The next morning when Draykon got up he was careful not to wake Brenna, he needed to get ready to meet his family. Everyone would notic him, nobody would care for her. He went to the stream and took a brisk bath in it to clean and wake up. Then he went to the pack horse which was grazing by the stream. Taking out the largest pack he opened it up to reveal a set of armor and clothes. They were fine well oiled solid black leather armor, a bit more padded and stiffer than his own battle leather. They had a red trim that matched the flow of the major arteries. A large dark blue cape attached to one shoulder, with his crimson scar the look was meant to make him appear imposing and wealthy. It was a look of wealth and affluence that he really dispised. It made him stand out, and make people actually consider him a threat, it was his fathers preference and design. The man may not have earned the nobility he had, but he most certainly took to the money and power that went with it.
When finished he pulled out the tak he had and woke Brenna up to let her eat it. He had more than enough food the previous night, and was too nervous to eat. "Come" he commaded to Brenna whe she was finished eating in a gruff voice. Taking a moment he took a deep breath, and tried to relax, but his stress was too great at the moment. Instead when Brenna came to him he picked her up placed her in the saddle then got up on himself. When there he griped her a bit more tightly than usual and moved the horses from first a walk, to a trot, and finally to a flat out run. The wind through his hair, the sound of it whizzing past him relaxing him. When he felt his stress finally recind he slowed the horses back to a fast walk, and loosened his hold on her.
Not too long after they finally got to his home, he stoped the horses at the edge of the forest and in a massive clearing stood a huge tower. Made of 10 levels, each level had 4 large balconies with a large catapault, flanking the catapaults were two massive trebuchets. Archer slits ran up the whole tower provideing positions for archers and natural light. It was an imposing structure built to withstand sieges, any troops that got in could be dealt with by well trained soldiers in small numbers. All around the tower were barracks, horse stables, and a series of masssive farmers fields. At the outskirts were small towns, it was a thriving community. When Draykon moved his horses through the towns, and farming areas people came to greet him happily, here he was back to normal getting down from his horse Draykon greeted the people in return, handing out his extra coins to the people who seemed to need it the most.
When they got closer however to the tower the people dropped back, soldiers came out in file and greeted him as well. Finally when they reached the entrance to the tower two people were ther to greet them. One was a young woman in very moderate clothing, next to her was a much older man in highly ornate clothes, in fact he looked more like a puffed up peacock than an old man. Yet under the clothes was an unmistakable strength, there was no frailty to him. Despite this all of Draykon's malice was directed at him, in fact Draykon's hand reached to his sword which he griped tightly for a moment before letting it go. "Hello father, I see you're feeling better, what ever happened to the last one?" Draykon said, in a level tone.
The man smiled at Draykon and in a cheerfull tone spoke "She got boring, I sent her to some slavers, the damn whore got pregnant, couldn't use her after that. This new one is some lesser noble's daughter, was meant for you but I knew you wouldn't mind." Directing his attention at Brenna he said "I see you got yourself a neko from the slavers. Hmmm she could be a fun one, how about you let me break her in?"
Draykon pressed Brenna closer to him in a reflexive action of protection. "How about father you leave what's mine alone." Draykon said darkly.
His fathers smile quickly faded at that comment and his tone turned dark as well "You should show some respect boy, don't forget it was I who got us here, you just taged along." With that he grabed the girls arm and took her back into the tower in an angry huff. Draykon on the other hand moved the horses to the stables where a stable boy quickly took the reins and lead the horses inside. Draykon got off the horse and lifted Brenna off as well. He leaned on the near wall and let out a great puff of air. "John, I need you to find the girl my father sold, use the gold from the treasury and buy her back, send her somewhere safe and with plenty of people. Then have the cook drug my father's wine, next have the maids ready, we're sending the girl back to her family tonight." The stable boy nodded and quickly finished taking care of the horses and left leaving Brenna and him alone.
