It was a very exciting night for the Foster family. For a few months they had been saving up their money to go to the theatre. Both Richard and Katherine Foster had adored the live arts. Both had participated in them during their school and college days. In fact, it was during theatre class at Straton University, that the pair had met and fallen in love. These were the type of people that should have been seen at every play, ballet, and opera.

However, Richard’s company took a nosedive and, as CEO, he decided to be one of the ones that took a pay cut rather than have his employees suffer. Katherine never finished her degree. She had become pregnant her third year with Richard’s baby and decided to drop out and be a stay at home mother. Money had been very tight for a few years and, as Maria got older, things became a lot harder to handle financially.

An outing like this was a real treat for the trio… well, at least it was for Maria’s parents. At the age of thirteen, the young girl could have thought of better things to be doing on a Saturday than being at the ballet. Things that didn’t require her to dress up and have her hair fused with. Not to mention it was boring and the plot was difficult to follow. Some dialogue wouldn’t have hurt anything!

When intermission came, the gangly curly haired preteen nearly burst from her seat. Her mother gave a roll of her eyes but let the bored blonde do what she wanted for now. It was a lot to ask that someone so young sit through the many hours that the production took but the couple didn’t have much of a choice; they couldn’t afford a babysitter. Maria bounded out into the lobby. There were so many people there! All of them looked like they were having a good time. Some cast her nasty glances and she glared back. It was likely her dress that was causing the uproar. Unlike their gowns worth hundreds of hundreds of dollars, Maria and her family were decked out in things that could be found at the local mall. It looked just as good! She crossed her arms over her chest and proceeded to find a corner to sulk in.

Though her sulking didn’t last long. Despite how bored she thought with the entire thing was, the adorable girl did think that the some of the dancing was neat. How could those girls stay up on their toes like that without breaking them? They also had such amazing body control. Without really caring Maria began to attempt some of the things she saw. Without her knowing, she was actually doing some of the things decently. More so than children here age that had practiced Pointe and ballet and various forms of dance.

Joy sprung to life in her vivid green eyes. Wow! That was much more fun to do than to watch. No wonder why people didn’t say anything while they did it! Subtle movements could tell more than words. It was an epiphany short lived. A small crowd formed around the dancing girl but she didn’t care.

“Maria Julianne Foster!” a voice exclaimed. An angry redheaded woman in a blue dress was standing over her. She had the same bright green eyes as Maria. Yikes. All three of her names were used. Instantly she stopped and hung her head. A bright red stain began to form on her cheeks and traveled down her slender neck. She looked down at her shiny black shoes and pulled nervously at her tight spiral curls. She looked very doll-like at that moment, which was probably her only saving grace at that point.

Katherine sighed and pulled her little girl gently out of the fray of people, who were whispering to themselves. Apparently they thought her parents had put all of their money into finding a good dance school for her and they were wondering which one it was so they could put their own children inside. Once away from the whispering and muttering group she turned back to the blonde.

“You know better than to do something like that in public,” she chastised. “I know I have taught you better manners than that.”

“I know, mom,” Maria relented. This was not a place to get into the ‘yeah buts’ and the teen knew that it was something she wasn’t going to win even if she did. “I just wanted to try it out.”

“Well, you can try it out when you get home. Let’s go find our seats again. Daddy is probably still there.”

The show was turning out to be rather boring for him. Everyone spoke well of the troupe, but there was too many misteps and faults that he was able to find in their work. Missing the Synchronizing of the dance, small trips that they picked up from, all these little things that the others didn't seem to notice, but it was glaringly obvious to him. Maybe he had just seen too many performers in his lifetime, but this show was definitely not up to his version of par. Thankfully, the intermission came up soon, and he had to have been the first out of his seat, if not the first out of the theater proper.

The moment he went out of the theater doors, his hand reached up, pinching the bridge of his nose as his eyes closed, trying to reduce the small bit of pressure that seemed to have built up in his head. He wasn't use to being at such low altitudes as the theater was, and it was giving him slight pressure headaches. But it wasn't anything he couldn't deal with. He grabbed a cup of water and downed it, expecting a rather boring second half of the show when he heard sounds coming from the corner.

