"I've got everything set," He smiled and handed you an apple from his bag. "You can't eat meat, right? You look like you're both full of energy and exhausted. Here." He stretched a bit. he was mildly handsome (+3 cha mod) and despite his previous sadness, was actually quite easy going. "I was just making sure the little ones won't get bored. A month in the desert is a long time."

She accepts the apple and takes a bite of it before replying. "Yes, meat makes me very sick. And Lios is going to need some help. He was teaching me about Dibella and I believe I wore him out." She said, being very frank about what just happened. "I must say my people should worship her given the way we act." She added with a laugh.

He blushed a deep red and stared at her. "I-I see.. I-I'm a worshiper of Stendarr, and besides, I'm a virgin, so I wouldn't know." He scratched his head, flustered, and spoke quietly so the children wouldn't overhear what he thought was a embarrassing conversation. "I- I was going to ask you to sparr with me, but I'm not sure you would want to after that. Maybe some other time."

"I actually feel rather fine if you'd like to spar. I could use the practice, and your fighting skills are interesting." She told Balmung, matching his volume although not sure why he seemed so flustered. "But if you do not want to then I can find something to help with I'm sure."

He gave her a wooden longsword and smiled. "To be honest, I'd like to promise fighting unarmed. I don't want to weaker without a weapon." He explained and bowed lightly to her, before getting into a simple stance, having peeled off his armor, leaving pants and a simple shirt. "On your lead."

Ber'nia took the wooden long sword and considered it for a moment, then set it aside. "I would feel at an unfair advantage if I used a weapon either then." She informed him, nodding and taking up a boxing stance. "Now then, prepare to defend yourself." She says as she darts forward throwing a quick punch.

(Ber'nia does not have improved unarmed strike. She issued a fighting challenge to Balmung, who qualifies for the ability. To hit = 30. Damage = 5 non-lethal if it hits.)

Balmung takes the hit and smiles, going in for a grapple. (25 grapple check, unless you add base attack bonus, I can't remember... then it would be 35. +5 str mod ftw)

(Grapple is a melee touch attack then the opposed grapple checks, after an AoOP if you do not have improved grapple. You may attempt it as many times as you get attacks in a turn. I remember my grapple rules because they are so darn complicated.)

(So that would be for the touch attack then? Also I rolled a 1 on my Attack of opportunity, so that's not good. I'm going to guess we could count that is auto grappled you control the grapple? Or something of the like?)

(sure)
Balmung took her hand and put it behind her back, pushing her forward and onto her chest, but was very careful as to not injure her or cause her pain, personally unable to actually -strike- a woman. "Pin."

Ber'nia is caught off guard as she is suddenly spun around and forced down. She struggles for a bit but can not get free.

"You win, you win!" She calls out, almost laughing at how quickly Balmung managed to pin her. "Let me up."

He nodded and smiled, but sighed softly once he let her up. "looks like I still can't though.. This could be troublesome for the group... I'm strong, but I can't bring myself to actually 'fight' a woman.. That's dangerous for the group."

He started to re-don his armor, and his shirt was pulled up a bit in the process. He was well built, but there was several scars and even a burn mark or two across his chest and torso.

Ber'nia saw the burn markings and a look of concern crossed her face. "How did you get those?" She asked him softly. " They look like they hurt.

He looked at her with a soft smile, the memories themselves painful, but calm none of the less. "Most of the scars were from the older members of the village. The burn marks are actually from my brother, my mother, and my father.. Forgive me.. I know I'm.. unappealing." He smiled a little, not horribly bothered, but a tiny bit sad. "What's done is done.. They thought that if they did it they would be saved. Misguided though they might of been.. I don't blame them for what they did to me. Spite will get me nowhere."

"No, they don't make you unappealing. And it's just so sad, you've had a hard life haven't you?" She said as she moves over and hugs him, regardless of the scars and burns. She gives him a soft kiss on the cheek trying to cheer him up. "I am so sorry for bringing that up."

Balmung blushed deep red, not used to it."N-no worries.. It's my life, I can't change it. It's just how I deal with it, right?" He stammered. "A-at any rate, do you have everything you need? I got some extra rations just in case."

"I have plenty, but you don't need to be sad any more. Travel with Lios and I, I promise your life will be better, and you will be loved." she says, giving Balmung a kiss on the cheek. "Let someone worry about you. You seem to worry about others so much you don't care about yourself."

He blushed more and stared at her, not knowing what to say. "Th-thanks Ber'nia.. L-let's work hard okay? I'm not the best fighter, but I'll definitely do my best..." He stopped to think for a while. "Come to think of this, it is a bit odd.. I don't remember why I came to this town.. It wasn't on my planned route.. Maybe the Divines led me here." He started to laugh, "Listen to me, I must sound like a fool."

"Fate or chance, either way I'm glad you showed up." She tells Balmung before finally disengaging the hug. She smiles at him then nods toward some of the supplies. "We should probably get this stuff stored somewhere."

Ber'nia lifts up some of the supplies and carries them out to the caravan. She makes sure to work with Balmung and keep in his sight making sure he does not become depressed and dreary again.

Balmung loads his armful quickly and securely before going to get another set. He is visibly much more relaxed, and his productivity is much better because of it. "Hey, don't let me get you 2-0 now!" He joked toward her. "You have a knight's reputation to uphold."

"Well you are bigger than me." She calls back to him, trying to keep up but the difference in strength keeping Balmung slightly ahead. "But I might surprise you next time." She says, giving him a coy wink.
