Friendly Fire, More Than Flames of Passion[Vampire07]

Aiko shifted within his arms as she felt something warm touching her. Though thirty minutes later she opened her eyes to the smell of breakfast and her being warm. Instead of having the normal wake up slowly but she had those instant wake up and bouncing out of bed ones. She leaped out of bed and got dressed in shorts and a sports bra.

Her body was quivering as she pulled her knives from her dresser and ventured out into the living room to see it was Angelo.

"Angelo!" She was shocked as she didn't tell him where she lived since she gave him her number only. She couldn't think up of an reason why he'd be here in her own home. Though she tighten her grip on her knives as she noticed her small minor traps were on the table.

"As expected but why are you even here?" She asked him as she brought her eyes back to him when he cooked breakfast. This was something she wasn't use to even with him. At this moment she didn't give a shit if he saw the large bruises on her body plus the bullet wounds that looked recent or just got done healing. Aiko couldn't hear anything else at the moment as her old self was trying to come back. The whole ignore everything and kill the person in front of you. Aiko's true nightmare that she will turn into this with her target being an old friend. Aiko pinched the flesh of her hand to keep herself aware of what was going on and calm before anything happened.

A smirk came upon Angel's face when he heard the movement and then the sound of her yelling his name. It was true all she gave him was her phone number, but that wasn't really needed. Since she showed up at the party, he had been finding as much as he could about her. It took them awhile but he got everything he needed this morning. He hated the fact he actually had to be here and had to confront her like this, but when he turned around to see her weapons. He realized there was no point putting it off.

He ignored the sausage on the stove as his right hand slides up the back his shirt, there was no reason to be sneaky about it. They both were experienced killers and knew for well what to look for. He was banking on her distances but his other hand was still close to the frying pan if she jumped the gun. "Because we need to talk." The gentle expression he always carried on his face when he was around her began to fade. A harder and one that held more malice was taking shape as he began to steel his heart and lock away his emotions. The task before him had to be done if what he was told was actually true.

"Have you become my enemy?" He asked her as his hand attempted to remove the eight inch serrated blade from its holster at the small of his back. "Hold on, let me ask that more clearly so you don't get confused." Angel took a deep breath trying to make it seem like he was having trouble thinking of what to say or that he was scared to bring these things to the surface. "Are you still with me or have you sided with the Cresent Family?" He figured that was nice and clear, easy for her to grasp it within her shock and just woken up state. He knew she wouldn't be confused and shocked about how he knew, maybe the how long he has, but that was it. The sausage on the stove became irrelevant, they were no longer important. They smelled good and would be delicious if they finished this soon enough.

At least the victor would have something to settle their stomach. He couldn't relax though, they both were good at close range but they knew she was better.

Her eyes locked on his movements as her position shifted but smirked when he pieced it together or enough to allow her to confess. Her left arm went up to her throat as her right hand moved in an offensive position. Aiko's eyes landed on Angelo's face seeing that softens he held for her was gone but she had to remain tough to survive this fight.

"Your enemy?" She could lie to him but knowing him he'd kill her in an instant. "If you think I'm your enemy then well did you let me live when you had a chance to kill me?" She was scared of him as she knew she couldn't go against his strnegth so she had to refine her speed and reflexes. Though with her being injuryed it was going to be hard.

Aiko's ear twitched as her work phone went off once more. Gritting her teeth as her arms tensed up having her stitches reopen slightly having the blood drip down her arms. She was starting to lose herself now that he figured her out. Out of keeping her a secret she wasn't marked like the others but she tossed her knives onto the floor and headed into the kitchen. She was risking it since she knew he had a weapon on him already.

Her having no weapon as she went to the fridge and pulled out a water bottle. Snapping the bottle as she sipped from it before looking over at him seeing him sticking close to the stove. Sighing as she reached over turning it off. "I paid good money for that pan."

Angel felt his blood pumping. He hadn't had a hand to hand fight with someone skilled in a long time. Sure he had some street fights here and there but with his military training against street fighting. The winner was already decided before the first punch were thrown. Aiko was like him, they were both skilled at killing with the least amount of wasted movement. She wasn't some punk who grew up beating on some nigga to make some cash, death was the weapon they wielded. They used that force like they walked around in black hoods.

He heard the question she asked which caused his hand to freeze in its motion. How could be bring himself to kill her? She was the only family he had left now, the only person he could really trust. But it has been five years. He hadn't seen her in a while so who knew how much they have grown apart. Her coming back could have been a set up.

The confusion that had entered his eyes from her question was instantly pushed aside to restore the determination he had. "Someone killed Mr.Carter, I wont let his family crumble under my watch." He told her. The ringing of the phone didn't bother him in the slightest, almost like he didn't even hear it. He kept his attention on her to watch as she put her weapons down just as he drew the blade from behind his back. He held it down to his side as he watches her go to the fridge only to reach over and turn the stove off. Was she playing with him? Did she think he didn't have what it took to finish her?

It was true he cared about her, but he couldn't allow himself to be stopped now. He reached out with his free hand to grab her by the wrist that she extended close to him. The grip he had was firm as to keep her from easily snatching away from him. "Don't play games with me. Not right now, Aiko. Tell me the truth." The tone of his voice was off. It kept switching and even shaking a bit which made it hard to tell whether he was mad and demanding this of her. Or if he was pleading with her to ease his heart and calm his emotions.

She winced as he grabbed her wrist. That did it in for her. Her eyes grew dark as she dropped the water bottle and kicked up aimming for his jaw. "Let me go!" She snapped at him as she twisted her body feeling a soft pop of her wrist coming free from him. Slipping back from him as she glared at him.

