Late nights were really beginning to take a tole on the young witch. Night after night, Alice Lanning would say up as late as she could, scrawling out notes from the oldest of books, working to translate them into the modern language as quickly as she could. The texts weren't time sensitive to have, but she had a lot to work through and it wasn't the simplest of tasks for her. Throughout her twenty-two years on this planet, Alice had known exactly what she was. She was a powerful witch from a family known for their magical talents. The Lannings were ones from a long line, dating back in their roots to Morgana, just as the Arthurian legends had described her. A powerful, controlling and plotting woman with a lust for magic as old as time. Many of her family had tried and tried again to find that power, but none seemed to have succeeded. After years of searching, Alice stumbled onto several of the lost texts which many held the secret to Morgana's power. The dark haired woman took it on herself to struggle through the books, hoping to find the secret...

But in the mean time, Alice had a life to live. She grew up in an average city, lived in an average home with parents who loved and cared for her. The only thing that wasn't average? Well... Alice was a witch, after all. Her mother made sure to teach her every trick she knew while her father nearly forced her nose into the books, drilling potions and spells into her brain until she could spit them back out at a moment's notice. It wasn't the ideal situation to grow up in for a child who only wanted to be 'normal', but she knew it was important for her all the same. As she grew older, she understood what was going on in her life and was far more willing to go along with what her parents were asking her to do. High school graduation came and went for the brown eyed girl and college was the next step.

When she grew old enough to move out of her home, Alice found a small upper level apartment to rent, a job in the occult store below and several online courses to start out with. It wasn't much, but it gave the woman plenty of time to learn and study while keeping the job at the Silver Sands. Life had suddenly turned to the boring side. If things went as they typically did, Alice knew trouble would come through the door any day now and catch her up in a set of complications. With each ring of the bell, the witched looked for a way out of her now mundane life. With each ring, she was disappointed.

Alexander Night was the oldest vampire on this side of the country and he'd just come from England where he'd spent most of his time anyways simply because it was home to him. He'd decided to come to the United States simply because he'd heard that the vampires out that way were having a pretty rough time and being as old as he was as well as a Pure Blood, it was his duty to go and render aid to them. No law had been written about this duty, but every Ancient felt it in their bones. It just kind of came with the territory. Buying a home wasn't hard, living as long as he had he amassed a great deal of wealth mainly from collecting things that at the time were said to be junk and now a days were priceless artifacts from a time forgotten. The house he'd purchased was on the outskirts of the city to keep away from the hustle and bustle of the city life but still keep him close if he needed to help.

Several vampires knew of his presence the moment he arrived, the shift in powers was unimaginable. As it had been several hundreds of years since the last Ancient was around, everyone had forgotten the surge of power that an Ancient had, let alone a Pure Blood. There were very few Pure Blood's left in the world, less then fifty actually. As Alex walked around the city simply trying to get accustomed to his new home he felt something he hadn't felt in a while. Magic. Not just any magic either, strong old magic. The magic he'd felt at random parts around the city was new aged and pathetic compared to the witches in the old days. However as he got closer to the store the vibe coming off of it was very old. Something that he welcomed unlike most because it reminded him of home. Reaching for the door handle he touched it and felt a familiar pinch which made him smirk and he simply pushed the door open, hearing a bell over his head. Looking up at the bell he raised an eyebrow then turned his attention to the items in the store.

Roots, animal feet, powders, all things one would see on the table of a witch's potion brewing. As he walked he ran a hand over his midnight black hair that was combed back and stopped around the bottom of his neck, showing his hair to be about shoulder length. He was wearing a custom made suit, tailored to fit his body. Standing at six feet two inches and weighing just about one hundred eighty pounds, his broad shoulders and strong chest were difficult to find a normal suit to fit. His arms were a bit thicker as well so those had to be fit as well. The suit was all black down to the shoes but the tie was canary yellow, and the reasoning for this is as he walked over to the witch behind the counter he looked up at her with canary yellow eyes, piercing eyes that seemed to look into the depths of her soul as he smiled at her and gave her a bow.

"Hello my dear, pleasure to see you. It has been a good long while since I've felt magic like this. It is a true wonder you've managed to keep it alive and for that I applaud you."

He said as he smiled at her. His tone was nothing short of friendly, his body language was relaxed and the English accent to his voice let her know he was new in town. The only thing that was off about him was the enormous amount of raw power flowing off of him. No vampire in this city had anything even scraping the surface of what was coming off of him so freely.

