First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think (CLOSED)

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver blinked at the two men before him. "You...have never eaten at Sonic before?" He asked a little stunned and shook his head. He sighed "why do I get the feeling you don't even know what a hardies is...or a cook out or maybe even a in and out burger?" He questioned the two men, sighing again "yeah, I wouldn't mind Sonic, or your wifes cooking I'm sure it's not all that bad, I could probably help some if she wanted. I know how to cook, it is sort of what we do in my family before anyone leaves for college. They are taugt how to cook."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

they blinked at him and Richard laughed a little. “you have to remember Oliver, we live here out in the middle of nowhere for a reason.” he explained smiling a little. “we avoid public area's when we're young, because the little ones don't realize that turning into wolves is not acceptable in public area's. It's a habit that leads into adult lives and we just, don't leave this property all that often. In fact, when Cassius and Sylvana left for collage it was the first time they actually stepped out into real; life save for the few field trips we made.” Cassius nodded. “this is our territory, and leaving that territory makes us nervous and vulnerable so we normally don't. Syl and me, we're basically a running experiment that we're running on ourselves, seeing how we can cope with real life, with... living like a human. Syl coped a lot better than I did... but then, living for me was hard to cope with, as a human, or as a wolf.”

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver blinked. "And...your wife just started cooking because..." he trailed off not really understanding the reason behind that one. He nodded at the fast food though. "I guess that makes sense. Though honestly, I don't really think too many people would even notice. Well, as long as you didn't do it in front of people that is. People are pretty oblivious." he chuckled. "On a college campus...they are just far too stoned to even realize. Even if you changed in front of them." he said and chuckled a little more. "or too drunk."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Richard chuckled a little and shook his head. “unfortunately, we are what started the rumors of werewolves, witches, shape shifters, demons, stuff like that.” he explained. “we fled England to hide from the witch hunts, to save ourselves.” he explained shaking his head a little. “even if they are oblivious, or stoned, we don't dare take the chance of someone seeing us, and convincing others once again of our existence. If we weren't slaughtered, we'd be taken in for experiments and study.” he admitted with a shake of his head, Cassius nodding. “and we can't risk that.” he admitted smiling at Oliver. “it's easier to keep a secrete, than to make others keep it for us.” “you we trust.” Richard admitted. “you practically have the spirit of a wolf yourself.” “but most people would run the streets screaming our secrete at the top of their lungs.” “which we can't really risk. Not after our pasts.” well at least someone learned from their history. “you know, I think maybe we should eat here.” Cassius decided suddenly. “mom has been cooking, she'd be upset if we didn't eat her food, and if Oliver is willing he might teach her some tricks.” he teased winking at his lover.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver blushed slightly at the complement paid to him about practically having the spirit of a wolf. He blinked and nodded to Cassius. "Yeah, no problem." he said and pointed the way "Just making sure, it's that way right?" he asked and started to head over, walking into the kitchen, sighing in relief when he realized he was in the right room. "Hello?" he called, looking for the mother. "Mrs. Cassius's mom?" he called, forgetting what the man's last name was for once. He frowned a little at the fact but didn't let it bother him too much. "Your son and husband have sent me to probably die." he chuckled, "Please don't shoot the messenger, I happen to be able to cook..." he said slowly.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

the woman turned and smiled brightly at him. “it's Delruth sweetie but you can call me Catherine if you want.” she stated giggling again. “i'm so glad you can cook! How does one go about making mashed potatoes?” she asked her head tilted at him. “i'm good at the steaks though!...well if you like them still bleeding in the middle.” she admitted scratching her head looking puzzled as she prodded the half raw slabs of meat. “i'm not very good at this.” she admitted her head tilted. “but ever since Cassius told me I needed to stop being so dependent on my money I decided to get a Hobby!” she admitted clapping her hands and sputtering when a cloud of flour flew into her face. She was clearly just as insane as always but it was a cute insane instead of a creepy insane. “besides, I haven't got a gun!” she admitted with a laugh. “i suppose Richard gave you the run down did he? You know I hit him over the head with a frying pan.” she admitted giggling. “he looked so shocked! And his father looked like he was going to burst with laughter! I do hope this isn't upsetting you at all, Cassius is a good boy but he RUSHES things so!” she clearly had no idea what had happened to Oliver. “come over here darling and show me how to make the steaks stop bleeding...” well, letting them thaw first would help, they where cooked on the outside, but still partially frozen in the middle. “oh dear, perhaps I shouldn't have let the cook have that month long vacation after all?”