His head turned, to see a crowd of people encompassing the corner area. He walked over to see what the commotion was about, having to push respectfully through some of the people to see a young girl dancing to her own music. It was rather interesting to watch, to say the least. She wasn't as refined as most as he had seen, but she had natural talent with the field.

Soon, though, he heard what he assumed was the mother coming towards her, speaking ill words to the young child. The crowd was dispersing, except for him. He watched the small exchange before stepping forward.

"I hate to intrude, Madam, But your daughter has some real talent. She isn't as refined as those that have gone to school, but she is a natural with the cultured act."

Maria positively beamed at the compliment and, no matter how hard she may have tried to hide it, so did Katherine. The woman had always wanted to put her daughter into some sort of lesson but, with the money constraints, had never been able to. Sadly she did not have the skill to teach the child herself either. Maria also never showed any interest in it until her little childish display.

“Thank you, sir,” she replied. She then turned to Maria who was staring at the man. Like any teenage girl she was a ball of hormones. The man had instantly gained her attention. Her mother sighed and gave the blonde a small pat on the back, knocking her out of that haze she was in.

“Oh yeah, thanks!” Maria said. A blush had crept on her cheeks and she pulled at the bottom of her dress. Katherine sighed and rolled her eyes. Teenagers weren’t that skilled at hiding their crushes.

The woman took a gander at her wrist watch and cringed. The show was going to start up again in three minutes. Getting into the theater was going to be a chore at this rate. She gave a polite smile to the man addressing them. "The show should be starting again soon. We should be sitting down again. Your father is going to think we've fell in the toilet."

His eyes seemed to dance, going back and forth between the woman and her daughter. It was obvious that he hit a note with his comment. They were overjoyed, he could feel it coming off the both of them in waves, and her daughter seemed to be rather interested in him.

"Well..." He started, before she made a comment about how the show was going to be back in session in minutes. "Meet me after the show." He said, walking past them to the theater. It was going to be easy for them to find him: He was wearing a rather different clothing than the others in the area: Black pants and shirt, and a cape of black outside and red inside. He simply sat down in his seat, waiting for after the show, to have a better conversation.

(sorry it's short. too distracted)

The rest of the show passed far too slowly for Maria. She knew that her mother was going to continue that conversation with the man after the ballet was over. As soon as they had gotten back she had told her father everything in an excited whisper. Though he did not seem as comfortable with it as the two ladies had. He never liked it when a strange adult came up to his daughter to give her a compliment. Katherine simply rolled her eyes, it was her favorite thing to do, and playfully hit her husband’s arm.

Finally it had ended. Everyone stood up and clapped. Everyone clapped and cheered for what seemed like a long time. Maria stood there, pulling nervously at one of her spiral curls. Why did this have to go on so long?! She wanted to see the man who dressed like a prince again. Yes, it was a childish thing to equate him with, but the young teenager did. The blonde had her head in the clouds and still held great stock in fairy tales.

After all of the ruckus died down, everyone streamed from the theatre. The slender little girl stood on her tiptoes but many towered over her and the most she got to see was the back of someone’s head. Her mother also did not make things easier; her hand was tightly clamped around her daughter’s. Her father had gone ahead to start the car. It was a chilly evening, cooler than normal for that time of year, and he wanted to make sure that the vehicle was nice and warm for his two favorite ladies.

“Mom,” Maria started, “Where is that man? You’re going to talk to him again, aren’t you?”

“Of course I am,” the redhead replied. “He pointed out your talent. I always knew you had it.”

“You never said anything about my talent before.”

There was a silence after that as Katherine looked around. After a few minutes searching she had found what she was looking food and took her child’s hand gently, tugging her along. The red flicker from the underside of his cape was the first thing that Maria noticed. Her face flushed deeply.

“Sir?” her mother said to him. “You wanted to talk after the show.”
((That is alright))

The rest of the show seemed to go along rather quickly. It was surprising to him, since the opening acts were much better, at least in his thoughts. The further they went into the show, the more mistakes he found. Missteps, missed ques, speeding up in front of others in the show. They weren't nearly as good with covering it up as the previous group. It was something that would make a talent agent cry. Perhaps even rip his own eyes out. He was thankful to have it over.

Of course, he stood and clapped with everyone else. But he didn't stay nearly as long as they did, turning from his seat while everyone was still hollering and clapping, and heading to the opening hall, taking one of the remaining glasses of wine and downing it as he waited for the girl and her mother. He waited, and waited, and soon, he was starting to get impatient. But, he couldn't hold it against them if they couldn't find him. The room was crowded with the people from the show coming out, talking about how well it went.

