It was very warm and the streets of the city where crowded with people in to visit the massive market district. It was perfect for someone who wished to move threw the city and remain unnoticed. That was exactly what Adrien wanted to do, it was easier said then done for someone who's build was larger then normal. He was nearly 6' tall, a trait that he loved allowing him to both see things over the crowd and reach hand grips while climbing. His brown and green cloak had been chosen to match the clothing of most of the people who would be walking threw the town.

He slipped silently threw the crowds careful to avoid anyone brushing against the blades that where hidden under his long cloak. He carefully followed the small crowd surrounding the man he came to this city to find. A very wealthy business man who had been on a list of those who had bribed the man who killed his father. It was hard for him to stay his blade even now after several years of training and searching. The anger for the men on that list still raged inside him, he longed for the day when he could retire his blade after avenging his father.

As he slipped threw the town he did his best to avoid contact with anyone trying simply to go unnoticed. Though he lost sight of prey briefly and that worried him he still was not aware of where the man was staying. He sped up trying to find the man again doing his best to run threw the dense crowd. A miss placed step and a light push sent him slamming into a young woman his hands gripping her sides to help prevent her from falling. "Forgive me malady. I hope i did you no harm. " His dark green eyes showing out of his hood his brown hair falling slightly in his face as he looked down at the face of the woman he had in his gentle grip.

The day had been fairly normal for the young woman as she silently and gracefully moved through the market square with her lady in waiting. Faye was on a little outing with some allowance money from her father to amuse herself while he worked. The 5'6" woman was tall compared to others her age but she rather liked being tall because it made it easier to reach books at home in the library. Faye was a pretty young woman, the daughter of one of the wealthiest merchants in the city and it showed by how she was often dressed. Her father enjoyed flaunting his wealth so he had his daughter wear the finest of clothing that could be afforded. The only woman that was dressed finer was the queen.

At the moment she wore a dark blue gown that had blood red long belled out sleeves and neck line with gold embroidery. Her long dark hair was pulled back into a waist long plait that was then looped up and held in place with a golden hair pin. Faye loved how her father doted upon her and she really couldn't be happier except for one thing. Love. The girl wished for love. Luckily for her, her father promised not to force her into any unwanted marriages like most other fathers did. Though her father did request that she consider some of the offers.

That's what was on her mind as she made her way through the crowd. And that's what caused her to be taken by surprise when someone ran into her. She dropped the basket of things she was carrying and nearly fell over. She would of fallen if it hadn't of been for the strong hands gripping her sides and holding her up. Hearing a mans voice, she slowly opened her pale grey eyes and looked up into the face of the man holding her and she blushed a little. "No... no harm done." she replied softly. "But if you don't mind, this is quite inappropriate." She was referring to how he held her and how close they were.

He smiled releasing her from his grip and moving to kneel before her gathering up the contents of the basket slowly. "I would not say it was inappropriate I was simply sparing a young lady a vicious fall. And in thanks she rewarded me with a few precious moments of closeness and a brief gaze into her lovely eyes. " He had always been a flirt and it had gotten him into trouble plenty. He had a soft spot in his rapidly hardening heart for beautiful women.

"I do insist you allow me to repay you for the offense and injury i caused you. The would would never forgive me for harming such a lovely flower. " He smiled standing slowly his eyes finding hers again holding the now refilled basket out for her. His strong build masked slightly by the thick leather armor he wore under his cloak. The armor that now showed it self slightly as the cloak had parted in the crash.

She slowly stepped back from him after he released her and it was then that she noticed that her basket had spilled. "Oh darn." she mumbled, crouching down to gather the items that had fallen out. Most was fruit and a couple of trinkets that had caught her eye, though there were some things for sewing. But most of the items in the basket were flowers. There was some mimosa, passionflower, white periwinkle, purple hyacinth, pink gillyflower and day lily. They were mostly flowers that would be found in a cemetery, which was actually where she was headed.

At his offer to repay her, she tilted her head slightly with a small smile. "And how would you repay me?" she asked softly while blushing a little, holding the bouquet of flowers close to her chest while gazing up at him. A lock of her wavy hair had come from from the plait it was in and now hung next to her face. Reaching out, she gently took the basket and placed the bouquet inside once again before looking at him again, her red lips quirking up a bit into a smile. Before he could answer how ever, an older woman rushed up to them. "My lady. Oh my lady, I had thought I'd lost you." the woman said. "Are you alright?" This caused Faye to laugh softly and she nodded. "Yes nurse, I'm quite alright."

