The Secret Society

Dal and Tim finished eating and Dal was feeling much better. He made sure that someone was going to talk to Llew about the kidnapper and then went to his next class. He tried to get back to normal, but his thoughts were on Llew and how to help her out.

After lunch he went back to the training rooms with an idea of what he might be able to do to help Llew. He waited until Tim arrived and explained it to him. They two of them then waited for Llew. Dal hoped that this time the training could go longer without exhausting them too much.

For Llew, sugar was like her crack. One bite of something sweet and the sugar instantly kicked in, putting her in this instant and crazy sugar high, all from one bite. So much energy. She ate mostly sweet things at lunch, the hyperactive side of her kicking in at almost an instant. By the time lunch was over, Amelie had to contain a very hyper Llew who at any moment could suddenly wield her power in front of everyone else and blow the secret society.

Once in the training grounds, Llew ran into the dojo and she slid down onto her knees[purposely], instantly bouncing up and spinning around. She was so ready for whatever was next. Looking at Dal and Tim, she put her hands on her hips, shedding her sweater. "What's next?" She asked eagerly, swaying from side to side. She could be a tad annoying sometimes...

Sometimes was such an understatement.

Dal was surprised when Llew entered and seemed full of energy. He could tell already that it was caffeine or sugar. He chuckled. Gettign up he looked at her carefully. Had she got a sugar high as a possible way to avoid him losing too much energy trying to help her? If so it was a nice gesture. He looked at Tim who shrugged. They both looked at Amellie who smiled and laughed.

Dal shrugged and looked at Llew. "Now we do the same as before. Only this time I reduce your strength and give you energy. You will hopefully not be able to access as much power and have more energy to do so. I have never tried this before, so I hope it works. If not, I will go back to just feeding you energy. Either way, I will make sure you don't black out. All you need to do is try to find easier ways to access your power. Now that you know how it feels you can experiment and find was that use less energy. So, when you are ready, get started. As these two for tips if you have no ideas."

Llew nodded to him, pretty sure she understood. As Amelie moved to the front, preparing to suck the air from Llew's grasp if need be, Llew took her stance and started out like she always did. Her eyes closed, and letting out timid deep breaths until they turned more stronger. Releasing her hands from fists, her eyes opened and she waved her hands around once again, but instead creating a ball in the air, she ended up creating a sort of whirlwind or tornado above her and instead of letting it consume her, her arms raised and she kept it up in the air, having the ability to control whether or not she wanted to throw it off or just let it hover.

She held on a little longer than she usually would. Normally, at this point she would have started to lose control and blacked out but that wasn't the case. Whatever energy she got from all that sugar helped a lot and she was able to hold on more. Eventually she allowed the tornado to consume her but not in a way of loss of control over her power. As the tornado enveloped her, her feet soon left the ground and she was able to make herself rise out of the tornado, levitating.

Dal watched her and started to focus on her. He started by taking away some of her strength. He then focused more. He held the drain on her strength while at the same time feeding her energy. She had a lot already, so he worked on just replenishing what she lost.

He watched her as she started by creating a whirwind above her. She was able to hold it in place. He really tried to draw away her strength now. He could feel it entering him. There was a lot. It really helped him keep control and feed her the energy she needed. She was still using a fair bit of energy.

As she started trying to access more power he lessened on the ammount he was siphoning off of her. That was when she used the whirlwind to lift herself. He was stunned, but held his focus. She was showing real control. He wasn't sure if she was raelly that fast of a learner, or whether it was because he was taking all the excess power that she couldn't control. Either way, she was doing very well. He was getting tired though, and hoped she stopped soon. Or else he might run out of energy and have to sap it from the others, or not be able to help her stay under control.

