Is He A Lover or A Fighter {guitarfan2810 & WrittenFantasies}

Owen took a bottle and passed out on the flight snuggled against Jake. Jake took a nap too. It was nice to see Owen. He was easy and good on plane even though his routine was changed a bit.

Once they landed a car took them and their bags to the penthouse. John was impressed. Jake liked it and Owen had fun crawling around checking out the new place.

"Thanks for the baskets babe. We're here safe. I'm gonna just spend the day relaxing. Shall we expect you for dinner? " Jake texted Adri as he sat on the sofa. He was in pain but tried like hell to ignore it. After a couple hours he gave up and took medicine and fell asleep with Owen.

After going through everything, she was introduced to a few of the other models. They all joked about the Adrianna's being competition for each other and Adri replacing Adrianna. They invited her to dinner and she wanted to get to know he coworkers so she agreed.

After dinner she was free to go home and she went straight to the penthouse. Everyone was asleep so she took a shower and crawled into bed with Jake and Owen. She didn't even have to set an alarm which was wonderful. Until Owen woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep because he was excited to see Adri.

She was happy to see him too but she was still sleepy. She hugged Owen and gave him a kiss. "I missed you too buddy." She said softly and yawned. She got out of bed and saw that john was awake. She tried to hand Owen over but he started to scream and cry so she picked him back up and kissed his temple.

"So Jake and I are going to counseling this afternoon. You and Owen can go shopping or walk around. Maybe the zoo. Just wrap him up nice and tight to keep him warm. Maybe we can meet at Central Park and get lunch or something."

Jake and John just ordered in dinner. It was good but not as healthy as he would have hoped. After eating Jake took a shower and got Owen asleep and they were out for the night. He only cuddled to Adri when she climbed into bed.

John told Adri that he would find something fun for them to do. "We can definitely meet up for lunch. How do you things will go?" He grabbed coffee.

After awhile Jake woke up in bed and let out a groan knoeing he was alone. When he felt okay, he crawled out of bed and pulled shorts on to head to the kitchen. "Morning everyone." Jake kissed Adri. "How was your day babe? Tell us about it."

Adri shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. I hope they go well but it could just spark another fight." She looked at Owen and kissed his forehead. "I hope it doesn't of course. I want this to work." She said softly.

"Good morning Jake." Owen called out to him and reached out but when Jake came over he buried his face into Adri's chest. She rubbed his back and kissed the top of his head, "It was great. I am right at the body weight goal they want for my height my fat count is very low. I might have to get a boob job." She teased. "I'm kidding. Tomorrow I get fitted for the fashion show and today, after therapy, I have the paperwork with express so I can start the catalogue next week." She smiled happily.

"And Owen really needs a passport. Fashion show is in Paris this year. And this guy will be going with us."

John nodded. "It won't be easy. A lot may be said during your sessions but it's meant to help. Doesn't mean you won't fight but hopefully you'll end up stronger as a couple." He smiled at her.

Jake blew raspberries on Owen's neck. "Hi buddy. Who has you?" Owen said Adri's name. Jake gave Adri a look about a boob job. "I'm putting my foot down on that..." John pretended he couldn't hear anything.

"Ugh we gotta take him?!" Jake teased. "Alright baby. I'll get it and put the dates in my phone so I know when not to schedule a fight."

Jake looked for something to eat. "What time is counseling?"

She shrugged her shoulder, "We will see. I could balloon up to F's." She teased further. "Just make them huge."

She nodded her head, "The actual show is towards the end of November and then it will be broadcast December fifth, I think." Which was a likely time Dana would schedule a fight for Jake and if he did there nothing he could do about it. Four months until November, that gave Jake four months to get healed and ready for a title shot. It was highly likely in her mind and that was great. She wanted it to happen. It was what he dreamed of. Hopefully she would be there for it if it did happen.

"We leave at 11. We have about a half hour before e need to start getting ready. It's not that far from here but I almost had a panic attack the last time we tried t walk the streets. I'd rather not try it out again. So our driver is taking us."

Jake shook his head no. "If we go in the pool or hot tub they'd float." He teased back.

"Okay. I will make sure I'm available." He sat to eat and motioned for her to sit by him as he cut a piece of banana for Owen. Owen's eyes widened and he reached for it as Jake handed it to him. "You know, I was wondering, if we wanted to go back to Denver. For Christmas. That way you and O can see a white Christmas. We can rent the cabin again and everyone go. Even your parents. But if we wanted we could find a bigger one for your brothers and their families." Jake ate his small breakfast and took his medicine.

Since Jake showered the night before he didn't really need one but if Adri took one and wanted/needed compamy he wouldn't turn her down. "You nervous?" He asked referring to counseling.