"If you gathered information then you didn't do a good job." She snapped at him as she head to the table where she retrived her weapons. She knew he'd could kill her if she made a move first towards him. Walking away from him as she went back to her room where she got undressed then redressed in jeans and a tank top. There she pulled on her holster and slipped a white leather jacket over it.

Though she walked out looking at him. "I am apart of the Cresent family but while Mr. Carter lived around young children our Bosses made a deal. So who ever killed Carter is pitting us against eachother. Though there is a chance that there maybe a double agent among either ranks." Her tone was cold and wasn't soft since he grabbed her. Though she looked at her work phone seeing her boss was requesting her presence. "Besides, if you'd think I'd target you, think again. I won't allow any other family member to target you since you are my play toy because you match me in every sense."

Angel had asked her a simple and easy question. He wanted a yes or no answer but for some reason that seemed to be the hardest thing for her to do. Her actions were telling him that. Grabbing her hand was the least he managed himself to accomplish since the thought of striking her had entered his mind. But he went with the wrist but soon she went back into attack mood which was something he preferred. His released her to move and block the foot that was coming his way.

He moved to the side which caused her foot to move across his cheek, grazing him. He stumbled back from the surprise and went to strike out at her with his right hand. The blade was kept back so he would be hitting her with the tip of the handle but she had already moved from the kitchen. "You work for and you kill for him. I think my information is pretty accurate!" He shot back at her only to watch her head into the bedroom and come back out fully dressed. He grabs a few kitchen knives, calculated their weight, and threw them across the room. They would fly passed her and stab into the front door letting her know they were far from talking.

"I didn't come here seeking vengeance for them. The entire underworld will face that." He bellowed out as he leaps over the counter and rushes after her. They weren't done and he wasn't about to let her go that easily. "I came to figure if you're setting me up. Are you spying for them. Do I have to watch my back with I'm with you?!" He asked her as he reaches out to pull her towards him by grabbing her arm to make sure she couldn't fully get away from him. Hearing her last words made his brow narrow and display how pissed off he was at her. "And why the fuck couldn't you start with that?!" He damn near shouted at her.

Angel felt relief wash over him and his expression soften again while looking to her. His hand moved from her arm and down to rest in her hand to show his aggression was settling. "Now I do wanna whip your ass." He said to her but he knew to remain on the defensive. Just because she had eased his heart didn't mean she wasn't still pissed off.

With her walking out fixing her jacket she looked up having the knives zoom right past her face. This shocked her but when she came back to reality she felt his hand grabbed her tightly on her arm making her wince in pain. "You mother..." she bit her lower lip as she struggled to get loose but the pain grew to be to much as she grew still glaring at him.

"True, the Crescent family sent me to the streets to find Carter's replacement and if found kill them." She looked away from him. She couldn't believe she was telling him this. "Just stay away from me, Angelo." She said softly when she felt him grabbing her hand, finally her features soften with her looking down.

When he mentioned about whipping her ass she just shook her head and pulled away from him. Her heart seemed to slow down with the thought that came to mind.

"Angelo..." she said as she looked up at him with sadden eyes. "Don't come looking for me. If we're enemies then we'll meet on the battle field though you won't be my target." She said before pulling away from him as she grabbed the helmet that was beside her door then grabbed her keys. "There one less mafia family to worry about and I am guessing our families will be fighting over their turf."

If there was going to be a fight there was no way she can be captured if she was more than likely his men would rape, torture and then kill her afterwards. If she didn't kill any of Angelo's members then she'd be punished. Hanging her head as she opened the door to leave but something inside told her she'd be killed soon. Sighing as she disappeared out the door and headed down stairs with her mind a blank and her heart very heavy with what was to come. Disappearing to the side allies as she got on her motorcycle. With her driving down the streets the image of Angelo kept appearing in her mind that face he made when he kept asking her even when he knew the answer to his fear. She was another hunter among other hunters but she was the one hunting him. Tears ran down her cheeks as she arrived back to the Family's headquarters and inside she was instructed to try on one of their suits.

When she got undressed one of the men shouted about why was she bleeding. Aiko smirked as she looked over her shoulder. "Rough sex. Nothing can top that." She was lying for Angelo but the men smirked as she dressed in a gray pin stripped slacks with a white blouse with a gray vest that was fitted to her tiny waist. Her boss walked over into the small room and kissed her cheek as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"You look wonderful and apart of this family." He said as he pinched her tight ass. "Tonight you, me and a few others are going to get something to eat." He smirked at her before walking away getting the feeling something was off about her. Though Aiko was left there in that room in her new clothes as she thought back to Angelo.

When night came Aiko was at her boss's right side as he escorted her into a fine Italian restaurant where two men stood out in the front and two others at the back. Aiko sat at the table in her new clothes but she was wearing her holster out in the open. Her boss suggested it wasn't proper but since she got a licenses then it doesn't matter. With the men eating Aiko just drank red wine with some bread. Something about that night seemed off to her.

The event didn't at all unravel the way he had planned or even thought they would. First scenario he figured they fight and one of them would end up died. Oddly enough he figured that would be him if she was in top shape and he couldn't manage to get a good hit in. Then there was the scenario that it wasn't true or maybe even she would be a double agent for him. Neither of them were likely, but he still hoped that would turn out to be. As things unfolded and she told him she was told to find and kill him, he wasn't at all shocked.

The fact he was still alive meant she was prolonging it, haven't decided yet, or didn't want to do it. However the order for him to leave her be was something he knew he couldn't follow. She of all people should know he wasn't that good at taking orders given the many verbal fights him and their squad leader got into. Sadly he wasn't given time to talk this over and give his view on things. She had taken her things and rushed out of the building without allowing him the slightest chance to say anything. He felt anger boil up inside of him and threw a knife into one of her walls.