The room lessened in people soon, though, and a few minutes they were over to him. He had pulled out a flask from his side, which had flipped part of his cape, showing the red underneath, almost like a signal to them. Though, if it was any sort of signal besides showing where he was, it was extremely subtle. He heard the words of the mother, unscrewing the top of the flask as he listened, and he smiled. "Yes, I did."

He took a small drink from the flask, his teeth flashing for half a second afterward, with what seemed to be a red tint or stain to them. But when he started talking afterward, the stain was gone. "Yes, your daughter has some real talent in her, and it would be a shame to have it wasted without lessons. That is why..." His hand reached up his sleeve, pulling out what looked like a rather large clip of money. "...I have decided to fund for her schooling in a academy, to help her in her studies. Of course, I could help her afterward with finding a group to work with."

His words sent a ripple of excitement through the teenager. She took his hand in his, nearly shaking from the amount of sheer emotion that was going through. It was revealed that she still had a tooth growing in from when she recently lost her final baby tooth. Quickly she took it back, blushing profusely. She hoped that her movement wasn’t enough to spill the contents of the flask in his other hand.

Her mother on the other hand looked completely and utterly shocked. What sort of man would fund a child that they barely knew? A skeptical look passed over her attractive features. Something about it did not feel right. However, the knowledge that her child could go down the path Katherine never could and whatever common sense she had flew out the window.

“Really?” she asked. Her eyes locked on the money. With their daughter’s schooling completely paid for, saving money would become much easier. “Sir, are you sure about this? I mean that is a lot of money to give to people you don’t know.”

Maria simply stared at him, eyes barely moving. Maybe he really was her prince charming! Though she quickly batted that idea from her mind. He was just offering some money so she could do something she was good at. "Won't daddy have to know?" she asked her mother, snapping out her crush haze.

"Daddy would want this for you," Katherine replied curtly.

He felt her take his hand, then quickly let go. He wasn't shaken at all, his flask hardly moving in the other hand. He lifted it to his lips, listening to their words, while savoring the taste of his drink. It was a long moment before he said anything else, and the mother was speaking to her child when he interjected.

"I have no problem with giving up a small portion of my money to help a child reach a dream." He said in a low voice. "I have more than enough, I have spent a decent amount of it on others to help them. Take the money, and put her in a good academy. Though, I will keep a eye on her, to make sure she's doing good."

He Turned from them, heading to the door. "And then, of course, I will help her get some good work after she is done with the academy. I'll keep in touch." Before they could follow his movements, he was gone.

The money had been put to good use. The following Monday her mother had contacted many schools, trying to get her daughter in. The amount of cash was enough for even the most prestigious school to turn a blind eye to the fact that Maria had no training prior and accept her. Though it meant sending her away and only seeing their child in the summer, Katherine and Richard gladly sacrificed that to make sure that their daughter’s success was guaranteed.

During the years of schooling, the young blonde shifted from being an awkward teenager to a lovely young woman. Dancing had crafted her body in a lithe yet delicate manner. Her long limbs appeared to be slender but held strength. Her curls had not softened and the tight spiral curls reached her mid back. Despite being a ballerina, she had developed an hour glass figure with nice firm breasts, a nipped in waist, rounded hips, and a shapely ass. Her large vivid green eyes had not lost any of the innocence they had when she was a little girl and her lips had formed into a perfect cupid’s bow.

Today was the day of her graduation and she was very excited. The young woman was wearing the typical ceremonial gown that graduates ware, swimming in the fabric. It had been a very boring ordeal. People came up to speak, saying how wonderful and full of potential each and every one of their students were. It was a load of crap. There were a few people there that did not have enough talent to fill a thimble. Being as skilled as she was, Maria had developed her dancing abilities to near perfection. Only a few people were on the same level as she was.

It wasn’t her being conceited. Maria was just honest with her own abilities.

As she threw the cap up in the air with everyone else she wondered if that man was there. After all of the years that had passed, she still remembered him fondly. He was the mysterious benefactor that made it possible for her to find her passion. Though she never learned his name she had developed a deeper crush on him. Finally they were set free to see their parents.

