"SOLD!" the auctioneer called as he pointed to the winner of the prize on the block. "Come! Collect your prize!"

The crowd all laughed heartily as the big, bulky solider made a big show out of collecting the crying woman he had just spent 20 pieces of gold to make into his new slave. She was not the only item for sale this day.

The band of warriors were on enemy ground, war waged all around. The town they gathered in the middle of was evidence enough. It was half burnt to the ground. Some sections were still a blaze. Any men that had survived the first attacks were now dead. The children had been sent away, back home were they would grow to become future solders for their armies one day. The only ones left were the women, who were being auctioned off one at a time for whatever needs the men wanted.

They ranged from widows to teens. Women who were once rich all the way down to the poorest of the poor. Which would be the next to face the bidding.

A young woman with fiery red hair was pushed up onto the makeshift stage they had built. One of the more beautiful, if not THE most beautiful, of all the prizes that had been placed up for auction yet. The men all cheered and whistled as she with her bound hands was forced to stand and take it.

"For our next.... item, we have a pretty little thing. Captured at the village temple, while she has refused to speak, it can be determined that she is one of their priestesses." He reached out and ripped at the neckline of her white, tattered dress, attempting to expose her breast, but she spit at him and pulled away, only to be pushed to her knees by her keeper. The men all laughed, "She is a feisty one, but one can assume that she's just as pure at the white he is wearing from her position in the temple. What shall the starting bid be lads?"

He stands towards the back his hand on his sword hilt as he tilts his head watching the current auction. He sighs almost in boredom as the auction finishes with another women sold for simple pleasures. He pushes himself towards the front of the crowd silently figuring out his money that he has on him from the last few raids.

His eyes widen slightly as he spots the priestess a small smile spreading across his face as he sees her spirit still intact it seems. He looks around at the other soldiers as he leans forward slightly studying the woman almost enthralled by her beauty. His hand slips into his gold pouch as he calculates an opening bid before it is even asked for from the auctioneer. He runs a hand through his short black hair as he determines to buy the girl no matter the cost.

"Ill bid five gold for the girl." He smiles as he starts the bidding looking around slowly.

At the sound of his voice, her eyes moved right to him and seemed to attempt and burn holes right into him. They were a piercing, icy shade of blue and proved, if you looked deep enough into them, that spirit she showed moments ago was only a hint of the spirit she had inside her.

"6 gold pieces!" Someone called from the back
"7 pieces!" Another
"8!"

But all the while the bidding was growing higher, her eyes still grazed into his.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He pauses as he looks down at her eyes studying her slowly. He is taken back by the piercing blue of her eyes. HIs eyes break away as he looks around the site as others chime in with their bids now.

"I bid 15 gold pieces for the priestess." He smiles at her as he raises the price so high.

He holds his sword letting the crowd absorb his bet as he waits crossing his arms over his chest waiting for the next rounds of bid to begin.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He could not hear it, but a growl of defiance came from deep in her throat as she gritted her teeth and kept on staring him down. She knew, even though the bidding was still going on. She knew that this was going to be the one to buy her and enslave her to his will. Pigs. All of them around her. Pigs.

The all seemed to think over the price, but one look at her in that white dress and knowing what more then likely lay between her legs for the winner.... "20 pieces!" someone called out.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles as he locks eyes with her enjoying the sight of the fire in her eyes. He rubs his chin as he turns hearing the bid for 20. He hesitates for a few moments as he seems to think it over even when his mind is already made up to own this maiden before him.

"30 gold pieces for the girl." He turns back letting his eyes meet hers once more.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

That stunned the crowd with a mix of laughter, awe, and stunned silence for most. Defeated, the others that had been bidding went silent. A virgin was worth a great deal, but for only a one time novelty it was not worth THAT much. Not when they could be a more experienced girl for half the price.

"Sold!" the auctioneer called out, point to the man with the deep pockets in the front of the crowd. Another man came to him, hand held out waiting for payment to be handed over. And the second that it was, the girl, hands bound tightly in rope, were handed over to him. "Enjoy..."

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles as he looks around the crowd after his bet waiting to see wait will happen. His smile brightens considerably as he hears the word sold. He reaches into his pouch quickly handing over the money to the man before reaching out to take his prize. He nods to the auctioner before turning away his bidding down for the day.

