Hunters in the Darkness (Jugger/ I )

"Wait...You saw me?!" She asked in shock as her face was pure beet red as she crossed her arms over her breasts. Now feeling odd about this. She knew the moments he was talking about was when Joseph started the process. "He and I didn't have sex last night. But he did sleep in my bed with me. That was it. Also its none of your business if I slept with him or not."

She pointed out to him that he somewhat fell in the same area as Joseph. "Though I guess if there was sexual intentions I should tell you to keep away until the next morning, huh?" A weak smile appeared on her lips as Nathan had his back to her. "Nathan, at times I do want to cuddle but I feel foolish for asking you to help me like that so I put up a tough front. At times even months before I just want to cry my heart out and to know you do prowl around does help."

"I never asked if you two slept together...!" He defended himself. Nathan simply said he left after the two of them went upstairs. "Funny how you'd think that the first thing to come to my mind would be that you two had sex..." Even though that was his first thought in the first place, though he never spoke it out loud. Hearing her explain that she did want something more than this awkward partnership and to have an actual friendship did some good for him though. "I prowl around to keep you safe, Lils. Not to stalk your every move. Its not like I watch you every minute of the day...Jeez...I know people need their space. Especially women." He smiled. "Though...I never expected you'd actually want to cuddle with me, after how you sometimes treat me."

"Pardon?" She shook her head. "You know what...This may have been a mistake." She said as she got to her feet seeing he took everything she said like she was attacking him.

"I want you gone by tonight. You're no longer needed nor wanted."

He blinked in confusion. "Come on...Don't you think thats a bit harsh? I was just defendin' myself is all. And I wasn't serious about how that was the first thing that came to your mind. Sarcasm is sort of a serious thing for you, isn't it?" He frowned. He stood up. "I'll at least give you your space. You're just...angry still from earlier with Joseph." He stepped toward the door. "I'll leave the elk meat for you, alright? Just sleep well tonight." With that, he left...not wanting to get into an argument with her over this entire thing. He would return tomorrow to see if her mind had changed, but for the rest of that night, he returned to his burrow where he usually slept.

When morning came she was already gone without Nathan to arrange Nathan to be removed from her care.

"I'm not babysitting the pup!" She yelled at her boss who was a massive werewolf.

"You didn't kill him so he's yours to watch. DEAL WITH IT!" He growled at Lillian in his full wolf form but the two glared at eachother.

Pissed off she returned home and locked the door behind her. She didn't want Nathan nor Joseph. Hell! Joseph told her Nathan was jealous of his relationship with her and he kept snapping at her. She had enough of this bullshit.

By the time Nathan had arrived in the morning, she would have already locked her house door. He tried to open it, yet it was no use. "The hell...? Oh shit..." He frowned and looked up. "Lillian! Open the door! Come on...!" He cried out, knocking on it. He stepped back and frowned. Was she still angry about yesterday? He rubbed the back of his head, not wanting to intrude on her when she was like this. Though...If she really wanted him gone, he would offer her a deal. Climbing the walls of the house by parkouring, he would reach the window that would lead into her room. Though he did not enter. He simply knocked on it lightly, hoping she would answer it. "Lillian...If you truly want me gone. You know what you have to do." He called out. "You either kill me or replace me! Thats how this is going to work!"

Lillian was slipping a sports bra on when she heard Nathan's knock. Walking to her window glaring at him. "Not wasting my bullet on you now get!" She closed her curtains off as she was closing herself off from the world. Joseph even tried calling but she was ignoring him as well. Lillian was a loner so her offering Nathan a bedroom, letting him raid her fridge and bathe in her home was a big deal to her.

Hell! She never allowed a man to stay the night or beyond that. Joseph decided to stop calling and took the hint to disappear for awhile like last time. Lillian knew Nathan hated violin music so she turned the music on then up as high as she could stand it.

Nathan saw that she was trying to push him away...but not this time. "Dammit Lillian! I'm not leaving until you at least come and talk to me about this! This is bullshit!" He cried out. When the violin music began to play, he began to whimper and hold his ears as the music got louder. The sharp sounds caused his sensitive ears pain, yet he removed his hands from them and sat at the window, waiting for her. Obvious pain was on his face but he was trying to hide it as if nothing was happening. 'Come on Lillian...I'm going through VIOLIN music just to prove myself to you enough to get a word or two out of you...!' He thought in his head.

To her she was done. She opened up to him only to be brushed off. So letting him sit there she went down stairs to get a drink. Opening her front door she closed it to lock it down before taking off for a jog. She needed to get away from him.