That didn't at all calm him down, but it was a start. He made sure everything was good and turned off before leaving out shortly after her. Making sure to lock the door on his way out. Once inside his borrowed car, he started it up and made his way back across town to his mansion. Inside he was greeted by his worried crew who had been wondering where he was including where his bodyguard's vehicle was. He place their hearts and minds at ease, but failed to tell them the truth of where he was.

Letting them believe he had went to screw some chick he met the other night, something that wasn't at all a stretch. The seven of them went into the kitchen where someone was making breakfast, something he was indeed in the mood for since he lost the chance back at Aiko's house. They sat around talking about their usual conversation along with the normal topics that never got old for them. Bitches, hoes, women, money, cars, and sports. And who said men only had one thing on their minds? This served well to rid Aiko from his thoughts or at least he thought it would at the beginning.

She seemed to be a force of nature the way she continued to enter his mind. How often she did would make one wonder if they didn't share feelings stronger than they let on. Soon nightfall came and the seven of them had returned once more. Maurice was wearing the same thing from that morning and most had one some form of street clothes, all but one of them. "Lets go introduce myself." Over the polo shirt he wore, he had a dual black leather holster that held two guns under both his arms. Every one of them carried a weapon concealed in some way or form since tonight could evolve into something more than slightly interesting.

Less than an hour later, the group of seven had increased to two when they arrived at the Italian restaurant. "Their inside." One of them said after exiting the SUV that had been parked down the street. "Lets go." Minutes later they entered the place while making their way directly over to where the Cresent Family was. Maurice was located in the middle behind a well dressed man who appeared to be in his forties. The man was of a dark chocolate complexion, rough features, and every piece of hair shaved from his head. "Mr. Cresent." The man said with a wide face grin on his face.

"I think it is only right to introduce myself. I am Tony Carter, the new leader of the Carter family. I'm the younger brother to Old man carter." The man said while Maurice's eyes moved across the table and locked onto the features of Aiko. There was no malice or hate in his eyes as he looked at her and even gave her a smile and wink of his eye. He was curious to see how she would react and if she was the only one who knew the man talking was a fake. A decoy for this reason alone.

The white haired man looked up at the gentlemen before him as he sensed Aiko's attitude towards him. Smirking as he leaned back in his chair with Aiko standing up but he grabbed her belt loop then yanked her into his lap. Aiko glared at her boss as she was forcing herself not to strike out a him.

"I never knew Carter had a younger brother. Though nice to meet you but if you don't mind, get out. This is a private dinner." He said as he bit into Aiko's shoulder, roughly. Her wincing within his arms sent gave him pleasure in a different sense. Aiko sat there looking over the other men but noticed the others of their family who were outside weren't there. Getting an uneasy feeling as Aiko tried to get up but her boss refused.

This time her back was pressed against his chest. Her boss was using her as a shield if any man were to open fire. This act sicken her to the core. The only time she was used as a shield was when Jessie was shot and she got in the line of fire taking the bullet that would have killed him.

Aiko's body trembled wondering why was this man lying since he wasn't the Carter's boss. Instead of giving it away as she leaned forward looking at the man before them. "Sorry to interrupt but why are you exactly here? No one in our family killed your brother. If I remember right as long as he benefited he children in the projects then he wasn't our target." She looked away from him as a lock of her hair fell over her eyes but her hands were out and in the open so Maurice wouldn't get jumpy since her gun was in plain sight.

Of course there was lies within what the man was saying, but there was also truth. Tony really was the younger brother of Dominic Carter, the last boss. He was also the half brother but that wasn't the reason he was passed up over Angel for the right to control the family. He knew why and accepted it since he wanted his brother's empire to grow instead of crumble. Tony narrowed his eyes as he heard the words of the other only to step closer after removing his hands from his pocket. "My brother was soft. I have yet to decide whether our truce will remain." He informed the man but Angel held his emotions in check since that was not something he wanted to let slip.

"And as for your dinner." And with that, one of the man's large hands smacked the plate of food clear across the room. "Ain't shit private when I'm around." Tony locked his eyes onto those of Mr. Cresent while standing back up and looking down to the man. It was clear he was a hot headed thug, his flaw clear as day but he was the best and most believable pick to be his decoy. The man didn't even look towards Aiko when she talked only spoke through his teeth. "Everyone is responsible for the death of my brother and his family. Everyone will pay us back that debt." Tony cleared up for her only to add. "And I came just so this muthafucka could see the face of the man that takes everything from him." He told them.

Angel watched Aiko and kept himself under control as he witnessed how the man treated her. This was what she was holding onto with them? She could be treated much better within his ranks. He wouldn't allow himself to let something like that get under his skin. Instead he checked his watch before leaning in to whisper into the ear of his boss. "I almost forgot about that." Tony said while turning his attention back to Mr. Cresent.

"Enjoy your dinner." With that, Tony turned around and while three men moved ahead of him, the others remained with their eyes on everyone else to make sure no one tried anything. Angel gave her one last look before heading out with the rest of them. They remained on guard as they waited for Tony to climb into the waiting Bentley. They had to visit a few other families. Hopefully this would allow him some breathing room and not have to watch his back too much. Tony's personality would make his forward introduction believable. That was the gamble anyway, but Angel knew not to bank everything on one plan.

Aiko's boss didn't flinch when Tony slapped the dishes aside but when the men left he kept hat soft smile on his lips. Letting Aiko go as he watched her spring free from his grasps. The rest of his men gathered as he got to his feet straightening his tie out.

