RE: LA EYE'S ( Case of the Innocent Murderer ) ( Katy & Crimson )
it took three days before she could convince both the hospital and Matt and Mike that she was fit enough to leave and go home. Nina eventually came around to the hospital after having gone to Samantha's place to get her some clothes. Matt had come after work and picked her up and driven her back home. Her own car was back parked in front of her building. She guessed either Matt or Mike would have driven it back from Parker's place. Nina had obviously done a lot more than simply get her some clothes to wear home. There was fresh food in the cupboards; fresh bread and milk. Fruit. Vegetables. It even smelled as if there was a casserole cooking in the oven as they walked in. Flowers which had been sent to her at the hospital had now been moved; from Jill and her family, from the courthouse and the police Precinct as well as a separate gift from Mike, some from Nina and Matt. Matt had made sure she was comfortable that first night and then it seemed to be that her friends took it in turn to call in and see her. And for the most part she was grateful for the company.
Sometimes on her own, her mind drifted back to the events in Parker's house. Sometimes in the night, she woke up, the images vivid in her dreams. Physically, except for the marks around her wrists and the cut on her back there was no real evidence of what had happened. And in a few weeks those scars would be gone too. It might take a little longer for the internal scars - the ones in her head - to heal, but she knew that they would. Eventually
