Love is blind. (cheerio/Dare)

The three had been asleep for a long time before Alti stirred, soon drifting back to sleep under the covers, Felicity not moving much through the night, clearly far more relaxed with company. All too soon both women were awake, Alti sleeping again as Felicity watched before heading down stairs, getting herself a drink before drifting back to bed.

Henry slept through the night for the first time in ages, awakening with the coming dawn. An old tale said that vampires couldn't be up and about during the day but that wasn't the case. They were able to brave the light, though they were more sensitive to it; it's what allowed them to blend in to the world with ease. Seeing that the women were still asleep, he left the bed and wandered downstairs, prepared to explore Felicity's home so he wouldn't disturb them. He moved from room to room with ease, familiarizing himself with it. It was a homely place and he liked it.

As Henry moved around the house both women slept in for a while longer. It was Felicity who woke first, soon stretching and moving to get up, dressing again, glad of the company she had had that night. All too soon she was aware that Henry was somewhere else. She could sense the lack of him.

Alti woke next, all but falling off the bed with an unladylike yelp.

Henry heard the thump from upstairs and smiled, knowing someone had fallen. He heard footsteps also, his unnatural hearing picking them up quite easily, and from the tentative sounds of them, knew that Felicity must be up also. He hoped she hadn’t been the one to fall out of bed as that would have made him feel rather badly. Moving quietly back through the house, he headed back upstairs to check on them, popping into the bedroom to see Alti sprawled on the floor and Felicity up and about. “Good morning ladies” he said, a bemused smile on his face.

"Morning Henry." Felicty had smiled, looking over at him despite her lack of sight, knowing fully well that Alti's groan was loud enough to make her smile. She had smirked then spoken softly. "Seems Alti's fallen on her ass." A beat. "As always."

(OOC: Bleh, sorry)

Henry moved swiftly to Alti's side and reached down, offering her a hand. She looked up at him, eyes narrowing for a second but seeing that he wasn't laughing at her, she accepted and was pulled to her feet. "Damn, I hate when that happens" she muttered softly. Henry just smiled and turned back towards Felicity. "Would you like me to fix you some breakfast Felicity?" he asked. He would have to eat soon himself but the food she had in her kitchen would not suffice for one of his kind.

Felicity smiled and shook her head. "I'll be fine getting my own... take Alti with you though won't you?" Her question was soft as she nudged Alti closer to Henry, moving away to go and fetch her food. She would wait where she was for them to go out and come back before she did anything else. Although she knew she had to find a job.

He cocked his head at Felicity before turning to Alti. “I’m fine with that if you are” he murmured. She would need to hunt also, so why not hunt together instead of alone. Clearly Felicity was trying to get them to become more comfortable with each other and, truth be told, he could use another friend. Alti looked at him, then glanced over at Felicity. “You’ll be ok on your own?” At Felicity’s nod, Alti smiled. “Then let’s go get some breakfast” she murmured to Henry. With the speed that only their kind possessed, she was past him and down the stairs, standing by the door waiting for him. “Coming?” she called, a laugh in her voice.

Felicity laughed softly. "Go on."

Once they had left she headed out and down the stairs to get her food. She had cooked quickly and moved to the table to settle and eat. Once she had done she went to tidy and wash up, returning back to her room before going back down the stairs to try to work on her clothes.

Henry met Alti at the door, his ears listening for Felicity to make sure she’d be ok. Satisfied that she would be able to get along ok without him, he opened the door and slipped outside, Alti following. “Where do you want to hunt?” he asked. “West side” was her answer so that’s the way they headed. Slipping through the streets like a whisper on the wind, the moved silently and unseen. As they entered West Side, they slowed and began to traverse the streets, looking for likely marks. A sound could be heard coming from an alleyway, the frightened voice of humans and the rougher voice of something else, not quite human. Henry stopped and cocked his head, motioning to the alley. Alti nodded and the two slipped inside, moving fast.

As the vampires were hunting Felicity settled to work. She had been a little surprised when her phone rang and answered it cautiously. "Hello??" She had answered every question softly, then hung up. A weekly check in from her married sister. Somehow that didn't surprise her too much. Francie was her good sister, the kind one. Despite being disowned she didn't care.

Henry took the lead, sliding through the alleyway, keeping to the walls. Alti followed, just as silent and swift. The voices grew louder the deeper into the alley they went and soon the people came into view. There were three people in the back of the alley, two of whom were definitely human. The third, well, it wasn’t human but it also wasn’t immortal, not fully, not yet. The man facing the two humans set Henry’s radar on full alert because he was, of all things, a newly turned vamp. And he smelled of the men that had attacked Felicity. A growl ripped from his throat before he even realized what he’d done but before he could move, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Glancing to his left, he saw Alti looking at him, then at the new turned vamp. He knew that look. Knew it well. She had taken an interest in the newest of their kind.

Felicity had continued to tidy the house, wanting to feel safe in the home and knowing she was risking a hard fall if she wasn't cautious. She also couldn't wait to see her friend and her bodyguard back. She cared greatly for both of them. She still loved the man, even knowing there was no way she could ever ask him to marry her. All the same she hoped they were both alright.

With a look that told him to back off, Alti slid forward into the alley, approaching the newly made vampire from behind. She slid around to the side, coming into his view, so she stood near both him and the two humans. Henry slipped to the other side at the same time. The newly made vampire looked at both of them, his fangs bared in anger, craziness spread across his face. Before he could move, Alti was on him, delivering a hard blow to his kidney, dropping him to the ground. She then hit him in the jaw, knocking him out. The new vampire slumped to the ground, the attack so sudden and swift that he never saw it coming.

The two humans cowered for a moment, relief on their face. “Thank god you came when you did” one murmured. Alti turned to him and grinned. “We didn’t do it to save you” she whispered, right before she pounced. She grabbed the mortal hard and bent his neck, exposing his pulse to her. Dipping down, she pierced his skin and began to drink. Henry moved at the same time, capturing the second and also taking what he wanted. Neither vampire killed their prey, simply taking what they wanted and then wiping their minds of the memory before setting the down in the alley. Their wounds would heal, a power of their saliva, and they would wake with the simple thought that they’d passed out from alcohol.

Done, Alti turned to the fallen vamp and picked him up, slinging him over her shoulder. “Race you to Felicity’s “ she said before sprinting out of the alley in a blur. Henry grinned and followed.