Adri smiled and rubbed his back and then she went to sit down with him since Owen did need to eat. "Denver for Christmas could be fun. We'd need a huge cabin for all of us to fit in. We could always go to a ski lodge or something. That way every family gets their own cabin."

She nodded her head to being nervous, "Yeah. A little bit." She didn't know what would be asked or what would come up. They had to be truthful if they wanted anything to be resell dd and sometimes the truth hurt. She just didn't want to come home and have this rift between them.

"Are you nervous?"

Jake nodded to needing a bigger place. "We can do some searching. There are plenty of ski lodges around. You want individual cabins or rooms? Or just one huge cabin? How many people are we thinking?" Jake fed Owen more food and he kepy piling it in his mouth. "Dang dad did you feed him while we were gone."

"Son he is growing and he eats like his father." Jake smiled.

He looked at Adri and nodded at her and looked in her eyes. His hand rubbed her leg. "I can't promise I won't get upset or angry. Just like you can't. But we both need to be honest. And just know I would never intentionally hurt you. And no matter what you say or decide to do...I love you. That's never going to change. I just want you happy." He kissed her head. It was true, his feelings may hurt, but he will never stop loving her. No matter what.

"Jake I have four brothers. My oldest brother is married, the second oldest has a girlfriend. We have your dad and my parents. Luke and Amy. And your mother if you invite her. Do you want all 15 of us under the same roof? That smells of disaster." She laughed.

She looked at Owen, "He also slept through dinner so that could have something to do with it. He's hungry and growing and just my chubby boy." She kissed his cheek and rubbed the top of his head.

"I know you can't and I can't either." She said softly. "I love you too." She smiled at him and rubbed his cheek. "It's going to make us better." She said softly.

That was a tough question. It would be nice to wake up Christmas morning to a full house but it was nice to have a small Christmas with just Adri and Owen before spending time with the whole family. "Individual cabins then or hotel style rooms?" He smiled.

"Just wait till he's running around and chasing Max more than he is. Owen will lose that baby fat by being active just wait."

He smiled and nodded. Jake gave her a small soft kiss. "Yeah it will." Owen started patting his face telling him no. Jake gave him a look. "I will kiss mommy if I want." Owen replied with another no. Jake sighed and looked at Adri. "Someone missed you.

"I'm going to go get dressed. Unless you're showering..." He said with a smile and seductive look.

"I think it would be cool if we had a huge cabin that everyone could come to Christmas Day or in the mornings and then they all had their own cabins dotted around our big cabin." She smiled. "Doesn't that sound nice?"

She pouted, "But he's so cute and chubby. Look at this face." She said and pinched Owens cheeks in and he spit out banana. She frowned and shook her head. "Most of the time he's cute and fat." She corrected.

"I showered last night. I'll get dressed after you if this guy lets me out of his sight long enough." She said softly.

Jake smiled and watched her. "I thought that same thing. Too bad we couldn't rent the one we had before and then have everyone come there. But I'm not sure how close they have other places. We will look. Just tell everyone we're all going to Denver." He smiled proudly.

He laughed. "Baby...you bothered him while he was eating. That was mommy's fault huh?" He kissed her head.

He frowned and pretended to pout. "Okay...I guess he hasn't seen you longer than me..." He gave Owen a playful look. "I'll be fast." He kissed Adri before heading back to the bedroom. He got dressed in jeans and an Affliction button up shirt. When he was finished he walked out and held his hands out for Owen. "Come here big boy. Mommy needs to get dressed."

"Yeah that was stil, gross and he's packing his cheeks with food. Slow down feeding him."

She shrugged her shoulder, "he loves me. What can I say. I am a lovable person." She smiled and watched Jake walk off. She moved to the couch and set Owen on the couch between her and John. When Jake came back down she moved off of the couch so Jake could take over her spot.

She heard Owen calling and whining but she went to get dressed. She put on a nice pencil skirt and top and then grabbed a pair of black Louboutins. She came downstairs to Jake and Owen and John and smiled at them. She and Jake were totally contrasting style wise but she had the big growing career in New York. He didn't have to dress up.

"I'm ready when you are." She told him.

"He likes being a chipmunk. Or a squirrel." Jake smiled.

When Owen started to fuss for Adri, Jake side tracked him with toys and cheerios. He kissed his head and talked to his dad about their day. John informed Jake that he was taking his grandson to the zoo. Jake's face fell a bit. "We will have to go back so Adri and I could go."

Jake checked Adri out when she walked down. "You look nice. Should I change?" He kissed Owen's head and got up. "I should at least go change my shirt..." He headed up to the room to grab a different shirt. He found a dressier one and put it on as he climbed down the stairs.

