She gasps as she finds herself soon tugged right up close and very personal with his body. Her cheeks flush bright red even though he cannot see it with his eyes closed. A moment of panic washes over her as she tries to look around and attempt another form of escape if she could.

His arm loosens from around her waist after a moment. He slowly begins stirring which makes his arm move as it comes to his face. He blinks as he suddenly realizes her body is pressed against his. He slowly swallows before talking. "Kiana are you awake?"

Not sure exactly how to go about this current situation, she quickly tried to weigh the options. She could tell him the truth and suffer the embarrassment of him having pulled her so close to his body in his sleep even as she had attempted to leave the bed. Option two was to close her eyes and pretend she was still asleep. Thinking quickly, she felt it a better option to go with the latter, closing her eyes before he could realize she has been awake and not saying a word to let him think otherwise of her.

He smiles as he leans over touching her cheek as he sees her eyes are closed. He leans in giving her a soft kiss on the cheek before he starts to ease himself from the bed trying to keep his wound from being hurt again. He moves to his bags grabbing up another shirt as he tosses it on to his shoulder turning to watch her still.

It was hard to pretend she was still sleeping when he was kissing her cheek but she somehow kept herself still. It was even harder to stop herself from scolding him about getting out of bed when he was hurt. But she bit her tongue and let him go about his business. She cracked her eyes open slightly to see what he was up to. When she caught him glancing back, watching her, she shut it tight again. A few moments later she casually rolled over, trying to make it seem like she did it within her sleep.

He keeps his shirt on his shoulder hesitant about trying to slip it on with his wound still so fresh. He swallows as he watches her roll over smiling softly. He slips over to the bed making sure she is covered by the sheet. He moves outside the tent disappearing for a few minutes before returning with two plates of food. He sets her plate down on the small table beside her reaching out to shake her softly. "Kiana. Its time to wake up."

She groaned a little, ever the little actress, as she turned over and opened her eyes. "What are you doing up and about?" she asked before sitting up and standing to take his arms and direct him to sit on the cot in her place, "You are hurt. Bed rest if not only needed but required. You'll only reopen it and bleed again if you are not careful."

He smiles as she sits up directing him to sit on the bed once more. He looks up into her eyes as he lifts the food plate up to her. "I was just trying to get you some food Kiana. I didnt think you would be so upset at me for that." He smiles as he keeps the plate held up to her as if trying to placate her with the food. "I promise Ill rest."

Her mouth did water at the smell of the food and she could not resist the allure of it as she licked her lower lip slightly, "You are forgiven this one time..." she said as she took the plate and moved to sit upon the cot, leaving space between them. She dug into it almost at once when her but his the bed. After some of the food was into her system, she directed her words towards him as he sat next to her, "I could have gone and gotten it you know. And after this I will be doing that. You need to lay down for at least two days to let it at least START to seal up."

He waits till she begins eating before he starts eating his own food once more. He takes a deep sip from his canteen watching her for a moment. "I figured you wanted to sleep is all Kiana. Im sorry if I upset you." He reaches over to take her hand kissing it softly as a way to apologize. He offers her a gentle smile as he continues to eat.

She eyed him a little wearily as he kissed her hand. She returned a moment to her food, then paused. At last she turned her face to him, "Why do you do that?" she asked rather straight out. "Why do you kiss my land like I was some fine lady and pretty much treat me the same way overall. I'm no lady. I wasn't before I joined the temple and I'm certainly not now." Her brow wrinkled a little in thought. "Who exactly are you? You have better manners then a common solider."

He blinks slightly taken back by her quest as he thinks it over for a few minutes. "I do it because its what you deserve Kiana. And as for who I am I believe I told you that. Im nothing more then a soldier is all." He starts to stands up from the cot setting his food to the side as he grabs the canteen taking a deep drink.

"But you said you were going to be let go soon," she wasn't pay so much attention now to her food since there was enough of it in her belly to keep her satisfied. "So you won't be a solder forever. Who are you beyond all this? You have more manners then any man I have ever known, wither I deserve them or not. Where did you learn them from?"

