Lund grasp on to his horse for a moment as he checks the wound. "Ill be alright for now Angus. We need to find the girls." He turns his horse towards there trail spurring his horse to its fastest trying to catch them. "We need to make sure that they dont get to far or else they might not realize who we are." He holds his chest feeling the blood running down his chest as they ride following the trail of the cart.

"Why are you stopping?!" Kiana asked Nessa as the horses slowed and stopped.

Nessa took her arm and pulled at her, urging hero out of the back of the cart, "The horses cannot take much more of this pace. It is best we leave the cart and hide. It is what Angus told me to do. Come. We must wait for them." They moved about 20 feet into the woods away from the cart before they found a tree with nice leafy branches. Deciding it was a good hiding spot, Nessa helped boost up Kiana before Kiana then pulled her up with her. Together the climbed up until the leaves hid them both well. Together, they waited in silence for some sign of the men.

He winces slightly as he presses his hand into the cut shaking his head. Lund throws a glance over his shoulder making sure they arent being followed. He spurs his horse trying to ride faster. He begins calling Kiana's name as they enter the woods. He skids his horse to a stop as they get to the wagon. He jumps from his horse stumbling slightly as he checks the wagon. "They got this far safely at least."

"Nessa!" Angus called into the surrounding woods, looking about. "Kiana! It's us! Come out! We were not followed! Nessa!"

"Angus!" Nessa's voice replied and he looked in the direction it had come from. He turned to Lund and held his hand up, "You stay here lad, I'll bring them back..." he told him before setting of to help them down from the tree. A moment later Kiana came running from the woods to Lund's side, her eyes instantly catching sight of his blood covered shirt, "Oh Gods! Lund! It was you that was struck! Oh no!" Instant took over and she ripped his shirt open to look over it. The healer in her spoke orders at once, "Angus held him into the cart so I may tend him."

Lund turns hearing Nessa's voice. He smiles softly as he sits down leaning against the carts wheel. He glances up seeing Kiana run from the woods. "Its just a scratch darling. He was abit faster then I thought." He grabs her hand glancing over her body quickly. "Are you alright?" He touches her cheek pulling her in kissing her softly. "I dont think Ive been so worried about you." He seems to be ignoring his own wound more worried for her. "That was a very nice move with the tent by the way."

She in turn completely ignores his praise of her and focuses only on his wound. "Even a little wound can eventually fester and take a man's life Lund. You cannot ignore a slash like this. Angus..." she turned looking up and him, her stern look in her eyes showing she still expected her orders to be performed.

Angus laughed a little and reached down to help Lund up, "You little lass has eyes command. And she is right lad. We still need to travel a bit further today before we rest and until she has you bandaged up, it's best you not ride your horse for now. Ride with your lady in the cart. We'll tie your horse to the cart." By then Angus had him at the back of the cart and was ready to help him up. Kiana was already in the cart again, digging for her supplies.

Lund glances down at his chest once more. His fingers brush against it slowly. "Kian...Kiana its not that bad." He reaches out to touch her cheek abit surprised as Angus helps him to his feet. "She is beautiful as well Angus and lovely to have around."

Lund starts to protest having to be in the cart but nods slowly. He slips into the cart sitting against the side as he closes his eyes. He reaches out for Kiana's hand wanting to touch her skin softly. "Kiana please dont worry so much." He sighs softly knowing she will worry. "Angus Ill need my sword at least." He holds out his hand wanting to have his sword close at hand at least.

Angus goes to his horse to get his sword for him while Kiana squeezes his hand back but then removes it from his grasp as she gets to work, carefully pulling his shirt off him and gets to work on cleaning and tending his wound, "I worry. That's what I do. When you are hurt, what else am I suppose to do?"

"You best just let her worry if she wants lad," Angus told him and he handed Lund his sword to keep in the cart with him, "I know if it were me, is letting her worry got so much tender attention from her... I'd let her for a bit." Her smiled before he went about getting Lund's horsed tied to the back of the cart then he to mounted up and started to lead the way onward, riding beside Nessa as she drove the cart. "We can get a ways further still before we much camp for the night..."

Kiana dabbed a cloth around his slash and then crushed up some of her herbs to spread over the cut. "I thought you were dead..." she told him as they had some time together in the cart to just be together.

He laughs at Angus' words nodding. "I do like the attention she gives me but she does give me a tongue lashing for getting myself hurt." He smiles feeling her hand squeeze his breifly. He takes the sword from Angus laying it down next to his leg. He glances down watching her work on his cut enjoying the way her hands move when she performs her healing arts.

