Elizabeth had been slightly mortified by Robert, as he charged into the restaurant. She’d been tugging to get his attention but the proverbial bull was loose in the china shop.
She stiffened as the waiter said Delaney’s name, and then as Robert took the chair in direct view of the table. Once they were seated she took his hand.
“You do know that this is not the right time for a confrontation, right?” She felt constrained by her upbringing. A scene here would ruin her. She laughed, not like it mattered, she was going home with Robert, but old thoughts and habits died hard.
