Beauty and the Beast (Kolath and Candira)

Belle carried on with her work, occasionally snacking on fruit or taking a sip of wine. She made a list of the books and which section they were in using an easy to understand system. She loved working along side her prince for the day, even if they weren't doing anything particularly important. It was time with him and it was time when they were equals. When they reached another good stopping point, she let him put a stack of books back before she pulled him into another kiss. "I think now is a good time to stop for another break," she said with a smile.

He smiled and brushed his hand over her cheek and back into her hair pulling her closer and kissing her deeply. “Oh indeed?” he smiled and slipped his arm around her waist before leading her back over to the large couch they had shared before and sat down before encouraging her to join him again. “And just what did you have in mind to do for this break my love?”

Isabelle smiled and sat down with him in his lap, her arms draped around his shoulders like a maiden in a romantic painting she'd once seen. "I believe resting is in order. You deserve to hold something besides a book, and I deserve to look at something besides pages full of writing." She smiled and kissed his lips softly, staring into his eyes. "I love you," she said with a smile.

Lionel lay back on the couch looking up at her and just enjoying her being there. His hands rubbed her back and sides but clearly stayed away from places that they shouldn’t be going yet. He kissed her deeply and brushed one hand over her cheek and into her hair sighing deeply. “Mmm I love you too Belle. You are defiantly more fun to hold then a book my love, and a lot softer.” He lay with her there staying controlled but enjoying her being their none the less. However long they could get away with just being together they did just that talking about everything.

Belle smiled at his self restraint. She talked to him about all sorts of things--hobbies, childhood dreams, fears, favorites--you name it. She stayed tucked perfectly into his arms and awhile later they got back to work. When they decided to call it quits, they'd already reached the end of day one. Belle could only hope that tomorrow would be just as wonderful as today had been.

The few days quickly passed for them both. They spent as much time as they could together, only the times when Lionel had matters of state to attend to keeping them apart, but Lionel did his best to make those as short as he could.

The fifth day Lionel was acting strange almost distant seeming to not want to be around her as much. he would get lost in thought and not say anything to her for long moments and just seem totally not with her.

Belle thoroughly enjoyed the next few days. There didn't seem to be anything she didn't know and love about her prince. She happily greeted him whenever he found her. She managed to work in the library and the garden while she was doing some research. Of course, she had many of the servants helping her. And she even visited the injured. What pleased her most was when she did all of these things with Lionel.

When finally the last day of the days they were meant to wait to be together arrived, she found more and more that she was all by herself. For what seemed like the twelfth time that day, she took hold of his arm and looked up into his eyes worriedly. "Lionel? Are you sure you're alright?"

He blinked and looked at her as she asked him that question. She had asked before and he wondered what it was that had made her see something in him that was different. Could she tell he was planning something? Well time to cheat a little bit. “Well…no nothing really. Just a little bothered because of the ball tonight. I just don’t know what I will do it has been so long since there was a formal ball here.” this was the first time that anyone had mentioned a ball to Belle since all the servants were in on the secret.

Belle's eyes widened in surprise at mention of a ball. This was the first she'd heard of anything of that sort! Had she known she could have...She smiled and shook her head, playfully smacking his shoulder. "You!" She laughed and put her arms around him. "Why didn't you tell me? I was worried about you all day." She rested her head on his shoulder and snuggled into him. "Quite a surprise to pull off on your own. You didn't need to do anything, you know."

He smiled and held her close brushing his hand over her cheek and kissing her softly. “Well I wanted to surprise you because I want you to be there by my side. Also it’s the first after so long and I wanted to try it myself since I needed to know that I can do it.” he smiled and brushed his hand over her cheek. “Your maid tell me that you will need several hours to prepare for tonight. Though I think you are perfect I dare say that your maids think they can improve on perfection. They made me promise I would have you back at your room…oh about now.” He gently took her arm and started to lead her down the hallway.

She laughed and let him guide her back to her room. Though she wasn't entirely sure she liked having her time controlled by so many other people, she couldn't deny that there was a bit of excitement to it all. "You're all so sneaky," she said with a little mock look of anger. It didn't last long. Once they were back at her room, Belle kissed him again. "I suppose I'll have to see you later, my lord." With that, she bowed gracefully and disappeared through her door as her maids appeared and practically dragged her inside.

He smiled and let his hand brush over hers as she was pulled away from him by her servants. It was then his time to go and prepare for the ball tonight. Hurrying to his room he and his menservants prepared him for that evening. It was going to be one of the most important nights of his life. the tradition wasn’t even practiced in their home land any more but Lionel was adamant that it be done this way.

The room was cleaned and prepared candles were lit all along the walls and in the chandler casting a warm glow over the entire room giving a almost ethereal quality to the night. The large window were opened and the moonlight flooded in casting its own power to this night.

Lionel finally walked into the ball room looking around nodding slowly, everything was in its place the servants had done well. He walked down into the center of the room waiting for her to join him. dressed in a dark blue cape and jacket over a white ruffled shirt. His pants matched the jacket and cape and his boots freshly polished black. He had the look of a prince about him for the first time since she had come there. Rather than his normal almost common clothes.

When her maids finished with her, Belle was absolutely perfect. She knew because they told her so. Excited, she walked slowly in her clothes, her heart beating in her chest as she headed for the ballroom. When the doors opened for her, she slowly walked through. Through the portal walked a beautiful woman who was the picture of decadence.

Her chocolate brown hair was curled and styled to perfection, half of it up in a lovely french twist, the rest of it down in curls. Her curvy body filled a golden silk dress in the most delicious of ways. Her soft breasts were given nice lift by a corset back dress that hung off of her shoulders, though it had sleeves made of a golden lace. it hugged her down to her hips and then flared out with a slight train, the silk skirt trimmed perfectly with lace. Her pale skin stood out against it perfectly and a large sapphire necklace completed the look.