This time, when the chimes rang, Alice was in the back of the shop, organizing several of the storage shelves. With a new shipment came a good bit of unpacking, setting out new merchandise and even more organizing. She was softly humming to herself, even through the chiming, softly singing along to the Celtic sounds filling the front of the shop. Many of the customers who wandered into the shop were New Age wannabes, looking for new crystals or some random totem animal they thought would give them power, but on occasion there was an honest to god witch coming in to gather something that they needed for their latest spell or potion. That was when Alice really enjoyed the job.

She came out of the back, wiping her hands on a towel which she was careful to leave in the back, smiling to the customer. The first thing she noticed was the man's height. Six foot was a height she didn't always see in the town, and she hadn't seen this man before in her life. He was certainly new to the town, and quite attractive, if someone asked her honest opinion. And the suit... That was something men just didn't wear any more. Something was off about him and within seconds, Alice knew exactly what it was. His piercing yellow eyes fell onto her, sending a shiver rushing down her spine. He had something lingering around him that the witch simply couldn't put her finger on. And the gentlemanly sound of his words, or his words in general, didn't put her at ease right away.

"Magic?" she asked, tipping her head slightly, leaning forward onto the case in front of the register. It was a typical show that she put on for the customers, feeling the need to hide her true self until she was sure of who was on the other side of the counter. The last thing she wanted was to let a fake magic user know what was really out there. Or worse yet, a witch hunter. Her chocolate brown eyes broke from his to scan him over, sliding back slightly to stand at her full height of five foot six. His sweet English accent was bothering her slightly, or more like the suddenly relaxed feeling she was getting from it, while his own pulse of power made her quickly tense again.

Something deep down told her to get away from him. Her mother had tried to drill that idea into her since she was very young, but being the curious rebel that she was, Alice dared to press forward, wanting to speak to the man despite everything she thought was right. Her nerves were on edge, but she made sure to smother that fear as quickly as she could. "How long, exactly?" she asked, hesitantly leaning forward again, folding her hands on the blanket covered glass protecting her from the man. "Such a compliment coming from a man as you are is quite a gift. Should I be thanking you or running into the back?"

Alex could see the confusion and the scent of burning wood was the distinct scent of fear. Small amounts but it was still there. She was taught the old magic, but she was young. She'd never seen anything like him and he smiled at this. When she asked how long he thought for a moment as he tapped his chin and his eyes scanned the ceiling as if there was something of interest up there. When his canary yellow eyes landed on hers once more he smiled.

"I'd say about three hundred years. As I said, it's been a very long while. As for you running, there is no need child. I have no interest in tasting you. I prefer to drink from those willing."

He said as he smiled at her and his eyes flashed slightly, and as he smiled the two points of his fangs showed. The fangs were long and white, razor sharp as he closed his lips and the slight gleam to his eyes was like that of someone flipping a switch and turning the lights on behind his eyes. As the glow slowly dimmed he heard a chime again followed by a gasp. Slowly turning around he saw an elderly woman, mid to late forties looking at him in shock as he smiled at her. She was another witch. As he looked at her he noticed that they were the only one's in the store. Putting his left hand behind him and his right hand over his chest he bowed to the elderly female.

"Ma'am. I do hope you don't plan on-"

He was cut off as a ball of fire formed in her hand and was thrown his way. Now, if he'd been the vampires they were used to dealing with a ball like the one heading his way would severely hurt him if not kill him. However, with his age and his bloodline he simply held out his hand and caught the ball with ease. Looking at it for a moment he closed his hand as he fire died and he shook the ash from his hand. Sighing a bit he just looked up at the female.

"I was hoping you didn't plan on doing just that. However I can see I'm not welcome here."

Turning back to the young female behind the counter he nodded to her.

"Miss, enjoy your day."

Now most vampires would have ported out of the building to avoid further confrontation but Alex however just headed towards the older woman since she was by the door. He walked right past her since she seemed too stunned to really react and walked out of the building, shutting the door softly behind him as he continued on his way down the street.

Alice dared to smile, only for it to fade when the man's fangs came out. Her pleased look seemed to vanish, eyes looking over his lips and teeth, only to meet his eyes again just in time to see his eyes flash. This man was three hundred? She had books as old as him, but none of them looked nearly as good. They were in good condition, but Alex held the award for most attractive item. She was about to speak again, but the door opened before she had the chance and she turned just a bit of her attention towards the door with a faint smile. It all vanished when the woman gasped and almost instantly jumped into action. Even with Alex's polite bow and sign of respect, the elder witch still went ahead and tossed a fireball towards him.

The shop worker tensed instantly and ducked back, almost hiding behind the counter, her eyes watching the flaming ball as it came towards the man. Shock crossed her senses when she watched him catch the ball, letting out her own gasp, eyes widening for a moment. She caught herself before she ducked down behind the counter, lifting herself back up to meet his eyes as soon as he turned back to her. She gave a small, hesitant nod, watching him leave the shop just before her eyes trailed to the second customer.