"Alright...let's do this." He grabbed her hand and walked out with her after saying bye to Owen. His thumb caressed her hand. Jake stayed quiet as they walked out to the car. The nerves were setting in more.

Adri shrugged, "You don't have too if you're comfortable." She said softly but didn't stop him when he went to change.

The car was waiting outside for the, and she gave him the address of the therapist's office. She smiled at Jake and gave his hand a squeeze before looking out the window and waiting to arrive at their destination. When they did arrive, they took an elevator up to a high floor of the building and then waited in a fancy waiting room. They were taken back to an office with a couch and a chair across from it or two chairs and the other chair could be turned to face them.

Adri chose the couch and took a seat. They were offered coffee or water and they didn't have to wait long for Doctor Rebbeca Schwartz to join them. She smiled at the couple and introduced herself.

"Alrighty now tell me a bit about yourself and then tell me what you want to fix in your relationship." She said and looked from Jake to Adri and then back to Jake.

Adri looked at Jake and licked her lips, "My name is Adri, I was born in California but when my dad retired from the marines, he moved us to Vegas. I have lived there a good portion of my life. I am a model, I was his assistant for a little while and now we are engaged and we have a son and a dog. We need to fix communication, I guess." She said softly and looked at Jake.

Jake stayed quiet and looked out his own window. He had no idea what would come out and that was worrying him. He was afraid Adri would say she wanted to end things.

Once they sat down and the doctor came in his nerves went away a bit. He listened to Adri and wondered what he should say about himself. He hated talking about himself but he just played it like a magazine article.

"I have no idea what to say about myself. So I'm just going to give you information that has or may have caused fights with essentials. My name's Jake Daniels. I'm a UFC fighter. My mom kicked my dad out when I was young and remarried a very sick man. A man who would beat my sister and I. When I was old enough I left a small town right outside of Denver. I moved to Vegas and started fighting. I slept with one of the ring girls and that's how I became a father. She's not really in his life though. Adri has stepped up and took the mom role. And she does an amazing job." Jake squeezed her hand. "I want to also work on communication, but it Ibhave to pick something different it would be our time management. We both have time consuming jobs. I train and she travels and does photoshoots and interviews. I ca also travel and do interviews but not as often. Sometimes family doesn't get much time and then add thr bad communication it's a fight waiting to happen." His thumb moved around her hand.

"Alright. That was good. Now tell me how you met. We want to work on communication and time management. That's good." She smiled. "Now Adri, you rolled your eyes when he mention time management, can you tell me why?"

A nervous smile crept across her face and she looked at their hands, "i travel a lot. My work is in LA and New York most of the time, and some times other places but we live in Vegas so I have to travel to the work. He gets upset when I'm not at home every week. We make it work and it's not like I can do anything about the schedule. I can't, that's my job. That's why I took campaigns and this contract so I won't have to travel all the time but that doesn't mean jobs won't pop up." She told him the last part and looked at the therapist again.

"Okay and now before you answer Jake, I want to know how you two met. Can you tell me Jake?"

Jake looked down when she mentioned him getting upset when she couldn't be home every week. It wasn't exactly that but he let her talk. She was his fiancé and felt it was normal to want to be with her.

"Well I needed an assistant. I went through a lot of them because they couldn't handle how strict and particular I am. I have a strict work out schedule and diet when training for a fight. Or I could be kind of mean...but Adri was different. She did things how I wanted them done. She has a good eye for detail and I liked that. Well we spet a lot of time together so obviously feelings started to develop and I quickly fell in love. I mean..." He looked at Adri. "Look at her. She's gorgeous. And she kept me grounded. She knew how to calm the anger. She started to take down the wall I built." He wanted to add she kind of stopped but left it out. He looked back at the doctor.

"It's not that I'm mad she's not home every week. I don't want to spend more of our time apart then together. I love her and obviously want to be with her and when she's gone I miss her and...I'm not the same person when she's gone. We aren't the team that we are when we're together. Plus we have a son...and he misses her when she's gone. Sometimes...I feel she'd rather be at work than at home with us. Especially after a fight. And it's hard because my gym is in Vegas so if I'm training it's hard for me to pick up and travel. But I have...I've went to LA, New York, and Tokyo to be with her so we aren't apart a much but she's still so busy we still don't get a lot of time together. It's also fustrating when she is gone for a week or two and comes home and then something pops up and she has to leave again. I get my hopes up to get time with her then the plans change."

She listened to him talk about how they met with a smile on her face. When he started talking about how she looked, she blushed and pushed his leg, "Shut up." She laughed and shook her head. She smiled at him and gave his hand a squeeze.

