The Day Before You (closed for MoonlightRomance and Josu_T)

Tim smiled into her kiss and took her hand. His mom entered and checked on Roxy as well. He took a seat next to his girlfriend. He was relieved that she was feeling ok. It would take some patience, but he figured he could wait for the doctor to return to find out how she was doing. It only took a couple of minutes for the doctor to return to the room. He placed some x-rays up so they could be seen. Tim tried to interpret them, but had a hard time. It seemed fairly clear, but he needed the doctor to explain to make sure. He sat there as he spoke directly to Roxy, giving her all the details he had. Tim just listened. He knew that whatever it was, they couldn't do much to change it. He had just one thing on his mind. They needed her medical records to show the police as proof of her father's abusive behaviour.

Roxanne smiled at his Mother when she entered the room. "I'm doing fine, Mom. I just want to get out of here." She said, knowing that Tim probably couldn't agree more. When Tim took a seat next to her she smiled and kissed him again, resting her head on his shoulder as they waited for the doctor. When the doctor came in to the room Roxanne lifted her head and looked at the x-rays he put up, her hand still in Tim's. Unlike Tim she had quite an easy time deciphering what they showed. "Eight of the twelve ribs on my right side are either cracked or broken; six of them completely broken and two cracked." She said as she looked at the doctor who nodded in agreement.

"Very good, Miss Evans." The doctor said with a smile. "You certainly do have an eye for medicine. Now, I'm not going to question you about who it was that beat up on you this badly, I'll leave that to the police but I do need to treat this. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do. I'll prescribe some strong pain killers but I want you to try over the counter things first. If the pain is still there take what I use and if the pain is still there with them, come back because I'll need to prescribe some nerve blockers." He explained. "You should stay sitting or laying with your torso still as often as you can, as broken ribs can puncture some organs if you aren't careful. You should be healed in six weeks." He explained.

Tim looked at Roxy who gave the judgement he had been considering. When the doctor confirmed it he didn't like the sound of it. He really hoped that she would be able to find pain killers that would work. One thing was for sure. He would need to be careful to avoid hurting her more. When the doctor finished giving his advice Tim adressed the necessary point. "Would we be able to get her medical record to bring to the police, because we believe there are other instances that need to be shown. If you can't give it to us, could you send it to the police?" He glanced at Roxanne and gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

The doctor looked at Tim when he spoke. "I can't give it directly to either of you, since she is still a minor that would require her parents to sign off on it and since I can see how obviously protective you are of your girlfriend, I know you weren't the one who did this. I'd be willing to bet her parents did this to her." He said, making it obvious that he was a seasoned doctor who had seen his fair share of child abuse victims come in here. "However, since she does have a primary physician I will fax these over to him. When you go to file the police report all they will need is a warrant if her doctor doesn't hand them over willingly." He explained. "I do, however, know Roxanne has been in here several times with excessive bruising and many broken bones." He added, looking at Roxy as he did.

Roxanne nodded as she listened to what he was saying, finding herself glad that Tim had asked about how they would get her medical records to the police. As he glanced at her she smiled weakly at squeezed his hand in return. When the doctor mentioned having seen her before she looked at him with a nervous gaze, as if she thought he might warn her Father of their plans.

Tim nodded, glad that the doctor understood. He was also glad that he knew Roxy and was aware of her situation. He wasn't worried that he might tell her father. Doing so would be an indirect way of breaking the oath he took when he became a doctor. He might even be willing to make a statement to the police if it came to that. He smiled at the doctor. "Thank you. We'll make sure it gets done." The doctor then wrote the prescription for pain killers for Roxy and that was all they needed. He left and then Tim got up and helped Roxy as they left. They went right to the pharmacy and looked through the over the counter pain killers. Once they found what they needed they got them for her and were soon in the car heading back home. As they drove he leaned close to Roxanne. "I guess we won't be using the things in my pocket for a while. But again, that's not so important. Should we go right to your house now? The sooner we get your things the better. But we may also have suitcases and bags at my house to make moving it all easier."

Once in the car Roxanne closed her eyes as he leaned against her while she listened to his words. "I have plenty of bags at my house to get the rest of my things out. She opened her eyes to look over the back of the driver's seat at the radio so she could see what time it was. It was almost noon now and it would take at least a couple hours work to get the remainder of her things out. "I think we'd be best to go to my house now. After all, I never did listen to my Dad's voice mail yesterday and I have no clue what time they will make it home." She said, still refering to her parent's house as "home" rather than Tim's house out of habit.

