From hate comes love. (My_Apocalypse_Pony and I)

Her alarm went off at 6am, it blared in her ear. Half asleep she pushed it off the nightstand, which didn't shut it off, just made it out of her reach. Grunting she rolled out of bed, falling to the floor she realized she was naked. Turning slowly she blushed when she seen her door wide open. After turning off her alarm she crawled to the door shutting it. Standing up she started getting dressed, Keeping it simple today she put her hair in puffy pigtails, stripped stockings and a black baby doll dress. Slipping into her clunky Mary Jane's, she grabbed her psp and cell off her night stand and headed to the bathroom to do her makeup and brush her teeth.

Joe was already up, he'd made breakfast, he was a fair cook and when he and his twin sister ate home cooked meals it was his cooking they ate. Joe wore today a brown polo, black jeans and some matching black boots. He was never one too wear accesories like watches. He was a normal guy, only thing he wore while doing most stuff was his glasses. Joe read the newspaper as he sat on a stool. The pancakes and bacon cooked. He had made enough for two persons but he didn't feel too hungry today and felt more distracted for some odd reason. He was good with all highschool subjects, he like learning new stuff. He could not imagine why someone didn't want too know something new. Yet he knew he was a little weird for that.

Lyndsey hopped down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. Grabbing a peice of bacon out the frying pan she dropped on a paper towel next to the stove. Hissing, she put her slightly burnt fingers in her mouth. Walking to the fridge she grabbed the catren of orange juice and shook it. "We're out of OJ" she said before gulping down the last of it. going back to the bacon she put the whole slightly undercooked peice in her mouth. Plopping down next to her brother she leaned her back against the counter.

He held in his laughter as she hissed. He would have too walk too the store after school, he would be home after school at a much later time. They both had a credit card for spending but Joe had two credit cards, one for his personal use and another one fore groceries and such. He glanced at his sister then at the paper. They didn't generaly talk much even though most people said that twins were 'connected' they were far from that maybe once they could've finished each others sentences. But that was once upon a fairytale long ago. They were more strangers, he secretly wished it was not like that. He got up from the stool and got two plates and placed them on the table and prepared the table. He mostly ate alone.

"You shouldn't frown so much, it causes wrinkle" she didnt think he cared. Even for all there bickering she honestly cared for him, and adored his smile. It was one of those that could melt a girls heart. "You know" she said setting down at the table, "I bet if you smiled more, and actualy smiled, more girls would like you." The only smile she, or anyone else, seen was the sarcastic arrogant one he put on when he knew he was right. Which was most of the time.

The years had made his face a bit emotionless. But her comment got too him as he served the food on both plates. He sat down as he heard her talk. A natural smile overcame him making him smile ear too ear. He started cutting into the pancake. "....I like your normal hair color. It suits your eyes." He ate off his plate and glanced at her. It was a odd morning since she never ate with him but he said nothing and enjoyed her company even if just for a little while. He smiled out the corners for his mouth and drank some milk with his pancakes and bacon. He wondered how she would take the compliment he gave her. He braced himself for the worse.

She rolled her eyes and sighed deeply, "I only dye it to look as little like you as posible." Shoving a big bite of pancake into her mouth she stood up and stomped away. Before she reached the front door she turned around stomped back to the table grabbing the bacon on her plate and gulping down the last of her milk. "I starving" she scouled. Then turned around and stompedd out the front door, and slammed it behind her.

He sighed as he hung his head foward, he just didn't know how too get through too her. His appetite was lost and he dropped the fork on the plate. He grabbed both plates and placed them in the sink. He sighed again and shook his head. He grabbed his keys and book bag and headed out the door locking it behind him. "Hope I'm a rock in the next life." He spoke as he started too walk up the side walk towards the highschool.

With a heavy sigh Lyndsey walked through the front door, tossing her messanger bag on the floor. She walked down a small flight of stairs and flopped down on the large couch. she usually went straight to her room but Zombieland had just come out onDemand and the tv in the family room was huge with surond sound.
She had skipped her final two classes of the day, but didn't come home too early. There where a lot of stay at home moms in the neighbor hood who doubled as noisy neighbors and taddle tales. She arived home only ten minutes early and didn't expect any one to bother her untill her parents got home. Joe usually went straight to his room to finish homework and God only knows what else.

