Any questions?" She stated simply.

"Questions? Hmm.. How do you propose that I renew the wards? I am a fighter not a magician." Akane would know what she could and could not do. Sorcery was not something she cared for and mostly dismissed it all as some hokey ancient religion nonsense. This was certainly something that interested Akane almost just in the challenge alone.

"When it comes down to it, I can sit at the edge of the city and pick off beasts all day long. That is what I am good at and I have a few archers with me as well that would help support that. If my job is to eradicate everything between here and there, then I accept. I can't help you with lanterns or wards though. Maybe I could escort someone who does but I need to make sure that they were not a liability and going to just run off a the first sign of trouble."

Thinking about it more, Akane would see about an idea that came to her head. "Would this be better served being done in two parts? First I can exterminate anything along the way to this temple. Once the job is finished then you can send your scholars to renew the wards. I can protect them from there." Akane was half talking truth and half spouting non-sense but most of it was to work over her nervous energy and simply show that she was not a dumb mercenary.

Kitra raised her eyebrows in surprise when Akane asked about solutions instead of rewards. "Well you do not need to be a wizard, thankfully. Anyone can perform the ritual to renew the seal. There is a book in the temple itself that gives step by step instructions and all the tools are there. The problem is there is 3 miles of dangerous jungle between here and the temple. Not to mention what beasts moved into the ruins. Some of are best hunters have tried and where never heard from again. I can only assume the worst..." Kitra trailed off. She then sipped her tea. "Chief Scholar Indah can give you more information on the temple and a local map. I also will instruct everyone here to offer aid since you are helping the island," Said Kitara. She then took a sip of her tea. She looked down at the table a tad nervously. "Now about your reward... I am open to discussion," she said.

Akane would cut off that crazy talk about a reward. "What good would a reward be if I am not around to use it? Don't get your hopes up just yet but we can talk about that once my group and I return." Confidence in her abilities was not something that Akane lacked. In her own mind it was just a formality to deal with some local troubles. Still this whole hocus pocus talk with the wards was unsettling to her. That would be a job best delegated anywhere else but to herself she thought.

"I think I will talk to the Chief Scholar first and see if we cannot work something out. So if you do not mind, I would like to take my leave to start gathering more information." If Akane were dismissed, she would bow her head out of respect to the elder and move on to the Acaedmy where she could hopefully meet the Chief Scholar.

"Great going boss. Now we are going to get ppaid in rice beer or something when we return," complained Rou once they left the home. "Hey! I like Rice beer!" piped in Ting. Rou just shot her a dirty look then continued,"I was an acolyte at the War God's temple. I'm sure I could do this ritual if there is a book with instructions. I doubt any scholar is going to make it through jaguar country," Rou added. They then arrived at the old academy.

#7 Old Academy.

Upon entering the stone building you are greeted by Chief Scholar Indah, a lovely young woman rendered unsuitable for marriage by a crippled leg. You also see several scholars intently ready or copying books. "Welcome, The elder said would were stopping by. Here, have this," Indah said. She hands you a map of the island. "I am Indah, a pleasure to meet you. How can I be of service?"

With Ting and Rou carrying on a bit as Akane refused to discuss a reward, she saw this as a spot to teach a life lesson. "I dont want you to lose your focus and think about money when we have a job to do." She could have laid into them more, but it wasnt like Akane could not use her own money to pay them either. In truth it was about maintaining a balance between keeping them happy and keeping them focused. Clearly not getting a big reward was making them unhappy, but that does not mean that there still is not one for them. Akane just did not care to discuss a reward yet.

Now that they had reached the academy, they were greeted by the Chief Scholar who was prepared for them. Akane would recieve a map of the island and looking over it quickly, it would show points that were outside of the town itself. This map was certainly going to be useful and Akane would thank Indah for the gift. A few ideas would well inside of Akane's head when she was asked how she could be of service. Thinking these questions were beneath the elder, Akane would barrage Indah with questions.

"Is there something that I need to know about when going outside of the town? What is out there? What might be in the temple itself now? Why not make an attempt to eradicate these beasts that have started to corrupt this land? .. Do you think there would be a guide that were willing to help us both get to and through the temple?" It was a bit much but once Akane got going it was difficult to stop. Of course she would save Rou for last to ask about the ritual as it would seem she was best suited out of the lot of them to handle that while Ting and Akane would in principle make sure nothing interrupted the ritual.

It was the basics of a plan, but Akane knew that having a plan and relying on the plan were two very different things.