Tim nodded. His mother heard her from the front seat and made the right turn to get to Roxy's house. They arrived a few minutes later. He realise that they would also need to get her car away to his place. He thought for a moment and then made a suggestion. "Why don't we get your closet cleaned out first and then I'll come out and start clearing the driveway. You and mom can deal with the rest of your things and we'll pack it all into this car. Hopefully I'll have your car ready to get onto the road by the time you finish. If I am done first then I'll come in and help you get everything else. Just work quickly." He looked at his mother. "We don't have time for organisation and sorting. We just need to get it all and get it out."

When they made it to her house Roxanne listened to him and nodded in agreement then looked to his Mother. "We just need to get it all out of here today, Mom. My parents will be back sometimes today and if we're here still packing things my Dad will start a scene." She said with a sigh, unable to resist the shiver that ran through her body at the mention of her father. She then looked at Tim as she remembered something. "I still need to listen to that voice mail he left yesterday." She said before leaning in and kissing him. "We should go get to work." She said when she pulled away from Tim, in the back of her mind wandering how they would keep his Mother out of the room to pack up all the bondage gear, sex toys, costumes and other kinky things in her closet.

Tim got out of the car and went to the front door. Over night the snow had melted more. He was sure he could get the driveway cleared fairly easily. When Roxy let them inside he went right up to her room, holding her hand. When they got to her door he looked at his mother. "We'll get started on the closet right away. There is already one bag packed and we will need other bags to pack everything." She nodded and took the bag Roxy had packed the day before. Tim knew they had a little time before she got back with other bags. He moved right into the bedroom and to the closet. He smiled at Roxy. "Let's just get everything that isn't already in a descreet package into something and then she won't know what is in here. We'll get her to work on the other side of the room too. She won't know what you have. But maybe you should listen to your voicemail first so we know if we have a limited time."

Roxanne watched as they walked into the house and entered her room, Tim turned to his Mother. She couldn't help but smile when he used the excuse that they didn't have enough bags to pack things in, even when he knew full well that she had more than enough bags to pack and move all her belongings. When his Mother left she shook her head at him playfully. "Shouldn't you be ashamed, lying to your Mother like that?" She asked, her tone playful and she kissed him before going to sit on the bed as he went to the closet. She needed to rest for a moment, her side hurting pretty bad. "Most of it's already packaged up. It's mainly the costumes and collars and leashes that aren't. The smaller stuff, really." She said before nodding. Roxanne took his suggestion and picked up her phone, dialing her voice mail before putting it on speaker phone. "Hey Baby Girl, your Mom and I are going to be starting back home early tomorrow morning and should be there by tomorrow evening. I'm sorry about what I did before we left. I'll make it up to you somehow when we get home. Love you, Baby Girl!" Roxanne's Father's voice came through the speaker and as she listened Roxanne's muscles involuntarily tensed up at the sound of his voice and his words made her feel sick to her stomach. While his words would have seemed perfectly normal to most and sound like that of a loving Father Roxanne knew different and she was certain Tim did too.

Tim got to work right away packing up everything in the closet that wasn't already in something. He listened to the voicemail as Roxy playedit. He was relieved that they had more time than they had thought. They would be able to get everything packed up and out of the house before evening. They could even go through the entire house and make sure they got all of her stuff. But the rest of the message made him very angry. It was such a horrible act. If he was sorry he would never do something like that in the first place. Tim just couldn't believe the man. He frowned and continued packing. He had everything in the closet ready to move by the time his mother returned with a couple of empty bags in hand. He smiled and thanked her. He looked at Roxy and smiled. "I'll take a couple of these things down to the car and then get to work on the driveway. We may have time before your dad gets back, but I'd rather be done as soon as possible." With that he grabbed as much as he could from the closet and carried it downstairs and out to the car. Once it was in he went and found a shovel and started clearing the driveway of all the snow.

Roxy was about in tears with how pissed off and upset the message from her Father had made her. She had even thrown the phone on the floor she was so angry. By the time she had calmed down enough to focus on doing something she could see that Tim had gotten the closet done and also saw his Mother walking into the room, having a few empty bags in her hands. "Thanks Mom." She said before looking over at her boyfriend to see him smiling at her. Roxanne smiled weakly back at him, sure that he could still tell she was quite upset at her Father's words. Roxanne nodded and stood from the bed, walking over and kissing him on the lips before he took what he could from the closet and carried it down stairs and outside to her car. When he was gone she turned to his mother and smiled. "Where do you think we should start?" She asked, still there was quite a bit to pack, there was even some clothes yet, mostly her sweatshirts that were hanging in the closet and there were other things likes her book, movie and video game collection so there was plenty to pack.