"Flora, he wasn't doing anything," she argued, leaving the space behind the counter and walking towards the window, looking out to the sidewalk outside. She moved just enough so she could watch him on his way down the street until he was completely out of her sight. She didn't get a name, any way to contact him... Flora had come in at just the right time to send him away without another clue about him. Alice held back a sigh as she left the window and turned back to the woman. "Really you lot..." She shook her head before offering her help to the next customer. And every customer after that for the rest of the day. The rest of the day was full of helping guests, setting up the back room and half hoping that the mysterious man would return even just for another few minutes.

Alex walked around that day simply getting to know his surroundings and visiting a few vampire families who were aware of his presence in the city and greeted him as the Master Vampire that he was. Word began to quickly spread over the next few days about a Master Vampire that had come into the city. Rumor had it that he was about seven hundred almost eight hundred years of age and they were right. Alex knew he was an old timer as the youth called him, but at the same time, he didn't feel as old as he was. He wasn't so old that his memory was fading or his skin was wearing down. He still looked to be mid twenties and at most he felt to be mid thirties.

A few days after his little encounter with the witches he got the strange urge to go back to the store he'd seen the young witch in. She had intrigued him quite a bit and he wanted to know why he was so drawn to her. At his age, someone drawing you to them was not something one ignored. Today he was wearing a black suit jacket, red silk dress shirt and a black velvet vest that had floral designs sewn into it. His pants were designer dress trousers and his shoes were just as polished as the rest of him. Walking by the store his senses told him she was in there and she was alone. Smirking he simply pushed the door open and that familiar bell rang. Seeing she wasn't at the front of the store he checked his watch. It was about six in the evening so she was probably in the process of closing down.

With this little bit of knowledge he simply looked around the store, keeping his back to the counter that she worked at and looked at a few of the books. Seeing how old they were made him smile, he noticed that a lot of the things on the shelves were for novice or wannabe witches, and speak of the devil, two females came walking into the store wearing all black shirts and skirts. High stalkings and black make up around their eyes. They each had an amulet around their necks and when they saw Alex they both oogled him. He simply gave them a soft smile and nodded to them as he returned to looking at the things on the shelves.

Most of her days Alice found to be boring. Same thing over and over again with nothing to hope for, for the most part. But now that she had seen her mysterious new friend, the young witch had something to look forward to. The chances of him returning were probably slim, but Alice kept her eye out for him while still fighting through work and studying. Several witches had made their way through the door which made her life a bit more manageable, but nothing seemed to be right until that man walked back through that door.

It took a few days, but about the time the shop was getting ready to close for the night, the chime of the door echoed through the shop, bringing her attention back to the front of the shop. "Be right with you!" she called out, doing what she could to finish up the bit of paperwork that had to be done in the back. By the time she made it back out to the front, the chimes sounded again and two more women were inside. She gave a quick look over who was inside, spotting the women first before glancing towards the back of the other man. Suit jacket, proper pants... she could guess who that was, even without knowing the man's name. "Can I help you?" she asked, glancing towards the gothic women with a smile.

Luckily they knew what they wanted and with a quick couple of glances back to the suited man, they gathered what they needed, paid, and left the shop. Alice finished the sale, taking her time and giving the man a chance to make his way over or decide what he was planning to do, before closing the register and turning to look at the man, a smile teasing at the corner of her lips. "And what are you looking for?" she asked, tipping her head again ever so slightly to look him over. Boy did he look good...

Alex smiled as he looked over at her after she asked her question.

"To be honest, nothing. I just enjoy looking and seeing what the witches of today use. Much of it is the same as the old days. Oh, and by the way, I think you misunderstood me last time. I'm not three hundred. At times I wish I was that young again. That was just the last time I saw a witch with power like yours. I'm actually closer to eight hundred."

He said as he shrugged and walked over to the counter she was leaning against. As he took a moment to look her over he realized something and smiled as he chuckled. His chuckle was light but a deep resounding bass.

"My apologies for being so rude. I was interrupted last time but my name is Alexander. Alexander Night. I go by Alex though. It's a pleasure to meet you Miss."

He said as he gave her a proper bow, like he had to the older witch then stood up and leveled his canary yellow eyes on her. As he looked at her he noticed that the store's closing time was within the next ten minutes.

"I'm not keeping you from being able to go home am I? I can leave if it's inconvenient for you."