He frowned as he saw her leave the household, and sat back against the house as he watched her jog away. He sighed. "There goes my pack." He murmured...alone in the world with simple sarcasm being the reason behind it all. He was broken now without a home or anyone to turn to. He slid off the roof and went in the opposite direction...He wasn't replaced yet he was dead on the inside. He saw that reason enough to end the bonding code of conduct that he followed. He slipped into the darkness of the forest...and would live alone now, it seemed. He was a lone wolf now...having to fend for himself. If anything...He was a survivor...and he knew that he was technically AWOL in the eyes of the Agency...so hunters would soon be sent after him to hide their secrets that he knew.

He filled in the burrow that he once called his own little abode, not needing it anymore and went off into the dense forest that created a deathly darkness about it. He wondered if Lillian would miss him. He missed her already. Lurking in the shadows of the forest would be several glowing eyes that seemed to follow Nathan through the trees...stalking him so silently that even his sensitive ears could not pick them up.

Lillian needed the jog and to get away to clear her head. Coming to an area where sweat was rolling down her form but as she was taking a drink of water, a dark figure grabbed her. The bottle of water fell to the ground as she was thrown into a tree in the shadows. Her cries of pain was faint while the wind was knocked out of her.

A rogue vampire latched himself onto her neck while his nails dug and created deep gauges in Lillian's arms. She wasn't able to fight back while the blood lusted creature just drains her slowly like he hadn't feed in weeks.

The many different pair of eyes finally attacked Nathan from behind. When they actually plunged themselves from the trees, he just barely dodged something...a puppet? Two of them...conjoined together by two strings with a lone hand operating a wooden controller for the two puppets. "A puppet master..." He murmured as the two puppets began to rush toward him. He dodged each attack that came for him, but was caught up in the strings. The puppets laughed as they began to pull at Nathan's limbs as if they were to tear them off, and Nathan whimpered as he tried to fight back. Then suddenly he heard something in the distance. A faint, familiar cry of pain that came from Lillian. His eyes became hardened and he snarled, teeth baring themselves as he found new strength.

He managed to break free of the puppets and tore the strings in the process, and reached out to grab the puppet master, the white-gloved hand. "You're coming with me...." He said darkly, and rushed off toward the sound of Lillian's scream. What he found was horrifying as he saw Lillian being feasted upon by a vampire. "Dirty bat!" Nathan howled out as he threw the glove toward the vampire. The glove would suddenly enlarge and clench itself around the vampire, holding it tightly in its grip as the puppet master became a vice gripping puppet for Nathan. Nathan rushed over to Lillian. "Lils! Lils are you alright...!?"

Lillian's vision was gone as her heart beat had slowed down so much by the time Nathan appeared. Blood had poured over her chest when he reached her only to have her fall. She was in shock and she couldn't hear him or respond. The vampire was hissing and growling that a werewolf came after his long awaited meal. The vampire struggled to the point his limbs were tearing yet he didn't feel them tearing. He wanted the rest of Lillian's blood and he was determined to have it.

Joseph who could smell Lillian's blood was worried but as he arrived to see the rogue vampire basically killing himself to feast on Lillian. Joseph launched himself at the rogue vampire tearing his throat out then hit the finger of the puppet master that laid over the rogue's stomach. The pressure of the hit sent the blood up spraying him in the face. "Get her home...NOW!" Joseph was growling and turned letting Nathan seeing his red eyes. "I'll follow you back to make sure you're not ambushed."

"The fucking puppet master already ambushed me hoping for a new puppet!" He cried out as he picked up Lillian's body and rushed her back to her house. "I never should have left you. I should've stalked you even when you didn't want it! Dammit! I knew this would happen when I broke my code by overstepping some rules!" He said to himself, scolding himself as he rushed off to Lillian's house. Once there, he kicked open the door, for he knew it was locked, and laid her down on the couch. "Dammit Lillian don't you die on me...Tch..." He frowned. "I already can assume what that damn vampire boyfriend of yours is going to do...you've lost too much blood..." He shook his head, fearing that she would lose her humanity because Nathan couldn't protect her.

Joseph heard that boyfriend comment. "DROP THAT FUCKING BULLSHIT YOU SORRY EXCUSE OF FUR!" Seeing Nathan was just sitting there he moved over pushing him away to look the wounds over. Not requesting his help as he went to a closet where there was heavy duty bandages and a first aid kit.

"Get me a bowl of hot water. Think you can do that simple task without complaining?" He growled at Nathan as he suddenly was stitching the wounds closed as fast and best he could.

