"NO... no no... you don't need to... We were just..." Sam was stumbling over her words, looking from Ben to Sandy and back again. She couldn't seem to get her brain to work with the speed that she was familiar with and she was sure it wasn't just the dope or the drink... she hadn't had that much of either. But this was just all so wrong; everything seemed out of place and she was struggling to put them into place. "... we were just having a bit of... of a celebration I guess... what are you doing here?... The last time I saw... How did you...?"
Sam looked at Sandy again and saw the expectant stare, the raised eyebrows, the question in her expression. And then it was as if the question Sandy was silently asking suddenly occurred to her.
"Sorry...erm... Ben this is... this is Lieutenant Sandy Murdoch. She is probably going to be the next head nurse around here. Sandy this is Dr. Ben Price. He is... was... Chief of Emergency Medicine at John Hopkins... pretty much everything I need to do around here is.... erm... it's because of what this man taught me.... I can't believe your here... I mean... I knew you'd left the hospital to join the Army... to come over here but... I never expected to... Do you...erm... do you want a drink or anything..."
