A Dragons Revenge

Trisha shook her head as she wasn't one to actually go see the play as she liked what she usually saw in her own head as to what each character looked like and how they reacted to one another. Strangely enough it was something she did quite often while reading plays or books. Her imagery on characters were rather nice way for her to relax. Though as she started to finish up the plate she heard him speak of poems now as she heard of Allen's works. "Robert Frost his my favorite" she said to him as she thought of the many different poems from him.

"Can't say I ever read any of his work. I might have but I can't remember." he said smiling apologetically, "Which of his poems is your favorite maybe if I hear a line I can place whether or not I have read them." he said shrugging off her answer to his offer about the play. He couldn't begrudge her that he preferred how things looked in his head and even the best actor had trouble doing justice to the character he or she portrayed. He took a drink as he waited to hear her recite the poem or merely name it his eyes took her delicate features but found a hidden strength in her bearing that he wondered if any one saw it.

Trisha was shocked he hadn't heard of Robert frost though in truth he was a new up and coming poet so she guessed maybe he hadn't gotten any of his books yet. "The Road Not Taken is my favorite" she said as she put down her fork and soon started to recite the entire poem.
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. "

Finishing she picked up her drink and took a few sips before picking up a piece of bacon and taking a bite like she hadn't just quoted poetry. She truly did have a brilliant mind that many over looked in her people. She always strove to know as much as she could.

"Hmm must be new." Alec said after awhile of trying to place the poet, as she had recited he had listened completely focused on her. He finished his breakfast and took his plate to the washing bin which he had yet to fill, "When your done we'll go." he said as he left her to finish her meal. He went to his room and pulled on his armor and belting on a sword which had been his fathers, he grabbed two traveling cloaks and his pouch of money and waited for her at the entrance to the cave. He had plans to show her more than just the market place of the nearby city, still he did not know why he was being kind to her but it felt right and he wanted to.

As she watched him finish and clean up she nodded her head as she was just about done herself. Once he was out of the room she stood and followed what he had done with the plate before going to her room and taking off the tiara that had managed to stay on her head. She was grateful to still have it as it brought her thoughts to her mother and father even her little brother. Yet as she returned to call out that she was done she looked different with her hair down and tiara gone.

He smiled at her she looked just like a beautiful woman her long hair flowing down her back and without the tiara he felt his heart spark for her. Mentally shaking himself he beckoned her to him, he wrapped the cloak about her then pulled her to him, "Hold on tightly." he said waiting for her to wrap her arms about his neck. He walked backwards toward the edge he smiled at her, "This is going to be fun." he finished as he tipped back wards and they fell. He closed his eyes reveling in the thrill of the wind whipping past them as they fell, a few minutes after they had begun the deadly plummet he began the change not completely but enough. He flipped them around as his wings opened and caught the air slowing them as he turned up soaring over the stones, his grip never faltered a he held her to him.

They cleared the mountains and the wide plains spread out before them lit by the sun, it was strange looking down at the world seeing it stretch beyond the range of your sight. He looked at her he looked more Dragon but his eyes held the thrill and love that flying always brought him. He pulled his wing in as he dove down as they passed over the moss covered ruins of a long forgotten city before he turned them in the direction of their destination. "The City of Roma." he anounced to her over the rushing wind, he dove down then flapped his wings as he landed just outside the city walls the Guards did not react in surprise for they had seen him before.

He pulled on his cloak and saluted the soldiers they bore the crest of Argenia the rival to her kingdom, "Its good you left your decoration behind." he whispered to her as he lead her through the gates. The city was alive with he hustle and bustle of daily life people walked the streets or tried to sell their wares from fish to fake gems. He lead her to a shop with a sign clearly marked with the universal symbol of Tailors, a spindle of thread and a needle. The shop was lit well and as the door opened it rung a bell which alerted the dress maker, the shop was full of plain dresses and more elegant ones modeled on simple wooden figures. The shop keep appeared and bowed to them respectfully, "Welcome, welcome how may I be of service?" the kindly old woman asked looking from Trisha to Alec.