He sighs softly as he sets his plate to the side. "My family is minor nobility on the plains inland further. I was called up to fight for the king despite the fact I didnt want to. My father said it was a great duty to fight for my kingdom." He sighs again as he stands fully looking at her.

She had somehow expected such a revelation to end up coming from him. There was no doubt to her from the start that a man of such manners couldn't have some kind of nobility within his blood. If she had expected such a revelation, why did it still hurt her a little bit inside to hear him say it aloud? Her own inner reaction stunned her a bit but she seemed casual about it on the outside. "I had a feeling it was something like that. You're to nice to be anything less."

"I havent even told the general leading the army who I was." He turns back to her studying her face. "I guess this changes your opinion of me and makes it worse doesnt it?" He starts to try and tug his shirt on but pauses midway through it as he feels the cut stretch making him double over. "Ohh that still hurts."

She quickly put the plate down and went to him, taking over the task of getting his shirt on so that he would not need to strain himself. It would have been better for him to keep his shirt off, but he seemed stubborn enough about getting it on again she didn't think she could stop him. "It does, but not how you think. If your men knew, I guess they would call you a spoiled boy or something like that. I don't see that. I still still the man that defended me against two brutes. I guess it has changed a bit, but only made me understand you a bit better."

He smiles at her as she helps him get the shirt on. He stands slowly as he watches her reaching his hand to touch her cheek slowly. "How does it make you understand me better Kiana? I have to admit that you are quite a puzzle to me that I cant quite figure out at times." He smiles as his eyes move over her face studying it enjoying the soft lines of her face. "Why did you become a priestess?"

She supposed it was only fair to tell him a bit more about her. He had shared with her after all. "I was born here in this village. When I was 12, a horrible sickness spread like wildfire through the place. It killed almost half the people. I lost both my parents and one of my brothers to it. I was taken in by the priestesses at the temple while my remaining brother was able to find an apprenticeship with the blacksmith. We were both lucky to have survived and even luckier to find homes in the aftermath of it all." She paused a little. "I have not seen my brother since before you all attacked. He is likely dead now as well."

He nods slowly as he listens to her. "I know of the sickness you mention. It hit villages all over the kingdom." He takesher hand again caressing it softly as he moves to the cot. "I guess I should lay back down before my nurse gets angry at me again." He smiles looking at her as he saws the word nurse. "If youd like I can see if your brother is still alive."

She gave him a slight smile. That kind of smile that one had when they were being much more serious then actually happy, "If he is not dead then he has been sold into slavery as I have. It would be worse knowing he was out there somewhere where I could not see him then just believing him to be in heaven with the rest of my family. It's best I just hold onto that thought." She collected his plate and hers from the bed, "Yes, rest before you reopen the wound."

He lays back on the bed watching her collect the plates. "Ill let you go on believing that then." He closes his eyes letting his thoughts drift for a few moments before opening them. "When I decide to leave will you be alright with riding just one horse with me?" He turns his head looking at her as he watis for her response.

"We won't have much choice.... I don't know how to ride a horse," she told him as she used what was left of the shirt they had ripped up for his bandaged to clean of the plates. "Riding horses it not exactly something they teach within the temple. I use to ride with my father but never on my own and it's been years even since that." She paused and turned, leaning a little against the table, "You don't have to take me with you.... why would you?"

He pauses again a he turns to face her slowly. "If I don't take you the men in the camp might come after you again. And I want to take you with me because I enjoy your company Kiana." He smiles at her as he reaches out to take her hand

She didn't understand where all this admiration for her was coming from. Through all else, they were still complete and total strangers to one another. Well maybe not totally. They had at least shared one or two details about their personal lives that no one else around them seemed to know. It was a small tie that bound them, but at least it was something. She only grasped his hand a moment, squeezing it as she had when he held her hand in the ally way before she let her hand slip from his, "Rest. You need more of it." The tent was a little messed with his blood and things tossed about from the chaos of their frantic rush to tend to him. She went about cleaning things up.