But too much energy wasn't good and it felt like her body was going into overdrive that she couldn't keep up with it. She was levitating higher but she needed to stop before her body totally shut down from the overdrie. And so it was slowly happening. Instead of levitating higher, she started to come down; her arms felt so weak and they started to come back down her sides. As her feet touched the ground, she soon fell to her knees. She didn't black out but she was breathing hard not from loss of energy or power and control but from overdrive. Blood trickled from her nose. She never once had a bloody nose.

The wind was gone, her eyes returned to their hazel color rather the snowy white color. She was slightly shaking, all from the energy streaming through her system. She was pumped but over-pumped. Wiping her nose with the back of her hand, she saw the blood and lifted her head up, looking up at Amelie.

She came to Llew's side and swallowed hard. "I think if she's hyper, she may not need the extra energy." She said softly, looking up at Dal. "Too much of anything isn't good either." She said gently. "But that was some ability Llew." She said softly. Looking up at Dal, she nodded to him. "I think it's time we packed on the sweets..." Hearing this made Llew happy.

"You okay Dal?" Amelie asked. Llew turned, wiping her nose again. Some blood dripped onto the ground and she tilted her head back.

Dal watched as Llew lowered herself to the ground. She stopped channeling her power and dropped down to her knees. Dal collapsed backward, sitting against the wall. He was tired again. He looked over at Llew as Amellie spoke to them both. When she spoke of all the energy she had he nodded. He focused once more and sapped some of her energy, taking it for himself. It seemed all she really needed was some sugar and for him to reduce her strength and power.

Amellie asked if he was ok. He wiped away some sweat from his brow and nodded. He looked at Tim. "Go get Jane. She can heal her nose and make it as good as new. Also bring back some chocolate or something really sugary. We will need it for later. Oh, and a lot of water and gatorade for me."

Amelie looked back up at Dal and nodded. Before she went though, she brought some tissue for Llew so that she didn't bleed over her hands and self. Walking out, she went to get Jane and the other essentials.

Llew took some of the tissue and kept her head tilted back, a whole bunch of Kleenex stuffed at the entrance of her nose to stop the blood from dripping down. As Dal took some of her energy, she felt her body stop shaking and no longer did she feel she was in overdrive. Pulling the tissue from her nose, she waited a bit and saw the blood stopped. "Huh..." That's all it took. Interesting.

When Amelie came back, she was carrying whatever Dal asked her to bring and Jane walked in behind her. "Llew, this Jane. She specializes in a lot of abilities and she can help with your nose."

"Oh no, I'm alright. Once Dal sapped some of my energy, the bleeding stopped." She said softly.

"That's probably because you now have a blood clot, not so much because Dal helped. If anything, he stopped the cause of your bloody nose but I do believe you now have a blood clot in your nose, judging by how much blood is on those tissues." Jane explained. She moved to sit in front of Llew and she started working, letting her hand hover over her nose.

Dal smiled at Llew, glad to see that her nose was not bleeding any more. Tim had gone to get the food and the water. He just sat back and relaxed as Jane used her power to heal Llew's nose. He knew that it would be better than new in only a moment.

When Jane was done Tim had returned. Dal smiled at Jane. "Thank you Jane. You can go back to class if you want now. I'll make sure that nothing else happens to Llew." He then turned to Llew as Tim brought over the candy he'd found. "Ok Llew, have some of the candy to get a little more energy. I'm going to rest for a few more minutes and then when we are both ready, you can try again. Remember, try all you can to tap in to your power using the least amount of energy possible." He went over and drank some water, regaining his own energy. A minute later he was ready and waited for Llew.

Jane looked at him. "Aww darn and I was hoping to watch." She pouted, standing once she fixed Llew's nose.

Amelie laughed. "You could but we don't know if you may get sucked into Llew's grasp. She's quite powerful." Amelie said, hitting Jane's tiny fear.

Her eyes widened. "if you need me, just holler." She said and ran out. If anything, her worst nightmare was to get caught in a huge gust of wind.