He smiled as the nurse rushed over reaching into the basking pulling out one of the lilies smelling it and smiling. "She is quite alright now malady she just had a bit of a run it with a man who was not watching his path. " He smiled over to the older woman bowing his head looking before returning his gaze to the young woman. "I would repay you by allowing you to give me this flower to remember you by and telling me the name which i shall for ever call its kind. "

His smile turned into a smirk as he slipped the flower into a small slit in his cloak so it would hang there gently. "Though perhaps if you wish more i could offer you my company on the rest of your journey to ensure that you are kept safe from miscreants bumping into you. " His eyes locked on hers wondering if she would find this particular type of flirting acceptable or not. It was always hit or miss when it came to the confidant approach.

Faye arched an eyebrow when he chose one of the day lilies and she giggled softly before looking at her nurse again and smiling at her. "Yes nurse, he's been very kind. He even helped to gather my things when they fell." she said before looking at the man again and she chuckled again. "I would, but I'm afraid that a day lily just won't do. While it is bright in color and bold, it is the emblem of the mother." Moving forward, she gently plucked the brightly colored flower from his cloak and returned it to the many flowers before picking out a different one. "This one. The white periwinkle. While it may be simple and small, it stands for pleasures of memory." She gently slipped the flower into the slit in his cloak and smiled gently.

"As for my name.... I might tell you it. If you would escort us to our destination." she said. As she spoke, she ignored her nurses tsking and disapproving look. "Such shameless flirting." the older woman said. "When I was your age, girls didn't dare speak with a young man so freely. It could lead to trouble." Faye just rolled her eyes and looked at her. "Be still nurse. There is no harm in a pleasant conversation with someone closer to my own age."

His eyes sparked when she replaced the flower leaning in to whisper into he ear as she placed it in his cloak. His voice barely loud enough to travel the short distance from his lips to her ears. "When she was our age the had yet to learn to speak. " He chuckled leaning back smiling. "I would gladly walk you to your destination though i have a problem. I never escort anyone who's name i do not know. How could i tell them when they are in danger if i can not call their name. " He smiled adjusting his cloak slightly to make sure his blades remained hidden.

He smiled reaching out allowing his hand to take hers over the handle of the basket. Slowly fingers separated her hand from the handle allowing him to take the basket. "And once i know your name i shall escort you though i do insist on taking any of the burdens you may have no matter how light. " He smiled again his eyes leaving her's only for a moment to ensure he was not drawing to much attention.

Her eyes widened at his whispered words and she covered her mouth to stifle a laugh before looking up at him while shaking her head slightly. "That's not very nice sir." she said softly before stepping back from him. "Oh, very well. My name is Faye Halliwell. But you may call me Faye." She blushed when he placed his hand over hers which was holding the basket and she looked down as he slowly took it from her and she smiled again as he pulled the basket away. "Thank you." she said softly before turning to her nurse. "Are you ready nurse?" she asked and the older woman nodded with a small frown.

Smiling happily, Faye started walking once again in the direction her destination was. As they walked in the direction of the cemetary, the streets would get less crowded and it would get easier to walk. Her nurse walked on the left of her, prattling on about how things had been when she was a young woman and Faye couldn't help but chuckle and shake her head.

Adrien smiled as they began to walk he recognized the name and placed her instantly. He had been researching this town for months. "I do not think your father would appreciate a strange man treating his daughter such. I think for the sake of your honor i will call you Lady Halliwell. " He smiled at her staying close to her the entire time ignoring the nurse as she prattled on.

He was more intent on making sure no one recognized him he had already had a few run ins with the local guards. Fortunately he had been able to avoid hurting them to badly though one would certainly need a few stitches. His head hung slightly keeping his face hidden from view as they slipped threw the town. He nodded glancing over at her as the crested the hill to the cemetery. "How long as it been since your mother passed?" He knew nothing of her family except for her and her father but her mentioning of the flower meaning mother had tipped him off.

She sighed and frowned slightly. "What my father doesn't know, won't hurt him." she whispered to him. "Besides, Lady Halliwell is my mother." She brushed the stray lock of hair back from her face, tucking it behind her ear with a gentle sigh. She glanced at her nurse then looked up at him again. "Even nurse does not call me Lady Halliwell. I am just the young miss of the house. Or Little Miss, as the stable manager likes to call me." She smiled affectionately at the mention of the stable manager.

As they crested the hill and she looked upon the cemetery, she sighed softly as a slightly somber mood fell around them. Even nurse became silent as they got closer to the cemetery. "It's been two years to the day." she said softly. "She had passed on when in labor with my brother. Neither of them made it. The doctor said something went wrong and they couldn't stop the bleeding." She felt tears prick the corners of her eyes and she cleared her throat. "I come here every couple of months to lay down flowers for her."

Adrien nodded and remained silent in reverence he would not interupt her morning. Once they reached the stone he knelt down placing the basket down before the young woman so she could arrange the flowers. His hand reached out from under his cloak pushing the dust and dirt off the stone silently. The only sound he made was the soft sound of his hand brushing against the stone.

