Love is blind. (cheerio/Dare)

Henry knew the lie for what it was but didn’t press it. He could tell it upset her and that was the last thing he wanted to do. He reached up and wiped her tears from her cheeks, his thumbs slowly caressing her skin. “It’s ok” he murmured, bending down to kiss her cheek. “You don’t need to tell me.” He looked around the hallway, seeing a room off to the side, and took her hand, leading her to it. It was her living room so he led her to the couch and sat down, pulling her down next to him. “Are you hungry or thirsty?” he asked.

She had shook her head silently before nestling closer to him, sighing as she let her head rest on his shoulder, clearly tired but also... timid in some way. Nervous even in her own home. She wasn't normally.

Henry slipped an arm around her waist, holding her gently as she laid her head on his shoulders. He could tell she was exhausted, could see it in her labored breathing and her pale skin, her half lidded eyes, and her relaxing body. She felt nice tucked up against him like that, like she belonged there, and that was a truly odd feeling for Henry. In all of his centuries, he’d never really felt drawn to any particular woman. Sure, he’d had lovers over the years but none that drew him the way Felicity did. It felt….odd…but nice. Very nice. Dipping his head down, he nuzzled her neck for a second and then kissed her cheek. “I think we should get you to bed Felicity” he murmured, his mouth very close to hers again.

She had smiled a little languidly before nodding. Her exhaustion had kept her from saying much but his gentle nuzzle and tender words had made the next words easy to speak, her shyness coming to the fore again. "Henry... I need you to stay with me, I need to feel you in the bed, even if all we do is simply sleep, I need to know I'm safe." She spoke the words almost as a request, sweetly.

(OOC: still not fab but not as pants as before...)

He smiled at her words and slowly stood, pulling her up with him. She was so tired she was almost swaying on her feet so what he did next was only natural, especially for a creature of his strength. Bending down, he slipped an arm under her legs and one around her lower back and hoisted her up, carrying her. He wasn’t sure where her bedroom was so he wandered down the hallway, glancing into each room as he came to it. Finally, he found the one that looked like her bedroom and slipped inside. “I will stay with you Felicity, in your bed, lying against you.” He reached the bed and set her on her feet. “Do you need help undressing?” he asked, a little nervous. Her comment about sleeping made him wonder if she had originally had something else in mind and the idea of helping her undress would play havoc with his nerves. He wouldn’t mind though. Not at all.

She didn't dare hope he would agree to save her from being alone. Still she had managed to undress herself and slide into the bed, her eyes sliding closed for a second as she steadied her breathing. His softness and care had drawn a small gasp from her as he carried her and now she watched him. She spoke softly to him. "I'll be alright." Her eyes met his as she spoke softly. "Get undressed and join me please?" Her request was gentle and even as she asked she felt herself smiling, the look in his eyes making her feel sure of herself.

Henry averted his eyes as she undressed, not wanting to cause her any embarrassment, turning back around when she spoke. As their eyes met, her gentle words made him feel more at ease and he nodded. He quickly slipped his shirt off his body, setting it on the bed then removed his shoes, socks, and pants. All of these were folded carefully and placed on a chair in the corner before he returned to the side of the bed. When she was under the covers, he slipped in beside and curled up, his chest to her back. He slung an arm around her waist and buried his head in her hair, nuzzling her as her warmth bled over his body, relaxing him.

The feel of Henry's body against her back her made it easier for her to relax, his soft nuzzling easing the last of the panic away from her. She had stirred only a little before slipping into sleep and smiling softly. "Mmmm." The sound of contented relaxation had drawn all the aching from her body before she murmured a sweet. "Thank you Henry." It was clear she trusted him as she let sleep take her, unaware of the woman coming up the drive.

Henry heard her thank you and smiled against her hair, not wanting to answer for fear of pulling her out of the slumber she was slipping into. Soon her breathing was even and steady, sleep having finally claimed her. He did not fall as fast as she did into it though and listened to the quiet of the night, noting the various noises coming from the house. A drip of a faucet in the kitchen, the rattle of a window as wind lashed it gently, and the sound of a car coming up the driveway. That last one stopped his thoughts cold and he listened more carefully, his heightened vampire hearing tuning it. A car was definitely coming up the driveway, stopping, a door opening and someone getting out. He gently shook Felicity, waking her. “Felicity” he murmured against her ear. “You have company. Are you expecting someone?”