"Kill them all. I don't want any surviving family in this fucking area." He said in a chilled voice but when Aiko went to join the rushing men, Mr. Crescent grabbed her long hair. She gave off a soft cry of pain when he yanked her to his side. His lips came close to her ear as he whispered. "Don't fuck up. Its death or death. Your choice." He let her go as he went out in front of her then disappeared in his little BMW.

Aiko stood there as five men looked at her through the windows. In their mind they rather have her lead them since she got beaten up for some of their mistakes. After awhile the six of them took off on their motorcycles then the six split up. Hopefully to end this quickly. Each had their own secret stash that the other members never knew of. Shortly they were stocked with weapons and they were off to find their targets.

Aiko returned to the family's headquarters knowing this is where it was going to end. Entering the building as one man grabbed her weapons and tossed them aside. Apparently her Boss thought if she was seen with him and acted like she was apart of them then she should be marked. Though Aiko didn't know of this as she entered her Boss's office where in the fire place was an iron rod with the family's crest in the ashes.

Aiko can hear over the radio men screaming, bullets being fired then the dead silence. "District 17 clear." A panting voice called out as more districts were cleared out. Aiko stood in silence as this just reminded her of the missions she had with Angelo. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she bit her lip to keep still though she looked up at her approaching Boss. Taking a shaky breath as she felt his hand clash up side her face sending her into the wall.

"Thanks to your skills we're close to being the most feared family in this state. To show my gratitude I welcome you into this family with full trust." His voice sounded mocking as he grabbed the iron and approached her limp form. There he went to his knee and ripped her blouse open to brand her lower stomach. Before he could come close Aiko's hand rammed into his nose, breaking it. He screamed in pain as he fell back onto the floor with Aiko scrambling to her feet. She got herself into this and she couldn't ask Angelo for help.

In matter of moments Aiko was fighting her boss hand to hand and she was struggling. Aiko was sent into walls, desk top, having her wounds ripped open. Though she delivered damage deep down into the tissue around the major organs. Her body was trembling as she never really recovered after the harsh day to day trainings and missions. It finally clicked to her the reason she didn't want Angelo to save her it was because she wanted to prove to him she can survive without his help. Upon realizing it a shot rang out as a bullet was sent through her back. Pain surged through her body as she fell to the carpeted floor. It was one of the five men who split up from her. He only shot her to keep her from being killed in the end by their boss though he and the others left destruction in their wake to lead Angelo to their headquarters.

There really wasn't too many members of the Carter family. There was maybe thirty all together, but none of them had any problems with their small numbers. It was easier to hide and blend in. It also made it that much harder to locate them since their numbers could falsely swell and decrease at any moment. Each one of those ten members that made the showing at the restaurant began to get calls back to back. And in turn they began to call Angelo or his second to confirm what they were being told.

A grin spread across the features of Angelo as he sat there next to Tony who was nursing his broken nose. The reward for stepping beyond what he was told. "Everyone report back to the docks. We'll bottle neck them and crush'em." With that, calls went out to withdraw everyone regardless of the reason or cause. They were to do as told or meet their end by the Cresent family. Things were good and bad. They had yet to completely move their operation from that area so they were fully stocked and still held their security systems.

The Bentley began to pick up speeds to ensure they made it to their destination within a good time frame. However their route had been changed since he had complete faith in his soldiers. A king should be the one to kill a king. That was the way he saw it, so they moved and headed to make another stop first.

The warehouse at the docks was nicely carried with two guards at the entrance to their warehouse had more than doubled. Two SUVs were parked at an angle with man on one side allow the vehicles to act as a shield. Men were stationed on the roof of the building and others in the area. Every one of their members began to show up more and more, making the numbers increase and strengthen their defense. When they came back with tag along, the extra baggage was easily cut down. There was only one entrance to the docks and their men had been spread out from that point and leading up to the warehouse at the end.

Equiped with body armor and assault riffles, they were ready for whatever attempted to enter the docks. That was especially so for any cops that wanted to venture into the place.

Angel and his small little unit soon found themselves smashing through the gates that protected the Cresent family's home. The few cars came flying into the place while some hung out the windows to shot and drop anyone that stood in their way. Angel climbs out with an assault riffle that took him back to his days in the Marines along with a bulletproof vest. With his two bodyguards at his side and Tony covering his back, they rushed into the building. It surely didn't take long before the singing of their weapons became the song crying out from the front yard and the lower levels of the building. He had the urge to call out for Aiko, but he held that end as Tony took point and rushed to the office.

Mr. Crescent looked up as he heard guns firing. His men were being killed as he grabbed his rifles only to see the bleeding Aiko getting to her feet. "What the hell?!" He went to fire at her but noticed her eyes were black and she had her daggers on her. He ordered the men to disarm her but it hit him that the man who shot Aiko gave her her daggers without him knowing it. He danced around in his office unable to get a shot off as Aiko kept slicing, dodging and kicking him. He was kicked through the door of his office onto the floor that over looked the first floor where Angelo was killing his followers.

Aiko stumbled out of the office and could hear the gun firing but she charged at her Boss only to get hit with the butt of his pistol. It dazed her but when she looked up to see him aiming his pistol at her. Blood dripped from the exit wound as her body trembled. Her vision was growing blurry as she noticed her boss slowly pulling the trigger and her falling to the ground.

She heard someone yelling out to her in the distance but she looked up to see a black haired man hitting her Boss right over the railing. Aiko closed her eyes and passed out with the back haired guy getting shot himself. Aiko laid there as all chaos happened but the man who shot her was skilled enough not to hit her anywhere near her vital organs or vessels.

Complete and utter war had spilled out into the law and within the residence of the Cresent Family. To think that such a large crime syndicate would find themselves cut down on two shorts and by a much smaller force. This was there fault, they believed to try to surprise attack the Carter family and think to catch them off guard. That wasn't possible, they couldn't be caught with their pants down since they never wore any. A line his close friend use to use before he died. Tony had raised up the steps with his gun being wielded like it was the handle of a massive sword.