"I'll pay for everything the lady buys." he said and then nodded to her so that she could look around and see what she wanted.

Trisha looked to him as she wasn't sure what to say or even do. Yet as he wrapped a cloak around her before pulling her into his chest holding on was easy. The hard part was when he fell backwards she held him tight her eyes shutting as her hair whipped behind them as they moved through the rushing winds. She couldn't believe what was he had done there yet as his wings came out and caught the air flying them to the city she still couldn't seem to grasp how it was. Once they landed she was shocked that they were so far from her home as she now knew just how far. The thought of getting back was no doubt impossible for her now. She didn't fight against him anyway as they landed and started into the city she stayed quiet her eyes looking about as she noticed all the shops. Once they were in the Tailor shop she was shocked when he said he would pay for whatever she wanted. "How many will I need?" she asked him as in truth she wasn't sure how much he would even be able to carry back to the cave.

"As many as you think I can transform to carry it all." Alec answered as he looked through a door that showed clothes for men. He looked at some of the clothes interested in many as he noted he would need some more soon. He quietly wandered around the store as she searched for what ever clothes she wished to buy, he still didn't understand why he was going through all this but it was starting to feel fun as well as entertaining. He soon wandered into the store of male clothes and ordered some for himself his measurements were taken and it would be some time to make the adjustments to his orders. He wandered back to the other store to check on her progress.

Trisha looked to him as she gave a sigh she knew that she needed more clothes she looked to the woman as they took her measurements to see which dresses might fit her as she then moved on to look through them. She picked out a few simple dresses of different colors. There was one that was a little more of an elegant design that was purple yet most of the colors she had used were gem colors of purples and reds a few greens but nothing big on price. She even got a few night gowns that were thick and a few that were thin depending on how the weather was that night. As she finished she had a good amount picked out though she had tried her best not to get too much.

Alec paid for the dress' and night gowns as they were wrapped up into neat parcels, he then tied them together and strapped them to his back after wrapping them in his cloak. "We don't have to leave just yet if you want to explore the city." he offered watching her, the city had many wonders other than its large market. He was smiling and genuinely being friendly as he waited for her answer, he waited there watching her looking like he had a furry leach on his back.

Looking to him as he bought the items she wasn't sure what to say. When they made their way out of the store and he spoke of not having to leave just yet she gave a thought. While she didn't need too much she really did want to find a few ribbons and a good hair brush for her hair. "Well I need . . . I few things for my hair" she said as she really didn't want to leave it down for too long.

"All right." he said, "There are few places that sell those things." he finished as he lead her through the market. The city square had a large fountain and a statue of a man on a horse that was reared up on its hind legs while the man pointed off to the south with his drawn sword. "Lord Cray Saleon first Lord of Roma and hero of the Arsengian siege of 1238." Alec explained the statue he just seemed to like pointing things out to her with her asking in a way of striking conversation on random topics. There were many booths in the square that sold items from cooked food to flowers, he passed by these and led her to a small shop that sold hair ribbons and brushes among other things. Across from it was an auction house where people bid on rare treasures nothing they had interested him so he remained with Trisha. The shopkeeper was a young woman who appeared from the back room, "Hello how can I help you?" she asked she eyed Alec appreciatively before focusing on Trisha.

Looking to him she followed though as they moved about the market it was nothing like she thought it would be. Her eyes seemed to go everywhere though as she spotted the fountain she was shocked by the figure in the middle. As he spoke up she remembered that from a book she had been reading. She gave a nod of her head as she looked it over once more before her eyes moved about again. As he led her to the next shop that they were to shop from she gave a smile seeing the hair ribbons and brushes. "I just need a few things to keep my hair up and clean" she said as her hair really was long. In her family it was something of a tradition to let it grow out. Though she did cut her bang and side strands to frame her face.

