not even under the city lights [ mintie and tatcon ]

Now, Tat was actually being quite kind considering how they found it prudent to call him a 'vamp' in public, and despite his playful peace offering to come eat and even enjoy his favourite pancakes, her brothers felt it was a worthwhile idea to ruin his food. Once the plate had spilt into his lap, Tat would slowly look down at it before wiping the corners of his lips with his napkin. This did not sit well with him, oh no...the effort he had put in to working around the vampiric need for blood had allowed him comfort in eating the foods he did, and to have it ruined by a pair of arrogant children whos father he had met before they were born...well, that was beyond forgiveness.

The change in attitude and disposition in Tory following his cleaning his lips might actually come as a surprise to anyone who had known him, and maybe even Dulce. He frequently dealt with adversity with sarcasm however it did not seem fitting in this situation. Not anymore anyway.

"You dumb kids must of read history, right? Your father was resonably smart, so I figure the two of you must have inherited some of it, or maybe only your sister did. Discrimination does not get you anywhere, certainly not against a superior being." He started, slowly sliding himself out from the booth and letting the plate and the food to tumble to the floor unacknowledged. "Let me tell you a little bit more history. Your father taught you everything you know, but not everything he knew, and he lived to a ripe old age because I liked his sense of honour. So with that tidbit of knowledge niños, do you really want to pick a fight with a vampire who, on top of the previous info, hasn't fed on a human in nearly a hundred years?" His voice was low, calm and deathly serious and though Dulce's father may never had admitted to his meeting with Tat in the past, this was simple reality. Maybe he couldn't convince the two block heads of this fact, but that didn't matter now...

...those idiots ruined his breakfast date.

Even if Tatcon had acted like a child when he attempted to force the food at her, her brother's reaction was all too unnecessary. Obviously her mind was taking over and leaving her speechless within this current situation, clearly she was still unsure how to go about this in a natural and relaxed fashion. Was that even possible now? Probably not. But both parties were on the verge of being absolutely unreasonable, probably because they were all men, keeping that silent fact to herself, Dulce almost didn't notice Tatcon stand up until the plate hit the floor. Between the two men, clearly they had forgotten that their little sister was in the vicinity, because causing a problem like this in a public atmosphere wasn't good for any of them. Whether they were hunters or not, it didn't matter. However, it did in fact matter that they were hunters and that was their baby sister who had been here with him, looking more glowy and radiant than usual.

Well they had certainly crashed that glow. Both Jorge and Carlos knew that Dulce was well aware enough of a slayer's daughter to be aware that the man she was with wasn't exactly the human type, and the two males having always followed along suit behind their father, it only made sense that they felt a need to be Dulce's protection. When she didn't need it. Fucking idiots. However the trio grew silent when the male even went as far as to mention their father, obviously walking on eggshells with that one, and as it seemed he had cracked one, Jorge took that initial step forward and Dulce immediately squeezed herself between the males. Knowing if Jorge would have raised his arm any higher, he would have taken this situation one step further and started a fight in here, " Alright alright, " Arms up in the air as though she were a wall, there was a simple push she gave to her brothers, pushing them toward the doors now, Dulce shook her head softly, " Dios mío, a todos ustedes. Actúa como si tienes un poco de entrenamiento en casa. "

Obviously, and only because it was Dulce stopping the confrontation, the males removed themselves from the diner, light brown orbs turning to look at Tat as she shook her head, " You know you didn't have to do that. " Obviously her brothers meant well, or at least they meant well for their sister.

ooc : she basically told them (all.) to act like they were house trained. c:

If it was a game of fisticuffs that her brother wanted, Tat would oblige after the boy landed his first punch, but then she stepped in, and a suddenly silence and calm would come over the hot headed vampire as he watched he walk her two brothers out of the diner, and then come back to him thereafter. His ocean blue optics looked into her own for a short while before he nodded his head a few times, picking up the plate that had fallen and placing it back on the table. "There are many things I have done in my life I probably shouldn't have. Numero uno was listening to a girl whom I only saw at night." He replied, a small grin on his lips as he straightened himself and continued to look at her. He would have no words to say for a few moments before motioning for the seat that she was sitting in before,

"Care to come join me for breakfast now?" He asked quietly, trying to slide himself back to a calmer state because he had a sneaking suspicion that the things he had said would have consequences in one way or another, and he would have to answer to that. He wasn't really dreading it, but a clear mind was needed to properly explain what had transpired on that night so many moons ago when a young hunter had tracked him down and tried to bring and end to his life...and what had happened which brought about peace for Tat's life until this point.