Its bullets being the blade that sliced down all that came to stand in his way. Angel was close behind him and his military training in full effect as he placed his left hand onto the back of his comrade. This let him know where he was at all times so they didn't run the chase of bumping or shooting each other. Only for brief moments did his hand leave his friends and that was to take aim at someone that was coming out of a room or entering the hallway. Where everyone else sprayed like their bullets would never run out, Angel would only use a maximum of three shots. His bullets didn't seem to know how to miss a target or wound them.

Every shot went to a vital point, if they didn't die from a direct hit they'd be dead before help came. None of them seem to know mercy, any and everyone who stood before them was put down. The maid with the duster, the cook running for cover, especially the dog who wouldn't shut the hell up. Things only got worst as the rest of them began to enter the building only to shout. "Front Clear!" Their backs were safe then. When they turned to make their way to the office, the doors burst open with Mr. Cresent and Aiko rushing out of it.

Angel was doing his best to rush down the hallway to jump into the fight before stopping, dropping to his knee, and taking aim. However just seconds before he could pull the trigger, Mr. Cresent had done so. "AIKO!" Angel roared as he raced down the hallway while others planting enough bullets into Mr. Cresent he could give birth to a gun. All clears shouted out as he got to Aiko's side and tried his best to check on her condition. He was never the medic of the group but all knew the basics to at least stop the bleeding and allow time for one to show. That was just as he did while Tony put the call in on his cell and stood above his boss like a protective bear.

While out Aiko was seeing a different world. This world was peaceful and on a country side and she could hear children laughing in the distance with a puppy barking. Though it ended when she started to hear someone calling her. Aiko was ripped from that world and placed back in the world with the smell of blood and gun fire. Blinking her eyes as she felt something press down into her but she didn't feel any pain as she looked up to see it was Angelo kneeing before her. A smile played onto her lips as she relaxed before him.

"What took you so long?" She asked softly then noticed the bodies of the men who introduced her into Angelo's world laying out in a sea of blood. Sighing as she closed her eyes wondering why haven't they killed her yet. Slowly she reached out and placed her hand on his thigh as she dug her finger tips into him to let him know he wasn't going to lose her that easily. Though she looked up to see someone large standing over Angelo but her smile never faded as she heard rushing foot steps.

"I see Tony came to the party." She felt the need to keep talking to ensure herself that she was awake. Thankfully the old Carter was smart enough to employ someone who had a natural talent for medicine. A slender man in blue jeans and a black shirt rushed upstairs after checking everyone for wounds but when he came to see his boss kneeing over a young woman wearing a high end suit he looked at Angelo. Without asking questions at this moment he went over and pushed Angelo's hands away then took his knife out as he sliced the vest and blouse up her spine. Freeing her from her clothes he saw the wound wasn't bleeding. Smiling weakly as he stitched one side only to noticed Aiko's body was tensing. Working quickly as he turned her over to see the entry wound, smaller than the exit, was a clean shot. He stitched then added a sap to keep the wounds from being infected. He stayed silent as he bandaged her torso making sure he covered her breasts.

With everything done he looked a Angelo while keeping his hand on Aiko's shoulder. "Sir, are you sure about this?" He nodded to Aiko as if to silently say if he was sure about not killing her when in fact she was a Crescent family member. Though he jumped when Aiko moved slightly only to move closer to Angelo.

Angel narrowed his gaze at her when he noticed her speaking or at least trying to. She was from the same background and training as him, so why was she being so foolish. If she wasn't so hurt, he'd pop her against the forehead but at the moment he feared that would make matters worst. "Aiko, shut that shit up. You know you should be saving your strength." He instructed well more like told her as he laid her down on her back. He was about to remove her top so he could see the wound and how bad it was, but another man had made it to him. He hadn't thought Dr. Jills was among their ranks, but with a knowing look from Tony he realized the hospital wasn't there way in the first place.

A smirk came to him as he let the man do as he needed while keeping a close eye on her face. There he could see the pain and any other emotion written upon it as the man worked. Angel did what he was use to, he sealed his emotions away to make sure they didn't get in the way and hinder the doctor as he worked. The man was good which only made it sad that the man had lost his licenses when he kicked his wife with a scalpel. Now that he thought about it, maybe the man was here for the entire fight. When the man looked to him with that calm and worried expression, his words only brought anger from the Carter boss.

"You're here for a reason, not to question my reasons." Angel answered which gave the man the clear sign that he was not to be asked questions like that. He told everyone on day one that the only questions should come his way were when and how. Never a what and why. "This is my family, Dr.Jills." Was the only reason he gave, mainly because he needed this man to do his job and take care of her. Of course Dr.Jills was annoyed for how the young boss spoke to him like he was another common thug within his ranks. However with his experience as a medical personal, this was the normal and expected.

Even more so when the person was close to you. For those reasons and the fact Tony stood directly behind him, he would let it slide. "Let her get lots of rest. I'll come see her tomorrow to check on her condition." The man said as he rose and soon Angel did while Tony's muscular form reached down to lift Aiko up like she was a pillow. As gentle and with just as much effort. "Then lets wrap things up here. Plunder as you wish." He told the waiting crew like they were a bunch of pirates. Tony followed his boss out to the Bentley where the driver had been ducked down in the backseat. "Its over James, lets go." The bony man climbed out of the car and straightened his suit like it was all for show.

"Don't worry, I had your car completely covered." A knowing smirk from Angel caused him to clear his throat and look away before the part climbed into the backseat. Tony moved to sit in the front to allow Aiko to recline with her head in Angel's lap. "I think I have a nice position for you within my organization. I hope your interested." Angel told his old friend with a smirk as the car pulled off to take them to his mansion.