He had grown numb to death around him since he had taken the role of its deliverer. He did not like to think about the others death effected it made him wary of his actions. He glanced at her briefly before moving back from her sight now that the stone was cleaned. This was her time to remember she did not need to see him in this moment.

Faye moved through the cemetery towards the large stone where her mother was buried and she looked up at it before glancing over at Adrien as he set down the basket. Smiling gratefully at him, she crouched down and lifted the flowers out of the basket and looked on as Adrien cleaned off her mothers headstone. She looked down at the flowers in her hand and sighed softly before moving forward after Adrien moved to the side. She knelt in front of the stone and bowed her head in prayer for a moment before reaching out and removing the dried and withered flowers that sat in front of the stone, tossing them aside before laying down the fresh ones.

For several long minutes she knelt there gazing at the name engraved in the stone until her nurse moved forward and placed her hand on the young woman's shoulder. "Come my dear." she said softly and Faye looked up. Nodding, the girl slowly stood up and nurse picked up the basket. "Your father will start to worry if you're out too late. Especially with your condition."

"If you wish i will walk you home Lady Halliwell. " He spoke softly not wanting to do so he had things that needed to be done. Though he would certainly do so if asked with pleasure he rather enjoyed walking the beautiful woman around. It made him feel human again, reminded him of the life he lead several years ago.

He smiled at the young woman as she stood knowing her pain he had felt it many years ago. He spoke softly reaching out touching her arm gently, letting his finger tips slip down slowly. "I would hate for your father to be worried about you. If you wish to stay longer i can run and tell him where you are and your plans. "

Looking up at him, she smiled gently and shook her head. "Thank you for you kind offer sir, but I've already taken up too much of your time. I'm sure you've more important things to do then walk around with a girl." she said gently. "Besides, we must stop at the apothecary on the way back." She felt her nurse slip her arm through her own and she began turning when he touched her arm and she paused, looking up at him again. At his offer to let her father know where she was, she smiled a little wider and placed her hand over his.

"Thank you, but I must go home anyways." she glanced up at the sky to see where the sun was and sighed. "If I do not head home now, it will start to get cold out as evening comes and I mustn't be caught in the cold." Next to her, her nurse nodded and patted the young womans arm. "The young miss is quite right. She must get home."

He smiled at her and took her hand gently placing a kiss lightly on on the back smiling. "It was a absolute delight to spend some time with you Lady Halliway. I do look forward to doing it again some time. " He spoke softly before turning and making his way quickly from the graveyard. His pace was a brisk walk he needed to go find his pray he did not have a good deal of time before the man would leave town.

He quickly made his way threw the streets knowing he would be easier to spot as the streets cleared. It did not take him long to spot the merchant he was searching entering his favorite brothel. It appeared Adrien had a long night ahead of him if he intended to kill his prey today.

She blushed a little when he kissed her hand and she giggled softly while grinning up at him. "Perhaps we shall." she replied. "Maybe when a ruffian runs into me again we'll meet." She turned slightly and watched him walk away with a soft sigh before turning to her nurse and following the older woman out of the cemetery. They made their way back into town and stopped in at the apothecary for several vials of medicine before heading back to Jewels home where she was quickly ushered up to her rooms to relax and rest.

The nurse had a warm bath drawn for her and after she soaked for a while, she was given her medicine and helped into a lighter dress to wear in the house and she laid down on the chase lounge in her sitting room to rest for a while until dinner was served later that evening.

Adrien grew board pacing the streets half tempted to go into the brothel and find the merchant. He grumbled over the idea as he was quickly running short of places to hide. Soon he was forced to take to the roofs slipping around the brothel and climbing the building. Once on the roof he hid laying flat against its sloped edge. Watching intently trying to ignore the sounds coming threw from the rooms below.

It was just after dark when the man left the building and finally gave him the information he needed. After fifteen minuets of hopping from roof to roof trying to avoid being seen he finally found where the man lived. He smiled he would take his revenge tonight while the man slept.

Faye softly yawned as she gazed into the fire of her sitting room, listening to it softly crackle and pop as the logs burnt. She could hear her nurse knitting off in the corner, the soft clicks of her knitting needles filling the air. Her book sat on the arm of the chase lounge she was laying on and she had one of the fur blankets her father gave her draped over her legs. She was beginning to feel sleepy and she decided that she would probably retire for the night without having dinner and just go to bed.

Looking over her shoulder at her nurse, Faye sat up with another yawn. "Nurse, is my bed ready?" she asked softly. "As well as the medicine?" Behind her, the older woman put down her knitting and moved over to the lounge, placing her hand on the girls shoulder. "Your bed is ready, I'll go and get your medicine now." the woman said and walked away.

