The "greatest country in the world" at doing... what, exactly?

What ever it is we could actually agree on. If we could stop playing whose fault it is, or gimme the money, then I think we'd be the number one nation.

I see us being willing to work so hard for something as a great asset to our society even if its just for a stupid car. If we could channel it towards something much more progressive I think it would make us the greatest country in the world. If we could all be put behind a don't think there is a thing the American society couldn't do... only problem is trying to get us all to agree on a cause.

Frankly, though, this is kind of a truism for nations everywhere. And it's a problem for nations everywhere, too: not everybody can be convinced to go the same direction. There have been times, of course, such as the U.S. during WWII, Britain during WWII... Germany before and during WWII...
