Hunters in the Darkness (Jugger/ I )

"The hell you think I've been doing? I never said that any of this was her fault. Just that I'm stuck with her until one of us dies. And from what she says, I'm going to die anyway no matter what course of action I take. Better she just come out here now and kill me while I sleep. My code won't allow me to fight back because my life is in her hands until I'm replaced or killed." He murmured in annoyance. He didn't realize how angry he seemed to anyone looking at him. He was trying to suppress his anger but wasn't doing a very good job about it. "What happens around Halloween is her business. I'm just here as a bodyguard and nothing more."

"Yeah, a bodyguard doesn't judge her if her father's death is getting to her." He let him in that he's been there longer than Nathan had thought. "As a young werewolf I bet you don't feel safe in telling her you won't be helping her. Why she agreed to allow you to follow a dying tradition is beyond me. Also...She won't kill you. If she was that type of person....She wouldn't have allowed you to live or allowed me to take her virginity."

"You make it sound like you forced yourself upon her when you took her virginity." He said back coldly. "She won't allow me in and I won't pry into her matters. If she needs help, then she will come to me. And why would she when she has someone like you around, vampire?" His fangs began to show as he spoke, showing slight yet meaningless hostility. "If she wants my help, then she'll come to me for it. I thought my company would be enough but all she does is push me away. I've been protecting her for four months now and she still doesn't trust me enough to let me in?"

"It took me two years, pup. You think you can take on a seasoned vampire like me without being killed. I rather enjoy watching her making you go through jumps. Also might as well walk away if you think she'll go too you for help. It took me two years to see the inside of her home and I fell in love with her. So considering it took you mere months compared to me...What does that tell you, runt?"

"Tells me I've got more charisma than you." Nathan looked in the direction of her home and frowned. "Then why would she let me in her home so easily? If it took you two years, then why would it only take me four months? It seems like she loves your company far more than my own." He frowned and remembered back to when they first met. She and several other Agency members slaughtered his pack as they raided a meat factory...leaving Nathan alone, holding onto several dead friends and crying tears of pain as he had lost so many that he loved...so many that were just doing this just to survive. He remembered that Lily had been the one to find him first...and after that, he blacked out from so much stress piled onto him in less than an hour. The next thing he knew, he woke up in an infirmary bed with orders to accompany her and serve under her.

Joseph shrugged. "I don't know. All I know is her boss is a werewolf buddy of mine who placed you under her." Personally he didn't take what he said to heart. "Just remember if she was going to kill you then she would have already done it." Nodding to Nathan. "Also stop feeling sorry for yourself. I know this isn't your burrow."

Turning away from him as he returned to the house Lillian owned. Quietly he drew the curtains closed then fell back on the large comfortable couch. Pulling a blanket over himself then fell to sleep.

Nathan said nothing as he watched the man off and looked to the tree. Oddly enough...it was dead among other trees that were still showing Autumn life. He frowned and stood up, and went back to his own burrow. Upon entering, he laid down in his little bush of leaves and sighed...closing his eyes and relaxing until he finally fell asleep for the night. When he would awaken the next morning, he would proceed to Lily's house and entered like he normally did: As if the place were also his own. "Lillian, you awake yet?"

Lillian was in her bedroom, sore. She didn't pounce on Joseph as he was in her shower right now. Hearing Nathan she walked out and down the stairs. "Yeah I am. Whats up?" She asked with a brighten smile but she was moving stiffly while she went to the kitchen. "Pancakes or waffles?"

He raised an eyebrow at how she was walking. "Seems like you've had a rather...entertaining night." He murmured. "Neither...I'm not really hungry right now." He went to the counter and sat down on a stool. "A glass of something would be nice...Throat's as dry as bark...Need somethin' to wet it." He sighed, feeling awkward. What did they do last night? Like he didn't have an idea of what they did already. He was trying to deny it and hoped it didn't happen. "What do we have in store for us today in terms of a job?"