As she walked toward Lionel, her breath caught at the beauty of the room and the handsome looks he came by so naturally. Though he was always handsome in whatever he wore, his elegance and strength were highlighted tonight. She was utterly speechless for a moment as she looked around her. It was a fairy tale.

Lionel heard the doors open and waited till she gasped softly and took her first step down the stairs before turning and smiling at her. he was the very definition of dashing his hair flipping slightly as he turned and his smile genuine and perfect. He stepped up to the end of the stair and reached out taking her hand helping her down the last few steps. “Welcome to the ball my lady. Now that you are here we can get started.” he smiled and lightly took her hands leading her out toward the center of the dance floor.

Belle had lifted her skirts a bit with one hand to keep from falling as she walked down the stairs, but when he took her hand she hardly thought the measure was necessary anymore. This man would let nothing unfortunate happen to her. She smiled once she was on the same level as him and let her skirts drop. They just barely graced the floor. Her other hand rested in his as he welcomed her and led her toward the dance floor.

Despite the fact that they were the only two in the room, Belle was taken in by his lovely gesture and his words. He had made her so happy. She couldn't help but think it was lovely as any ball with no one but them as it would have been with other people there. Still beaming she said, "Thank you for inviting me. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

He smiled and gently spun her into his arms the music starting softly from a group of servants that were well hidden up in the music loft out of sight but easily heard. His arm slipped around her waist holding her close against his body. “You haven’t kept me waiting Isabelle. And even if you had I would gladly wait my entire life for you.” He brushed his other hand down her arm lightly taking her hand and starting to slowly move around the dance floor with her. even if she had never danced before he was such a expert dancer that he was able to lead her along the right path without ever stepping on her toes or anything.

She couldn't seem to stop smiling. Everything about this night was perfect so far. She loved the way he effortlessly moved her around the dance floor, his powerful arms holding her body to him. Grinning, she let him guide her, putting her trust in him. The music was beautiful and the words he spoke made her melt. He could have led her anywhere. She squeezed his hand and leaned against him, smiling. "I'm so glad to know that," she said looking up at him.

He smiled and held her close loving the feel of how their bodies molded together so perfectly. He leaned down kissing her cheek softly continuing the dance with her. the moonlight and candle light adding to the intimate mood of the moment as he looked only into her eyes. He didn’t know what to say as they danced together just enjoying the moment together and not caring for anything else in the world. With no idea how long had passed they started to slow down ending up where they had begun in the middle of the ballroom. He looked down into her eyes and slowly brushed one hand under her chin leaning in and kissing her soft and tenderly.

Isabelle could feel her heart beating faster, her body heating as he kissed her. As he lifted her chin, she felt as though she were the luckiest woman alive. She blushed softly and kissed him back, the moment somehow feeling more sensual than any other experience she'd had with him. She didn't care how much time had passed since they'd started to dance together. It almost seemed as though it had stopped. And so she continued to kiss him sweetly, passionately, her body pressed against his as she rested in his arms.

He kissed her just as passionately back his arms slipping around her holding her silk covered body close against his. The feel of her back and sides under the silk was making his body heat up as he held her kissing her deeply. He had never ever felt like this with any woman that he had been with. He gently pulled back from the kiss looking into her eyes. “Belle…if we are going to have to be apart tonight… I need to leave now.” He kissed her again softly. “I need you Belle, I have never tried to hide that fact, but now it is worse that we have connected so deeply over these last few days.” He lightly rested his forehead on hers. “If you are going to tell me to sleep alone tonight I need to know now.”

As he pulled away from her she was nearly dizzy. In something of a daze, she listened to him tell her that he needed her, his sweet words making her smile. "I love you, Lionel. I don't think that I could spend tonight away from your side. I need you just as much as you need me." She smiled up at him and stayed just where she was in his arms. "I don't want to be without you ever again." She smiled and hugged him close to her.

He held herclose just standing there in the moonlight not having noticed that the candles had burned out a long time ago. The music had also stopped but that didn’t matter to him since his heart was singing at this moment having the girl that he truly loved in his arms for now and forever. He leaned down gently kissing her his hand on her back holding them close. Rather suddenly he stepped back from her and dropped to one knee holding her hand softly and kissing the back of it. “Belle, I never want to be without you either. Marry me, Belle, and be my queen for all the world to see.”

The kiss left her breathless, and his move to pull away from her was almost physically painful. Her lips parted in protest until she gasped, seeing him on his knee. The kiss to the back of her hand made her blush and she nodded, her eyes glittering with tears. "Of course," she said, her voice wavering a bit. "Of course I'll marry you!"

He smiled and stood wrapping his arms around her and picking her up skirt and all bridal style and spinning around with her laughing happily before leaning in and kissing her deeply. He had never been so happy as to have her say yes to him. he looked into her eyes for a long moment before letting her slowly slide down his body back to her feet their bodies pressed tightly to each other. “Let me come to your bed tonight my love. Let me show you the pleasure that was stolen from you.”

Belle laughed as he spun her around, treating her like a bride already. She kissed him back and stayed close, letting him slowly put her back down again. She blushed as he asked to come to her bod and nodded, her eyes unable to look away from his. "Of course, Lionel. Come to bed with me tonight. I don't want to be alone." Memories of her rape came rushing toward her, and she felt a bit scared as she remembered what it had been like. But Lionel was nothing like that beast. He was gentle and kind, and she knew that he wouldn't hurt her. Not on purpose.

The trust in her eyes was perfectly clear, with the love that she had for him shining through as well. She wanted so much to please him, to make him happy and make sure that he never regretted his decision. In the back of her mind, fear lingered, but she knew he could be trusted. She wanted to believe in him, and so she did.