Despite her having ushered her brothers out for the night, she knew they would find her later in the daylight at her apartment, and there would definitely be some not so nice words shared. Not that they would keep them from him either, but if their sister wasn't there, the situation could have gotten out of hand far too fast. Or rather, worse than it had already gotten. Watching him pick up the plate and set it back on the table, the female folded her arms over her chest lightly when he teased that he probably shouldn't have listened to a girl he only saw at night. Rolling her eyes softly, the brunette spoke easily, " Like you've got a choice or something. " Please. Like it wasn't odd enough to remind herself that going out to lunch with a vampire wasn't necessarily possible in regards to normal people's standards.

Moving beside the table and avoiding stepping in the remains of what had fallen on the floor, Dulce slid herself back into her seat and crossing her legs, silently surprised that the older woman who was their waitress didn't come to curse them out. Instead asking them if they wanted to have their food remade as hers had gone cold and his was on the floor. With her naturally soft voice saying 'Please', her brown eyes ventured back down to the male in front of him, noticing he still looked a slight bit tense, reaching her hand over the clean part of the table and sliding her fingers between his. " Something you want to tell me? " Oh how coy you are Dulce.

Tory would give a similar response to Dulce's, a soft nod while letting a kind "Please and thank you" coming from between his lips. He seemed shaken by what had happened, and even he couldn't explain why. Maybe it was her, maybe he felt embarrased for his conduct on every front, though he was still proud of himself for the pancake. Screw what everyone thought, that was damn funny. Regardless, Tat would lean himself back in his booth and take in the fact her hand was holding his, fingers squeezing her own as he looked up to her lovely browns. He could only smirk at her question and give a chuckle.

"Something you want me to say?" He would reply, teasing her still, even after she just stopped a possibly messy brawl between her brothers and himself. Just because they had decided to show up doesn't mean their relationship had to change. Waiting a moment he would correct himself and actually speak his mind. "I'm sorry for what I did. It was overly aggressive, but what can I say...you just drive me into a frenzy." Smooth Tat, very smooth. This would actually make him break into a full smile, which is something that didn't come often to his arrogant lips. Especially accompanied by the quiet laugh that came along with it.

"I suspect they're going to give you trouble for your choice in companions?" He decided to ask, knowing the answer before it even passed his lips. He knew she would have questions about his relationship with her father and what had happened, but for now...just enjoy the moment.

The expression on his face was one she was somewhat unfamiliar with. It wasn't one that she recognized as something that seemed as though he were close to being sarcastic, nor was he about to say something suave or smooth. He almost looked remorseful, perking a brow up just slightly when he began to chuckle and gently squeezed her fingers as they remained comfortable within his. Rolling her eyes as the signs of his 'personality' returning, it was only a matter of time before she cocked her head slightly when he began his apology, again it was unexpected and something she hadn't seen coming, unable to resist the laugh that emerged as he apologized to her for being a part of that little scene earlier and even followed up with a smooth compliment of sorts behind it. " Now you know that's not what I was talking about, " Pausing to silently admire the genuine full smile on his face, even in the incident that had happened before, she was happy that he still wasn't too pissed off about what had happened. Not that it was her fault, but he still had plenty of reason to be upset and pissed off.

" But fabulous way to play it off. " She finished, only to have him ask whether or not her brothers were going to give her trouble for her choice of companions, shrugging her shoulders softly as she responded, " Regardless of my choice and knowing, the fact that you're a male doomed you from the start. " Either way, her brothers would still test him, however as it seemed, they were certainly going to do it all the more now, not because they knew it would be a nuisance, but because they saw how he would react.