Felicity had woken slowly and rolled to look over at him. Her answer was slow. "It's probably just someone who found out about the parents." She sounded sure and relaxed although it had taken her a while to pull herself together enough to speak. "We should probably go and meet her." She spoke seemingly sure what she needed to do. All the same she didn't want to get up.

He noted her sleepy look as she rolled over, letting his eyes glide over her rumpled hair and her half lidded eyes, noting how innocent it all looked. What he was thinking wasn’t that innocent of course because all he could think about was kissing her right then and maybe doing more. He shook those thoughts from his mind though, rolling over and out of bed to stretch. “We should” he said, quickly putting his pants and shirt back on, leaving the shoes and socks for now. When he was done, he turned back to the bed. “Joining me?” he asked quietly.

She had risen and dressed quickly before she headed around the bed to meet Henry, reaching to gently take his hand before she headed to the stairs. Her eyes met his almost by accident and she spoke softly. "Ready for this?" She asked gently. A part of her didn't want to risk opening the door but she had to. Once she had opened the door her nerves eased away instantly. "Alti!"

The woman had been timid as she stood in the door but now she stepped to embrace her friend, gentle arms wrapped around Felicity. "Hello Fliss." Her tone was tender and her eyes met Henry's before she spoke again. "You didn't tell me you had a hunk in the house." It was clear from her tone she felt protective of her friend and when Felicity let go she had smiled at the man, her fangs clearly out as she did so. "Don't you dare hurt her..." Long brown hair fell into brown eyes and she spoke quietly. "Ever."

Henry knew the person on the other side of the door was a vampire long before Felicity opened it and his senses had gone on full alert. He didn't recognize her scent though that wasn't unusual per se. Henry didn't know all the night creatures, just most of them. When the two women embraced, Henry gave them space, knowing instantly that they were friends. A blush crept up his cheeks at the stranger's compliment. "I wouldn't think of it" he answered quietly, baring his own fangs in return. He held out a hand to her and smiled. "Henry, at your service" he murmured.

"Alti, at yours." Alti had returned the words, finding herself smiling a little at the strange vampire. He smelt different, less dangerous and more... caressing. She found the scent beguiling all the same and watched him closely before she spoke. "I take it miss Fliss here trusts you." Her words were soft. "So do I. She always did have a good sense of right and wrong and who to befriend." Her eyes met his again as she took Felicity's small hand in her own. "Guard her with all you have, because if I find her alone.... I swear I'll take you out of the equation." She was speaking roughly but angry tears had sprungto her eyes. "She needs us both now."

Henry nodded. “I would assume so…since she invited me home” he said with a small smile. He sized the other woman up then, taking in her appearance. She was pretty in a homespun way, sporting the “girl next door” look. He could tell Felicity, or Fliss as her friend called her, liked her and that was good enough for him. He blinked when her rough words were spoken, shocked at the tone and the protectiveness in them. He inclined his head, another slightly more sinister smile gracing his lips. “I had planned on it” he murmured. Then, just to make sure they understood each other, he grinned again, letting a feral look cross his face. “Just so we’re clear, if you try to take me out, I won’t let you.”

Alti had laughed at that. "Deal." She couldn't help but smile at him. He seemed to truely care for her friend and she liked that he was brave enough to stand up to her. Now she spoke gently to Felicity. "He seems to like you Miss Fliss." Her responce had been a shy giggle and she squeezed her friend's hand gently. "I don't suppose you know any handsome men looking for a partner?" The question was gentle as she addressed Henry, seemingly feeling a little lonely. Felicity had spoken gently then, smiling a little.

"You can tell she's been alone a while huh?" Her smile was clear as she squeezed Alti's hand again. "Not that she had much manners anyway."