Alice cracked a smile. Good, he was here to talk, it seemed. That made her feel just an ounce better about things, to know that the vampire wasn't there to actually pick something up. It faded when he began to mention age seemingly out of the blue. How exactly did he know that? Oh right... vampire. Duh. That was the only way he could be eight hundred, after all. The raven haired woman smiled again as the man made his way over towards the counter to join her. The way he moved began to show just how old he was; his respectful steps, his polite mannerisms... there was no doubt in her mind that he was old, but it was the aura of power that gave his species away from her. Not to mention the vivid colour of his eyes. That simply wasn't human and she was almost thankful for that fact. Humans could be so boring some times.

The smile only grew when the man offered his name and bowed in a very gentlemanly way. He couldn't be more polite. Or more attractive. "Alice Lanning," she introduced with a small nod of her head, watching as the vampire stood straight once again. He mentioned the closing of the store and the clerk gave a small shake of her head. "No, you're not yet," she teased with a smile. "Don't worry about keeping me from my home. I fed Jasper this morning, so he's good for a while." She leaned onto the counter again, a smile dancing over her lips. "I just need to have the doors locked by six." She gave a slight gesture towards the front door, eyeing it carefully as if expecting someone to walk inside. She glanced at the clock on the computer screen and hummed softly. She could close the door now... but if the owner caught her, there might be a problem. Especially if she was inside with a stranger and the door was locked.

"No reason for you to leave if you don't wish to. It's still customer time for a few more minutes, after all."

Nodding to her as she told him that there was no reason for him to leave he smiled a bit then tilted his head a bit as he studied her.

"You are very different from the witch's I've come across, which may just be because of this modern year and how young you are, but most witch's, as you saw already, only wish to kill a vampire on sight. Why are you so different?"

He asked as he looked at her. While he had to admit, she was a very attractive female, the scent coming off of her was one of pure power, most of it untapped since she was still so young, but she had a lot of potential to be a great witch. Yet here she was, showing interest beyond killing him. He was a bit surprised by it but it did touch his own curiosity in her. That and she would be a great help in him understanding this new age in time and how things worked, how the youth and people of today interacted, what was acceptable and what wasn't. Things along those lines simply because he always got stared at when he was walking. Not just for his looks but mainly his choice in wear. Apparently not many people indulged in wearing suits, which he found to be a bite odd since they did accent the body rather nicely, made you look more attractive and gave you a sense of higher ability then someone wearing a t-shirt and ragged jeans.

Still, he was a bit new to this and held onto a lot of his old ways. Hell if he could he'd walk around in some of the suits he had from the Victorian Era simply because they were very comfortable and he was quite fond of the common use of silks and velvet during those times.

Alice picked up a dust cloth and began to clean up the front of the shop while she had the chance. The man wouldn't mind if she worked while they talked, right? Oh she hoped he didn't. With a slight shrug of her shoulders, she began to wipe down the counter. "My mother always told me 'don't hurt what doesn't hurt you'," she told the customer. "And that I should be staying away from your kind, but what she doesn't know won't hurt her, right?" She smiled and glanced back up towards Alex, only to drop her eyes seconds later, letting her smile vanish slightly. "Flora is of the old ways; kill the vampires. My mother had a strange way of looking at things. Or different is the proper term, I guess. Her mother hated seeing anything get killed, including the dreaded blood suckers, so she was careful to teach my mother to just... ignore them. Back away, give them space and try not to get involved."

The shop keeper set the rag down beneath the counter and crossed around to the other side, looking at several of the stands that had been jumbled through the later part of the day. "I'm a bit more curious than many others my age, I'll admit that." She let her hands fall from several of the fabrics she had just adjusted, looking towards Alex with a hint of something in her eye. Curiosity mixed with... it was hard to tell. Hell, not even Alice knew what she was feeling right then. She was curious about him, that was for sure, but wary, as if she expected him to jump at her in a second. Confusion was close to the right word. And she certainly was confused about what was going on.

"The stories say that your type attacks first," she pointed out hesitantly. "Obviously not. Or am I not putting out the right vibes for you?"

Alex watched her move about the shop taking care of what she needed to yet still answer his questions. He simply stood off to the side and watched as well as listened to her. She was indeed curious, that much was painfully obvious but there were other feelings mixed into that as well. He caught the cautiousness of her and that much was common. Anyone regardless of race was cautious around something they were unfamiliar with. When she brought up the fact that vampires were usually the ones to attack first he gave her a confused look when she used to term 'vibe.'

"Well it is true that vampires have been known to attack first, but there is a specific trait to that, which needs to be added. Not all vampires attack first, it's usually the juveniles and the ones who have gone far too long without blood that attack first. Witch blood is more of a delicacy then a necessity. The power in your blood is very alluring to the young vampires as well as the starving vampires. The power to the young ones is to boost their ego's while the power in your blood for a starving vampire is to give him or her the strength they need. Now for someone like me who has been around for a good chunk of time, and having just fed, I am not affected nor do I really care to drink your blood. Even if it smells good, there's a little thing known as control. Vampires gain this over experience and age. As does any being."