He leads the girl back towards his horse holding the rope tight as he turns his head to study her more fully now. "Whats your name priestess? Id like to know or would you prefer it if I just call you girl all the time.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She walked with her chin held high, her eyes looking straight forward as she walked, refusing to speak to him. Give him the common courtesy of an answer to his question of her name. She stayed stone faced, regal, and silent. Perhaps that was like her answer after all.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles as he leads her down into a deserted side alley before turning and pushing her into the wall just hard enough to knock the air from her lungs. "LIsten girl. I think you will find me a kinder master then half those men who were bidding on you. They wanted one thing from you." He smirks as he leans close his hand almost touching her breast. "Now what is your name girl?"

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She gave a great huff of breath as he pushed her up against the cold stone. There was so many emotions flooding though her eyes as she stared deep into his. The spirit was still there of course. Rage as well. Defiance though was the most predominate one at this very moment. It was there as she finally parted her lips to speak, "You mean to tell me that YOU do not have the same thing on your mind that every other man buying the flesh of innocent women has? And what care you of my name? You'll only call me girl or slave even if you know it."

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He growls under his breath slowly as he looks into her eyes. "You dont seem to understand do you? Just think how much harder those other men would have been with you. They wouldnt have waited on getting back to there tent before taking you. Now maiden if you would share your name with me. It would give me a small pleasure to say your name." He offers her a gentle smile as he touches her cheek slowly.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She kept on glaring right back at him, flinching at his touch, pulling her face away from him. Clearly she was thinking things over within her pretty little head and then at last she sighed, "Kiana. Happy now?"

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles almost warmly as he pats her cheek. "See now that wasnt hard?" He looks down at the ropes on her wrist. "If I cut your hands free will you try to escape?" He holds her wrist tightly as he looks into her eyes trying to gauge her reaction to the question.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

Her eyes perhaps betrayed her a moment as they glanced a little to one side, spotting a small group of his fellow solders as they carried about in horrid manners. And then, she looked back to him again, "There isn't any place to escape to..." was her only reply.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He nods slightly as he touches her cheek lightly. "As long as you behave Ill make sure you are provided for and taken care of." He gently pulls her close as a peal of thunder echoes through the air. He touches her head slowly pushing her hair back his eyes locked on to hers.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She gazed up into his eyes for a moment, time seeming to freeze. He seemed so very different compared to all the other warriors she had been faced with so far. The others all gave her little comments about how they would take good care of her and the like but it was clear that they only wanted her for one thing and pretended to use kind words to hide their true meaning. But when he said it, she actually believed him. She hoped she could believe him. It would only break her heart more then it already was. Watching her home be destroyed. Her friends and family dead or enslaved. She didn't need anything more to destroy her.

After a while, the connection between their eyes started to make her blush and she had to look away, nipping her lower lip slightly.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles as his gaze makes her look away. He reaches up to her hair pushing a strand back from her face slightly. "I promise I wont hurt you Kiana. Are you hungery?" He lifts her chin as he talks to her so he can look into her eyes smiling softly once more. His gaze looks up as the thunder repeats itself as the sky begins to darken.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She shook her head lightly, but then when she opened her lips, "A little, but only out of necessity. I have not eaten in a few days, since the attacks started. But in all honesty, I have no true appetite. I just feel sick." Which was the truth. Watching all that was going on around her, it made her sick to her stomach.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

HE nods slightly to her as he grabs her wrist making it appear rough but his grip is light. "Come let us get some place where you can rest for now.' He leads her out to a single tent opening the flap for her politely.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She followed alongside him, keeping up with him to prevent the light grip from potentially growing as harsh as it looked. As they reached the tent, she couldn't help but grow a little apprehensive. She hesitated a little at the entrance before ducking her head a little to enter into his tent, looking around.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He guides her to the small cot sitting down next to her smiling. "You can relax. I wont hurt you and no one will bother you here." He reaches down to tug his boots off watching her from the corner of his eye.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

She took the seat offered, sitting with her back straight and even though she was not this man's slave, residing in his private tent, she held her head high. Or was it just that she was super tense? "It's a bit hard to relax when on is in such an uncertain situation. I don't know who you are. I don't know what you plan to do with me, but I can assume many things based upon the circumstances of how you am I not find ourselves here."

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

He smiles slowly taking notice of her posture. "My name is Lund. And as for my plans for you well I dont really have any yet. Although you did cost me alot of gold today." He smiles as he leans over to brush his fingers over her cheek.

Re: To the Highest Bidder Goes the Prize (Chuckeles/butterfl

His touch as he mentioned how much she cost him sent a chill down her spine. A feeling of foreboding perhaps? "You did not HAVE to buy me. It seemed there were many others that would have in your place. Do not blame me for your lose of your gold...." she paused a moment before sighing, for she had to admit, "Still, I can't deny that I would have rather had you over the others who were bidding."