Poking a bear was never a good idea. That was why they had the warning signs posted all over zoos telling people not to bug the animals. They had a tendancy of biting. But no matter, realistically he would want to keep the peace with her family as much as possible because hey, they were her family and probably all that remained and if he wanted to continue to see her...well, had to face the music at some time. Her words would make him laugh again though, looking out the window for a short moment as he observed the world silently; allowing his mind to wander as he contemplated what would come next for the Shakespearean couple.

"Of course I was doomed. I always am when I meet my match of a woman. That doesn't happen often." He admitted, looking across the table to her as the new plates of delicious food was delivered, and Tat slowly released her hand. Few things could distract him from her, but a lovely bit of badly cooked meat certainly was one of them. "You know it was hard, not feeding on humans..or even that much blood to be honest. It's like being a heroin addict, you shake, you feel cold...no comment from you on my body temperature (said with an accusatory fork pointed towards her)...you swear your unlife is coming to an end, and then suddenly, you feel more alive. It's so liberating." He added as an off hand remark, and it was a topic he usually didn't bring up. Explaining how he had somehow manipulated his disease into consuming something other than blood was something that took a lot of time and questioning looks to explain. After that small tirade and a few bites of delicious food, he would hold out another piece of pancake to her, even if she had her own.

"Suppose you want to know how I knew your father?" He would ask, deciding to deal with the elephant in the room before she would have to face her brothers again during the day. A day he suspected he wouldn't be able to sleep well through. Oh well, everyone had days like that.

If he was absolutely unreasonable, he didn't have to deal with her family at all. If he hadn't grown attached, he wouldn't have to deal with her either. He could blame it on the change of the winds and say he had been here for far too long when he really hadn't, and say that he would miss her, but he couldn't come back to her because again, he'd been here too long. Again, he'd be lying, but it wasn't as though the thought didn't linger in the back of her mind, that silent wonder of when he was going to 'have' to leave, for whatever reason that he felt was right to fit the moment. He would leave and none of this would quite matter now would it? It would be one of those 'fun while it lasted' situations, however now she curiously wondered what was making him stick around now, despite her brothers' clearly less than friendly attitudes toward him. Subconsciously, he had already met the family, hm? Perking a brow softly as he easily answered her mind's question, she shook her head softly when he announced that it didn't happen often, " I'm sure we've both got different definitions of what 'often' means. " Considering how old he was, who the hell really knew besides him what 'often' meant.

Her hand sliding back into her lap once it was released, the brunette had begun cutting squares into her fluffy chocolate chip pancakes looking up at him for a moment when he began to explain his reasoning for not necessarily feeding on blood. It had been one of those curious things in the back of her mind, all the numerous times he had gotten close to her neck in the few times they had been intimate, whether it was because she knew what he was or because he was good at it, it would always gain a shiver from her. Not to say he would lose out on that ow that he told her there was a slim chance of him drawing blood from her neck, chewing softly on her pancake pieces as she listened curiously. When he offered her the piece of his pancake, the female picked up a piece of her own, swapping forks with him she almost didn't notice the sound of a fawning female behind the counter, hearing her say to the waitress beside her, " You can't even say that wasn't adorable. "

Apparently they had been watching the 'adorable' couple as though they were some sort of television series, Dulce laughing softly as the woman went back to what they were doing as though they had never been watching in the first place; That 'shit we've been caught play it cool' situation. Shaking her head and turning to look back at Tatcon as he asked the ever so lingering question, leaning forward now against her hand as her elbow propped up on the table. " Oh do tell. "

Some things made Tat linger for longer than he probably should and Dulce was turning in to one of those items. Despite his disposition and how he talked, he was a desperate romantic. He was always trying to find the potential for love wherever he went because it was one of those feelings that simply made each day worth living for, sappy as it sounds. The empire he had built was just something to keep him comfortable because he knew better than most that all empires fall. So he would find peace in companionship, and when it was a creature like Dulce, the idea of running away even when faced with hostility was not something he was interested in doing.