He said as he smiled at her and his eyes flashed as he looked her up and down, his eyes moving slowly as if they were invisible hands, caressing her flesh from the top of her head to her feet, then back up.

"Now that isn't to say that I would love to open you eyes to the more pleasurable side of a vampire bite, however that is where the control factor comes in. That and I like to feed from willing beings. Makes it much more enjoyable for both parties."

The young witch didn't exactly know what to say, so instead she gave a hesitant laugh and pulled her hair around over one shoulder without even thinking about it. Playing with her hair was a good sign that she was nervous. Alice was careful to leave it along almost right after the quick movement, trying to ignore the chill she was getting in return with his swift scan of her body. "So you've fed on someone...?" That was almost a stupid question, forcing Alice to give herself a mental slap. Of course he had. "I mean, sorry, that was a bad question. Do over?" She gave a small laugh before tapping her forehead with the heel of her hand and shaking her head quickly.

"I mean, there's people in the city who are willing to do that sort of thing?" Of course there probably were. The vampire craze was still washing over the world and there were plenty of crazy goths wandering around the city, thanks to that. So many were almost doing it on purpose, hoping to stumble onto a vampire's nest or something. It was almost sad. But Alice wasn't one to judge. She had a phase when she was just entering high school when all she wanted to do was to find a Brownie. She hadn't and a part of her was still looking for one, but she had sense grown out of that. For the most part.

Dammit, this man was making her nervous beyond belief. Again, Alice mentally cursed herself. "Sorry. No, another bad question." She held up her hands in a defensive way, letting her eyes trail away from Alex this time. "A bit too personal of a question?" She dropped her gaze back to the man and gave another hesitant laugh. "I'm sorry, I'm being a child, aren't I. Just haven't had a lot of chances to speak to anything other than humans and witches. Certainly not vampires."

Alex chuckled at her questions as his amusement showed in his eyes. As she asked if there were humans that allowed him to feed from them he nodded.

"There are quite a few actually, plus too, I'm not limited to humans, I can also feed on vampires. The blood is stronger then humans and offers more sustenance. Many of the witches of old didn't like vampires feeding from them because feeding can be a very...personal thing. Vampires feeding from one another do it during sex while vampires with humans...it's either during or before it."

He said as he watched her get slightly nervous, almost borderline embarrassed. Which was odd to him, then again going off of his answer he obviously wasn't one for being shy or conservative. Then again, back in the old days, speaking ones mind was actually very normal. When she mentioned a personal question he raised a fine eyebrow and smirked.

"I don't mind. Also, you're not being childish, you're simply being curious on something you are unfamiliar with. A desire to learn is not childish."

He said as he smiled and motioned with his hand that she could ask away.

With that gesture of 'ask as you please', Alice's entire mind began to empty from her mouth in a rapid barrage of questions for the man. She even dared to take a few steps closer to him. Her fingers ran through the tips of her hair, eyes lighting up with curiosity and joy that she finally was getting a chance to ask the questions that had been built up inside of her for as long as she could remember. This was going to be a very important time and she had to tread carefully. But Alex had given her permission...

"How old are you really? What does it feel like to feed on another person? Do you ever have a problem with social morals when it comes to feeding? Does blood taste as tinny as it does to me? Have you ever fed on a witch? Do you prefer human or vampire blood? Have you ever gone on a frenzy? What do you think of the modern day vampires? If I threw glitter on you, what would you do? Sunlight. What does it do? Chopping off your head kills you, right? What about burning alive? How many rumours are really true about your kind? Was there really someone named Dracula? Was Vlad the Impaler really a vampire? Van Helsing, fact or fake? Have you ever been married? Ever had a relationship with a non-vampire? Can you turn into a bat or is that just bullshit?"

Dear god, that was a lot of questions. Many more than what she thought there would be and she could feel that there would be more later. If they continued to speak, that is. She knew he could find some amusement in her questioning, as it was coming through in his eyes, but she didn't exactly want to make herself like a fool. She was just excited to finally get a chance to talk to someone that was new to her. And taking a walk on the wild side didn't exactly hurt her curiosity. Luckily Alex seemed to be willing to help her learn. She wasn't going to let this chance leave without taking the opportunity to absorb as much as she could from him.

Alex just stared at her as he laughed a bit and rubbed his forehead a bit as he tried remembering all the questions in order.