Amelie and Llew laughed a bit and once she saw the candy, Llew made grabs for it and ripped it open, taking a bite. Symphony Chocolate was the best in her opinion; so rich and luscious and when it had almonds or toffee bits in it, it only made it taste better. Looking up at Dal, she was on her the final bites of the chocolate bar and wiped her mouth a bit. "Um...can we take a small break? There's only so much chocolate I will be able to take each time before I'll want to throw up." That was the only downside of such rich chocolate. "Can't we like...chat?" She asked with a hopeful smile.

Dal chuckled as Jane ran off to go back to class. He turned to see Llew eating the chocolate. He smiled at her. He expected her to be ready to get right back into training, but as she finished the chocolate she asked if they could chat. He shrugged. "I don't see why not, but we should get a little more training in this afternoon. What would you like to talk about?"

"Oh we will. But at the rate we're going--or well I'm going--some small breaks in between never hurt right? I mean, it's not fair to Ariana but it's not fair to my health either." She tried to justify it, though it was probably unnecessary to do so. Sitting back, her hands in the back of her, she looked at Tim and Dal. Her area of expertise was the school gossip column on the school Tribune where she mostly talked about the love life. "How come you two don't have girlfriends?" She asked simply.

Dal nodded at her reasoning. He didn't want to exhaust her. Yet she should be fairly recovered. In any case, they could not make her train if she wanted to take a break. He relaxed and waited for a question or topic to discuss. When she looked at Tim and then at him, he didn't like it.

Her question caught Dal off guard. Tim just smiled. He answered quickly. "Well the fact that you don't know makes me happy. It means the secret is not out. And I'm not telling you who it is either." Dal chuckled. He avoided looking at Llew for a minute. He kenw he would not be able to dodge the question though. He finally spoke up. "Uh, well, ummm.... we are not supposed to date outside the society.... that's why. There is no one in the society that I'm interested in."

Time looked at him with a confused look. Dal caught it before anything was said. He spoke at a murmer, hoping Llew didn't hear him. "Don't make me drain your energy Tim. Say anything and you'll be sleeping for a week."

Llew raised a brow. "Hey come on! I promise not to tell. it's not lke it's going on my column in the Tribune. If anything, I resepct and know how to keep a secret unless of course the person is my enemy." She said softly. But not wanting to pester, she put her palms up in defeat, respecting Tim to not wish to tell. besides, she did like a good mystery. She could be the next Nancy Drew if she wanted.

Looking at Dal, she grinned. "I don't believe that." She said simply. "I mean look at Amelie. She's a pretty hot slice. Definitely has it going for her in the assetts." She smiled, looking over to Amelie who was complimented and flattered.

"You are such a sweetie!" She chirped, hugging Llew. Llew just laughed and then looked at Tim and Dal, raisinga brow in their little tet-tet. "Smething you'd like to share with the class?" She asked, sitting up, eager to know what was going on with them.

Dal didn't even notice the little exchange between Amellie and Llew as he focused on threatening Tim not to say anything to Llew. He looked back at Llew as she piped in. He did have to admit that Amellie was attractive, but they both knew that a relationship between them would never work.

Dal looked at Llew for a moment, not saying anything. Tim was about to speak up when Dal glared over at him. He then smiled at Llew. "Oh, nothing. Don't worry about it. Really, forget about it." He shut his mouth and hoped that Tim didn't speak.

Unfortunately that didn't happen. Apparently Tim decided that Dal wouldn't follow through with his threat. He spoke up. "Dal doesn't have a girlfriend because he has never even asked anyone out. I think he is too nervous, but he says it is because he is too busy."

Dal growled a little at Tim. "I am too busy. Between my classes and having to train with people all the time, and everything else I have to do, I have no time for a girlfriend."

Tim laughed. "Then why are you always complaining that you are bored and have nothing to do?"

Dal hit him lightly on the shoulder. "Why are you telling her this? She does not need to know." He focused and drained some of Tim's energy, but not much. Hopefully just enough to keep him quiet.