"By my definition, often is more frequently then every twenty-five years. It was over fifty years ago I felt something like this." He responded as he took her fork and popped the piece of pancake in to his mouth happily as he teasingly rolled his eyes at the waitress, smiling to Dulce before giving a wink and returning to eating his own food with her fork. Of course he wouldn't get too far because, quite expectedly, she took up his offer of explaining what happened between him and her father. Placing down his utensils he would lean back in the booth and look upwards as he tried to remember all the details.

"It was in the early seventies. I had been hiding in a small village in Ireland because the hunters in central Europe were getting quite antsy and knew that me and my kind were multiplying, though I have very little to do with it." he started, running his hand over his left shoulder at an imaginary itch before he continued, "Your father was an incredible tracker to find me there, I had taken up shop in a cave on the coast to see if this all would blow over, but he found me, followed me from Dublin all the way to my home after a night of gathering news. Unlike most hunters he didn't confront me as the sun was rising, but he camped out nearby until the following evening, when he came to me and told me his intention. I had no weapons, so he placed all of his to the side, and just kept some tools for when and if he landed that final blow. And then we fought..." He trailed off a bit at this point, grinning with a chuckle as his hand gripped his jaw and moved it around a bit. "I'm sure if my kind were prone to arthritis, this would hurt because your dad packed a whicked hook. The fight lasted a while, and of course a storm rolled in in the middle of it. That had been your father's downfall, as he recovered from a blow he slipped, and as he fell I pounced him and drew on of his stakes and had it pressed to his forhead.

"...but I couldn't. He waited for my time to fight me, and he fought on equal grounds...as equal as it can be between vampires and humans. He nearly won, but a fault in his balance changed the tides and it would have been his doom. He was doing his job, and I understood that, but he took additional risks he didn't have to to honour me. So I put down the stake, helped him up...and we drank beer for the rest of evening until he left, saying that he would tell the Conclave the great 'Torales Vasquez, a.k.a. Tatcon Valdez' was dead. I cemented his legacy as a great hunter, and I lived in peace...until your brothers showed up." He added as a joke, winking at her as he crossed his arms over his chest.

There was something odd that caught her attention in his words when he explained what his definition of 'often' was, the latter portion causing her to raise her brow slightly. 'Like this'? What in the world did that mean? She would ask him later, after he found himself beginning to explain the story that she had originally been waiting for, using his fork now for her own meal as she chewed silently once be began. There was an odd sense of awareness as she listened to a story about her father, from someone else. Or rather, from a vampire's perspective. She'd heard plenty of stories from her father, about her father, to her father, but never were they from the perspective of someone he had had the intention of killing. Perking a brow up slightly when he announced that he had very little to do with it, she would instead let that part go as he continued on, feeling almost like a small child again in hearing someone tell her about how amazing her dad was. Unable to resist the soft smile that emerged when he announced that her father waited for him and at least gave him the opportunity to fight honestly, again she felt that soft point in her heart of being in her childhood years.

Again smiling as he described her father's sense of balance being his only downfall, it had been one of the secret causes to why he had made sure his daughter was placed in ballet around her crawling years. Little things like that were always set to guide his children and keep them well balanced and aware so to speak, keeping that little tidbit to herself only to have him finish the story with her brothers messing up his 'living in peace'. Rolling her eyes up to the ceiling gently, she let out a soft breath of air before leaning forward on her hands, " They're not going to believe a word of this. " Obviously, she wasn't going to tell them, and at least she believed it. " But to think, if you would have killed him, " Leaning back now herself, Dulce smiled brightly, " You wouldn't have lovely little me. "

Her response was incredibly well fitting, and smiling again with a small chuckle, he ate a bit more of his sausage. "Suppose everything happens for a reason, doesn't it?" He would add casually in between mouthfuls before he stopped and quirked an eyebrow. "Mind you, isn't it weird I fought your father in his best years, and now you're sleeping with me? I know we went over the age difference before, but in telling that story and putting everything in perspective...egads I feel old." He admitted melancholically with a touch of sarcasm and he ate some more pancake, though this small piece he stole from her plate as fast as he could. "haha, victory."

