"I would" . He held her and kissed her neck gently, making it obvious that the dishes were that last thing on his mind. However he didn't push her for more or take it further. When the dishes were done, he took her hand and they started off on their walk toward town.
 
As they walked she looked around and rosalee was truly shocked by what she saw, men and woman everywhere, the men seemed friendly and kind, and made no attempt to hurt or bully there mates there seemed to be real love here she was shocked and did not know how to react, but it was very clear she was confused.
 
Rosalee was so wrapped up watching everyone she hadn't even noticed they made it for ice cream she looked over the menus and the bit her lip quietly asking Lucca " may I have black raspberry please."
 
"Absolutely! he said smiling and ordered her a black raspberry and butter pecan for himself. As they say at a picnic table eating their ice cream, he smiled at her. "This has been such a nice day."
 
Rosalee had a little smile on her lips as she ate her ice cream, for her it was something she did not often have but loved. She looked Lucca and nodded a bit "yes it has"
 
When they had finished their ice cream, Lucca took her hand and they continued their stroll. they walked through the town and out the other side and then down to to the edge of a wooded area where a small river flowed. "I used to play here when I was little with my brother and my dad" he said. "I was the king of finding serpants and dragons."
 
Rosalee walked with him and then looked around the spot he showed her. She bit her lip. "That must have been nice growing up like that."
 
When I have children, I want it to be like that for them also. I want them to have the same kind of fond memories. For that they need a Mom and a Dad who are both a part of their lives.
 
Rosalee smiled a bit but then looked so confused. "I don't understand how you and from I can see the other people here can be so different then what I know of life, it makes no sense"
 
It makes sense if you realize that our priorities are different. It starts with the idea that everyone in the clan is important, needs love, and is capable of loving. Life isn't a competition, and we don't measure worth in terms of reproductive prowess. Really these are the things the old ways are based on. Your old clan follows the traditions, but has long ago forgotten why they were created.
 
Rosalee shook her head and moved away from him turning her back to him "I know nothing about love. I certainly do not know how to love nor am I worthy enough to be loved"
 
That's where you are wrong, everyone is worthy of love! When you start to feel love and accept it, loving other will just come naturally. Be patient. You will see.
 
Rosalee shrugged her shoulders however the doubt she felt inside seemed to pour hazel eye she slowly turned to look at him again
 
"What will you do when people love you then? Love isn't something you earn or even deserve. Its a gift. Hopefully you will come to accept it. In the meantime, what do you see as our relationship?"
 
Rosalee looked at lucca once again puzzled " what do mean your my mate I will work hard to make sure your home is clean, you always have a hot meal on the table bare as many children as you request of me"
 
"Well it what is expected of me I was taught that my mate happiness will be my happiness so as was explained to my role in life is to make you happy,"
 
Well then if you want to make me happy, you need to learn to love because only then will my children have a loving home like I had growing up. That will make me happy.
 
Of course I will. I want you to learn to love, and to accept love. It starts with something you already know. Doing things to make others happy. But not just me, and not because you have to, but because you want to. Here is what I want you to do. Pick someone you have met, recently, and do something nice for them. Something you don't have to do, and something they don't expect. Then come and tell me how it went and how you felt.
 
There was certainly fear in her eyes now. Fear of people, and more importantly fear of failing. "Um alright" she had no idea what to do or who even to do it for but since he requested she would for him
 
He saw the fear in her eyes and consoled her. "Don't be afraid.. its easy, come on, I'll show you" they walked slowly down the main street. They passed the grocery store, and there was an older couple coming out, their arms were full of groceries and they were having trouble getting to the car. Lucca motioned to her as if to say "come on, follow me" As they walked up Lucca asked the older man if they could help. He took all the groceries but one bag in his arms and then looked at Rosalee hoping she would take the last one from the woman. He walked them to their car and helped them load the groceries. The older couple smiled and thanked them profusely. Lucca just smiled back at them.
 
Rosalee looked puzzled but then followed him she say the older couple and did as lucca did taking the bags from the woman. Once they had left she looked at lucca "I don't understand I mean it was nice and all to help them but I didn't feel any love from it just something nice for someone just a services to make them happy which I already know about"
 
"It didn't make you feel good? Their smiles didn't make you happy?" Lucca was puzzled at her response. He knew for sure that he didn't want his children raised that way. Though he said nothing about it to her.
