Indian Summer ( wolvenrogue and Sweet Angel Jocelyn)

Cheyenne blushed a bright red. "Perfect." She said as she climbed in. "So much for keeping it a secret. We are going to be separated soon..." She predicted, sure that her grandmother was going to keep them apart.

"Well lets get a shower and go face the music", Grey said. They showered and got dressed and went out to see Gramma. She was sitting in the den and Grey took Cheyenne by the hand and they walked in the den together and sat down on the loveseat. "I was wondering if you too were going to get up," she said. "I made up the bed with fresh sheets, since it appears you won't be needing it Cheyenne" she said with a knowing smile. "Looks like you two got together after all. I was wondering what was keeping you." Tke good care of her Grey Rabbit, or I'll skin you alive, and you know I can!" Grama said laughing.

Cheyenne was shocked by what the woman said. She knew, and approved? How weird was that? "Grey is very good at taking care of me..." She offered lamely. Cheyenne had to wonder if she was still dreaming, if their grandmother was completely okay with their sleeping together.

"Well its obvious you two don't know the family secret yet. So let me tell it to you. I met your Grampa when I was 16, and had Cheyennes Dad, when I was 17. A year later I had your Dad Grey Rabbit, and Grey Owl, your grampa was my cousin, so you'll see no judgement from me. I have a wondrful family from him and I had 40 happy years of marriage before he died last year. Yes he was my cousin, but what was really important was he was my love, and my best friend. He was there when I was hurting and there when we had fun. You two have that and I can see it in how you are around each other. If you have any trouble with your parents, you just come see me. You shouldn't, they know better. They would never tell you, but I just did." She got up and kissed them both, and said "aren't you two hungry?"

Cheyenne blinked at her grandmother's explanation. It had happened to her? That concerned Cheyenne a little bit. But then, she thought about it, and it was more likely if someone wanted to be with someone of the same heritage, especially for them, they'd need to look closer to home. "I'm not very hungry, Gramma. But you two should go eat." She said, giving a shaky smile.

Grey was beginning to be concerned, Cheyenne, had not eaten in 24 hours and was still not hungry. "whats the matter sweety?" he said. "you haven't eaten in 24 hours. What can I get for you that you would eat?"

Cheyenne smiled and caressed Grey's cheek. "I'm just waking up, honey. I can't really eat when I'm just waking up." She told him. "I'll eat in a while. You go. Eat. I'll take care of myself when I'm hungry."

Grey ate a sandwhich quickly and was back at her side. She didn't seem herself and he was concerned. "How about a nice quiet walk he said. The weather is nice we walk down to the beach and just stroll, how does that sound? Maybe watch the sunset?"

Grey took her hand, said goodnight to Gramma, and lead her out of the house. As they got to the road, he said "What's the matter sweety? I want to know. We're out here by ourselves." He walked with her and just listened. He held her hand lovingly as they walked.

Cheyenne shook her head. "Nothing." She said. "I've just got an awful immune system. most of the time, I'm sick, and usually, it's worse than other people." She shrugged. "It's going to happen." She smiled at him. "It's going to happen a lot."

Grey was still worried, but he wrapped an arm around her and they walked down to the beach. They kicked off their shoes and and walked along the sand down by the water. "I can't believe our Gramma can you? How cool. I wonder if she is right about our parents? She seems to think everything will be alright." He kissed her and stopped, looking in her eyes.

Cheyenne smiled up at her boyfriend and nodded. "I'm still wondering if I'm dreaming." She confessed. "But, hell." She said as she kissed him sweetly. "If they don't care, then we don't have to hide our dating." She put in. She ran her hands over his arms and kissed him again.

As the sun began to dissapear over the water, They sat down to watch. Kissing each other. " The only thing more beautiful than that is you," Grey said. He helped her up from the sand and they walked back to the house arm in arm.

Cheyenne smiled up at Grey when he complimented her and the sunset. "Awe, I love you, too." She said softly, kissing him. Once at the house, Cheyenne made a B-line to the kitchen to make herself something to eat. She'd been telling the truth, when she woke up more, she was hungry.

Grey followed her to the kitchen, glad to see her finally eating. He made himself a snack also and sat down with her to eat. As they sat there eating his grand mother's word's ran through Grey's head. "I had Cheyenne's dad at 17 and your dad a year later" Cheyenne was 16 now and would be 17 in November. The ide scared him at first, but as he thought about it they idea just felt good.

"Thinking about what Gramma said. She had your Dad at 17, and my dad a year later. You'll be 17 in a month. That could happen to us. We've done nothing to stop it. It scared me at first, now somehow I think it would be wonderful. Have you thought about it?"

"Yes, I know, and thats the scary part, but in a way it would be so beautiful, and Gramma did alright. We would make it work, don't you think? mean it might be too late any way, are you on the pill? We didn't do anything else to stop it."

Cheyenne swallowed and pushed away from the table. "Stop talking like that!" She said, shooting to a stand. Suddenly the room felt too hot. In truth, when she'd been throwing up the night before she'd been thinking about it. And she was horrified. Things would change so much if she were pregnant. "Just stop, Grey." She said a bit softer. "Please."

"I'm sorry Cheyenne" he said giving her a hug. "Why don't we buy you a test kit so we will know, and won't have to worry anymore. What do you think?"

Cheyenne shook her head and pushed away. "No way." She said firmly. "I'm not pregnant. There is no reason to take a test. And if you keep harping about this then no more sex!" She said, turning and walking right out of the house.

"I'm sorry", he said following her outside into the dark. "Do you want to walk a little more, he said, the moon is full, and its a beautiful night." He took her hand and waited with her while she decided what to do. She looked upset still so he hugged her to him and tried to comfort her. He knew in his heart that sooner or later thay would need to find out, but he decided that since he would be happy either way, he wouldn't mention it again and leave that up to her. For now he would go on as if it wasn't an issue at all.

Cheyenne glared at the man as he took her hand. "Give it up." She said, keeping to her spot. "I really don't want to take a walk." She said, though she let him hug her. "I don't want to talk to you about that." She told him. "I mean it." She warned him.