Aiko looked at the Doctor shocked that a doctor was among his ranks but of course in this world anything was possible. Not saying a word but winced when Tony gathered her up into his arms. She bit her lower lip as she wanted to cling to something but wrapped her arms around her waist. Trembling as her flesh was cold but with Tony holding her it sent chills through her body. Angelo's words still rang through her mind as he snapped at the doctor of not questioning his authority when it came to certain matters. Aiko stayed still as she didn't fight to get away from Tony but he handled her with ease as if he done this plenty of times. Her eyes landed on the nervous driver when Angelo mentioned about covering his car but she didn't ask but smiled.

When Tony made his way inside the Bentley she winced as he moved around to make thing comfortable for her and him. "Ah..." She cried out as it felt like the pain stabbed through her back to her front making her heart clench up. After the short moments after Tony stopped moving she reclined out resting her head on Angelo's lap. A faint smile appeared on her lips when he mentioned of a position within his organization. Closing her eyes for a moment but looked up at Angelo.

"Angelo, can I ask a favor of you?" Her voice was weak but in her mind the men she took the beatings for were still out there in the shadows. Those four men were her unit in a sense as they screwed up and she cleaned up their messes and trained them in their weak areas. "Theres a black haired man your men shot...Don't destroy his body." Her body trembled as she felt the cold air hitting her flat stomach. In her mind if the four men were still alive she wouldn't allow them to be taken out so easy. It was one of Angelo's traits that rubbed off onto her in the past.

Angel saw the pain she was in from her movement, but there was nothing he could do. She had to be placed in the car and they had to leave before the cops came. Luckily no one rushed to the house of a mob boss that quickly, so they could take their times and enjoy themselves. Once everyone was settled and her head was in his lap, he looked down at her with a smile on his features. His hand moving to caress the side of her face, brushing any stray hair from hindering his view of her face. When he heard her question, he gave a slight nod of his head. "Go head."

What could she be possibly asking for that he could say no to? He surely couldn't think of one and when he heard her request, it was easy for him. "Sure. And I'm sorry about killing him." Angel told her though he wasn't the one that took the shot, Tony had put the man down. "Shit man, he had a gun in his hand. How was I to know he was friendly?" Tony said quickly trying to defend himself. He could see she had a connection with Angel and surely didn't want anything to happen to him off her whim. "Its okay, it was unavoidable." Angel told his friend so he didn't get over emotional about things.

The Bentley drove passed a blacked out car as its occupants watched the luxury car spend buy. "How much longer?" One of the snapped towards the man in the front passenger seat. "How this rate they run this fucking city?!" The one behind the driver asked with the same impatiences as his partner. The one in the front only grins as he looked into the rear view to watch the Bentley disappearing down the road. "Let them climb. They them reach their highest peak. Then we'll knock out their support and smash them back down to earth." The man said as he reaches up with his hook of a left hand to pull down the visor and look at his face in the mirror.

Half of his features were melted, having been disfigured by the fire he had been abandoned in. "They will surely pay." The man said with a deadly glare as his horrible form.

She smiled at Tony when he cursed that he didn't know he was friendly. "Its fine. My old boss was going to kill me so he stepped in the line of fire." Finally she closed her eyes as she rested in Angelo's lap not knowing they were being watched. Though in the back allies the men she worked with were tailing them to make sure the Bentley wasn't attacked either. Within the Bentley Aiko reached up and placed her hand on Angelo's toned stomach.

Aiko rested there as she could hear the humming of the tires along the pavement. "How far is it to your place?" She asked in a soft voice as she could hear sirens in the distance. She could only imagine the cops were heading back to the Crescent building. Thankfully Angelo kept her from being killed by his men after she took out one of his own. Though her body relaxed after awhile not knowing they were being targeted but she opened her eyes looking up at Angelo.

"Angelo, what ever happened to our Unit?" She asked as she nuzzled closer to his stomach with her feeling safe and secure around him like in the past. Its been awhile since she heard from anyone from their old unit for years. She couldn't get a hold of anyone seeing their information wasn't available. Sighing as she looked up at him with her being glad she was able to find Angelo. The man who kept her safe long enough to mature and get stronger in many ways.

It didn't take long for them to reach the mansion, mainly because of the speed they were doing. They needed to put as much distance as they could between them and the Cresent home. Soon they were driving past the gates that bordered his home where a ton of cars awaited them. The battered and bruised faces of his soldiers greeted the Bentley with a proud smile. Some were forced and he knew it had to be because of a lost. It wasn't possible for them to have such a war and come out unharmed.

They weren't invisible, highly trained and skilled, but not immortal. He looked down to Aiko as she asked him how much longer they had until they reached his home and merely gave her a smile as they came to a stop. "We still got a ways to go." He teased before her door was open and he helped Tony get her out only to carry her to one of the guest rooms. He talked with his troops to find out that out of the thirty of them, they lost eleven men with two slightly wounded. Out of the ten he had taken to the manor, he lost two. So there was about twenty of them left but he was okay with that and had no problem with it.

"Rest up, lay low. For the next few days, we're a normal family. We'll mourn our dead, heal our wounded, and replenish our loses." He told them while looking to his bodyguards and seeing his second nodding his agreement. No one asked about the girl, they knew who she was but not one dared to question why she was being cared for. Soon Angel went into the house and found the room where she was staying, two bedrooms to the left of his. He nods his head to give Tony permission to leave, closing the door behind him. As the former Marine moved towards the bed to sit on its edge, he was given a question and forced to look into a past he had forgotten. He thought she would have known since she served a bit longer than him, but she did transfer out of the unit once he left.

