Still laid out on her bed, she felt her belly rumble and, groaning softly, stood up. Making sure she looked presentable, she left her room, heading down into the kitchens. Several of the cooks greeted her, and she greeted back with a warm smile on her face, she had always loved the kitchens. Cooked meat, sweets, and other aromas filled her senses. "Tomas!" She yelled in greeting to her best friend, the elder cook. "Why Synthia, good afternoon to you, care to taste some of my masterpieces, eh?" She giggled and hugged the elderly cook, he smelt of cinnamon. "I wouldn't miss one of your meals for all the gold in the Earth." She picked up one of his cinnamon rolls and bit into it expectantly. "Mmmmmm, this is even better then your last batch!" He laughed and nodded. "I have been experimenting with the ingredients, that batch had a touch more cinnamon and flour, plus a pinch more of sugar." She nodded and lifted the remaining bun up, inspecting it. "You really know how to make something look beautiful, Tomas. Never make something average." She finished off the roll and sighed. "I'm afraid this will be my last visit for awhile, my friend..." He looked up in confusion and sat on the table opposite of her. "Why? You love the kitchens, I never thought you could keep yourself away for long." She smiled sadly and nodded. "I know, and that would remain the case if Nathan hadn't of returned. But as it happens, I will most likely be leaving soon to travel with him..." The old man nodded and stood up, heading over to a cabinet in the back. "I had always figured something would cause you to travel far...and that day has arrived." He opened the door and poked around inside, pulling out a cooking pot, some pouches, and a few other cooking goods. "I know you have watched me cook for years, and I think it is time for you to learn to cook on your own." He smiled and carried over the gear, setting it down next to her. "I don't know what you will encounter on your journey, but hopefully a empty belly isn't one." She stood there, surprised, and then she hugged the old man tightly. "Easy there, haha, I'm old." She released her grip some, still hugging him. He nodded and hugged back. "Thank you..." She mumbled out. "Think nothing of it my child, now, one last snack together before your departure, eh?" He smiled and walked around the kitchen, picking up his and her favorites, and setting them down on the table. "To adventure." He lifted a small goblet of wine to her. "To food." She raised her's and they laughed, drinking to each other as they enjoyed a meal again, maybe their last.
(( Dang I really got into that, lol. ))
