OOC: Sounds perfect, I like it. ^^
The days apart from his loving kitsune mate felt like an eternity, driving him up a wall as he attempted to find any kind of hobby or task that could occupy his mind and thoughts away from said fox. It was extremely difficult, and as of today, impossible. It was like scratching at a black board; painfully annoying. Mainly because he was away from her. Before they were together with one another, Nick would just feel like he was more impatient with waiting until they hung out again, happy once they were beside one another and plotting their next prank. Now, it felt even more painful. He felt like he was missing something. A huge piece within his own heart that Tama was holding on to. It wasn't too far from the truth. With his love, Nick also gave her his heart. When they were apart, his body would ache to be with her again. Yes, it may be the urge sometimes to be intimate with her. But 9 times out of 10, it was deeper. Nick just missed her. Anything would do, so long as she was there. It could be just the sight of her, her smell, her voice. Just bring him Tama, and life would be perfect again.
That's why, Nick was climbing up the mountain path after class, a bag of groceries in his hand. It was everything she had asked for from him. It was a bit difficult to get there stealthily, of course. And it really wasn't because of people labeling him as the "Monster Girl Lover". No, they weren't obstacles. Yuki was the main one, but even supposed friends were as well. God, they wanted to do a couple things with him, which was getting in the way. Nick wanted to see Tama! So, he had to use every trick and lie he had. Oh, Nick had to go stock his fridge with food. Oh, Nick had to repair an appliance at home. He wasn't feeling too well, he'd stay in. Everything and anything that popped in his head was his weapon against them. But, thankfully that was done. Now, he just needed to get to Tama's little home and be with her for the rest of the night. Hopefully. Just in case, Nick brought his phone. Charged, in case of Yuki. He had to keep up the charade, after all.
Walking along the path, he saw the curious eyes of other monster girls. Not just kitsune, but others as well. Kitsune apparently seemed to be heavy in this area, however. Compared to before though, they seemed to be keeping their distance, though watchful as always. Nick raised an eyebrow at that, but supposed it was better than being pounced on. Perhaps Tama's scent was on him. Didn't ordinary foxes do something similar? It was what he assumed, and it felt like it made the most sense. These other kitsune were being respectful, and he was glad. It would be dangerous traveling through here if they weren't. He wasn't interested in being raped by a random monster girl. Nick promised himself to Tama, and Tama only. Although, a worrying thought passed his mind.
What if Nick wasn't enough? Well, maybe love wise he would, to which he thought he would make sure never to screw up. But more importantly, for her other tails. Would she... require more lovers if he couldn't keep up? Nick bit his lip nervously. He wanted her happy, and if she wanted more tails, then perhaps she would need more. Although, he'd still be Number 1, right? Nick hoped so. Ugh, why did he have to bring this up?! He rustled his hair and groaned out in frustration, punching himself in the head. The thought was enough to distract him and make him forget that he was stepping off the path. He began rambling about how it was annoying, that he was nervous, that he questioned his own abilities. Nick was oblivious to where his feet were taking him, deeper into the forest still until his figure would be completely unseen from the road...
... An hour later...
... A knock came to Tama's door. Upon opening it, Tama would find another kitsune, stifling a laugh as she held a kimono sleeve on her mouth. "Tamamo? Did you lose something? Or rather, did your mate not know where he was going?" The older fox asked, snickering yet attempting still to hold it back. She simply shook her head, a silent response to tell Tama not to answer while she stepped to the side. Behind her was Nick, completely soaked from head to toe with his hair blocking his eyes, shoulders slumped forward as he held himself. The kitsune then burst out laughing as she clutched her sides, a single tear dripping down her cheek from sheer amusement.
"Oh Gods, Tamamo. It was hilarious. I was passing by and saw your husband, rambling on about some nonsense without even noticing he was walking towards the river. Then he just stepped right in, bwahahaha!" A moment to let her fit of laughter run. "Oh goodness. He shouted out and nearly floated down river, further into the mountains. It was so funny! He was splashing everywhere, the fish jumping on to him as he tried to stay afloat. Ahahahaha!" Meanwhile, Nick simply shivered from the chills he received from drenched clothing. He sniffled a bit, raising his hair so he could look at Tama. "Oh, I'm sorry. You should get him inside before he comes down with a cold. But if you saw it..." She trailed off before turning around and laughing again. She couldn't find a moment to breathe let alone say goodbye. So simply waving at them both, she was walking off, leaving the two lovebirds in front of Tama's home.
A mess, the young human man gave a sheepish smile while sniffling again. "H-Hey. The foods a little wet," He held up the bag, though miraculously, he was able to keep it all. "But I got the eggs and tofu. R-Right?" Hopefully she had dry clothes for him, Nick unaware of the lovely yukata she had made for him. But he definitely couldn't stay in this. Nick had good health, but he wasn't about to press his luck.