Llew raised her brow again. "That's a seriously lame excuse." She said simply. "God...where's a mind reader when you need one?" She murmured, shaking her head. While she'd love to pester him since she was oh so nosey, she decided against it and just let it go.

Looking over to Amelie, she smiled. "What about you?" She asked. "Seeing anyone special?" She asked softly. "Don't worry, I won't include this in my column." She said softly.

"No. I don't know, my mind isn't really on committment. It's high school; a time to have fun and experiment and I like experimenting. It's wild." She grinned, looking from Llew to Dal and Tim. "What about you Llew? I've seen you around campus. People seem to fear you more than anything."

Llew laughed a bit. "That's because they know what an investigative columnist I am, that they don't want to be in my column. That's why I don't date. Because no one wants to be around the school gossip columnist." She laughed a bit, shrugging. "Oh well." She said simply and stood up. "Now, unless Dal would like to tell the real reason why a hot stud like him isn't with anyone, we might as well start up again."

Dal was focused on being annoyed with them for bugging him about his dating life that he barely payed attention to what was said. He alraedy knew about Amellie, which was why they would enver go out. The fact that Llew didn't date because guys didn't want to go out with the gossip columnist.

When Llew called him a hot stud he had to force hismelf not to laugh. He just wanted to get back to work now. He wasn't about to tell them about how he was more interested in the long term. He'd had a couple of girlfriends in the past, but they had been so shallow that it hadn't lasted long. He didn't want that again.

He shook his head and got up. "Come on. Let's get to work. Same drill as before. Try to use as little energy as possible to tap into your power. When you are done we can go hit the whoers and be done for the day. Then you can go talk to Nick about what the kidnapper looked like and what else you remember."

Llew laughed a little bit when he skipped her testament to admitting the truth about why he didn't date and nodded to getting back to work. But when he mentioned Nick, she wondered if he was the scary aggressive guy who seemed to want to deck her for inability to believe about this society earlier that morning. "Is Nick that really scary guy who seemed to want to kick my ass this morning?" She asked, her eyes widening up a little bit.

Hm...well if he tried to hurt her, she could always soup up some of her gnarly wind power and blow him away--literally--all the way to Timbuktu.

After that was settled, she straightened herself out and then channeled all her strength and power once more like before. Again, she started out with the same soft breaths that slowly turned into something more powerful. She focussed on trying to use less energy. Instead of waiting it out and taking it slowly--which probably caused the massive energy drain--she went right into it. Little gusts of wind emmited from her palms and fingertips, her eyes glazing over with that snowy white color. One arm straightened out in a storng motion to the right, nearly sending the wall of the dojo off its hinges and she did the same in the other direction, almost blowing the door off. Soon, that same tornade like from earlier formed but not above her. She was in it and controlling it well. It soon died down as she closed up and then when she released it, her hands above her head and such, an outburst of air erupted, strong enough to take out anyone around her.

Amelie rebuffed it, not letting that hit take her down.

Coming down from her power high, she powered down and looked around. It looked like the dojo exploded almost. "Woah..." But Llew didn't faint or fall or lose her balance or anything and she still had a lot of energy to her.

Dal focused on Llew as she tapped into her power. He took away strength but did nothing about her energy. He watched her as she did some crazy stuff. She really needed to learn to control it better. She couldn't jsut do really strong things all the time. He knew that now he would need to sap a lot more strength from her to let her only do small things. Maybe a palm sized tornado would be nice.

He started to loosen his hold on her strength. That turned out to be a mistake. She let out a burst of air. Tim was able to counter it since he knew how to deal with that kind of power. Dal didn't. He was knocked backward. Luckily he didn't hit his head. He skidded to a stop and just lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. He let out a groan and slowly sat up. "I think that's enough for the day. Let's hit the showers." He had a thin layer of sweat covering his body. He'd had to work hard to make sure Llew wasn't overwhelmed by her own power.