"God dammit! Doesn't anyone around here understand sarcasm!?" He cried out when Joseph appeared in anger. When he ordered for a bowl of hot water, he growled at the man and went to go fetch the water. When he came back, the water would be hot as he put it in the microwave for about a minute on HIGH. "What're you going to do?" He questioned, as he looked to the bite marks that were upon Lily's neck. 'Never should have left...Never should have abandoned her. Even if she didn't want me around, should've fucking stayed!' His conscious seemed to be yelling at him as well.

"You don't sound like you're being sarcastic, Bitch." He growled as his hands were covered in blood. Washing the instruments he used as his hands were stained blood. "Whatever the fuck happened between you two either figure it out or walk away." He snapped at Nathan that perhaps his pack didn't teach him everything and him running off every night destroyed his social skills.

Once Lillian was stitched up and her neck bandaged he picked her up and took her to her room where the music was loud. Sighing as he laid her down and turned the music off. Returning down stairs as he began to call around asking for favors to repair the door.

"Again. No one understood sarcasm and things went the wrong way." He replied to when he asked about whatever happened last night. "She was the one that wanted nothing to do with me...so I gave her the thing she wanted: Me gone. Look what happened. Dammit dammit dammit..." He murmured as he looked to her unconscious body as she lay there. He hoped that Lillian would be alright. "Should've never left. Should've stayed. Should've protected you like I was sworn to do, even if you didn't want it. Dammit dammit dammit..."

"You pushed....That's why she ran, Idiot." Joseph went to the master bathroom to scrub his hands raw. "One thing I told you never to do was push it!" He was pissed of course about this but once he thought he got the blood off he walked back to the bed.

"I didn't think she'd react the way she did!" He replied. "I guess you're fucking right about one thing. Er...Something about me not being able to be an adult or something like that. But give me a fucking break. I was the runt of the litter. I'm genetically born weak, naive, and oblivious without a guide!"

"No! You're to stupid to listen!" Joseph snapped at Nathan. "You're old enough not to be treated like a child and to hide behind Lillian's skirt."

"Stop it..." Lillian's voice creaked when she spoke. She was in pain but didn't open her eyes. "Nathan, anymore talk of Joseph being my boyfriend or as such....DON'T THINK ABOUT SPEAKING OF IT EVER!" Her voice was stronger to show she meant business even it was joking. When she opened her eyes they flashed but she was struggling to breath. "When you talking or joke about it...YOU DON'T SOUND LIKE YOU'RE JOKING!!!" She spoke sternly hoping he listens to her.

"Your tone of voice is always the same so considering you've been being sarcastic....I can't trust your word. I need to trust you if you was so damn determined to stay around." Lillian was weak but her head throbbed. She did see he was a pup and in his world he may have been killed for being weak.

"I guess my tone of voice doesn't necessarily change a lot casually, does it?" He replied with a frown. "Just be quiet Lillian and rest. I've already known what I did wrong but I don't need you wasting your energy scolding me. You need it more." He shook his head. Four months of him lounging around with her and he figured she would be able to pick up this kind of stuff from him. "When you rest up, we'll determine my fate alright?" He said, and looked to Joseph. "Get downstairs. I need to talk to you about somethin." He said before going down to give Lillian some free time to herself to recover.

Joseph wasn't going to deal with Nathan but as he reached out to touch Lillian's forehead, she swatted it away. Sighing he walked down stairs to asset the damage to the door.

"I have to admit, Pup. You didn't do as much damage as I thought." That was probably the only nice thing he ever said to Nathan. "What did you want to talk about now? They way she spoke? I somewhat know why but got my ass chewed out big time and can't sit." He smirked as he had a joking tone about him not sitting.

"I'm going to die either way this turns out, Joseph." Nathan said bluntly. "Lillian admitted it herself a little before you came to her house. If she rejects me and sends me away, the Agency is going to hunt me down to kill me, tie up the loose ends and keep my knowledge hidden, so to say." Nathan crossed his arms. "If she gives me another chance, I still won't have any luck. Once my usefulness wears off, the Agency is going to hunt me down. She said it herself. I was a...Hm....Whats the word...survivor with benefits, so to say. I was left alive to serve under her but I WAS part of a pack of wolves that tried to threaten human food production by stealing all of the city's meat supply for ourselves."

Joseph shook his head. "I know you're lying." He turned to look at Nathan with a serious look. "My buddy wouldn't allow a pup to be killed. He placed you in Lillian's care to wisen you up to the world around you. Placing you with a bitch like her confuses me to this day." He moved sitting down.

"She may have been lead to believe they'd kill you but I think deep down she'd die to keep you alive but won't tell you and you'd take advantage of it." He was serious about all of this. "So it will benefit you two to stop lying. I may not be part of the Agency but my best friend is her boss...A werewolf."
