Book 1 - The First Shard - P L O T
  • Left in ruins, the world of Marosia tries to survive under the King of Darkness' reign. The people wonders where the noble knights have gone, and while some blame them, some would open their homes for their protection. While the knights trek on the journey to where the first shard is said to have been sent (to the West, through the mazes and towards the Elves), it is rumored that the Treacherous Knight has been sent on a hunt for that shard as well. How many times will their paths cross roads? What dangers lie in the path towards the Western kingdom, and who will achieve the first known shard?[/list:u]

    * I know we're still working on some profiles and some openings are still available. However, this is to get the ball roll. The 2 posts per week requirement will start the coming Monday, 12th of October.

  • I didn't want to come outright and say it but I sure as hell was thinking it. XDD
    I say just work up a profile and post it up and kitten will add the character's information
    to the necessary places and you can get started when you're good and ready to.[/list:u]

    4, 5, then Umbrella Chronicles.
    Then some Fallout. Killing feral ghouls is almost like

I played a game with Zombie Nazi's but I can't remember what it's called.
And we were trying to last for the longest time period.

  • We're waiting for Valen and Xion.
    Since it's the beginning, let's try not to skip too much,
    or the character wouldn't get established.

    It's alright to post the bare minimum of 3 paragraphs,
    as flow and frequency is sometimes more important than
    a 5+ paragraph post. I also know we've all
    been rather busy with school and being sick.

    Just throwing out an option, but I was thinking about how a battle system could be set up.
    Does anyone know of a good random generator site? I was thinking that we could just throw
    that in, scramble, and then when it comes to posting, we challenge ourselves with
    trying to make the outcome possible. So...

    Something like:
    Valen vs. Nekar....
    *uses randomizer*
    and if Nekar is selected by the generator, then she wins the battle.
    How we would RP this could be doing this at the beginning, and knowing the
    results beforehand to RP to the person winning....

    Uh...yeah, just an idea, since I haven't ranked Team Dark verses Team Light...
    Anyone has ideas, or should we totally just throw it up in the air? O.O

Do it dnd style.

flip a coin to see who goes first. then that team makes their actions then waits for the other team to respond to it.

Lik eif they attack the others can defend, evade etc then take their action. simple

I think it would be totally pointless to just do things randomly with a 50% chance every battle.

My idea is to find a percentage-based generator, something that calculates chances and decide what percentage of a chance characters have to defeat eachother.

An example, lets say KOD and... The wolf get in an argument, and the wolf attacks the king... Naturally most of us are going to be expecting a the king to kick the wolf's furry butt across the room and back, so a 50/50 chance of the wolf winning to losing would be kind of silly, instead the wolf would like have a 2-10% chance (I.E Some crazy fluke) of winning or even landing a blow.

Lets say we face Valen and Nekar off against eachother, they are pretty well matched for speed, but when it comes to power Valen is higher ranking on the power scale and has the power of the wind on his side, so we give him a little bit of an advantage V65%/N45%. In my mind that works out better, lets say valen is suffering from that nasty pain and is badly afflicted, of course there is the possibility of it striking during the battle, which severely reduces his chances, V25%/N75

That way things are a little more fair and can be adjusted by level of power and strengths and weaknesses.

Of course this is just a theory, I have NO idea if such a random number generator even exists. Maybe I am just fantasizing.

That or we can just let the players play it out and discuss it, we are all playing on both teams with one character, and we are all good players, which means godmodding shouldn't be a possibility, if we were realistic about who would win we wouldn't need a generator or anything

It might be best to let the players decide how it should go in PM or something so it doesn't hold the rest of us up, then they can hook up in PM, play it through then post it. or ..something> *laugh*

  • I...I'm sorry to make things complicated for all of us D8! *group hugs?* XD

    But, great suggestions, and I'm going to twist and combine them.
    I've already got a partial idea in my mind, so perhaps when a battle comes
    up, I'll pop out a result (maybe step by step results of attacks, defense, etc),
    and PM it to the group/ post it here.

    My idea isn't solid, but with some, 50/50 works, and others, scaling like Middie
    suggested works. Still opened to ideas and helps ^^
    I have a bit of an idea with dices as well, but since a battle
    is a bit away, I'll work on a system forr now, and before the battle occurs,
    I'll have it out. From my understanding, it won't hold us back, as we all probably
    have to deal with it somehow.

    Also~~~ it's alright to post as Xion. At the moment, Team Dark's order scrambled,
    and Xion and Annie will interact between our posting after each other, while
    Nekar, Malek, and Gerrit will either post when they monotone or enter the posting
    order again, if they decide to interact with anyone.[/list:u]