"I'm home you crazy people!" He shouted through the house wondering who were home. He looked down at the floor and saw his twin sisters bag. He shook his head and picked it up. "I know you are here!" He made it the stairs and entered the family room. And placed her bag beside the door. "What do you want for dinner?" He asked without even a hello since he was tired of her crazyness he decided to stear clear of her. He knew Zombieland was playing but he already downloaded it onto his personal laptop. If she was in a better mood he would have shared it with her long ago. His school day boring like any other day and not much of a challenge for him. He could do his homework later on.

Without looking away from the Tv she gave her best zombie impretion "braaains" she said with a straight face. She was sprawled across the couch, looking up at him she shruged. "I don't know, pizza" she looked back at the Tv. "Whats got you in such a good mood, dweeb? Got another A on a test?" She clapped dryly "yay you." kicking her shoes off she pulled her feet up so they wher flat on the couch. "Hey get me a sprite would you?"

He sighed irritated. "You can dial a phone can't you? Oh no! Don't tell me that dye affected your brain." He waved her off and went up the stairs. "Well I maybe a dweeb but this dweeb just got a scholarship letter from Havard. Just wanted to share that but thanks. Good support sistem." Went to the fridge and took a sprite for himself. He then walked up stairs and into his room and turned on the computer.

Rolling her eyes, Lyndsey paused the movie, and got up walking to the kitchen. Opening the fridge she grabbed a sprite and a piece of pizza leftover from the night before. Walking back to the family room she stopped at the top of the stairs. A small ache in her cheast made her turn, deciding to go appoligize to her brother. Walking up to his room she stopped at his door for a moment then walked over to his desk where he sat at his desk. Setting the pizza and soda down she hugged his shoulders, resting her chin on the top of his head. "Hey dweeb, I'm sorry, I am happy for you and damned proud. Its just, things keep getting harder, I don't even want to try anymore you know?" She sighed and kissed the top of his head "love you big bro."

When she came into his room the last thing he expected in the world was for her to kiss him and for her to say the word 'love' in any sense. He sighed softly his right hand resting on her hands "If things get to hard all you need todo is ask for help. You know I would help you in a heartbeat." He hated being mean especially to his own twin sister. But she just got to him sometimes and made him as he could get. "I love you too, Dear sister." He refrained ruining the moment as he always seemed todo by speaking and keept quiet. He would help her with anything she needed. He knew he was loved. In her own odd way.

"Really" she asked "well could i get eighty bucks? I really want a tattoo" she smied wide letting go of her brother. "Just kidding, I already have one" she laughed as she headed back down the stairs. Sitting back down on the couch, she realized she had fogotten her pizza and soda. "Oh well he can have them" she said to herself as she pushed play on the remote.

He laughed a little as she left. His eyes looked at the pizza and soda she left. He had already eaten a big sandwhich and was not really hungry. He got up and grabbed the plate and a soda. He walked downstairs and entered the family room. "Here you can have the slice I ate already. I'll order us some more pizza." He placed the slice of pizza and soda infront of her on the coffee table and stepped out and into the kitchen as he grabbed the house phone and speed dialed the pizza place ordering up some pizza.

She sat up grabbing her pizza and taking a big bite. "You don't have to do that" she yelled to him "there is like still a half of one in the fridge." She paused as she watched the movie and laughed. "You should make some pop corn and come watch a movie with me."

He shrugged and hanged up the phone. Joe then took a packet of popcorn and placed it in the microwave. A few minutes passed until the popcorn was done and he pour them into a bowl. He then walked down the stairs and into the family a bowl of popcorn in his hands. He then sat beside her and placed the bowl of popcorn between them. Joe was a bit forgetfull when it came to stuff he might've been the smart one but she had better memory than him.

Zombieland finished before Joe came back to the family room and sat next to Lyndsey. She was flipping through the movies onDemand, turning to her brother she shrugged "what you wanna watch?" The front door opened as there parents arrived home. Figuring they would just go to there room Lyndsey didn't pay much attention to them. When they walked into the family room and she turned her head to see them. They looked pissed, their eyes shifted from her to her brother.
"Joseph, go to your room, we need to talk to your sister. In private," their mother said but didn't say anything else just waited for him to leave.