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver almost gave a helpless look at the woman and just shook his head. He poked the meat and sighed a little bit "You need to let it thaw a bit, Mrs. Delruth." he said and grabbed the meat "Since you've decided to cook it frozen we'll just fix it with the microwave." he said and put each in for about 5 minutes. "there, now you can cook them, do the same as you been doing, though wait a little longer. That should cook it all the way through, if a little crispy on the outside. I'll start the potatoes." he said and moved over getting to work on the potatoes. He had a soft smile on his face, remembering having to cook for his parents and little sister. "You'll do just fine, I'll send Cassius back here with a few recipes that should be pretty simple to follow." he said "I'll even add 'for beginners' instructions" he said, smiling at her. "Don't worry if the steaks are a little raw, sometimes they are good like that."

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she blushed a little and rubbed the back of her head. “oh.. I see.” she muttered watching him thaw the steaks, and slap them back into the pan, smiling a little. “well I'm sure that my husband and children wouldn't mind raw steak but honestly I doubt you and I would be able to stomach it.” she admitted with a laugh. “i would love some recipe's! I bet my husband would appreciate it too.” she admitted with a giggle. “apparently my peanut butter Sardine cookies didn't go over too well, or my chocolate chip rhubarb pancakes.” she paused. “though he did seam to like my chocolate dipped peanut butter and strawberry cake.” she admitted smiling a little as she flipped the steaks, peeking at them to make sure they weren't burning. “did you know that strawberries are astonishingly difficult to grow!? I tried to garden at first but nothing would grow!” of course nothing would grow, it was too cold to plant things. “and painting was FAR too messy.” she admitted wrinkling her nose. “cooking is rather messy too but it's a FUN messy!”

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver nodded at some of the concoctions that she had made but chuckled none-the-less. "Yeah, I'm gonna get you some recipes." he said and chuckled "I kind of like painting. Not the biggest fan of cooking, but someone has to." he said and smiled, finishing up with the mash potatoes. "Well, everything looks decently done." he said and looked around the kitchen to find a bowl to put the potatoes in "So, where is this dinning room or where ever we will be eating?" he asked, looking to the woman.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she giggled a little and nodded. “are the steaks done? I can't tell.” she admitted prodding them with her spatula, her head tilted a little. “well I'm glad you can cook.” she admitted smiling at him. “Richard is going to get so fat if he eats at fast food restaurants every day!” she admitted with a laugh. “to think, he looked amazed when I told him what a Culver's was!” she admitted shaking her head. “that man really has to get out more.” she admitted rolling her eyes. “we usually eat in the living room.” she admitted chuckling. “the dining hall is too big for just the two of us, or even all four of us.” she admitted shaking her head. “but we might need all the room someday so we;'re not renovating.” she admitted with a small chuckle as she loaded everything into plates and led the way out to the living room where Cassius and Richard where arguing about something on the television, both of them looking rather nervous when she walked in with the food, poking at their steaks and mashed potato's to make sure there wasn't anything weird in them, like sardines, or coconut. “wow mom this looks like actual food!” Cassius teased, Catherine beaming happily at them as she settled onto an armchair, letting Oliver sit next to Cassius on the couch as Richard nibbled on his meal, licking his lips. “hey, this is good!” “well of COURSE it is! Oliver helped! He's going to get me some recipe's that even I could do!” she chirped happily, Cassius chuckling a little. “aaw Ol, you made my mom happy.” he stated looking pleased and grateful that Oliver had been able to help.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver nodded "yeah, they should be fine. There isn't blood coming out of them." he said and followed her out of the room, he sat down next to Cassius and smiled. "It's not a problem, or that much of a favor. Your mom can cook, just needs a few guiding hands to send her in the right direction, that's all." he said and smiled at Cassius's mother. "I didn't do much at all." he said and started to eat the meal. "What were you arguing about?" he asked, looking to Cassius.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

she giggled a little and smiled at Oliver. “aaw, I'm glad you think I have potential!” she admitted smiling happily as she cut into her steak and gave It a nibble, showing that the boys weren't the only ones nervous about her concoctions. “what else would two grown men argue about?” Cassius asked smirking as he indicated the tv. “football of course, and wrestling. Pop has twenty down on the Patriots and I think the Cowboys are going to win.” he admitted smirking a little as he shook his head. “so of course I bet twenty as well and now we're just balk talking and mud slinging.” he admitted with a laugh. It was so strange to see Cassius, who was so strange in the first place, even before the wolf thing came to light, arguing with his father about something so... normal. “just wait until the game actually starts.” Lilyana teased giggling a little. “they actually jump up and down and yell and chair and cuss out the players.” just like any average normal family.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver rolled his eyes "The only time people become uncivilized, isn't it?" he chuckled. It was normal in his family to watch football as well, but none of them were as loud as these two seemed to be. He continued to eat his meal, glancing towards the TV every now and then, always having been quiet during dinner. It was just how he was raised. He had to smile though, thinking about his little sister while they watched games, she was very loud about them. She never cussed, at least nothing that adults would consider cussing. She did on occasion call the referee a 'poopyhead', but that was about it, she also always got reprehended for it.

