"You're right on that one..." Nevada was not all that surprised when she was engulfed in a light that sparkled and shimmered, the last remnants of strength remaining within the girl's very bones leaving while the uniform reverted back to his original form. Her lips parted with a tired sigh. "Mm-hmm... It would be disgraceful if we lost right in front of the Academy... and in front of Satsuki Kiryuin," she agreed, eyeballing the Academy that was just out of reach. Without a doubt, Satsuki was probably watching them right now from atop her precious school, sipping on tea while gazing out at the world with a smug look in her eye.
What the hell is it about Satsuki… that pisses her off so damn much?!
Nevada scowled. Geez, I wonder what it is? Could it have something to do with that arrogant, holier-than-thou attitude? Maybe… Or, better yet, does it have anything to do with the fact that she’s kidnapped your mother and keeping her hostage?! Maybe, maybe. It could be any number of things when concerning Satsuki Kiryuin. An aggravated sigh parting her lips, Nevada directed her eyes back on the Academy, standing tall and proud. “I wish we could have made it… I’d have loved to see the look on Satsuki’s face when we make it to our first class, with barely a scratch…” Nevada murmured, imagining it now. Ooh yes, who says that you shouldn’t rub things in other people’s faces? It would be so much fun… especially when the recipient keeps her head so high, birds must fly into her nose every once in a while.
Snickering at the mental image, Nevada noticed a sort of… loud, mechanical grinding, followed by howls of agony and pain. Wh-What the-? A glance over her shoulder confirmed… a lot of what she was hearing, only with graphic detail. Splashes of red can be seen along concrete walls… looking very much like a horror movie… only, a reality. Nevada noticed more than a couple broken bones, protruding through muscle and skin, and grimaced. “Yikes...that looks painful.”
Brown eyes taking in the gruesome scene, Nevada felt her teeth start to grind... nails, biting into the meaty skin of her palm, though the pain didn't register, only the pressure.
"Think so," Nevada growled, pissed beyond description. What is Satsuki trying to do, kill the entire student population?! Her eyes flashing and swirling, turning ever darker by temper, Nevada forced herself up onto her feet, despite that her body ached in protest.
"Goddammit, what is she thinking?" A hand went to an aching shoulder, rubbing it to try and make the ache subside. "Everyone is going to be killed, at this rate... unless... that is what she planned this entire time?"
No, it didn't sound like Satsuki's handiwork... besides, she's much more conniving than this.
Nevada cast her gaze about, no longer looking at the carnage... but rather, looking for answers. None were revealed, however, in the pain-filled cries, in the snatches of whimpers she could hear... or in any of it. Her fingers continuing to rub the ache away in her shoulder, Nevada frowned, more confused than ever before. "I just... I just can't believe this is all happening..." she spoke at last, incredulity and confusion evident in the girl's words. "Come on, Jikan... Let's go find out what's going on. Maybe we can help some students get out of here, too, and to Honnouji Academy..." There, at least, they can receive medical attention.
Come on, body… Move! Nevada demanded, forcing her aching limbs to move against their will.
The ground breaking apart, large, jagged cracks erupting, spreading… Nevada began running forward, not only to help the other teenagers, but also to save her own skin. Dark brown curls flew out behind the girl, caught in the wind’s grasp, a red blush appeared on her features before too long, one of many signs that she was pushing herself too much. “Come on, just a… just a little farther…” Nevada panted, eyes on a higher ledge just out of reach. “Just a little bit more…”
Jumping forward, Nevada strained to reach that other ledge… only to start a slow descent into the gaping hole.
Before any sort of thought could enter Nevada’s mind… a large hand, with long, slender fingers, clamped down onto her wrist, stopping the girl from falling to her doom. Wh-What the-?! Nevada looked down, seeing nothing but empty space… before lifting her gaze back up, only to meet a pair of blue.
“I thought you could use a hand.” Nevada felt herself being lifted up with ease, before the ground met her feet. The young man was tall, tower than her five foot nine, with messy black hair and eyes bluer than the sky above. His shoulders were broad, yet his frame slender… and something about him caused her skin to tingle.
“Ah, th-thanks…” Nevada withdrew from being so close, a pink blush making its way along her features. “I appreciate it. If it wasn’t for you, I’d be falling to my doom right now…” A finger went underneath her chin, lifting the girl’s face so that their eyes could meet again. The young man’s lips curved into a smile, the likes of which caused her heart to stutter, unnaturally, within her chest. “No problem. I can’t see a pretty girl fall to her death, now… can I?” Nevada swallowed the lump in her throat, blushing darker.
