Firewalk with Me (Madam Mim x EvelynWillows)

Althea closed her eyes, tears sliding down her pale cheeks as her brother held her. She felt his arousal against her body and began to tremble, afraid he might try something then and there, out in the open where everyone could see. As he whispered against her ear she shivered, choking back her disgust. The longer he held her the harder it was to keep from breaking down into sobs. The helpless princess held back her tears and as she did so her fair skin in the winter afternoon only grew more alluring to her brother. Her cheeks flushed with unshed tears, her lips reddened and plumped as she bit them to hold back the tears unsuccessfully. Her nose began to get stuffy, so her breath plumed between them as she took slow breaths through her mouth.

"Yes, Edward," she murmured quietly, nodding as he spelled out his conditions. His hands began to travel possessively over her body, even up to her breasts, and she winced. "Please Edward, not out here!" she whispered desperately, finally looking up at him. The tears in her eyes and flush in her cheeks only made her blue-green eyes that much more striking. "Someone might see!"

Edward brought his lips to her ear and nuzzled the soft curve of them. He could feel the way her body trembled in his grip, the way her breaths puffed against his skin in short, hard bursts, and his manhood completely unfurled and rested like a rod against her abdomen. "You're right... not out here where people can see... not yet. But one day, Althea, you'll be mine completely and I'll take you whenever and wherever I want you. The servants will have to deal with the sight of their king fucking his lovely queen on the veranda or in the garden. I'll bend you over a table and shove your dress over your hips, rip off your garments underneath and slide myself into your sweet, plumped canal and release my seed deep inside of you, and they won't be able to do anything about it."

He smiled as he drew back slowly, his hand rubbing across her breasts and rolling her nipple underneath her dress. "The Corner Tavern, darling. Be there tonight, or I'll start sending you the hands of your friends to you in pretty little boxes. You don't want that, do you?" He moved his face in front of hers and caught her mouth in a possessive, deep kiss. Servants be damned! He wanted her now and would take at least a kiss to tie him over until he could touch her completely tonight.

Apollo sniffed around the door to the castle where his mistress had shut it and whimpered softly. She was on the other side with that bad man! The one who kicked him! That man was mean! He didn't pet Apollo's head or scratch his ears... not like that other man.

The thoughts of Althea's other mate made Apollo cock his head to the side. He trotted through the gardens to the greenhouse and nosed around the doors. Yes, the other mate was in there. Apollo could hear his voice and smell the leather of his clothes. He was with another male... someone who the dog didn't recognize. Apollo scratched at the door several times and then barked.

A moment later the other mate opened the door. His eyes smiled down at the dog. "Hey boy! Where's your mistress?" Jacques looked up and scanned the garden. He frowned slightly when he didn't see Althea. It was unusual for Apollo to be out on his own. "Come one in, then," he said, opening the door wider. "Let's see what we have for you."

He turned to the other man in the greenhouse. This one was wrapped in a blanket. His eyes were red and worn from an emotional wreck he had just been through, but he seemed better now. "Who's this, Captain?"

Jacques smiled. "No, not Captain any longer, Cedric. Just Alec." He found a dried piece of jerky for Apollo and then pulled his own cloak off a hook. "Would you tend the fire while I see about something?" He reached down and scratched Apollo's ear, tugging at one affectionately. "I need to see about getting this boy and his owner reunited."

Althea nodded at Edward's instructions, crying harder at the thought that there would come a day he could take her anywhere and any time he wanted without anyone doing anything about it. Her fists clenched at her sides before she wrapped her arms around herself. The feel of his stiff manhood against her stomach made her ill. When he kissed her she squeaked against his lips.

There was nothing for her to do but wish for him to release her. Finally he let her go and she pulled away, taking a few steps back and turning away from him. Tears coursed down her cheeks and she just wanted to get outside and away from her brother.

"Now go, Edward," she said quietly. "Go before anyone sees." Althea all but ran out the door and into the snow. She trudged through the cold and the wet, soaking her boots as she ran over to the garden to be alone.

Once there she found a seat. The stone benches were covered in snow, but she pushed it off and sat among the frosted and frozen flowers. Curling up with her feet on the bench and her back against the snowy bushes, she felt safe enough now to sob. Sniffing thickly, she covered her face with her gloved hands. She didn't feel like anyone could help her anymore; not the king, not even Jacques.

Apollo was excited about getting back to Althea and he led the charge, heading straight for the door he had been booted out of. As they neared the door, however, Jacques noticed a fresh set of dainty prints leading off to the side. The steps were wider apart, as if someone had been running, and their careless placement made him think that the maker of the prints didn't care so much where she was going as she did that she was leaving the castle.