Even with the melting that had happened there was still plenty of snow to get out of the way so they could get to her car. Time worked hard to clear everything away. By the time he was finished he was exhausted and cold, but it was done. The driveway was completely clear of snow and they would be able to drive Roxy's car out of there and right to his house and into his garage. He put the shovel away and slowly went into the house. He took a moment to warm up and then he went up to the bedroom to see how Roxy and his mother were doing. He smiled when he saw his girlfriend and all the work that had been done to pack up her things. It looked to him as if they really just needed to take it all to the car. He went over to her and leaned in close, kissing her softly. When he pulled away he smiled. "You did a great job in here."

By the time Tim came back the two women had everything packed and ready to be moved to her car. When he came over to her after walking over to the room she smiled against his lips as he leaned in and kissed her before kissing him back. Although he had took time to warm up she could still see some snow that hadn't yet melted on his coat. "Would you like something warm to drink to warm you up, my love?" She asked before kissing him again. She had planned on offering both him and his Mother something to drink so they could take some time to relax before getting her things into her car anyway.

Tim smiled at her and nodded. "I'll go make some hot chocolate while you two finish up in here. It should be ready in just a couple of minutes." He kissed her one more time and then went down to the kitchen to make them all the hot drinks. He was quite happy that he wouldn't have to see her father that day. He wasn't quite sure what he might do if the man tried something. For his own safety and for Roxy's safety he would need to control his temper. He just hoped he never saw the man again. It would be better for all of them if they simply didn't have any contact.

A couple of minutes later the water was ready and he made three mugs of hot chocolate. He carried them into the living room and set them on a table. Then he returned to the bedroom and let his mother and girlfriend know that it was ready. It looked like in the short time he had been gone they had finished packing. That made him really happy. He went downstairs holding Roxanne's hand. He kissed her cheek and sat down next to her once in the living room again.

When Tim kissed her once more before leaving down stairs Roxanne smiled against his lips and watched as he left the room and disappeared down stairs. Part of her wanted to insist on doing it herself but with her injury she knew that was a losing battle, knowing not only Tim but his Mother too would more than likely insist that she needed to rest. Roxanne then went to packing what little of her belongings were left.

When a couple minutes later Roxanne could hear Tim coming up the stairs and a moment later she saw them. She could see that as he told them the drinks were ready that he was looking around the room and she could sense he was happy to see all the packing done. Roxanne stood up from the bed and walked over to him, leaning in and kissing him on the lips before the two of them walked down the stairs, hand in hand and she could hear his Mother following. When he kissed her cheek she smiled and sat down on the couch, smiling at him as he sat down next to her. "Well, it looks like we'll be out of here long before they get back."

Tim relaxed and drank his hot chocolate. It really helped warm him up after his time outside. Even though Roxy mentioned they should be long gone before her parents returned he was eager to get moving. He spoke with Roxy and got her to think about all the rooms in the house and what might be there that was hers or that she wanted to bring. He wanted to make sure that they got everything from her house so they would never have to return. Once he was sure they had thought of everything he finished his drink and went to get the handful of items she had mentioned. With that done they had the simple task of getting it in the car. He was aware it might seem as if he was rushing, but he just felt nervous. He started taking as much as he could with each trip to the car.

As Roxanne sat next to him and sipped at her hot chocolate she could tell that despite that her and Tim would make it out of here in plenty of time, as would his Mother and with what of her's was left in the house, that he was eager to get out of here already. Roxanne thought about it and there wasn't much in other rooms: some old pictures she wanted to take of when she was growing up and some movies and games of her's was about it. Roxy sighed, when he came back from taking another load of her things out to her car she got up and took him by the arm. "Babe, please relax. We've got plenty of time to get out of here." She said, trying to keep her tone calm and loving but she just hated seeing him like this.