Lillian still didn't know he was outside the window watching. Going to the fridge she poured him a glass of orange juice. Handing it to him then returned to get the supplies for making pancakes. "Don't know. But you sound like something else is bothering you. Or am I wrong?" She asked without looking at him as Joseph made his way down stairs to see Nathan sitting there.

"Ah! The pup decides to grace us with his presence!" He was laughing.

Lillian glared at Joseph. "Not in the mood to play ref between you two. So if you two decide to fight...Take it outside."

"Tch. I've no reason to squabble with the likes of him." Even though they never met before yesterday, Nathan was speaking as if he had been an enemy of Joseph's for a while now. He downed the orange juice that Lillian poured him and put the glass to the side. "Nothing's bothering me, Lils. I'm hunky dory. Swell. Perfectly fine." He was rather sarcastic in his tone of voice as he spoke. "Hopefully I'll get to kill something today..."

Lillian looked at Nathan knowing full well when he speaks like that then there was something wrong. "Ok." She didn't pry as she turned away from to continue cooking.

Joseph sat beside Nathan smirking but spoke in a low voice. "Seriously? Whose the one creating distance now." It seemed Nathan was living a double standard that Lillian had to go to him and not create distance and yet he was creating distance and running. "Why don't you run along, Pup. You're not ready for the adult world."

"It was going fine until you showed up, vampire." Nathan replied in a whisper. "I was having no problem speaking with her but I can smell your scent all over her. I can only imagine what you two did last night after your returned to the mansion. She walks funny as well. What am I to expect? That you guys didn't play a game of naked twister? Or did you make her sleep on the floor while you took her bed? No...You don't seem like the type and I doubt she'd let that happen."

He chuckled. "Look, Pup. What is it to you if we had sex or not. Besides I came here to fulfill a promise I made last year. Have you seen her back before?" He asked in a casual tone while Lillian walked by the two with her own stack of fluffy pancakes. "Its scarred up from her battles and she's insecure about it. I learned a trick to erase such things on the flesh but the promise makes it sore on her. That's what you saw last night...The beginning of it. When I saw you I didn't want her to find out you saw her topless. So I lead her back to her room to do a few more scars, the nastier ones are more time consuming."

Joseph got up to get some water. "Believe what you will, Pup. But doesn't change the fact you're possessive over her and can't stand the idea I had her before you."

"Well...I may as well agree on you with that since I know its probably fairly obvious. But yes. I am jealous. I don't know WHY I am...yet I am." He replied and peeked over to look at Lillian then to his empty orange juice cup. He drank what little was in there and began to tap the glass lightly with one of his claws. He didn't know why but he believed Joseph about the scar erasing...though he didn't understand how such a thing would make her weak in the legs. He eventually stood up and stretched. "Lillian, is there nothing for us to do? I'm bored sitting around and waiting here. I want to go out and hunt some baddies already."

"Baddies?" She asked from the couch. "Dear god! Just go out and hunt since I imagine you're starving." She smirked as she could hear the two talking in low voices. "Nathan...Mind taking off I need to talk to Joseph alone." She said as she looked at the men. To her Joseph did cross the line of telling Nathan what she was hiding since he didn't have the right nor hint they were having sex.

Getting up she walked over touching Nathan's shoulder. "I know you don't do anything I ask for but this is not up for discussion."

"Y-Yeah...Alright Lils..." He replied, seeing that this was rather serious. He nodded and stood up, walking out of the house and looking back once before running off into the forest. He wondered what they would be talking about...Her voice seemed stern and serious...Did Nathan get Joseph in trouble or did he get himself in trouble? She shrugged, and hunted through the forest....and somehow found himself in the human city. He walked along the sidewalk, tail wagging slowly behind him as he looked at all the people and somewhat seeing other supernaturals among the humans as well.