He would be rather spent for things to say, keeping quiet for a moment as he thought about the details of the secret he just told, and what had happened to the two of them tonight. He had the feeling he was still being watched by her brothers, and going home tonight might not be the safest plan, but what he could do to potentially get them off his trail? No matter, he would figure that out like most problems he did, when it happened.

Maybe he was also waiting for her to ask some questions. She had a look in those beautiful browns that she had curiousities that needed to be satisfied, and realistically there was no better time than now to give answers. He had already spilled the beans on a big secret he was keeping, though he still kept another to himself: The definition of "like this". Hush hush Tat, don't scare the girl away.

And then he had to ask the question she had been trying her hardest to avoid thinking about the fact that his interaction with her father was back in the seventies, the thought causing a faint shiver to slip over her frame, " I wasn't even a thought to my father in the seventies. " And truthfully, she wasn't, none of her siblings were. Actually, she was pretty sure her parents had just gotten married at that point, and it was only until the eighties did her parents start having children, Jorge, Carlos, then herself in eighty nine. " Christ you are old. " With his distraction of his elder age, Dulce noticably pouted when he stole a piece of her pancake, arms folding over her chest for a moment as she unfairly called out, " All your food is raw! " So if she wanted to steal any of his, all she would be getting was pancakes! Even if her brothers were somewhere watching, the female paid no mind to that lingering thought as it didn't matter right at this instant. She wasn't entirely sure she would ever forgive, or even speak to them if they made the unfair choice of going after him when the sun was about to come up in a few hours. At least be fair about it, knowing their father had taught them that much.

Again came her mind to force her to gain the mental encouragement to ask such a question, something that had been teasing at her ever since he mentioned in the first place, having went back to finishing off the last few pieces she could eat of her pancakes without having him reach his fork across the table. Now how would she word the question. " Now just what exactly did you feel over fifty years ago that you feel now? " Women. Always able to reword something almost so that it fit properly in the air of any situation. Clearly, that had been a trait well gained from her mother, her way with words not necessarily something either of her brothers had granted.

Her revelation about his age was even more amusing than his own, and it would just be compounded by the way she pouted and protested that she couldn't steal his food and this made him erupt into a joyous guffaw, sadly still chewing on the stolen piece of food. He would along with her in that short moment of silence between the two of them, small chuckles still popping between his pierced lips in amusement as he ate. Oh, the never ending joys of Dulce and her female charm, which apparently tied in to the convoluted way she asked her question. Navy blue eyes would shoot up from his plate to look at her accusatorily for a long while as he slowly muched on his food, before he smirked and straightened up.

He was thinking of saying something smart-ass, or maybe making her guess but then he decided to do a bit of both. Sliding out of his seat, he would move over to her side of the table, turn her towards him, and then tackle her down flat in her seat, placing a long, passionate kiss upon her lips before simply getting up and moving back over to his side. Sitting down comfortably, he would resume eating. "That" was his only response to her question as he contentedly enjoyed his barely cooked meat and the last scraps of his pancakes.

If her reaction before had been what had caused him to laugh the way he had, her lips still had a faint sign of pout on them, not because he hadn't yet answered her question but because he wasn't even going to offer anything yummy he had on his plate. Raw or not, the offer was still available. Not that she would eat it or anything. Raising a brow at the expression he now had on his face only to watch him lean back in his side of the booth just slightly as though he were popping his back, her eyes followed him as he slid into the booth beside her. What in the world was he- With his swift turn to face her body towards him only to knock her down into the seat and lay himself over her for a kiss, despite the affection in his kiss, Dulce laughed softly once he got up and moved back into his seat, leaving her laying on the side of her booth.

Her hand raising up into the air as she remained where she layed, her fingers curled down and left only one in the air, her middle finger facing him as though it were any replacement for her face. " You better stop playing with me! " Even in her words, the sound of amusement was still in her voice, and the faint traces of a smile still on her face as she leaned up carefully on her elbows and looked over the table at him.

Tat would have to revel in the small victory he had, a situation that deprived her of any come back beyond a middle finger and a vicious roar that he should do as she demanded. Now, he had never been good at that kind of thing, but as he watched her prop herself back up, his ears would catch the waitresses chuckling at their little spectacle, and that brought the smile back to his lips.