"Well, I'm eight hundred thirty-two. When I feed from someone, I feel a slight rush and upon catching the scent of their arousal it just increases the rush. What exactly do you mean by social morals? Blood to me, tastes like a fine wine. I have fed on a witch, but it's not a memory I really like reliving. I prefer vampires over humans because the blood is stronger. No, I've never gone into a frenzy, been close but never had the displeasure of it. In regards to the vampires of today...it's embarrassing to be a vampire really."

When she asked how he'd feel if she threw glitter on him he just raised an eyebrow and shook his head and sighed.

"Not happening. Sunlight just makes me tired, physically exhausted if I spend too long. Taking my head off...yes it will kill me."

He said as he gave her a sly look and got toe to toe with her as he leaned in and took in a deep breath through his nose as he moved along her neck and whispered.

"If you can get that close to me."

Backing up he smirked and leaned against the counter once more ans he thought over her other questions.

"Burning alive would just be very uncomfortable. What rumors are you referring to? No, there really wasn't anyone named Dracula. His name was Drake. The impaler...unfortunately. Van Helsing? No."

When she asked if he'd ever been married he shut down and licked his lips a bit before moving onto the next question.

"No, I can't turn into a bat."

He said as he ignored two of her questions because he didn't want to go over those two questions.

Wow, he answered them... And all of them. His memory was amazing, that was for sure. The woman smiled as she listened, fading and growing with several of the answers. She wasn't really planning on throwing glitter on him, but she had always wanted to ask a vampire what they thought of that whole mess in Hollywood. He was old for sure, but hearing his thoughts on blood was uh interesting. She guessed it would have been something like that, something that would draw them back to taste more. Not something she wanted to try, but she knew she had the same feeling when it came to knowledge. Maybe not the same taste, but the save craving. So she could relate even in the slightest of ways.

Feeding on a witch... it was an interesting response, but she wasn't about to press it if he wanted to let it go. And with an answer like that, he just assumed that was what he wanted. Good, he's never been in a blood raging mood. But that also meant he might still have the chance of getting into that mood. Well Alice didn't want to think about that just yet. The rest of them seemed to be reasonable enough, answered quite straight forward with only a few questions that she tucked into her own memory to answer later on.

But as soon as the man came up to her, meeting her and even getting closer than simply inside of her personal bubble. Her eyes widened then fluttered closed, holding as still as she possibly could until he backed away. She held back a blush as quickly as she could, using a bit of magic to calm her body down and cool herself off just in time for Alex to pull back, only a rosy touch to her cheeks for him to look at when he looked her over again. And then he turned back to the rest of the questions.

Alice took note of the questions he didn't answer, but she didn't dare push it. The last thing she wanted was to have the man run away this early in their meeting. It was a bit more personal than just asking about his race. And when it ended, Alice smiled with a laugh. "Aw, well that's sad," she told him jokingly. "I've been looking for a new familiar." She looked at him, eyes sparkling as she smiled, planning to return to his questions. "Social morals, I mean the whole idea of people criticizing you for drinking blood. Obviously you don't mind, since you're still alive, but have you ever had to fight someone by saying that it's wrong and not allowing you to? And rumours..." Her eyes scanned over him slowly before her smile faded ever so slightly. "That you're all bodice ripping, sex crazed... animals." She held up her hands. "Pardon the term."

Alex cocked an eyebrow as she asked about other peoples feelings when it came to him feeding. That was indeed an odd question.

"Well, I wouldn't really know. I've never had anyone question it before. I feed to survive. If someone doesn't like it, it's not my problem. Now I have had witches and human hunters come after me because of my feeding but it was more along the lines of they came after me because of what I was. Drinking human blood just added to their dislike of me."

He said as he rolled his head on his shoulders and a few pops were heard as he cracked his neck. Hearing her question about the rumors a bit more in depth the smile that touched his lips was slow and seductive, his eyes slid up to hers as he chuckled a bit then shook his head.

"Well in that regard, it's all about the feeling and how aroused both parties are. However it has happened and it tends to be a lot more enjoyable."

He said as he looked at her for a long moment then sighed as he looked at his watch.

"Well, it's getting late my dear. I would love to chat more, but I'm rather tired of just standing around and I'm sure you would like to be home some time tonight."

He said as he gave her a bow once more and started for the door. He wasn't going to just up and port out, if she wanted to talk and walk that was fine, he just didn't like standing in one place for too long.

She had a feeling that the sexual rumours were true, but now that she knew for sure, she gave a small, slow nod. The look he was giving her, or more like giving in general, was doing exactly what he wanted it to. It was stunning her, despite every warning to get away from a vampire as quickly as she could. She wasn't surprised that he didn't much care, or didn't bother to check, about his drinking of blood. It was, after all, how he survived. Why would he think it was a bad thing? And the rumours... yeah, she wasn't going to touch that.