"Id have died before I let them get to you Kiana." He reaches up with his hand not realizing there is blood on the fingertips as he touches her cheek. "I wouldnt let any of them harm you as long as I draw breath. Thats a promise." He then closes his eyes feeling abit sleepy as he goes quiet to let her finish her work.

She could see his sleepy look in his eyes before he closed them and she smiled warmly, "Shhhhh," she cooed to him and softly rubbed her hands over his skin to sooth him a bit more so he would let the sleep over take him. "Rest Lund. I'll be right here by your side the whole time. Just rest a little while for me sweet. Please?"

Lund smiles softly as he feels her hands rubbing as she tries to sooth him. He nods as he reaches up with a hand and takes hers. "As long as your still here when I wake up." He opens a single eye giving her a wink. He lays his head back once more his hand staying on hers till he falls asleep making it easy for her to take it back.

Angus glances back hearing the words between the two as he let's nessa drive the wagon still. He leans over whispering for only nessa to hear. "That boy has it bad for her darlng."

Nessa glances back and sees Kiana smiling down at Lund, her hand still in his as she light stroked it with her thumb. She looked to Angus and smiled, leaning to whisper to him in reply, "I believe the girl has it just as bad thought she does not realize it yet."

The group traveled until the sun started to set in the distant sky. Kiana had long tended to Lund's wound and had him lightly bandaged up. She remained at his side afterward, holding his hand while he slept. When they stopped Angus informed the women that it was best they not to set up a full camp this night. They were likely out of danger but just to be safe it was best to make it so if the needed to leave in a rush they could. Angus set of to hunt for dinner while Nessa was getting the site prepped for cooking dinner. Kiana worked to gently wake her warrior, "Lund.... time to get up..."

Lund groans softly as Kiana begins working to wake him up. He jerks up for a moment thinking something was wrong before he glances around taking a slow breath. His head turns back towards Kiana smiling softly as he touches her cheek. "I thought for a moment something was wrong darling." He leans in kissing Kiana softly on the lips. He stretches himself out slowly groaning.

Lund slips out of the wagon landing on his feet easily. He turns back to her offering to help her down from the wagon. He glances over at Angus. "How far have we come today do you think?" He gently helps Kiana down looking into her eyes as he pushes the hood back from her head. "There thats better."

Kiana was a bit amazed how he helped her down as if she were no lighter then a feather. Her hands still rested upon his upper arms even as she looked up at him. Her hair didn't tumble wildly from her cloak as he lowered the hood but stayed at least somewhat tamed. Looking up into his eyes, she had to smile a little at the strength she saw in them. Not being able to help it, she wrapped her arms around his waist and gently hugged him, her head resting upon his chest.

Angus in the meantime was prepping his bow and arrows for the hunt ahead of him, "I need to look more at the maps after we eat but from what I can tell we have gotten a bit further then we had originally planned to. We should reach the start of the mountain pass by tomorrow evening then start up the pass the morning after."

Lund smiles softly as he seems abit surprised by the hug at first. He wraps his arms around her hugging her tightly. His head comes down kissing her forehead softly. "I hope I didnt disturb you to much when I was sleeping darling." He tilts her head up kissing her softly. He breaks the kiss turning towards Angus as he speaks of maps.

He nods softly as he keeps an arm around Kiana softly. "Is there anything you need me to do Angus? I feel alot better since I rested during the day." His fingers ease along Kiana's back stroking softly. He turns to the horses patting his owns neck softly. He turns back to Kiana still smiling as he runs his fingers through her hair softly.

Angus just shook his head, "Why don't you help the lasses set up camp. We won't pitch the tent we have left but we can put out the bed rolls and some blankets near the fire." He was off into the woods then, leaving them to set up the camp for the night.

Kiana looked a little sheepish at the mention of their being only one tent left now. "I'm sorry I cost us a tent. I couldn't think of anything else to slow them down besides that." She pulled away and climbed back into the cart again looking for the bed rolls Angus spoke of.

Lund smiles as he grabs out a couple of bedrolls leaving his sword laying in the back of the cart for now. A soft laugh comes from him as he turns cupping her chin softly. "Darling if you hadnt thought of that they would have had you for sure." He leans in kissing her seeming to ignore Nessa's presence as he deepens the kiss slowly. "I for one am glad you thought it up. Very quick thinking on your feet."