"I heard a few months after I finished my tour." Angel began while moving to lay out on the bed next to her. His hands on his stomach as he looked up to the ceiling. "After you were transferred and I left, they were sent on some mission in South Korea. Turns out the mission went bad and they were gunned down without completing it. I heard our replacements were fresh out of boot camp and cracked under the pressure. At least that's what I was told." He said with a shrug of his soldiers.

Smiling at his teasing but winced as Tony tried to be gentle with her when he and Angelo got out of the Bentley. Aiko's eyes fell on the men who forced smiles upon their faces. She could only imagine they lost friends in the fight but it couldn't be helped. Though she imagined they figured out who killed one of the youngest members, Travis. When she was separated from Angelo she looked up at Tony as she didn't want to be parted from Angelo since she was in no condition to fight. She stayed tense the whole time Tony held her and took her through the mansion. Her eyes scanned the paintings as some she was familiar with the artists but most she found pleasing.

When Tony reached the bedrooms she balled her hands up to fight him off if he tried anything but to her shock he didn't. All he done was place her on a large soft bed then stood by the door as if to guard her from any other family member. Aiko watched him just stand there but she did sit up and look around the room. For a guest room it was clean and held a warm welcoming feel to it. Aiko sat there with her hair falling over her shoulders when she noticed Angelo entering the room. The sense about him made her look away from him thinking he was disappointed with her for the life she chose. She imagined he thought she'd be married with a child on the way but the married life wasn't for her unless she found the right guy. Until she found the right guy she intended to live life on how she wanted to.

Though she looked back at him when he came to join her on her bed. Looking over at him as he laid down beside her. Her eyes fell from his form as he told her that their old unit was killed or so she thought then the new ones just cracked. Smirking as she laid down at his side with her head on his shoulder. "I guess our unit was lucky to have someone with experience to lead us." She said with s mile as she looked up at him and her placing her hand onto his upper arm. "You know I'd never turn against you, right Angelo...My Guardian Angel...." She said with a soft laugh before she closed her eyes but felt relaxed as she felt no pain.

When they said the Carter Family was a family, that was true to the word. That was shown by the pictures and paintings around the house. All of different members of the family. Some taking poses and others wrestling or goofing off in some way or form. The core of the family was in the living room on the wall above the fire place. The one she didn't have a chance to see.

It features old man Carter sitting in a chair with Angel and his close friend on either side of the old man. Tony stood behind the chair with his two sons at the sides of the other two boys. All dressed in the finest suits that money could buy. And to think Aiko had been marked by one of these members the moment she talked to him at the party. There wasn't a member in his family that would lay a harmful or hand of malice towards her. All this without even a word from Angel. He had proven himself to be a smart and strong leader, one they could respect and knew why old man Carter had chosen him.

He also didn't have any plans mapped out for her life. He had always hoped whatever she did she was happy and safe, but it was clear she wasn't. Punishing her or yelling at her wouldn't cause her to change her mind, so there was no point in doing so. When she got better, he did plan to bop her against the forehead though for putting him through so much trouble. "Nah. I think it was the fearsome femme fatal that gave us our success." He said after a brief pause. He had been taken back by her resting her head on him like that.

Angel couldn't remember how long its been since they had been so close to one another. He found himself chuckling at that last part since that wasn't the name his enemies and those in the family had began to call him. "Actually, they call me the Angel of Death now." He said with another laugh since he found it funny how they always like to twist his name around like that. Just another reason why he had always enjoyed his name.

"Baka, thats what I called you when the war vets asked about my back ground in the marines. I told them I had an Guardian Angel. To this day you proven it true." When she had a broken leg she bought some language cds and learned Japanese and Spanish so Baka meant Idiot. Though she said Baka with affection. She wasn't trying to butter him up for anything because all of this was true. After a few moments of silence n her end she looked up at him with locks of her unruly hair falling over her face. In her heart she knew she caused pain and suffering for everyone around her. Looking away from him as she gripped harder onto his muscular arm.

"I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough, Angelo. Since you were transferred out the unit fought hard to be the leader I took the role by force. After the two years you were gone everything was rough. I didn't realize how much trouble I caused you until I got a rookie on my hands." The past memories came up as if it was still fresh even after being buried for years. "One of our enemies set up a primitive trap of a swinging log. I think you can guess from here how I broke my leg." she couldn't help but smile. "Now I understand the pain and suffering I put you through back then but I never got to thank you for that day when you yanked me free from the unit's grasp and sat me down on that bank..Nearly butt ass naked. You helped me realize I wasn't helping you guys I was making things worse by not working as a team."

Her heavy heart seemed to ache as she came to realize everything almost all at once but she kept a soft smile as she sat up to look down at him. "You saved my life on countless times and by doing that I've helped others in a sense. My life is yours to use as you see fit...." She thought about it but laughed softly at the bad word choice. "Sorry let me rephrase that. I would be happy to work at your side not as a bothersome person but as a partner once more." She said as a tear rolled down her cheek but it wasn't of sadness but of relief. Sitting cross legged as she revealed what her soul's been wanting to say for the longest of time. She felt her place within this cruel underworld was at Angelo's side not to be saved by him but to work with him to bring peace to this over whelming chaos.

Out on the streets four men in their twenties to thirties either dressed in khaki slacks or blue jeans were not even a few blocks close to the Carter's limits. They knew Aiko was inside but only one of them knew her person number but that cell phone was destroyed. The men weren't sure on how to contact her since they did see her as their mini boss within their units. When one of the rookies messed up on a mission she was there to clean it up then re-ensure they will improve. One of the rookies got the main boss upset and Aiko stepped in the way to get the beating. The older men never seen a young woman willing to take such punishment for their mistakes then keep going even after the wounds she got. When they asked her why and all she said was...