Tim stopped for a moment and sighed. He wrapped his arms around her and looked into her eyes. "I'm sorry. I just don't think I'll be able to relax until we are out of here. I'm not comfortable here any more. Please, let's just get it all in the car and get away. This place will always have a special meaning as the place where we first admitted how we felt, but that does not measure up to what I now know has been happening here for a long time. You can take your time, but I don't want to spend any longer here than I have to." He kissed her softly and immediately got back to taking all her things to the car. It took just a few trips and he was ready to go. He knew everything was out of the house. He saw no need to go back inside. He stood outside and waited for Roxy and his mother to join him. The last thing they had to do was get Roxy's car and possibly leave a message for her parents to explain what was happening. He figured that would be the easiest way of informing them.

Roxanne kissed him back before sighing as she watched him go. She went to sit back down on the couch and shook her head. Sure, she knew she couldn't blame him for how he felt and she knew she should feel the same way but she didn't. Roxanne finished her drink before leaning back and looking across the room at Tim's Mother. "I'll be back in, Mom. I just need to go check on him.." She said, excusing herself before pulling her coat on and heading outside to the garage to see Tim leaning against her car. "Tim... I'm sorry I forced you to come back here.." She said as she walked over so she was leaning against the wall across from him. "I didn't even stop to think what just being here meant to you anymore..." She added.

Tim looked at Roxy as she emerged from the house. She didn't seem to be ready to go yet. He wasn't sure why. He shook his head at her comment. "You didn't force me to come back. I decided to come back. But that doesn't mean I want to stay. I see no reason why we should. We need to get your things back home and then we need to see the police. I want that done before your parents are back home. Plus I'm just getting a bad feeling that your dad could show up at any minute and if he sees us packing you up to leave I don't know what will happen. I just want to write him a note and get away as fast as possible. We can rest later somewhere safer." He moved closer to her and took her hand. The look in his eyes was one of pleading. He just wanted to leave.

"Tim, you andI both know that the police station can wait until tomorrow morning. And i mine as well have, you've been on edge since we got here. Look, I understand why you feel the way you do and you have every right to feel that way; maybe it's some way you feel in control of what happened. I only wish it was that easy for me, that I could hate them like you do... But they are my parents and they are part of me. If you want to leave, fine, let's go but I'm coming back to tell them what I plan on doing." Roxy said, expecting Tim to forbid it. She watched as he took her hand and watched as he tried to plead with her without words. "Want me to go tell Mom we're ready?"

Tim frowned at the idea of her telling her parents face to face what was happening. It just sounded too dangerous. He sighed and nodded. "Yes, let's get going. But first, know this. You are not going to come back alone to tell your father. If you must do it that way then I understand. I don't like it, but it is your choice. I will come and I am sure my parents will come too. I would also prefer a police officer be there at the same time, but if not, we'll handle it. And the moment he shows any signs of being potentially violent we are leaving. No matter what." He let go of her and leaned against the garage. He really wished she would not return, but if she did he would be there with her. He knew he had to be.

Roxanne could tell when she first mentioned it as Tim frowned that he didn't like the idea of her coming back here to tell her parents face to face, probably mainly because she would only be putting herself in harms way one last time and it was hard to tell what her Father may try to keep her there. "Tim, I'm not having the cops here, I'm not going to object to you or your parents coming with me, if they want but I need to do this on my own terms." She said, going to the the door before turning back at him. "Tim, if you hate this house so much think about how I feel, the longer I stay in there the more flashbacks of all he's done start coming and since you hate my Mom and Dad so much just try to remember something good did come from them." She said to him before turning and going inside, not giving him a chance to reply. She rather wanted him to think about what she had said.

As she walked into the house she noticed the mugs they had dirtied were washed and she could see his Mother sitting on the couch. "Hey Mom, Tim and I are ready to leave." She said as she picked her keys off of the kitchen counter. Roxy figured she was just waiting on the two of them to be ready.

Tim sighed. She was right. They had made one good thing. She was very good. For a moment he smiled. That smile soon faded as he remembered that her father had seemed to be trying hard to destroy the one good thing he had made. He waited a few minutes and then the other two emerged from the house again. His mother got in the family car and turned it on. He waited for Roxy to get in her car and then got in the passenger seat. He gave her a weak smile. "They did make one wonderful thing. But I will not let them destroy it or take it away. I love you." He sat back and let her get them on the road. He looked back at the house as they drove away, dreading the time when they would return to face her parents. He really hoped that it would be the last time he would have to see them for a long time. He knew eventually they may see them again, years down the line, but at the moment it didn't seem like a smart thing to do.