He carries the two bedrolls setting them up close to the fire. He straightens them before heading back to the cart grabbing the next two out and setting them up on the opposite side of the fire. "Do you need to clean my wound again Kiana?"

She shook her head as she came forth and sat on one of the rolls near the first that Nessa had just gotten lit. "It should be fine until morning. It was not as bad as I originally though I will admit. I will clean and change the bandage in the morning before we set out again. You should be able to ride your horse once more." Nessa had set up some pans to make ready for the cooking ahead of them. "I will cook the dinner Nessa. You drove the cart all this way. You should rest for a bit."

"Bless you dear," she said as she sat on the roll across from her. "Let's just hope now that Angus brings us back something hearty to eat."

He nods softly as he retrieves his sword from the back of the cart. He takes some oil and a rag from his saddle bags as before sitting down in front of the fire. He begins cleaning the sword making sure it hasnt suffered any damage during the fight. "I have to admit Nessa that was some fine driving that you did." He turns his head to smile at her as his fingers continue to work at polishing the sword.

His work on the sword continues for a few moments but his eyes repeatedly end up on Kiana watching her move a soft warm smile forming on his face every time this happens.

There was light conversation among them all for awhile before Angus returned, two rather nice sized rabbits in his hand. "One for us and one for you two," he said directing the words towards Lund a moment before he tossed the kill into his lap. "I killed it, the ladies will cook it... so you clean it lad."

"That does sound fair," Kiana said with a nod as she rose up and went to the cart, bringing a few herbs with her. "Best thing about these herbs, not all of them heal. Some make a bland meal taste like it's been roasting all day..."

Lund laughs softly as he takes the two rabbits. He smiles at Kiana blowing her a kiss as he begins to clean the fur off of them. His work his quick and neat so it isnt long before he has the two rabbits ready to roast over the fire. He carries them over to Kiana presenting them with little fan fare. "I believe all they lack now darling is a few of your herbs and the fire." He leans in placing a quick kiss on her lips before letting her take the rabbits.

He slips over to the cart grabbing out a few maps before carrying them over to Angus spreading them out. His finger jabs down at where he believes them to be. "Do you think we should push the cart again tomorrow or pace it again?"

Kiana just smirked at his little signs of affection. She was slowly getting use to them with him but she was not fully comfortable with showing those signs back, even with just a few of them around at the time. Stuffing the herbs into the rabbits, she put a bit on the outside as well before she put them both on the roasting spear and got to work, talking over the first with Nessa, whom had pull out one of Kiana's other dresses to work on while they waited.

Angus and Lund were a few feet away, Angus looking over the map. "I think we have gone far enough today that we will not need to push the cart to hard tomorrow. As long as we leave at first light and travel until last light. We should reach the base of the pass by then."

Lund nods as he taps the map studying it slowly. "Three days to get through those passes." He sighs as he starts to fold up the map rubbing at his face softly. He glances over at Kiana before moving back to his small pallet before the fire picking up his sword once more. His fingers take up the rag polishing the blade slowly. He seems to have sensed her discomfort from earlier as he tries to give her some space wanting her to find her own ground to be comfortable with. He lifts the blade up letting his mind drift as he studies it slowly.

Kiana glanced in his direction, not sure if he was avoiding her or what really. The way he studied his sword it seemed like he was doing it not out of a necessity but as some kind of excuse. Perhaps she just looked to much into these kinds of things. Getting use to being in a relationship was complicated. She supposed that's what this was now, a relationship. It was still an odd, new thing for her.

An hour later, she declared the meat cooked and Nessa produced the plates. Slipping each rabbit in half, their was a nice chunk of meat on each of their four plates. Taking her plate and Lund's, Kiana came to him on his pallet, sitting beside him as she handed him a plate with a small smile. "You better eat this all. You were hurt and you'll need it for some extra strength."

Lund glances up ever so often to watch Kiana feeling nervous all of a sudden as he continues to clean his sword polishing it. He continues this even after the sword is well and shining. He glances up at Kiana as she approaches him carrying the plate of food for both of them. His sword slips into his sheath as he takes the plate smiling at her softly. "Thank you darling." He reaches out with his hand taking hers and kissing it. He leans in pressing his lips to her cheek softly as he turns back to his plate.

He eats the rabbit slowly watching Kiana his eyes glancing at her then away as he sees her look his way. He reaches into his saddle bag pulling out a bottle of wine. He quickly fills four glasses handing two over to Nessa and Angus. He then gives Kiana one letting his fingers brush against hers.