"Its my nature. Its what my Guardian Angel left me when he left." she said with a smile that could never be tainted even when blood dripped from her busted lip. The stunned men stood there and watched as Aiko walked off to get cleaned up then continue on her day as if the beating never happened even if she may have suffered from broken bones. It seemed to never take her smile away. One of the men went after her and had pinned her against the wall with that he yelled at her wondering why still she was willing to suffer for them. All she did was look up at him and place her gentle hand on his cheek and said softly.

"I consider all of you my family and I protect my family from any harm."

The youngest of the group sat there remembering what made their small unit stronger in bond. When Aiko was down one stepped up to take any beating that was to come their way. They could only imagine Aiko's life and theirs would be coming to an end since it felt like the six of them were parting from the main family. Now the main family gone and Aiko in the hands of the Carter's did make them uneasy as they were no match against those men even in their weaken state. Sighing as they looked in the direction of the Carter family and sent silent prayers.

To lay there and here her speaking so highly of him was a bit of nerving. Angel was confident and even conceited sometimes, but to have someone view him the same way never felt right. However he laid there and allowed her to confess and spill her heart out. The Japanese word she used went over his head, he knew only one language and everything else was gibberish. Odd for him to have been a commanding of a unit and not know that many languages. Well he could speak Spanish and middle eastern, but its been so long since he used it.

There was no point trying to embarrass himself and speak it. It was clear she had some things confused and twisted around to help make herself feel better. It was understandable, this was just how she was or at least when around him. He didn't consider her weak for crying, but he loved seeing a smile on those gorgeous features. He turned his head towards her when she pulled away, letting those light brown eyes watch her to show he was listening to her as intently as he could. Here and there he wanted to laugh, it wasn't a funny story or expression of ones feelings.

It was just how she perceived things that made it a bit amusing. Angel had a singluar raised eyebrow, like he was asking her if she was done. At the same time allowing her to speak as she saw fit. If she needed to free her mind and unload her heart, he was always there for her. "First off, I think you'd suck as a commander. You're too head strong." He teased with a laugh only to add. "But you are stronger than you realize, so you don't need to apologize to me. Your strength is immeasurable, so rest your heavy heart." He told her only to shake his head at the other.

"And you were never a burden. You were among the easier rookies I've ever had to deal with. Though one of the only ones I want to fight, but rather easy." With that he laughed a bit and shook his head while sitting up on the bed and turning around to face her. He moved so he was sitting by the pillows to make sure he didn't fall backwards off the bed. His eyes popped open wide to her confession that she'd do anything for him. "I have this leash and coll-" But laughed when she quickly moved to correct herself. "But no. I trust you, but you will have to earn the respect of my family before you can step up to be my second." He informed her.

"You will take orders from me, Tony, Trey, Troy, and Tyree..." Angel then paused and fell silent a bit. No, she couldn't take orders from Tyree. His close friend was no longer any for that, he nearly forgot the man died with his father. The reason he held this position in the first place. "I mean Tony, Trey, and Troy. You will be one of my bodyguards. So that gives you permission to pass on my orders, but you can't give out your own unless it is in line with my wishes." He had to be fair and keep respect the structure of his crew. He couldn't just bring an outsider in and give her such a level of power.

"For now...you are suspended from active duty. You are to completely heal before I put you to work. I can't have a broken soldier." Angel told her with the fact that wasn't a joking command written along his face. He reaches his hand out to place it gently against her cheek so he could wipe away the tear that was rolling down it. "And don't cry anymore, Aiko. It doesn't suit you. Besides, this family has put its pain behind them." He said with a smile on his face to show he wasn't about to let life beat him or anybody else he knew down. He looked at her to see if they had put everything off their chest only to shake his head as he lifts his arms above his head. He leans back to stretch his arms and back some, a popping sound could be heard as he did this.

"You sleep naked or want something of mine to wear?" Angel asked making it clear she was in the house for tonight. He didn't want to leave her but he had to see to the rest of his crew and make sure everyone was good for tonight. "And my room is those double doors at the end of the hall. Can't miss them." He told her as he slide out of the bed to stand next to the edge only to stretch one more time. This being a good one since he could lean back a bit further than he could on the bed. He looked back to her with a soft smile on his features. "And be happy, you're back with your guardian." He told her and playfully pushing the side of her head.

She looked at him when he sat up to see if she was done talking. Now she felt like an idiot for rambling on. Either way she was back at his side but was ready to smack his thigh when he mentioned the leash and collar. Laughing softly but stopped when she felt his hand touching her cheek to wipe the tear away. As long as she could remember she never had him touch her cheek unless there was blood on it. Closing her eyes as she looked down from him until he asked if she slept naked or with clothes. She felt her cheeks grow a bright red.

"I normally sleep with something on. If you don't mind a simple old t-shirt would do." She could only imagine his shirts would come close to her knees if she wore one but that couldn't be helped.

Looking back at him as he told her of the men she'd take orders from until she gained their trust. Looking away as she understood she'd be stuck within this mansion but she couldn't help but feel uneasy. Him saying she wasn't a good leader or wasn't fit for one maybe true and it didn't affect her in one bit.

"No offense Angelo. I'd rather take orders from Tony. It seems he has his temper in check but you may trust your men but...I don't. They may follow orders on not touching me but there are ways of killing me without them doing a damn thing. You know that. So why bring me here when I killed one of your men already?" She decided to say it bluntly as she looked at him when she laid back in the soft pillows but she didn't get to comfortable. Angelo had his ways which she still hasn't figured out just yet. Even all this time of knowing him she could never figure his methods out, that was sad on her part.