Llew turned and her eyes widened. She hated her power. Somehow, someone was always going to end up getting hurt. Swallowing hard, she grabbed her back. "Sorry." She murmured and ran out of there. She felt bad. Someone was always going to end up getting hurt if they didn't know how to rebuff the power sent at them caused by her. She could have done some serious damage to him. They both were really lucky. After circling the entire place at least once, she finally found the locker rooms down there and just went straight for a shower. She was angry at herself, frustrated too.

Throwing her things in a locker, she grabbed a towel and went to one of the showers and stripped down, taking her shoes off too. Getting in, she let the cold water defuse her and then let it get really hot, just as she liked. Llew stood under the shower head, letting the hot water run over her body, soaking her hair and overall calming her down. She let out soft breaths, careful to not let that turn into some crazy power of hers.

Dal was surprised at how hard Llew took the fact that he had been knocked back by her power. He wasn't hurt at all. Nothing bad had happened. Yet she seemed upset. Amellie tried to follow her but came back a minute later saying that she couldn't find Llew.

Dal sighed and just decided to go have a shower and then return to his room so he could do some homework. He went to the only locker room in the society's area. He went to his locker and got a towel out. then he went to the guy's side of the showers. He had a quick relaxing shower before wrapping the towel around himself and returning to his locker.

Finally she managed to cool down and she shut the shower off. She grabbed her towel and dried her hair and dried her body, soon wrapping the towel around her body. Grabbing her clothes outside of the shower, she then walked to a locker and opened it. She sat down on the bench and let out a small breath. She was calm but it was scaring her that she was capable of that. All she thought of herself was a budding columnist with a zing for crazy fashion and writing. Now she had a power and it could hurt people.

Shaking her head, she stood and managed to put her undergarments on without showing too much skin and then let the towel drop. However, she heard someone else. Raising a brow, she picked up her towel and started to redry her hair since the ends were dripping water over her body. She peeked out from the set of lockers and then looked down one way and saw Dal. Her eyes widened and she looked away, turning and clearing her throat loud enough for him to hear as she went back to her locker. She didn't know the locker rooms were...co-ed!

Dal pulled on his boxer briefs before unwrapping his towel from hsi waist. He then finished drying his hair. He was about to pull on his shirt when he heard someone clearing their throat. He turned but didn't see anyone. He grabbed his shirt and pants and walked over to the edge of the line of lockers. He looekd around the corner and saw Llew.

He smiled and went over to her. "Hey Llew. We weren't sure where you had gone. You seemed upset when you shouldn't be. Nothing bad happened. I was the one keeping your power limited. I am at fault for anything that happened. you only released that much power because I let you." He looked right at her, hoping she would not blame herself.

Llew turned to look at him, grabbing her skirt and putting it on. "Yeah I know but I still feel bad. i don't want to hut anyone while I'm learning still. I mean, Amelie and Tim can fend for themselves because they have a similar power but you don't. What if next time it's a harder blow. It could do some serious damage to you." She said quietly, zipping her skirt up and grabbed her button down. She put it on and started to button it, looking down. She did feel really bad. It was how she was. She had the biggest guilty conscience possible.

Dal pulled on his shirt as she spoke. Once that was on he pulled up his pants and pulled up the zipper. He looked up at her and shook his head. "You really don't need to worry. It was my mistake. My error, my fault. There will not be a time that I let you have access to enough power to do damage to me. From now on it is palm sized tornados for you, at least until you have learned more control. Please don't worry about it." He smiled at her softly, hoping he had comforted her. He went quickly to his things and packed them up and then returned to Llew. He placed a hand on her shoulder. "Llew, just relax this evening and try not to think about this stuff. Tyler will meet with you fairly soon and discuss the kidnapper, but after that, just relax. Get some homework done. I'll see you tomorrow down here for some more training." With that he turned and went to leave the changeroom.
