The New Slave

When they got there, she climbed out of the car, and she saw her parents running over to her, wrapping her up in their arms. She smiled weakly, looking up at them. She missed them so much. She shut her eyes and stayed in their arms, just wanting to come home.
Her father looked up when the man introduced himself. "Marry her?" he asked. "But she's only eighteen!"
Ari didn't protest. She didn't want to leave.

Eric then said "I also am eighteen, but I lost my girlfriend in a tragic murder. Please... I am alone, and the mob is after me. They want me dead. May I stay with you guys? I have nowhere else to go!"

Ariadne flashed him a look, and her father raised an eyebrow. "The mob? I don't know..." It seemed like too big a risk. He stroked his daughter's hair, and Ariadne wrapped her arms around him.

He explained "They'll never know. I highly doubt they'll expect a poor Russian guy like me to be hiding here in this neighborhood. If they DO come, I'll protect your daughter until my last breath."

The father raised an eyebrow. "Well, we would like some time with Ari. But I guess you can stay here, too." Ari huffed in annoyance, but smiled up at her dad, kissing his cheek. "Thanks, Daddy."
"Why don't you two come inside?" he asked, and Ari nodded and followed her father back into her home.

Ari sighed as he followed after them. She sat down on the couch in the living room, pulling her knees to her chest. She hoped he wouldn't try to rape her or anything while they were here. She could just tell her parents what he really was. They'd protect her.

He pecked her cheek and said "From now on, I'll treat you like a queen."

Ariadne looked up at him and smiled and little, though more just to give him what he wanted. "Thanks," she murmured.
It was getting late, so Ari got up and stretched. "I'll show you where you can sleep," she told him.

He followed her silently. He said "I think you'd be a good wife for me."

"Hush," she growled, leading him into the bedroom next to hers. "You can sleep in here." She hoped he wouldn't bother her tonight. She flicked on the light for his room and motioned in. "Look good to you?"

He nodded and said "Yes. Good night, my love.", shut off the lights, and fell asleep shortly after.

Ariadne waited until she could hear him snoring before she showered quickly and shut off her own lights, falling asleep in her room.

He woke up first, and kissed her cheek, and looked around for something to eat.

Ariadne stirred and smiled when he kissed her. She opened her eyes to find an empty room. Her own room. She jumped out of bed gleefully, thinking it was just a dream. When she got downstairs, she found her mom giving pancakes to the man of her nightmares, and she jumped. She sighed and sat down next to him, stabbing her fork into the pancakes in front of her.

He added "I feel your pain. Most nights, I have the same nightmare, reliving the night my parents were killed."

Ariadne huffed and shook her head, angrily stabbing her pancakes and eating them. She finished and headed up to her room, suspecting that he would follow. "What do you want?" she asked quietly.

He paused, and slowly followed her up the stairs, and told her "I'm terrible sorry about all that. Is there any other way I can make it up to you?"

Ariadne looked back at him and shook her head, clearly frustrated. She couldn't get away from him. "No," she said. "You can't force me to love you."