Her mother and father were waiting for her. Tears were in her mother’s eyes. She was so happy for her. Maria smiled and hugged both of them. They had been separated for months and if felt good to be reunited with them every time.

He was watching her graduation, sitting further in the back like he was accustomed too. He politely clapped at everyone that had gone up, though even he had to admit that he clapped a little harder when Maria went up. He had to admit, he was proud of her abilities, going in with her own talents and coming out with much more.

He was first out of the auditorium, wearing the same clothes that he had worn all those years ago, when they had first seen him. Though, they were only human, he doubted that they would remember it, even if they had seen him enough times as he checked up on them, seeing how her schooling was going. The rush of people coming out was something he expected, and he got the sudden flashback to several years ago in that theater. But he easily shook it out of his head, finding the girl and her parents, walking over to them.

He bowed in their presence, his eyes finding Maria easily and locking on hers as he stood. "I am happy to hear about your graduation from the academy." He said, in his usual low voice. He was sure they were accustomed to that tone of his. "And like I said, I could get her some work that she can use her talents with. I'm sure she would be willing to send you easy money that she gets." His words were directed to her parents. "There is a lot of money in dance and acting now-a-days."

A flush passed the young woman’s cheeks as he approached. He looked exactly as he had on the day they first met. He had even donned the same outfit, though it looked quite out of place in this setting. Her heart raced a little bit as he approached. Without noticing, she fixed and fiddle with the abundant pale blonde curls. Her mother sighed a little and smiled at the man. Her father, too, smiled. Over the years he had warmed up considerably to the man, even if he found him a little odd.

Sometimes Maria had a hard time hearing him. His voice was so soft and the crowd around them was so loud that it made it especially difficult that evening. Though she hung on to his every word and listened very closely. A smile spread across her full lips. Yes. Her job. The man had thoroughly spoiled her when it came to her talents and career. The lovely young blonde was expecting nothing but the best. Her heart fluttered. Her passion had paid off big. Who would have thought that her little embarrassment would turn into something so profitable?

Her parents both liked to hear that their daughter would be able to send them some money. Even though their situation had gotten much better over the years, they still had a tight budget. Maria would be more than happy to oblige, too. She loved both her mother and father very deeply. They had supported her so thoroughly and were so proud of her abilities.

“You have been so kind to our baby,” Katherine said, dabbing her red eyes with a tissue. “We don’t know how we can ever repay you for it. You have helped her reach her dream and still continue to help her to find work.”

“There has to be something we can do to pay you back for all of this,” Richard added. He squeezed his daughter close to him and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Maria chimed in. Her voice shook and was a little loud, making people stare, “You’ve really been a help to, you know, me. I am very grateful for everything you’ve done. Without you I wouldn’t have realized my true talent or the sheer joy of the dance.”

The praises for him nearly hit him like a wall, and he held up his hand to them. "You don't have to give me anything for helping her." He said softly. "I'm sure she will be happy enough with work. Helping others, that is what is important." He turned to Maria, bowing slightly. "I think I will be at your house in about a week. Make sure you are packed, you'll be on your own for a while. But I'll make sure you are accommodated."

He turned to the father, pulling out the flask and taking a small drink from it. "Make sure she has everything in order by around 6 PM. I'll be there sharp." He turned around, waited a half second for any interruptions, knowing there wouldn't be any because of the extraordinary opportunity he was giving her, then he walked off, around the corner to where his ride was.

He had a lot of things to set up. There was a lot of work to get the stage up, and the rest of the actors and dancers. And the most important part of the aspect. Oh, she will get a lot of money. But it wouldn't be from dancing.

The week was full of grating anticipation. Sleep had been nearly impossible for the eighteen year old girl. Her first job as a dancer! Not many people were given the opportunity to be able to do what they truly loved. Not many people were able to pursue their greatest passion. During those seven days she had packed, unpacked, and packed again. The beautiful young blonde not sure what to bring. Of course she was going to have to take all of her dancing gear and her new pair of Pointe shoes. They were bright red and made of satin; a special gift from her parents on the night of her graduation. Some practical every day clothing would be needed. The rest could be mailed to her new apartment.

When she wasn’t packing she was breaking in the new shoes by practicing. She practiced for hours on end, perfecting her art. Her movements were graceful, like the lean movements of a cat. Her heart was filled with such joy and that was reflected in her dance.

