Breathless Press is pleased to announce the following calls are open and seeking submissions. For formatting guidelines, please visit our webpage. If you are ever worried whether or not your manuscript will fit our needs, please send it along regardless. We are very open minded and all we ask is that your story (except for our non-fiction based Reflections line) have romance or romantic elements. And don't worry YA authors, we have a special call/announcement for you too!
Anthologies: The following anthologies are open and actively seeking submissions. Even though they have a deadline, please submit your work as soon as possible due to the fact that spots are limited and tend to fill quickly.
{Just Opened!} Ad-Dick-tion Anthology: Stories must be under 10k, have a heat rating of at least 3, be m/m (gay) orientated (m/m/f is fine as long as the two males have sex or a relationship together and not just with the female) and be original stories. There is no other theme besides being m/m. The anthology will consist of 10 stories each with a royalty of 4% of net sales. No single author shall have more than 2 stories in this anthology.
Deadline: October 31st, 2012.
{Almost Full!} Crimson Anthology: Stories must be under 10k, have a heat rating of at least 3, and be original stories. There is no other theme besides having something to do with vampires. The anthology will consist of 10 stories each with a royalty of 4% of net sales. No single author shall have more than 2 stories in this anthology.
Deadline: Jul 31th, 2012.
{M/F Only Still Looking!} Serviced Anthology: Stories must be under 10k, have a heat rating of at least 3, and be original stories. There is no other theme besides having something to do with the army, military, navy, or air force as well as being romantic/erotic in nature. We will be doing two a year, one with a focus on m/m stories, the other on m/f stories. The anthology will consist of 10 stories each with a royalty of 4% of net sales. * Rising above abuse
* How you made the choice to live an alternate lifestyle (BDSM, GBLT, polygamy, etc is highly sought after at this time)
* How a "handicap" or "disability" entered your life or affects your life
* Culture clash stories (Perhaps a comical recounting of how moving to a new area brought about quite a few new experiences or overcoming the older generations expectancy to achieve a lifestyle you desire)
Special Call: Sometimes we have special calls for submissions that aren't quite anthologies, and therefore need to be larger than 10k. They will be released during a specific month according to the theme.
{Only 4 slots left!} Hot Shifters: Our Hot Shifters are published for October. We will be releasing 8 stories in October all revolving around the shifters. This can be wolf, lion, panther, etc. Stories must be more than 10k with a heat rating of 2 or more.
Deadline: June 30th *Due to an increased need for Shifter stories, we have extended the deadline. Please ignore the deadline on the website as June 30th is the most accurate deadline.

March 2013 Submission Calls for Breathless Press
Anthologies are a great way to break into the publishing world. They are also a fabulous way of exposing yourself to readers who might never have picked you up otherwise. Here are the anthologies currently open at Breathless Press!
Ravaged Anthology: Must have shifters of some kind, 10k words or less, heat rating of at least 3 (Explicit love scenes with graphic or strong language.). Open February 1, 2013 Closes July 30, 2013
Serviced Anthology (m/m): Must be military/army/navy/air force/police/paramedic/fireman AND m/m orientated, 10k words or less, heat rating of at least 3 (Explicit love scenes with graphic or strong language.). Open January 1, 2013 Closes June 30, 2013
Our Special Calls are so much fun. They are not an anthology. Each story is a stand-alone with its own cover and release date. We're really excited to our announce our newest Special Call:
October 2013 is Dead Man Walking month. We want all your horrific (but sexy) stories surrounding Zombies. Whether your hero/heroine is part of the walking dead, or is running from the brain munching packs, we want to see your stories! Stories must be greater than 10k words and a heat rating of at least 2 (Monogamous couples. Infrequent loves scenes with no graphic language.). Submissions open January 1st and close June 30th 2013.
December 2013 is Holiday Cheer month. We are looking for stories that will be sure to melt the coldest of nights. Stories must be greater than 10k and a heat rating of at least 2 (Monogamous couples. Infrequent loves scenes with no graphic language.). Submissions open March 1st and close July 31st 2013.
As always, we also have a vast array of lines to choose from. Right now, we are actively seeking submissions for all of our lines, but there are a few kinds we'd love to see subs for. Romance: Suspense / Comedy / Chick-lit/ Sweet Romance (Heat rating: Sweet Confections) The managing editor had the following to say about this line: "I am really craving small towns and natural disaster stories that end up in romance."
Naughty Nursery Rhymes: These fun, sexy stories can be based off of lines from a favorite childhood nursery rhyme or a retelling of a fairytale. Even if the story has already been done, we still want to see your version of it. Remember, no two authors have the same voice, and whether it be Red Riding Hood or Mother Goose, we want to hear her tale your way.
Reflections Line: This non-fiction line is the only one exempt from having to revolve around romance. We are currently interested and seeking the following:
