The Best Man

Fiaza grinned widely at Eike. "The song is kinda annoying huh?" She yelled over the music. Most of the crowd was singing along so it was probaly a popular song, that would change the fact she didn't know it.

Somebody from behind bumped into her and knocked her into Eike. They mumbled a quick sorry and walked away.

Eike tried to hear what Fiaza was saying, but the music seemed to get louder and louder. Soon, he leaned closer to her to see if he could hear her better when the guy knocked her into him. Eike instinctively held Fiaza in his arms, and he looked over at the guy that was walking away. He sighed and then looked down at Fiaza and asked, "you okay?"

"I-I'm Ok." Fiaza said blushing. She wouldn't admit it out loud but she like the feeling of being in his arms. To her it felt safe, safer than she felt with Christan. She didn't understand it, she'd be marrying Christan soon and yet Eike made her feel safe. Maybe she was marrying the wrong guy. But she couldn't end it with her Groom- to-be to be with Eike.Eike was going to be the Bestman darn it.

Eike noticed a small blemish in Fiaza's face and placed the back side of his hand to her forehead. SHe felt warm to the touch but not sickly warm. He enjoyed being close to Fiaza and saw her as a close friend to him. He patted her on the back and said, "your face was red for a while, thought maybe you had a fever or something." The music seemed to slow down a bit and the people as well slowed down.

Maybe she was sick, maybe that's why she was having such crazy thoughts! "I feel fine." She said "I'll tell you if that changes."

She looked around and smiled. "I'm glad it's calmed down."

Eike smiled a bit and said, "okay." His isnticts had calmed down a bit and felt less combative. The music was still slow but the dance seemed alien to him almost.

"I think they'll be doing a slow couple's song next," Fiaza said "Do you want stay or go back to the bar?"

"Whatever you want to do," Eike replied as he wondered about something. "How about one dance and then maybe call it a night, what do you say?"

"One more dance sounds perfect." Fiaza said smiling. She tucked her hair behind her ears because it was beginning to block her eyesight,

Eike placed a hand on Fiaza's side and one in her hand and tried to dance to the melody of the music with her. He liked it a bit but something in his mind ticked about the whole situation, saying he should stop now.

Fiaza's face went a light shade of red. It felt somewhat strange dancing with her soon-to-be Best Man. She followed him on dancing trying very hard not to step on his shoes. She gave Eike a small smile once she felt like she wouldn't mess up.

Eike smiled back to Fiaza and heard the song die down when they started to get the rythem together. "Want to do another song Fiaza," Eike asked. He could hear the part of him saying he should leave her be, but part of him didn't want to let her go.

"If you want to," She said "I want you to have fun too!"

Fiaza looked around at the other dancers. There were best friends dancing laughing quietly to themselves, there were couple who were very much in love, and there where people dancing with complete strangers. It was almost odd at who the people here were so different.

Eike nodded his head and continued to dance with Fiaza. "I hope Christian wouldn't have a problem with us tonight, hell if you two wern't to be wed I would ask for your hand, your a nice person." EIke had an honest smile on his face.

"Thank you." Fiaza said smiling "And if it wasn't for the wedding, I would have accepted."

She wondered for a moment what life would be like if her groom had been Eike. It was a simple thought but a very happy one. But little did she know that the moment that thought popped into her head was the same moment her real groom had arrived home early.

Eike chuckled a bit and said, "nice to know that. Anywho, you want to dance some more, get a drink, call it a night, the options are endless." He felt a little normal now being there with Fiaza and somehow, he found himself enjoying just the pure moment like they were on a date. However, his mind did warn him about the fact she belonged to Christian.

"What do you want to do?" Fiaza asked "We've been doing what I've wanted, it's your turn."

At that moment Christain had started to worry. Fiaza almost never went out without telling him. Her car was still here and that's what worried him. She hadn't answered or returned any of his calls.

Eike chuckled a bit and said, "mutual happiness, if you are happy, I'm happy." Eike then kissed her on the cheek, not sure why he did that and said, "might be a good idea to go somewhere else to end the party for the night, you know?" However, Eike didn't realize he may have been a bit tipsy to drive.

"Where would you like to go Eike?" Fiaza asked, still smiling wide from the kiss on her cheek. "We could go anywhere you want."

Fiaza was handling her drinks well, but only because she hadn't had much. She was having too much fun to notice that something might be off.

At that time Christian pulled out his phone and dialed Eike's number. He would know of anything suspicious had happened in town.

(Sorry for the delay, life caught up to me)

Eike was about to suggest a place when his cell phone started to ring one of the standard chirps that came with the phone. Eike held up a finger and mouthed, excuse me for a moment. He pulled out the phone and saw the number was Christian's number. "Its your fiance," Eike told Fiaza as he flipped open the phone. "You know when people speak of the devil, I never thought you would call at the same time. How you doing?"