When the lights in the house finally went out Adrien leapt into action. Quickly climbing down into the home threw an unlocked window on the ground floor. His foot steps where silent as he made his way threw the home to the merchants bedroom. Finding the man sleeping in his bed he said a soft prayer like he always did giving the man the last rights everyone deserved. Then taking his knife out he plunged it deep into the mans chest faint splattering of blood spraying out onto his hand turning his hand and wrist red.

"Assassin!" He heard yelled from behind him followed by heavy foot steps running his way. A quick movement and Adrian had gained the advantage tossing him threw the window. He did not like killing guards and hoped that he would be fine. Knowing he was going to be hurting but he did not have time to worry he could hear an army of footsteps charging up the stairs.

Standing up silently, Faye moved over to the window in the sitting room and looked out at the city, wrapping her arms around herself while listening to her nurse and two of the maids get her room ready for her to sleep. She could see the lights in the other homes across the city beginning to go out. As the lights went out, she glanced up at the sky to gaze at the stars with a sigh before turning when she heard her nurse call her name. "Anon Nurse." she called back before drawing the curtains of the window and heading into the bedroom.

With her nurses help, she changed into her sleeping gown and sat on the edge of her bed while the older woman picked up the young womans medicine and brought it to her. Taking the cup from her, Faye drank down the warm herbal medicine before laying down in the bed with a yawn. "Good night nurse." she whispered as the woman turned off the lamp and left the room, closing the door behind her. The fire in the rooms fireplace was left on to keep the girl warm through the chilly night.

Adrien quickly moved to the same window he had just broke and lept from it grabbing onto the roof of the next house. He moved quickly once he was on the roof running as fast as he could and remain balanced. He lept from roof to roof trying to run trying to get away. The merchants guards and the town guards where not far behind him. With one miss placed foot step he missed his jump slamming into the wall just above the girls window.

With a grunt he began to fall reaching out and catching the small planter. Two stories up with no way to break his fall he knew he could not let go. There where no hand holds near the window for him to climb he was stuck. His hand pawing at the window trying to push it open but it was latched from the inside. If he did not get aid soon he would be a sitting duck.

Faye had just begun to fall asleep when she heard a thud and she sat up with a gasp. For a moment she just sat there listening, wondering if it were just her dreams that had woken her up. For a moment it was completely silent but then she heard something against her window and she sat there wide eyes before looking at her closed bedroom door. She knew that her nurse would be sleeping and the maids were either cleaning downstairs or had retired for the night as well. Reaching over, she lit a match then lit the lantern next to the bed. Turning it up a little more, she picked it up and slid out of bed.

Silently she padded over to the window and pushed open the drapes and looked out. At first she didn't see anything but then she noticed a hand pawing at her window and she quickly unlatched it. She knew that she should of alerted the guards and her nurse that there was someone hanging outside her window, but she didn't want anyone to get hurt by falling to the ground. Unlatching it, she pushed the window open and looked out, using the lamp to see.

He saw the window open and his hand reached in gripping the window seal. He could not believe how lucky he was he only hoped that it was not someone who would let him fall. His eyes looked up at her his cloak slipping off his head revealing his face. "Lady Halliwell? " He said in shock he was not happy he was hoping she would not think he was to bold. "I promise you this is not what it looks like, but i can not explain it right now i need you to let me in." He said softly hiding his bloody hand in his cloak before gripping the window with it.

He prayed she would not think him some scoundrel come to attack her. Angry at himself for running into her window. He hated that of all the homes in the city he had ran into her's.

She jumped back in surprise when a hand reached in and she watched in surprise as someone began to climb through her window. When the man looked up and his cloak slipped back, she stared until he spoke and her eyes widened. "It.. it's you!" she gasped in disbelief before shaking her head slightly when he told her that she needed to let him him. "This... this is completely inappropriate." she said but backed away anyways to let him. She moved over to the door to her bedroom and opened it, peeking out to see her nurse fast asleep in the seat with her knitting before closing the door again with a sigh.

Turning back to the bedside table and she put the lamp down. "What are you doing here? If you had been caught by nurse, you would be in so much trouble." she said softly while grabbing her robe and pulling it on, wrapping it around her body tightly to hide her night gown from him.

He moved quickly to climb into the building quickly closing the door behind him. It was no more then a moment later that he saw the guards run past the window. He slowly sank down hiding below the window. "I know i am very sorry i did not mean to jump into your room. I was aiming for your roof and missed. I am being chased. If you could be so kind as to allow me to hide here for a short while i shall leave. " He spoke softly moving slightly into the corner so he would be invisible from the out side.

His hand slipped into his cloak to hide the blood from her sight. When she went to the door he grew nervous hoping she was not going for guards. Smiling as she came back looking into her eyes from across the room. "I will stay as far from you as i can I do not mean any type of impropriety i swear to you. "