The store owner smiled, "Of course, I just got some scented soaps from the Cretian Islands and I have some beautiful ribbons and hair pins." the woman said giving Alec a longing look which he did not seem to take notice of. The store owner lead Trisha to the back of the store to look at all the Items she had for sale, this left Alec alone to sit and wait as she shown ribbon and different hair pins that were either encrusted with gems or polished Coral from the Islands. It was rare to find Cretian items in Roma it was close enough to the coast so the store owner had to have connections He sat and waited for Trisha to conclude her business as he sat twiddling his thumbs as he did.

Trisha was quite happy with all she saw. She picked mostly simple ones with colors that matched the dresses though the pins had been fun to look at and even try. As she finished she was very happy to say she was sure that things would be great. Last she got a beautiful brush and scent soaps finished with everything she moved back out to join him. "Alright finished here" she said to him with a soft smile.

"Since we're finished we can leave." he said as he lead her back toward the main gates, the trip out of the city had been much like the one within the city only now they did not stop. Once outside the gates Alec untied the cloak that contained her dress' from his back and partly transformed, he wrapped his arm about her as the other held her dress' when he flapped his powerful wings and started to rise. Taking off in his half transformed state was always awkward for Alec but soon they were off soaring back to the cave. The trip back was much more involved as he had to climb using up drafts, arriving at the cave he landed a little harder than he meant to. "I'll show you the bath when your finished putting these away he said breathing a little heavier from the flight home.

Trisha looked to him as she understood that they were ready to leave. While she had enjoyed being there as they moved out she wondered if next time they could just come there for something to eat or to relax. Still she said nothing of that as he started to transform holding her close to him she closed her eyes and let him do what he wanted. Though when they finally reached the cave she did notice how short winded he was from the trip. "I'm sorry for the weight" she said to him as she did feel bad for what was going on. Yet as he showed her to the place she could clean up she was grateful. Getting her a dress and the soaps she followed him.

He simply smiled, "It wasn't the weight its always harder flying back in this form than the other when taking off with the advantage of a ledge." he said before he lead her toward the back pass his room to a side passage just before the hidden door that led to the meadow, the passage led down into darkness. Though it may have been dark for her to him it was just dim as his pupils adjusted to the lack of light it gave the stone a stunning contrast than when he saw it in the light. This night vision came in handy when he looked for the torch, breathing fire in his human form was impossible but manipulating it was all to easy. As the torch lit it illuminated the passage but it was merely so it could light the other torches, "We have an underground hot spring." he explained when he lead her to the room in the center was a pool with tendrils of steam coming off of it. The pool was large enough that she could swim in it with shallow areas where she could stand, along the ceiling of the room were thousands of crystals that sparkled in the light of the torches and were clearly reflected in the mirror like water. In the center of the pool was a rise of stone where the water poured up from and beyond the center pool were dozens of smaller pools that the center pool over flowed into one then another till it flowed out through a gap in the stone wall.

Alec strolled around the room lighting lamps and torches till all the shadows in the room had been dispersed, "I'm afraid I don't have any towels for you to dry with but we'll pick some up on our next visit." he said as he placed the torch in his hand into a bracket before leaving her to bathe. He returned to the upper chamber and rested in his chair while she bathed, the though of her in a state of undress aroused him which confused and irritated him as he told himself she was reason his people had died and yet it did not make the thought of her any less appealing.

As he moved through the cave she wasn't sure what to think yet tried to keep her mind open to where she was going as she wanted to remember where everything was in case she wanted to go without him. Though as he open the door for her to see in she couldn't see a thing. She couldn't believe how dark it was yet as the fire started up and they started their way down the stairs. As she heard it was a hot spring she was shocked yet also very happy to hear that. "I've heard of those. Said to be really good for your health." she stated as she walked with him. Though as she finally saw the pools she was shocked at how they looked even the crystals it all blew her away as she stood there in awe of what she was seeing. "Beautiful" she said to him with a soft smile as she walked further into the room. "Thank you" she said to him as he left though he didn't have any towels she could always use her under skirt to dry off with. Undressing was a bit of a chore without help yet she managed to get out of it. Moving towards the water her hair covering most her body as she couldn't believe that she was going to get this.