"Oh! you misunderstand. The beasts are natural animals and are not corrupting anything. This island is covered completely in unsettled jungle except for this village. To get rid of them you would have to clear cut 20 miles of jungle. Nobody wants that. You will face jaguars, giant centipedes, and giant beetles. Some people whisper about zombies and pirates on the island. But those are unconfirmed rumors at best. Heinrich, is a hunter and the best person to act as a guide. He avoids strangers and only comes to town every few days to trade his latest haul. Since his wife died he keeps to himself. As for what is in the temple? I have no idea. No one has set foot inside that place in 400 years. There was no need to until now. Sorry," explains Indah.

Akane breathed a sigh of relief when she was told what was out there. Though now it was all making sense to her as well. "Yes, I guess I do not understand. I am an outsider to this land afterall." Trying to casually pass off her notions as best she could. The mention of Zombies and Pirates would make her chuckle a little since Zombies were flat nonsense and the waters around here seemed to be well enough patrolled to not have much of a pirate interest lingering around she thought.

"Does this Heinrich show up often? Where would I find him if he were here? I guess it is unfortunate that no one has been in the temple, but I fathom that cannot be helped. Is there some way to get into the temple or would I need to have something special to break a barrier with me. 400 years is a long time, are you sure no one has been there?" This last part was somewhat distressing for Akane because she would have no idea what to expect when it came to the temple itself.

Once Akane and Indah would finish their conversation, Akane would thank her for the time she took to help and then set off to see if she could find Heinrich.

"Well he has a hut. But he is usually at Kuso the Healer's place or the Batari guest house enjoying their cups. The Batari guesthouse also serves as the village inn. I'd check there first," said Indah. Upon the mention of cups Ting visibly perks up. "They drink? I'm starting to like them already. Maybe I could join them for a cup or three..." Ting said trailing off. Rou scowled and said,"You are such a winesop Ting. But a hot meal after the boat ride over here does not sound bad."

When you depart for the Guest House you find Henpecked Hou in the kitchen. "No no, you don't boil carrots that long, they will get mushy. And you must gently garnish the fish with lemon pepper not smother it!" he said as was working with the kitchen staff. He looked up as the three ladies enter. "Hello Akane. Can I offer you some tasty roast trout? I been teaching the kitchen staff here a thing about cooking," he said. He then adds in a hushed tone,"I had to help them. It was like watching a shipwreck in slow motion when I got here." Upon the mention of Hienrich, Hou nods and says,"Oh hi,m. He is in the corner table with that healer fellow. Both been drinking."

Give me an intellect check against 11 please.

Check: 12 - Pass

Akane was sort of wondering where Hou had wandered off to, and low and behold she found him in the guest inn helping bring some new recipes for cooking to the locals. A smile crossed Akane's face as she signalled to have Ting and Rou to simply sit and relax upon seeing how well Hou had acclimated himself to this foreign land. Akane had some business to attend to, and she would head right into it and try to see what Heinrich and Kuso were up to.

Her intentions were pretty clear, to get Heinrich to join her so that she could get herself along with the rest of the group out to the temple so that they could reset the wards that were fading.

Akane recognizes this man. Back on the mainland Hienrich was an outlaw. That explains why he avoids visitors. Though they never met before, Akane remembers the wanted posters during her time in the army. Heinrich is your typical looking Eirengarder. That is tall, muscular, with pale blonde hair. A sharp contrast to the rest of the islanders. He sees Akane make her way towards their table. Kuso said,"It is that adventurer come to brave the caves? Come sit, drink. What can we do for you?" Heinrich gave her a welcoming nod pushed out a chair for Akane to join them.

Akane would look at the situation objectively. Wanted posters back home meant nothing out here. She was certainly not here to execute a warrant on a wanted poster. Heinrich right now was a means to an end to Akane. Overhearing the last of the conversation that the two would have with each other, Akane would try to interject herself and get right to the point. "To be honest I think we all know why I am here. I have been tasked with going to the temple and it is my job to assemble the best team I can to ensure success."

Concise and to the point was the best way Akane felt that this should be approached. "Having Heinrich as our guide would only serve to make this job easier for all of us. Once this is done we can all go back to what we were doing as life goes on." Akane would hope that making a passive suggestion that she knew who Heinrich was would help allay his fear that she would attempt to turn him in. Akane had every intention of not caring about Heinrich's past nor future. It was only the present that mattered to her and enlisting his assistance as a guide for the journey would help greatly.