Oliver smiled a bit while watching the family interact, feeling just a little out of place, but not much. Slowly starting to think that his family wasn't all that normal.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius laughed a little as he and his father traded insults and bad jokes about each others teams, Lilyana rolling her eyes as she turned to Oliver. “you seam a little quiet dead, is everything alright? Do you need me to beat up someone? I might be small bit I pack a mean punch!” “she does.” Richard admitted smirking a little. “broke my jaw once.” “and my hand doing it too!” Lilyana admitted with a giggle, Cassius choking on his meal before laughing. “she really broke your jaw!?” “sure did!” Richard admitted rubbing his jaw. “seriously though Oliver, are you alright?” Cassius asked looking a little worried. “do you need to go back to campus? It's ok we won't mind...” wanting to make sure that his lover felt comfortable, even if it meant going home early.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver shook his head "No, no, I'm fine. I've just never been in such a lively home." he explained "My family usually eats quietly. That's all. Please, don't worry about me. I enjoy listening to you all." he said and smiled. "Please, really, Don't worry." he said and continued to eat, moving a little closer to Cassius, in hopes that it would show him he really didn't have a problem with being there, just wasn't used to it was all. For being his usual rowdy and confident self he seemed to tone down a bit when around family, any family. For him it was just the way he was taught he had to act at other houses.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

they relaxed a little and Cassius smiled, wrapping arm arm around Oliver's shoulders, giving his forehead a small kiss ad he smiled a little. “dad, you do realize that your team sucks?” “yours sucks more.” “your 0-2!” “and your 0-1, my team has more practice!” “your still going down! Your 0-2 is gonna be an 0-3 before this day is done!” “ha! Suck my lily white fuzz balls!” “RICHARD!” Lilyana gasped in horror Cassius bursting into laughter at his fathers obscenities shaking his head. “Dad that's horrible! We have company!” Cassius protested, more for his mothers sake than for Oliver's. “oh sure! Take your mothers side!” Richard complained Cassius laughing again. “of course! She's the one that'll cry if I don't.” “Cassius!” Lilyana protested, though she was giggling too. “now don't encourage your Father!” she ordered shaking her head. “your all terrible!” she complained still giggling.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver bit his lip to keep from laughing so hard. He couldn't stand it the moment the father had said lily white he was starting to lose it. Soon he was wiping tears that had started to form in his eyes from holding back his laughter, though he wasn't doing very well. He had to put his plate down in front of him on a coffee table to keep from dropping it when he grabbed his stomach, because it had started to hurt. "oh my god..." he said, shaking his head, still laughing. It had been such a long time since he had heard such language from an adult, let alone a man that seemed like he would be prim and proper much like his own father.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius laughed a little when he saw Oliver trying to contain his laughter, nudging him. “you can laugh out loud you know!” he teased Richard still laughing at his wife's horror Cassius snickering still as he watched his lover, feeling pleased that his fathers usual course language had amused his lover, instead of insulting the boy like he had feared. “oh come on now it wasn't that bad!” Richard complained smirking a little as Lilyana snickered. “it was too! You shouldn't use such language in front of guests!” she complained Richard snorting. “why not? He clearly thought it was funny! Maybe I aught to tell him all those naughty jokes you hate?” “Don't You Dare!” both Cassius and Lilyana both ordered, both of them blushing bright red now, Richard laughing at the horror on their faces.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver bust out laughing after Cassius nudged him. He finally looked up to Cassius's father "What kind of naughty jokes?" he asked, smirking a bit, having noticed that Cassius also didn't want to hear them. "If they bug the crap out of him, I want to know them." he said seeming rather excited about the jokes that could make Cassius blush. "Do you know how hard I've tried to get him to blush like that!" he half asked, half said, pointing at Cassius's face. He smirked a little more, thinking that he finally had the key to making Cassius blush.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Cassius coughed a little when Richard smirked viciously. “alright.” “oh god dad don't!” Cassius pleaded hiding his face in his hands as Richard began. “one day a senses worker walks up to a house and rings the doorbell and a little boy answers the door. The senses worker asks the little boy where his mommy is and the little boy responds. “she's out back getting fucked by an old goat.” the senses worker was horrified! “son! You shouldn't speak about your parents that way!” the little boy shook his head. “but it's true! Come on I'll show you!” the little boy stated leading the senses into the back yard, where indeed his mother was laying on the ground getting screwed by an old Billy goat. “good lord! That's disgusting! Doesn't that bother you!?” the man demanded to the child who shrugged and said “Naa-aa-aa.”” Richard smirked as he looked at Cassius who was shaking his head, Lilyana snickering as she tried to hide her own blush before glancing at Oliver waiting for a reaction. “oh and of course there's this one!” “oh god Dad don't!” “what!?” “just stop! For goodness sakes!” Lilyana ordered. “that's just wrong dad!” “honestly your sick in the head!” “oh come on Lils I do you beast style all the time!” “but it's a GOAT!” Cassius and his mother chorused Richard laughing brightly again. “i could always tell the joke about the horse?” “NO!”