"Why? I'm so good at it, why stop?" He first retorted before deciding to properly answer. "Simple Dulce, love." There, fine, he said it. That sacred word that girls seem to attach so much importance to when it comes from a mans mouth had jumped past his. Damn women. Now it was just a matter of seeing how Dulce as a typically atypical girl took the word and his feelings after only two days of knowing her. Despite his long age, he was never under the impression he had a long time to feel things, so it was smart to just jump in head first when things felt right.

Of course there was that silent sense of knowing what it was he was talking about, but why not have a little conformation with him actually telling her hm? Truth of the matter was, and this went for the majority of women, there was something in hearing someone say it rather than insinuate it. Assurance, almost. Finally sitting up properly as he began to get close to answering the question at hand, with him easily straightening himself up and answering honestly, the brunette leaned forward on her hands again as she had been before he had slid himself into the space beside her. She couldn't question whether or not he knew what he was talking about, he had been around long enough to know what love was, hadn't he? He knew what the feeling was and he knew what it was when he felt it, considering how old he was. It would be such a shame if he went along so long without love, right?

Now usually the reaction from most women would be to start fawning and announcing their proclaimed love, but that clearly wasn't Dulce's reaction as she stared at him with a curious expression on her face. It wasn't one of confusion, or disappointment, though mostly unreadable, finally the brunette broke the silence on her part, " That's so. . Complicated. " Pausing for a moment, she tapped her lips gently before adding, " Love I mean. " Not only because that teeny detail of only knowing one another for two days, but because of the ever looming dark portion of their sunny conversations. She would die long before he would, and he would live on and go through this all over again and Dulce had never considered herself the 'loving for another person significantly' type.

People change, and she wasn't ever really sure she wanted to stick around for it. Especially not when they changed on her. So as she figured it, and this was quite unfortunate on her part, she didn't entirely know what love was. " Why in the world would you even bother? "

Her reaction was on par with what he would expect, especially the words she chose. Mortal girls always had an issue when dealing with attraction to a vampire, and he could never really blame them for the fact. All the thoughts she was processing were all true fact, except for one. Shaking his head a bit with her first statement, he would wait until she stopped talking completing before interjecting. "It is only as complicated as you make it." He replied, keeping his face quite placid as he looked upon the object of his desire kindly, knowing exactly where she was coming from with her feelings. "For example, I don't expect much from our relationship, just what we wish to put in to it, and if we wish to abandon it because worlds change, then so be it." He continued, before running his hands through his hair slowly.

"Why bother? Because everyday I could be dead tomorrow because despite being a predator, as your brothers have shown, I am also despised prey, despite what Twilight has done for romanticizing my kind." He teased, wanting to elevate this conversation away from the depressing and sullen. "When things feel worth while I will take the chance and just accept it for what it is so I don't miss a thing. Does it always work? No, but at least I limit my regrets for the time I am here. This kind of life can easily slip away from vampires and they become beasts, hateful and vicious and that is not a future I want for myself. Never had, never will." He completed, answering her statements as fully as he could. He would look at her for a long moment following the speech, and he grinned.

"Either way, I'd say whatever I could to be able to feel that warm body of yours against mine whenever I can."

It wasn't necessarily because he was a vampire that her response had been such, but rather because he was a male. It had always been in her to never get attached to any male, regardless of whether or not he was a vampire or not; They were bound to leave. It was in the nature of human beings, and it only made more sense in that he was a vampire. Head still settled calmly in her hands as she looked forward at him, listening carefully as he refuted her comment of it being complicated, smiling softly as he kept his face so plain and even. Even if it did make it hard to read him, she was still letting her eyes roam over his face at the inkling chance of catching his ever changing emotions, the woman let herself smile again when he brought up that uncomfortably touchy subject of Twilight. Scrunching her nose however to express her silent dissatisfaction, letting him continue on to announce that he didn't want to miss out on a thing, so he took the opportunity to say it easily.