Finally that day came and she was ready. Two suitcases were filled with her necessities and she had a large box filled with various shoes. That night she was wearing a pair of dark wash jeans skinny jeans, black knee high flat boots, a pink tank, and a denim bolero that matched the material of her pants. She fussed with her hair again as her mother kissed her on the forehead and her father waited for the doorbell to ring.

Everyone was so eager. They had no idea what the man truly had in store for her.

The whole week was spent in preparations for him, as well. He had to get her room ready, making it a rather comfortable - if not a tease to the senses. But eventually, the day came, and he set off towards her house, in his limo. He was use to going on foot, but carrying her wasn't going to be a option that day. It was a sad revelation there, but it had to be done. The door closed and the driver started off. A long ride, though it would allow for some retrospect and introspect.

He already had ideas formulating in his head. Wheels within wheels. Things the parents will know, things that only Maria will know, things that nobody but him will know. He was careful in his self-deliberations. He didn't leave any holes in his plans. There never was any loopholes or the like. And he figured that this would go off without a hitch.

Eventually, they pulled up at her house, and he got out of the limo, going to the door and ringing the door bell. The door was quickly answered by her father. "Good Evening, sir. If Maria is ready, we can get going. I'm sorry if I seem curt at the moment, but there is a lot of things for her to do before she turns in, and I have a decent amount of work to finish."

The parents had already said their goodbyes to her before the benefactor had come. Though her mother let out a soft cry and her father scooped her up in a crushing hug before picking up her luggage. Maria herself was holding her shoes very closely to her body. There was something so final about this step. Something that made her tremble with fear and anticipation of the unknown.

“Of course,” her father managed as he began walking out to the vehicle. He let out a low and loud whistle as he saw the limousine. Such a thing was almost novel to him. Nobody rode around in them very much anymore. He smiled. It was a nice one, too. It was good to see that someone was so well to do.

Maria followed. She moved like a robot as she walked towards the vehicle behind her father. Her mother had decided to stay inside; unable to watch her baby leave once more after such a short time home. Later that night Maria would call and make sure to tell her that her baby made it safely to her new home. A smile curled across her lips and she pecked her father on the cheek.

“Bye-bye daddy,” she told him. “Tell mom that I will give her a ring when I get fully settled in. I love you guys very much. I’ll send some money from my first check to help with the bills.”

“Take care, baby girl. You do your best.” He placed her bags in the back. He knew how much she worried about her things and wouldn’t feel comfortable with them in the trunk. He then assisted his child into the back of the limo with her stuff.

“Thank you for taking such good care of our little girl,” he said, turning to the man. “I know she is in good hands with you.”

He nodded to her father, before leading them to the limo. He opened the door for them, followed by closing the trunk when her father put her bags into the back of the limo. He was unused to something like that, but he didn't pip up on it. A mistake here would ruin years of planning. And he wasn't going to start over on that.

"She will be well taken care of, I promise you." He said to her father, letting her get in first, before moving to the door, getting ready to get in himself. "She will call the moment she gets there. And then she can pack in. He sat down in the seat, looking up at her father, giving another not before closing the door, the limo driver taking off almost immediately, making haste for him.

The ride would take forever, and he was one to get lost in his own thoughts. He moved to the side chair, moving there to watch the countryside go by as they drove off to his estate. He would be silent until she pipped up.

Nerves had gotten the better of her for the first thirty minutes of the ride. Here was the man that she had a crush on for years, sitting right beside her. For some reason she thought he would be a little more talkative and would start the conversation. Finally the silence was too much for the normally chatty and talkative blonde. She cleared her throat and attempted to relax against the soft cushions of the seats. The box full of her footwear rested between the two.

“Um,” she started nervously, wringing her delicate hands together and chipping away at the pink nail polish there. Her teeth held her bottom lip brutally as she searched her mind for something to say. “I suppose you are getting really annoyed with my family thanking you so much. I know I would after awhile.”

It was certainly a strange way to start a conversation. Sweat appeared on her palms and she wiped them on her pants, groaning slightly at her silly words. Her heart was beating too fast for her comfort and a strange sickness churned in her stomach. If she didn’t know any better, she would have sworn that her body was trying to tell her something was going to happen. But she pushed it off as uncertainty.