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver snickered at the joke shaking his head when the others were protesting. "I think I know how that one turns out." he said and chuckled more, he honestly found it rather funny. Though he did want to know why it made Cassius blush so much, it wasn't all that bad. He continued to chuckle at the joke every now and again. He blushed a little bit when Richard seemed perfectly fine talking about his and his wife's sex life, getting a little quiet, not really laughing anymore. He moved a little closer to Cassius, hoping that no one else noticed but Cassius and that Cassius wouldn't say anything. Oliver was still smiling, holding himself back from looking completely worried about what Richard had said.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Richard laughed and shook his head. “i could tell the one about the mason jar and the old man?” “dammit dad no!” “fine!” Richard complained smirking a little. “Hey Oliver! Why do ducks have flat feet!?” “oh my god.. dad your mortifying!” “to put out forest fires! Whats the black stuff between elephants toes!? Burnt Duck!” “oh no, not the one liners!” Lilyana pleaded, smacking herself in the head as Richard laughed again, Cassius wrapping his arm around Oliver's shoulder, offering him comfort. “what's yellow and goes click click!?” Richard asked, Cassius rolling his eyes. “a ballpoint banana...” “hey! Let Oliver guess!” Richard ordered, Cassius snorting a little. “ok, why did the wale cross the ocean?” Richard asked Oliver, smirking a little. “to get to the other tide.” Cassius snickered suddenly and finally said. “ hey dad, one day Two snowmen are standing in a field. One says to the other : "Funny, I smell carrots too".” Richard looked startled and then burst into laughter, and there, the bad joke contest began.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver shook his head a little at the one liners, leaning into Cassius as they went off on the bad jokes. He looked over to Lilyana and smiled apologetically, "I feel bad for you if you have to put up with this everyday. Must get a little old." he said, though he was still laughing every now and then at the jokes, them taking his mind off of the beast type things. He ended up having a soft smile on his face listening to every one telling jokes, he never was really good at them and only knew a few one that honestly weren't all that good.

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

the jokes only continued for about ten minutes before all three of the Delruth's ran out of ammo, all of them giggling at the terrible 'yo mama's' 'why did the chickens' and 'knock knocks'. “that was terrible.” Lilyana complained still giggling wildly as Cassius shook his head and poked Oliver with a grin. “you wanna ditch the old folks and go hang out in the pool?” he asked with a grin, Richard glaring at his son Lilyana laughing again as Cassius got up, picking up all the plates and setting them in the kitchen where a maid was already washing the dishes, thanking her before dragging Oliver up to his bedroom and offering him a pair of swimming trunks still in the packaging. “they where too small for me by like, a size. They should fit.” he admitted pondering. “if they don't we'll have to tie another one of my pairs on so they don't fall off.” he teased smirking. “unless you'd rather go nude?”

RE: First Day of College, First Day of Freedom, I Think

Oliver grinned and followed Cassius up to the room and looked around it again, still a little shocked at aout how clean it was. "Well, I wouln't mind either way." He said and stripped real quick in front of Cassius and pulled on the swim trucks, they hung dangerously on his body, but looked like they would stay on. He looked down at them and shrugged "look good enough to me, what do you think?" He asked, looking back up to Cassius. "Your parents are pretty cool by the way." He mentioned.