Joe glanced at her sister mouthing the words 'be strong' he then glanced at their said parents. "And hello to you to said parents. Did you have fun at the yatch club?" His tone as dry and as sarcastic as ever. He couldn't wait to graduate and go to Harvard. He planned on taking his twin sister away from this hell hole. He made it out the family room as he stormed away upstairs and into his room. He knew they were pissed of but could care less than ever. The only reason he stayed was for his sister. Even if they never saw eye to eye he would still stay with her.

"Can i help you?" Lyndsey asked as soon as she heard he brother walk up the stairs. Crossing her arms and leaning back on the couch she gave them a cool look that said she was not afraid.

"We got a call from your school today" her mother said "they said you missed your last two classes."

"After talking to them" her father effortlessly picked up where here mother had left off, "they told us you have missed at least two classes a day since the school year started. You are failing five out of six of your classes, and you may not move on to the 12th grade."

Lyndsey shrugged "so, why do you care, you have your golden child, i am just leftovers. Just let me drop out"

"How can you think that, we love you both equally, but we are not happy with you young lady." Her mother said her face looking genuinely concerned.

"We have also gotten calls from the neighbors saying that you sometimes go out, not getting home till three in the morning. Drunk." Her father practicably spat the last word.

"Yeah you love us the same alright, too bad that isn't very much," Lyndsey said coolly, "and yeah sometimes i go out and drink, but why do you care, when you are at home you are usually drunk. I am just following the good example my parents give me. Spend as little time here as i can, and when i do get drunk enough not to remember."

"That is enough young lady, no more skipping school, no more sneaking out of the house, and you will bring up your grades." Her father yelled "if you are not at least two grades higher in each of your classes by the end of this semester you are out of this house. Do you hear me young lady?"

"Loud and clear" Lyndsey said dryly.

They continued drilling her about the things they didn't like about her. Her hair, her style, her boyfriend, anything that didn't fit in with there perfect Stepford world.

Joe sighed as he heard their parents barrate without mercy his sister. He knew he could get in trouble or regret what he was going todo but after taking a deepbreath and walked downstairs.

"Hey parents of the year." As always his witty sarcastic sense did a opening to a comment.

"I'll do the parental job of tutorin her. Since none of you two have the time and or patience to say no to a silly board meeting to ever have any interest. When we do something right. Only when we do something wrong." Joe smiled politely at both of them and did a humble bow.
"Thank you, thank you. I'll be here 'till I go away to Harvard. And before you start. Save your congratulations. Someone who actualy cares beat you to it. Now if you please. Leave My Sister Alone. He spoke as he stood between his parents and his sister.

Standing Lyndsey put her hands on her brothers waist to hold herself steady. She bit the back side of his arm, like she used to when they where kids, to show him that she was not happy that he stepped in. She grabbed her shoes and bag and left the room with out her parents permission.

"I am serious young lady" her father shoued after her the threat was aimed at Joe as well. He had taken the responseability to help get her grades up upon himself.

Stomping up the stairs wasn't easy with out big shoes to stomp with but she managed. In her room she through her stuff on the floor and jumped on her bed, face down. She screamed as loud as she could into her pillow, letting out the stress that acumulates wher she is aound her parents.

Joe winced as he was bitten. He shook his head instantly regretting his offer. "Wow what am I five? Sheesh. This family is nuts. Next life I'm a squirrel at least I'll eat nuts. Bazzing." He went up the stairs and made it up the top of them infront of his bedroom door. "Hell starts tonight! You need to raise them grades." He frowned and saw the cat on his bed. He got on the bed beside it. "No bitting me." He narrowed his eyes at the cat before he started petting it gently.

Lyndsey sighed, and pushed herself up from her bed. She walked across the hall to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Her makeup was smeared and he eyes where blood shot from crying. After she stared at her reflection for a few minutes, she decided to wash her face and head up to her brothers room. First she went back to her room and changed into her pajamas, a baggy pair of flannel pants and a tank top. She slowly walked up the stairs and stopped at her brothers door. He was on his bed petting Mint, she gave him a small smile then walked in and sat next to him on his bed. "You didn't have to do that" she said bringing her knees up and wrapping her arms around them. "Wanna watch a movie still?"