Henry quirked his lips at her words to Felicity, choosing not to respond further at that moment. The bond between these two was strong and he had no wish to interfere with it, though the energy in the small space fairly crackled with power. He shook his head at her question. “No, I’m afraid I’m a bit of a loner. Well, at least until I met Felicity three years ago. Though I will certainly keep my eye out for you” he said with a wink and a small nod. Glancing down at Felicity, he laughed. “Vampires in general don’t have many manners Ms. Felicity” he murmured. “That’s why I fight against my kind when the need arises.” He looked back up at her friend. “Won’t you come in?” he asked though it really wasn’t his place to do so since this was Felicity’s home.

Felicity smiled as Alti took a step in, speaking softly. "It's alright, come on." Alti stepped further in, slowly looking herself over, seemingly glad that she was safe. Felicity had taken Alti in closer, letting the woman squeeze in close. "I guess you aren't my only friend Henry... although I would be happier if my poor sweet Alti had a companion." It was clear she cared greatly for Alti even as she spoke gently. "If you find someone... do tell us." She had moved to Henry's side, taking his hand slowly. "We should all go to bed."

Henry blinked when he realized what he’d done. He could have gotten Alti hurt if Felicity hadn’t wanted her to enter. Or could he have? Did the house already consider him a family member? That thought caused him to cock his head and look at the walls more carefully. It did feel a little like home but maybe that had more to do with Felicity than the house. He stepped back when she took his hand, opening room for Alti to enter. “That’s a good idea” he murmured, noting the late hour. “I know I’m tired.” He wasn’t sure where Felicity’s guest room was so he simply stepped back further so she could give instructions.

Felicity smiled softly, noting the slight trembling in Alti's hand. "Perhaps we should all share the bed." Her eyes met Henry's as she added. "I know I could certainly use the warmth."

(OOC: Bleh, sorry that sucked)

When the eyes locked, Henry's widened slightly. All share the bed? That concept surprised him, especially coming from Felicity. He figured she didn't mean it in a sensual way but it still seemed "out there" for her given her shyness. He didn't mind the cold but if Felicity wanted to share a bed with Alti, he could do it for her. He looked at her and smiled, nodding. "Sure, I'd be fine with that. Alti?" He looked up at her as he said her name, asking her what she thought.

Alti had smiled shyly, nodding her agreement. "That sounds like a good idea." Her agreement was gentle. Her eyes met Henry's as she spoke, showing just how nervy she was feeling. Once Alti and Henry had both agreed Felicity had taken them both up the stairs, seemingly refusing to let go of either of them. She had settled Alti first, then crawled in to rest beside her. Her relaxation was clear before she beckoned for Henry to join them.

Henry was a little surprised at just how nervous Felicity’s friend was around him but he shrugged it off. Perhaps she was a bit of a loner also and the idea of sharing a friend, much less a bed, would take some time to get comfortable. They headed back up the stairs, each of them holding a hand of Felicity’s and entered the bedroom. Alti moved to one side of the bed, lying down, her back towards the center, and Felicity moved next to her, facing her back. Henry climbed in on the other side of Felicity when she beckoned, scooting close to her and sliding an arm over her waist. His hand was touching Alti’s hip at the same time.

Alti had stiffened before Felicity stroked her hair back, whispering a tender 'Relax' to the woman, feeling her relax under Henry's touch at her soft word. She liked that Alti trusted her enough to trust Henry with her. Her own heartbeat had slowed and she had smiled softly, allowing herself to still once she had felt that Alti was relaxed enough to sleep, the sound of Alti's soft breath had made her sigh as she fell asleep. "Thanks for being here." The words were soft, addressed to Henry.

Henry heard her words and relaxed a little more, pressed against her back, his face nuzzled in her neck. It was an intimate position but not intimate in this particular instance, or at least not that way. He smiled and whispered “you’re welcome Felicity” before closing his eyes and relaxing. His hand stayed resting against Alti’s hip, not so much for comfort but because it felt right. As he slowed his breathing and relaxed his body and mind, he felt himself slowly drift off, fading into a deep slumber, the warmth of the women helping to keep him under.