Or maybe she would...

Luckily, Alex looked at his watch, giving Alice a time to regain her composure in time for his comment. "Oh! I'm sorry about that." She backed away slightly, glancing around the shop quickly. She looked back to him before he reached the door. "If you wouldn't mind giving me another minute, I could show you around the city a bit. There's plenty of places that are hidden... If you'd like a bit of a tour."

Alex looked at her for a moment and waited for her. When she finished up around the shop and walked over to him he chuckled a bit and cocked an eyebrow.

"You sure you wanna be in a 'hidden' area with me?"

He asked in a joking tone before he opened the door and held it for her, again showing how his more gentleman side was usually first to show itself. When she locked up he walked with her, following her around as she took him to different areas and showed him around. When he saw a night club called 'Immortals' he tilted his head to the side and sensed a lot of vampires in the club, a few witches and one or two Succubus's. Well he'd certainly make it a point to visit this place later on in the week.

"So. What do you do when you aren't in the shop?"

He asked as he was simply trying to make conversation and not go over something that hadn't been covered in her string of questions that she'd put him through not too long ago.

"I'll take that risk," she told him with a laugh.

After a small bit of cleaning and a quick lock of the door, the witch joined Alex out on the sidewalk, tugging her loose fitting black sweater over her arms, letting it hang open in her front. With her nearly knee high boots, skinny jeans and fashionable forest green shirt, the woman looked set for a night on the town. If it wasn't for the fact that she was walking with a suit wearing vampire, no one would question her. Lucky for the pair, there wasn't a sign of a witch around on the streets. Wannabes, yes, and several girls who seemed ready to drool over Alex at any second, but no trouble. Thank god. Alice had a short list of places to show him; the library, the florist, the high school, which she suggested he avoid, city hall a few important lay lines, a local coffee shop known for their lattes and pastries. All important landmarks in the city.

When the tour wound down, they were standing across the street from the high class bar at a coffee shop. Not the one Alice had pointed out, but a cheaper one with more of a meal sort of menu. She had picked up a quick wrap, jokingly making a big deal over her need to eat, and was waiting outside with him, leaning again a low brick wall while she ate. Her chocolate gaze turned towards the vampire at his question and smiled.

"I go to school," she told him simply. "Sad, I know. General stuff, just because my father wants me to try to get some sort of diploma before I'm thirty. I do what I need to there." She took another bite and made quick work of chewing it to return to the conversation. "My real passion right now though is translating some old texts I found in my Grandmother's attic." She looked him over for a brief reaction before continuing. "Old Latin stuff. Like really old. So it's taking me a while. But worth every second."

Alex watched her as she ate her wrap and leaned against the same wall as he looked up at the stars, just enjoying the night sky and soft breeze. When she mentioned going to school he nodded since education seemed to be something that was of growing importance now a days. However as she told him her real passion he smirked.

"Old Latin huh? So what would you say if I spoke it fluently simply because its a language that the old vampires like myself used to speak when we were discussing things that we didn't want the humans knowing about."

He said as he chuckled since she said it was taking her a while when he could probably read through all of the notes in under a few hours. The biggest problem there was that witches didn't like the idea of vampires knowing their spells or what was in them because they would then know how to counter them which would in turn endanger the witch. Granted Alex had no need to learn any magic simply because he was stronger then any witch in this city, however it was never a bad thing to know a bit more than anyone who could possibly be a threat to you. Strength mattered little in a battle of wits.

As they stood against the wall Alex saw a group of vampire males and two vampire females come out of the club. He had his shields up so nothing was really showing him as a vampire and the vampires he saw were WAY too drunk to really focus. As they walked over and saw Alice leaned against the wall the males acted like Alex wasn't there and simply started flirting with her. The two vampire females just stared at Alex like he was a God, despite the fact that he was ignoring them. He just glanced over at Alice and smirked as he watched to see what she did. One of the males actually leaned right in between Alex and Alice as he looked at her and stroked her cheek with his finger.

The males were really trying way too hard and he found it rather amusing but he was also simply waiting to see how she handled herself. Three on one were never good odds, but when those three were pretty well drunk the odds were tipped to the sober one's favor. Depending.

Alice smiled. Someone who knew old Latin and was offering to help? That would be great, except that the spells and information she was translating was a bit too sensitive for anyone non-witch to see. "You'd be a god send," she joked, taking another bite. "But then I wouldn't be doing it all myself, now would I?" Her eyes trailed around the street for a moment as she thought. "This is a project I'd like to complete with minimal help to be completely honest. That whole proving things to yourself nonsense. Thank you though." Her gaze turned back to Alex as she finished the wrap, crumpling the paper up in her hand before extending her fingers and watching the wrapper go up in flames, smothering against her skin with no damage done to her. Just a little trick she knew...