Laughing softly when he finished with a grin and a cutesy statement to follow, even if she did find it odd in him to say that word that apparently every woman wanted to hear, she wasn't entirely sure she ever wanted to necessarily hear it. Not hear it and have it mean something. Was that silly of her? Maybe, but she couldn't quite decide how to pinpoint exactly why yet. Reaching her hands out gently, the female easily reached across the table and grazed her fingers against his cheeks affectionately, " You're going to get yourself into some sticky shit saying things like that, " She stated, as it had clearly gotten him into a situation with her brothers before they even knew what was actually going on between the two of them. Or rather before they actually knew the connection they all oddly had. " Especially to a woman. "

Tat would just give a simple shrug to her response of the kind of trouble his words and emotions would get him in to, honestly it had affected him in worse ways before. Maybe his life was bound to be a cyclic state, a constant chase to find the lost humanity which his change stole away by finding himself in a beautiful woman's arms. It had worked for this long, but maybe he had found a girl who shared the sentiments he had when he didn't feel particularly attached because, like her, he didn't normally. Men are not trustworthy, that is a given truth but women certainly had their faults as well and he had been at the receiving end of the run away lover. It was human nature, everyone was flawed. Still, he wouldn't retract what he had said because he was falling for this unique woman, and even if it was dangerous it was a decision he didn't regret.

He smiled slightly when her hand grazed his cheek, and his own would come up and grab it gently, bringing her fingers to his lips before letting it return to its owner. "Don't worry about the words. Just go with the feeling and let what happens, happen." He said softly and with a wink as he took a moment to look outside again, and looked up to the sky. "You know, I can't even remember what the sun looks like anymore. A lot of vampires hold on to that memory like some precious gift but me...I just let it slip away. Now all I see in dreams in stars. Sad eh?" He asked, looking back over to Dulce for a long moment with a soft grin on his lips to see what she might think of his random musings.

" You make it sound so simple, " And he did, having wiggled her fingers gently against his lips as he kissed them softly, pulling her fingers back to her lap after he let her hand go, Dulce's warm eyes watched him as he turned to look out to the night sky that still somehow managed to be looming over them from within the diner. Smiling because she could easily see him thinking as he stared out, his thoughts easily fell from his lips about the sun, perking up a brow slightly when he announced he couldn't even remember what the sun looked like. Although obviously there weren't too many perks of looking at the sun, she almost couldn't imagine living without the sun, however given his circumstances, easily he could. Feeling the sudden urge to be near him, Dulce carefully moved from her place and slid into the space next to him and gently settled her head against his shoulder affectionately and closing her eyes.

" Do you miss being out in the sunlight? " Curiosity got the better of her in such a question, her words soft as she tilted her head up slightly toward his neck. She had always wondered if there was anything that made the 'creatures of the night', as her family had called them, yearn to be outside in the daylight instead of sleeping away until the shadows started to lurk around. " I think I'd go crazy without a little sunlight every now and then. " Sure, she'd keep her tan, but still.

He would move in response to her shift, wrapping an arm snugly around her shoulders when she came close, smiling softly and tilting his head against her own. Part of him would wonder if all vampires suffered from a serious Vitamin D deficency, and maybe that was why some of them were so sad and melancholic. But then how could you explain Tat? Maybe he just absorbed it from the girls he spent time with, or Dulce's tan...sure, we'll go with that. Chuckling at his thought process he would to turn look more towards her, though her location close to his neck wouldn't allow him to look right at her.

"I do. I miss the warmth, the vitality that the sun brings out in people. At night you just see what is left, castoffs of society who cannot exist within the confines or normality. That is why I spend so much time at clubs...because at least there normal members of society come out during the night and I can..." he trailed off and chuckled a bit, running his fingers along her cheek gently before he completed his thought "...feel alive." He never stopped thinking about it, and besides how he feeds, maybe his biggest reason for just constantly surrounding himself by lust and alcohol was to be near those who were uninhibited and just full of life. Except for Dulce...she was just alive. Shifting a bit he would place a light kiss upon her lips and then rest his forhead against hers. "...except for you. You're not normal."