“Sooooo, uh, how did you come by all of this money? You seem like a young guy. Did you inherit it all?”

Another obnoxious line. She screwed up her mouth and rolled her eyes. Why was she behaving like she was a little girl all over again? It was terribly annoying.

His body was rather loose, leaning back against his seat, arms stretched out so that he took a good amount of that part of the limo. His eyes watched the window, watching the rolling countryside, from the grassy plains to the forest that they went through. The forest was the longest part of the trip: once they were through that, they would almost be to his estate.

He heard her words, and he smiled softly, though he didn't turn his head to look at her. "It doesn't bother me." He said softly. "I'm use to being thanked. Though, they do need to realize that I don't want anything in return." He turned his head towards her after her other question, laughing slightly. "I worked my ass off to get enough money, that's how." He turned his head back to watch the trees pass them by at high speeds. He didn't speak too much after that.

The trees soon gave way tot he mountains, and he turned to her. "We're almost there. It'll only be a few minutes."

That was an awfully general answer. She looked at him for a few seconds. What she wanted to know is what he did for a living. Maybe she would be able to give pointers to her father and mother. He was younger than her parents. Or at least appeared to be and he was doing much better than them. Hell, he was doing much better than most people she knew. Though she decided not to push it. He had mentioned almost being there and her heart gave a leap. It would be exciting to see the place she was going to be staying at for the first few months she was doing her job. Excitedly she stared out the window.

“I am really interesting to see what your place looks like,” she said. “I probably have never seen something so big before. Well, besides in a movie or a tv show.”

For some reason she felt boring. This wasn’t normally her. She felt like she had more emotional depth than what she was showing him. He must of thought her vapid. She sighed and her shoulders slumped forward, allowing for a small valley of cleavage to be shown.

He smiled when he heard her words, though he missed the cleavage show she was giving because he turned his head towards the driver. It was about three minutes before the limo started to slow down, and it took a full turn instead of the slight wobbles that they felt most of the way there. The limo stopped, and the driver came out, walking around to the door and opening it for them. He was the first one out, helping her with her bags before helping her out of the limo.

The estate was rather large. It looked to be about three stories from the outside, rather old looking, though refurbished to look brand new. The left and right wings stretched out so where they were was like a central courtyard between the two wings, and the entrance to their front. He lifted her bag up, and led her to the entrance hall.

The entrance hall was larger on the inside than it looked in the outside. The ceiling was the room, a little more than three floors up, and the room could easily fit around 400 people. There was doors that led to other rooms to the left and right, and directly ahead of them was a large staircase, made of marble like the floor and the columns that littered the room. The stairs led to the second and third floor, branching to the left and right wings.

"Do you have a cell phone, or do you need to borrow one?" He asked softly.

It was more than she imagined as she stepped out of the limo. It was huge and looked like it had been on the estate for hundreds of years, brought back to its former glory. The courtyard was expansive and, in the dark, it looked like a scene from Gone With the Wind. With an impressed gasp she followed him, eyes darting around and head on a swivel so she could take everything in. She was going to have to take pictures and send them to her parents.

The entrance hall was even more extravagant. It reminded her of a scene from Cinderella. Any moment she expected to see a beautiful princess descend the stairs. That would make sense, too. She had always viewed this man as a prince. A playful smile crossed her lips and she couldn’t suppress a giggle. There was probably a gorgeous woman wandering the halls that did wear froory dresses and spoke with an angelic timbre.

She was snapped out of her fantasy as she was spoke to. “I have a cellphone. I’ll give them a call.” She walked a little bit away from her luggage and her benefactor and pulled out her phone. With her back turned to him, it would be hard not to notice her heart shaped butt in those tight jeans. The phone was a bricklike pay-as-you go thing. She looked down and saw she only had a few minutes left. That was alright. It would be a quick call until she could get more minutes the next day.

She dialed her number quickly. To her surprise she was met with the answering machine. A smile crossed her lips. He must have taken her mother out to help take her mind off of losing her daughter. After the beep she left a quick message about arriving, how beautiful the mansion was, that she would call them back, and most importantly that she loved them. After that was done she slipped the phone back in her small purse and walked back towards her luggage.

“So, which room am I staying in?”