She dipped into the water sighing in relief as she felt the warmth of the waters surround her. Truly it was amazing to her how it felt to have the warmth like this. Her eyes shifted close as she dunked under the water to get her entire head wet and hair. To her this was heaven on earth as she came up for air she leaned back and relaxed for a while. Though after a little while she started to wash at her hair as it always took the longest time. She spent a good hour and a half working away at getting clean though as she came out getting dry was even harder. She ringed out her hair as much as she could the hair seemed even longer as she rung it out and tried to get it dry. Once she got it as close as she could she started to put it in a long braid as while her hair was long it also was thin. Once the braid was done it hung by her knees. She gave a sigh as she still had much to do as she dried her body and got dressed she had been down there for a good two hours now. As she started up she felt as if she had over used her time down there.

Alec had not been Idle as she came up from her bath he returned from gathering water from the spring in the meadow beyond the hidden door. As it slid shit behind he saw her coming from the bath with her hair in a braid. He paused for only a moment before resuming his path to the kitchen to poor the water from the spring in a pot to begin making tea. He had also prepared the cups to pour the tea in he sat down waiting for the tea to get done.

As she saw him walking she blushed a little. "i'm sorry I took so long" she said as she followed him to the kitchen after she had put her dirty clothes in her room. She wasn't sure what to think yet as she came to sit down seeing where the two cups were as he waited. "It takes a while to wash my hair" she said as she had the braid over her shoulder at the moment.

He shrugged at her apology as it did not bother him how long she took to wash, "That's alright I like to take my time as well." he admitted as he looked over at her. "It looks good in a braid." he added while he continued to wait for the water to boil to make tea, he had meant what he said she beautiful and it had become hard not to feel attracted to her as there short time together grew ever longer. "I can not help but feel that my mother was wrong in what she taught me." he went on after a few moments of silence, "I suppose you would like me to return you home?" he asked and for some reason his voice carried a note of sadness he could not place a reason for.

(sorry been sick)

Trisha heard him speak on how he liked to take his time as well. Though as he turned the subject to the braid and how it looked she blushed and looked to the fire once more. In truth she was actually starting to like him as it was nice talking with him. Plus it seemed he was changing and that was proven when she heard what he said about his mother being wrong. "I am sorry for what happened to you and your people . . . I think it was wrong as well" she said to him as she gave a soft smile to him. "Well . . . ." she stopped thinking on it, while she wanted to go home she knew that she would never be able to really get such an opportunity like this again. "We don't have to right away . . . in truth I've never been out of the castle before this." she said with a sigh.

He smiled when she said she did not have to go back just yet, "Then I'll make this a very fun visit for you." he said as he looked thoughtful for a moment. When he looked back at her he looked rather pleased with the idea in his head, "I know of a village which is hosting a summer festival if you would like to attend it with me?" he offered and asked. Alec felt like a little boy talking to the girl he liked as he asked her to attend the festival with him, he hoped he had not seemed to forward from his understanding of some princess' they were not up for mingling with the common folk. He felt she was different she wanted to see the world and he intended to show it to her after all no one should spend their life in a tower, so he waited for her response feeling his heart pound in his chest as he did.

Trisha gave a soft smile as she heard that he would make the visit nice from now on. Though as he made the offer of the summer festival she blushed before thinking on it. "I believe that would be nice" she said to him with a soft smile. In truth she couldn't wait for a chance to really get to know him. "You know . . . I really am sorry . . . for what happened to your people." she said to him as she looked to her cup she just didn't know how to make it any better for him. "Maybe your not the only one left in the world just around here?" she asked hoping he wasn't truly alone.