The sound of the club doors opening caught the witch's attention, drawing her eyes across the street. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked over what the women were wearing, almost envious of how they were spending their time. Going to clubs wasn't something Alice had a chance to do despite being in the city for over a year. Most of her friends from the classes she did take in a class room enjoyed going to the big cities instead, leaving her on her own when it came to going to clubs. Mostly because she didn't feel like battling with the crowds at the bigger clubs. And on top of that, the witches in the town had told her to stay away from Immortals as much as she could. Of course, that only meant she wanted to go into it that much more.

Her thoughts halted when the drunks came across the street to join the pair, deciding it was a great idea to flirt with Alice. A smile tugged at her lips when it all began, watching them with narrowed, almost seductive eyes, giving them small, gentle teases with her fingers, running them under their chins, along their cheeks, gently down their necks... And when the one male dared to slide between the touring pair, Alice watched him, her smile only growing. And with the change of her smile and a slight lift of her finger came a slither of vines from the small patch of garden behind the wall. One of the tendrils wrapped around the man's free wrist, tugging him over and into the garden, sending his drunk ass after his hand.

Alice backed away, keeping close tabs on the other vampires. "Oh, watch yourself," she warned, faking care and an apology. "You're quite drunk. I think you should head home. With one of your lovely lady friends."

Alex saw the vines coming down and as the first vampire was dragged away he smirked and just shook his head. One of the drunken vampires gripped the collar of his suit and hissed at him baring fangs.

"What's so funny? How about I wipe that smile off of your face?"

Alex just looked at the male and smirked a bit as his eyes began to glow like a pair of street lights and the shields containing his energy dropped. The following flood of his power actually cleared any loose gravel and dirt from where he stood and the vampires shot away from him in fear as everyone visibly paled, which was impressive for a vampire. The energy coming off of Alex was raw and unchained, more then what he'd displayed when the witch had thrown a fire ball at him. This was his full power, all eight hundred years of it and as it came off of him, several immortals from the club came out to see him standing there.

The females bowed to him and stayed that way as the one smart male who didn't say anything also bowed. The immortals who had come out of the club, the vampires of the group all bowed and the others just gave a slow nod before moving back into the club. Alex looked at the one who'd been so rude to him and walked over as he put his hand on his shoulder.

"Next time, don't open your mouth in a rude manner unless you know whom you are speaking to. Now, be a good lad an apologize to the lady and be on your way."

He said as he gave a bone bending squeeze to the male's shoulder and he whimpered as he and his friend apologized over and over again. When Alex released him the two males ported off as did one of the females. One with blond hair and gun metal grey eyes stayed behind and moved her hair over her right shoulder.

"Master. Do you need to feed?"
"When you are sober, yes. Thank you. I believe you all know where I live now?"
"Yes Master."
"When you are sober, come there."

The vampire nodded, gave a questioning look to Alice then ported off. Alex then looked back to Alex as his shields came back up and his eyes returned to normal.

"I apologize for that, as I said, the newer aged vampires are very embarrassing."

When the vampire's shields fell, Alice tensed. She turned her head towards the man, eyes slightly wider than normal but just as alert as ever. The power coming from him was what could only be described as pure. It was something that she expected from the man, but didn't think it was that powerful. She almost wanted to thank him for keeping up a buffer between himself and the rest of the world every other time of the day. If she had to deal with being around that much power all the time, she would loose her mind for sure. It was clear just how powerful he was by the way the younger vampires looked at him, shocked and awed at just the feeling he was giving them. Alice was, in short, impressed.

Alice gave a short nod in return to his apology and watched as the group of them ported away, only to let her eyes fall on the final woman. The look was a little off setting, but she raised her eyebrows in return waiting for her to port off as well. And once she did, she dropped her surprised look and looked towards the man beside her. "It's not your fault," she told him, glancing at the space where they were once standing before letting her eyes drift to the club across the street. "There's almost always drunks when you walk along this street at night." She glanced back over Alex, watching him carefully.

"That's some intense power you have," she pointed out, her voice dropping. "Very intense." Damn her attraction to power. Her first boyfriend was a coven leader who was pumping power almost nonstop. But she was only fifteen at that time. She didn't have the power she had now. He was a wimp compared to her level now and the last time she saw him, she made sure to let him know that. Cocky bastard deserved it. But now she was after bigger fish. Witches preferably, as they seemed to have the most, but she had met a new creature that she was having a chance to speak to and really get to know. And that sign was a good look into just how much talent he had. Alice would be stupid to make him an enemy now.

"Is it always that easy to get someone to feed on?"