He heard her words, nodding as she turned away to call her family. He wasn't paying attention to her form, having turned away and looked over the entrance hall quickly. He could hear the words to her parents clearly, though he didn't really pay too much attention to them. He was more interested in something on his hand. A cut had somehow got his hand, and there was a drop of blood slowly tailing down his thumb. He lifted his hand, tongue easily flicking along it, cleaning it off and sealing the cut itself.

He heard her question, tongue brushing the blood off his teeth and hiding his fangs as they withdrew back into his gums, his body turning towards her. "Yes, your room will be on the second floor. Follow me." He turned from her, heading to the stairs and taking her towards the left wing. It was a few hallways through what felt like a maze to some, before he opened a door on the left side. He stepped aside, letting her in before him. "Your room."

The room was rather large, but there was no windows or lamps. Instead, there were candles lining the walls, many of them, all lit, giving off a aura of haunting beauty of the room. There were three wardrobes, one empty, one full, and one locked. Against the far wall, laying out towards them, was a large canopy bed, black drapes blocking the view of the black and red covers that was on it.

If she would have noticed his fangs, she might have become frightened. Now she was eager to set up her room and stretch out on the bed. The mattress was likely to be the best money could buy, soft and fluffy with a down comforter thrown on to make it more so. She followed with her things happily but soon became confused. This place was a veritable labyrinth! Getting to know this place was going to be a pain. The beautiful blonde could see herself getting lost for hours. She began to look around so she could remember anything significant to help mark her way.

Finally they got to the room and she stepped inside. Maria was instantly taken aback. This was out of some gothic fantasy. Gently she set her bags and box down and began to walk around the room, taking everything in. There were no windows or electric lights, just many candles. They all gave off a soft glow. The bed reminded her of something that the creator of Hot Topic might sleep in.

The hairs on the back of her rose and an uneasy feeling set in. Beauty aside, and she was indeed enveloped by it, but something was very strange about the entire thing. She rubbed her arms through her coat and turned to face him.

“It’s gorgeous,” she replied. “You’ve got a nice fairy tale thing going. The candles are pretty neat.” There was a pause in her speech and she swallowed a lump that formed in her throat. “Are all the rooms without electricity?”

He walked in after her, watching her look around the room in wonder. Indeed, this was one of his favorite rooms in the estate, but he decided to let her have it for her stay. She turned around, with praise, then a question. He laughed soflty. "Of course there is electricity in the house. But only in certain rooms. I prefer the light from candles."

He turned from her, heading back into the hallway. "If you could come with me, There is something important at hand, and of course, dinner." He waited for her before leading her back down to the entrance hall, going to the first floor and a door that was off to the side. He explained all the way to the room: "Recently, there has been a rather dangerous disease that had been going around, and I have wanted to make sure that you were safe. So, I got a vaccine to make sure you didn't get ill."

He opened the door into what looked like a large study. The walls, except for one part in the wall opposite where there was a fireplace, was covered in bookshelves, all of them full of books of various things. There was always something of interest in those shelves. The fireplace was roaring, lighting up the room for them, and warming it. There was two chairs in front of the fire, with a small table between them, holding a tray and two syringes.

"I promise they wont hurt too much." He said softly, moving to sit in one chair, and gesturing to the other.

It was a silly question for her to ask. Of course there had been electricity in the rest of the house. The entrance room had been well lit. She sighed and held her own head. The lovely young woman felt so stupid. The prospect of dinner was enough to perk her up, however. Being a dancer had burnt a lot of calories away during the day and Maria ate more than what someone would expect of a tiny girl like her.

She followed him without any qualms. Her nerves had probably betrayed her. There was nothing wrong with this man. He had been there to support her in her dreams and he now invited him into his home. His tastes were just a little eccentric, that was all. She had met stranger people, mostly the teachers and those who supported her Fine Arts Academy. She winced at the thought of getting a vaccine. Needles freaked her out.

As they went into the room she let out a whimper upon seeing the injections. Maria was fairly healthy. Even if she were to get a bug, she could get over it. She fidgeted and watched as he sat down.

“Um… isn’t there a nasal mist I can take?” she asked nervously. Her mouth went dry. She didn’t want to seem like she was shooting down his kindness. With a stiff gait she took the seat beside him. Her whole body was quivering she was starting to feel that sense of danger again.