Lillian told Joseph he did cross the line but what made it worse was him even mentioning he had sex with her.

"You sound like you're ashamed of me!" Joseph did snap as it felt like it was a slap to the face.

"No, wasn't an insult. To me he didn't have to know you and I were romantically involved before." She said as Joseph walked over kissing her hand.

"I'm sorry. He seemed rather lost on how to deal with you so I tried to tell him what he could do. Yet, he showed only he can be distant in this partnership. Are you sure you want him as your partner? I mean if you found someone else he'd take off."

Lillian stood there as this was something she didn't know about. Hell Joseph proved himself in the past but yet he's weak in the sun light so he wasn't a promising partner. So she was settling for Nathan.

When Nathan would finally return, he would be holding a metal box, with a cushioned bottom, full of cooked elk meat. He had hunted it in the wild eventually and brought it to a butcher to cook up half of it and give it to Nathan if he let the butcher keep the other half. As he returned to the house, he would overhear the two of them arguing and stepped inside the house. "Hello? I brought...er...something for lunch and dinner...if you two can stomach Elk meat. I find it delicious..."

She didn't hear Nathan at first as she was mad. "What makes you think I want him to know we had a past?!"

"You seriously want him to fuck you late at night? I won't allow that!" Joseph was mad but not enough to expose his fangs to Lillian.

"Whoever I sleep with is my choice, Bat Boy!" She walked by him to see Nathan standing there looking awkward. "Oh god..." Her face turned red knowing he heard the argument that she had.

"I uh...Feel like I walked in on something I shouldn't have..." He murmured, hearing the end of the conversation made him feel awkward indeed. He placed the metal tray on a table and pulled off the top of the box to let the aroma of the smoked meat fill the room. "Lunch and/or dinner is here..." He rubbed the back of his head, feeling awkward. "I should probably give you guys some time...seems I wasn't out long enough." He turned and began to head toward the door of the mansion. Unless Lillian would speak about it, he wouldn't bring up what he heard just then.

"No, Nathan...We're done. Just things needed to be said." She walked over smelling the smoked meat. "Smells good..." She looked over seeing Joseph walking out, mad. He was going to look for a quick fuck that didn't involve her. When Joe was gone Lillian basically collapsed on the couch. "Nathan, I'm sorry you heard whatever but Joseph is a good guy just...Hopes there is still a chance for us. But I don't think so I left him because I no longer loved him."

"Uh huh..." He replied as he began to eat some of the smoked meat as he heard her speak. "Somethin' been on my mind for the little bit of time that this ended but..." He couldn't exactly wait. Curiosity was killing him, ironically. "What'd he mean that you wanted me to fuck you late at night or somethin'? Was he just being a douche or...?" He wondered if Lily wanted Nathan to have sex with her or something...Something he wouldn't mind and something he would actually want to do. Though he was no rapist; he wouldn't do it if she didn't want it.

Smiling as she looked over at him. "He's territorial. So he was trying to strike a nerve but its true...I chose who I want to sleep with and he has no say so. Example, if I wanted to risk the partnership we have then I'd push it to be sexual and he doesn't have a say so."

Watching Nathan as something else bothered her. "He mentioned you expected me to crawl to you if I needed help. Basically he was trying to paint an awful picture of you. Is that true though?"

"Not my words...They're a bit slanderous honestly. I simply told him that if you ever needed help with something, you could come to me...otherwise I won't pry into your matters. Its none of my business unless you ask for my help or opinion." He replied and finished off the slab of meat that he had taken out. "I'm not someone would tries to stick their nose into every hole of information that comes around. Especially if its personal...Which is why I left after I saw you and Joseph last night." He frowned. "I heard something from your house and came to see if you were alright and then I saw the two of you...You seemed happy enough and it seemed you didn't notice me. But Joseph did...and it seemed as soon as he noticed me, he decided to take you upstairs. After that, I left...thinking he was a close friend of yours."