"Jake, really? That's not true and you know it. We Facetime every day when I'm gone. I want to be home." She rubbed her lips together and looked at Jake, "You go with me on work trips. You can't be mad when I have to work. I tell you I am going to be working." She said softly. "I can't be the person who blows off work and work opportunities."

The therapist nodded her head, "Communication and time management. Okay. So those are the main issues. How is the intimacy? Could it be better? Is it lacking in some areas?"

He smiled at Adri. "It's all true..." She was beautiful and he didn't understand if she didn't know it. She was sexy and and all these big name companies have picked her to be their face of their brands.

"I didn't say it was true that you don't want to be home. I never said I was mad. I was saying how I felt. And there has been times we thought you were coming home and staying for awhile then had to go. You don't always have a lot of notice. I'm not saying to pass them up but I'm going to be sad when I think I get a week with my fiancé and it turns into two days. And yes we Facetime and it helps. It does. But it's not the same as having you with me. Or me you..." Perfect example they need help communicating.

Jake smiled. "Well it's been lacking a bit recently because I've been hurt. But I think it's good." He looked at her. "It can be spontaneous and fun. We don't plan it which is nice. I mean look at her, I think she's gorgeous so I would say I could always go for more...but I can't complain either. Well except having to work around our son. Sometimes his plans and ours clash."

Adri agreed that they were fine with their intimacy. "Yeah. That part of the relationship is fine. Almost perfect since we seem to always find a way to make it better." She smiled at Jake.

"How do you resolve conflicts?" She asked.

Adri shook her head, "We don't. They just fade and then we have sex and we are better." She looked at Jake for confirmation.

She wrote that down, "Are there any past fights that you feel need to be resolved? Anything you need to talk about but maybe you are afraid of doing it at home?" Adri shook her head and looked down. So the therapist focused on Jake, "We have five weeks together and we won't get anywhere if you don't speak up in here." She looked at Adri and then back at Jake.

Jake looked down. The therapist was right no problems get resolved really. "That's not entirely true. Sometimes we talk after the fact when neither are upset. But not often. Normally one of us gets mad, walks away, then leaves for a bit or for a long work week."

He only could think of a few things he didn't feel were resolved. Mostly just one. "I can only think of one and it's our last fight. After my last UFC fight I got hurt and she seemed mad at me. I had no idea she was chosen for fashion week and wanted me to go along. Instead I stayed home cause I couldn't fly due to a punctured lung
And when she got home she still seemed upset." He looked at her hoping she wouldn't be mad.

He then looked down not wanting her feeling attacked but he needed to get his feelings out. "When we first got together you fought to get me to tell you how I feel
You broke down that wall. Now I feel like it only makes you mad or makes me seem like a baby."

She looked at Jake and then at her lap. Once again she looked like the bitch. Only one of them was working so she was the one to leave on a work trip.

"I wasn't mad at that." She snapped. "You just won't let it go. There was. It hung wrong. You couldn't go. It's whatever." She shrugged her shoulder and shook her head.

If she said what she was thinking she'd hurt his feelings and she didn't want to do that. She looked at the therapists for a topic change but didn't get one. "I love you Jake and I'm glad your comfortable enough to share things with me. I am happy." She told him.

The therapists wrote down some more things and then looked at Adri, "Alright. Let's focus on you now Adri. What was your life like before Jake?"

"I was living on my own. I broke up with my boyfriend of a couple years a few months before I started working for Jake."

"And how old were you?"

Adri thought about it, "21 when I started working for him."

The therapist nodded her head and wrote stuff down. "So it's safe to say you haven't been on your own very long. Then you date Jake, then Owen and then engagement.Add being a working woman to that. That's a lot for a young woman. How does that make you feel?"

Adri shrugged her shoulder, "it's a lot. Sometimes it feels like too much but it's not like I can quit or stop. I just make I work the best I can."

The therapist glanced at Jake and then back at Adri, "Do you feel like Jake is helping you through it?"

Adri made a face, "He helps with Owen. He likes my job when I don't have to travel for it. I haven't started planning the wedding and I feel like he's upset about that, especially since Amy got married first."

"I didn't think we should just let things go but talk about it. I'm again just explaining how I felt..." He let out a sigh and looked away." He let out a sigh.

His eyes looked at her and nodded. "I love you too." He wished she would just say how she felt. Even if it hurt.

When she said everything she was doing and the therapist mentioned she has done a lot and at her age, he looked at her. "Adri I'm your biggest fan regardless of where you work. If you're home or not. I'm not mad about the wedding planning. I just know I want to marry you and am excited for it to happen." He looked at the therapist then Adri again. "I'll work on helping out more." It was starting to sound to him she wasn't as ready as she thought to marry him and be a mother. He looked down as it started to hit him. He didn't want to hold her back.