Once Jacques noticed the prints, Apollo went over and stuck his nose deep into one of the holes.

My human.
He looked up and his ears perked forward. My human! She went that way! He bounded across the snow, his tail held high and his tongue tucked into his mouth as his nose sniffed at the breeze to find his way to her. Jacques followed close behind, and soon they came upon the little rotunda where he spied her. Althea was curled up on a bench, sobbing into her gloved hands.

Apollo bounded up to her and nearly leaped into her lap with a happy bark. The gardener came up a few strides later. His face was concerned. He glanced around to see if they had any witnesses as he unfastened his cloak and then went to wrap the already-warmed garment around Althea's shoulders.

"Princess... Althea. What is it? Why are you crying?" He brushed off the snow next to her and sat down as he peered into her tear-covered eyes.

Althea was startled at Apollo's bark and looked up with a gasp. He put his wet paws in her lap in an attempt to lick her face, which he normally wasn't allowed to do but at this moment didn't care. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his fur.

"Oh Apollo," she murmured quietly, not noticing Jacques in her distress. "If only you were able to talk, to tell someone." She turned her nose out of his fur to sniff, and flinched a little as a cloak was wrapped around her. She looked up to see her love, her hero, as he sat down next to her.

"It's...it's my brother," she said after taking a few minutes to compose herself. "He's come back and he...he wants to spend time with me. He's reserved a room for us to...talk." Jacques knew what Edward had been doing to her. She hoped he realized what she was trying to tell him. "He said if I don't come, that he'll...well..." She teared up again and hugged Apollo's neck a little more tightly as if afraid Edward would come out of the bushes and kill him. "He wants to make it legal, Jacques..." Her voice was barely audible in the German Shepherd's fur, but still it was there.

"What?!" That came out louder than he intended. Jacques lowered his voice. "What? He wants to make what legal?"

Apollo whined and wagged his tail slowly.

Jacques knelt down next to Althea. "I'll kill him. I'll go there tonight and kill him, and you'll never have to fear that bastard again. Tell me where he is and when you are to meet him. I'll go in and make sure that this ends once and for all." He ached with love for her and wanted, beyond anything else, to simply steal her away from this place. But the king had ordered him to stay calm and had asked him to trust him, so he was doing the best he could.

He had already arranged for Cedric to leave in the morning with money and supplies, and to return to his home. If his wife consented, then the family would move here so that he could be closer to both sets of children. Owen had promised him a job with him in the gardens to support them all, and hopefully he'd be able to be a father to all of his children, despite the sad circumstances that created the situation.

Althea flinched at Jacques's loud tone. She looked up from Apollo, almost as if she were afraid Jacques would yell at her for what her brother planned on doing to her. She sniffed and scratched the dog's ears as he whined, then shook her head when Jacques offered to kill him.

"Darling, you know I would love nothing better in the world," she said, looking at him sadly, "but you can't. Not only is it political suicide for the both of us, not only would my father consider it a declaration of war regardless of who we are, but you would be revealed. People would know you're alive. The King...he has a plan. And we can't risk you being discovered before it all comes to fruition. I...I don't know what it is he has planned, exactly, but he does have one. It'll all work out just please love...please have patience."

"Does this plan include you being molested by your brother?" He shook his head. "How can you ask me to stand by while this happens? I cannot, Althea. I love you. At least tell the king what has been happening? He can put a stop to it."

"Please, Althie." Jacques looked at her and nearly broke with desire. "You know I will deny you nothing. Please...don't go to him tonight."

"Then again, our countries would be plunged into war," Althea pointed out with despair in her voice. "My father would never believe his fair-haired child could do such a thing, especially to his own sister. How do you think he's gotten away with doing it to other girls all these years?" She bowed her head again, biting back tears as Apollo laid his head in her lap for comfort.

"If you'll deny me nothing, then save my memories for me," she murmured quietly. "I don't want to go...I hate him, and he makes me hate myself. He makes me want to tear my hair out and cut up my face so he'd never look on me again. But there's no other way. I just...help me not remember? Can you do that?" She looked up, still watery-eyed, forgetting that Jacques had done just that to protect her assumption of virtue.

"Can you take my memories for me? So that way...that way I don't have to remember, and should Edward ever try to mess with my memories you still have them." She took his hand and looked around furtively before kissing his fingers, warming them with her breath. "Please, my love. There's no other way for me to escape this...but we can trap him in his own evil."
