Jugger x Candira

She panted and slowly calmed down from her experience, looking at him as he wiped his mouth and kissed her. "Mmm, I don't think any woman on this planet would have not enjoyed that." She closed her eyes for a moment to collect herself--feeling a little dizzy...when the crew started to cheer. Damn but these walls were thin. "I should have put up a charm or something," she muttered. At his mention of them finding a hole her eyes widened. "Don't give them any ideas!"

"Meh." He said shrugging. "They're men, I bet they already tried to look for one...good thing I already made sure they couldn't see us from here..." He said smirking as he pointed to where her panties and pants lay. "Covered them up pretty much." He said chuckling as he patted her shoulder. "Now then babe...lets get some sleep. Tomorrow we should arrive in the new land, if we don't get attacked by something like another squid or something..." He said before moving over to lay on the bed, patting the area beside him as a motion for her to come over.

Before she came, she removed the rest of her clothes and added them to the pile, taking down her hair as well. She came to him and crawled up his body, looking over him with a smile. "I hope someone wakes me up this time," she teased, kissing his neck softly, then his lips. "Good night, Nathan." And with that, she slid off of him and to the side, covering herself with sheets and blankets.

Nathan smiled and closed his eyes to sleep. He wrapped his arm over her body and pulled her close to him. Before falling asleep, he whispered an 'I love you' to her before crashing on the bed. The next morning, he awoke slowly. All was quiet outside. A bit odd since people should have been working. "I'm going to kill those slackers..." He said to himself as he stood up and went outside to see where everyone was. Everyone was on the front of the ship, well...the part where they wouldn't fall off the broken bow. They were just staring ahead...not saying anything. In the distance was land...but it was faint, but obviously land. They would probably arrive by mid day, if not by nightfall. Though...they wouldn't know what kind of dangers faced the new land...As soon as they'd hit shore, they'd be caught up in the little trouble the new land was currently going through.

She smiled as she heard his last words before bed and fell asleep in his arms. She woke with him again, though she was still sleepy. At first it didn't register that something was wrong. Silence was a good thing for sleeping, but that did mean that someone wasn't doing their job. Groaning, she sat up and snapped her fingers, dressed in a black shirt and tight white pants. Her boots were black as well. She walked out with him, her hair perfectly groomed but loose. "Hm? What's everyone staring at?" she asked, staying by Nathan's side.

"Land off in the distance...though something's wrong..." He said as he could feel the same uncertainty as everyone else. "The new land just feels...weird..." He couldn't quite explain it, so he pointed out some weird things to her. "If you look closely...the clouds are tinted red off in the distance...its hard to see, but you can see it...Secondly...there's several smoke signals out in the distance...It could be smoke signals, or it could be something just set on fire..." He looked to her with a small frown. "And earlier, one of the boys said they saw an arm floating in the water when dawn was coming up...Something isn't right."

She frowned, putting her arms around him as she looked off into the distance. "A battle? Or a war..." She muttered, pondering aloud. What would this new world have to fight about? She was sure that it had its own problems, but she thought she'd been escaping war by leaving her old home. "Stay here. I'm going to strengthen the ice bow and the charms that stop it from melting. Maybe we can make it to a different port," she said, heading down below deck in a hurry.

Though she was gone, the same thought went through his head that went through hers. It was funny how they left their land just to escape war...only to find a new land that was going into war, if not already in one. Though he wasn't for sure if it was war. It could have just been a raider attack or something. "Sailors! I want you to go to the storage and grab all the weapons and armor that were stored on the boat for trade! This is an order, and I want you to be hasty! If I see you slacking, I'll break your fucking legs!" He yelled out, dispersing the soldiers to head to the storage. Nathan himself went there and saw the sailors outfitting themselves in the armor and weapons. Walking over to a crossbow, Nathan picked it up as well as a quiver full of arrows and walked into the cafeteria to find Darian. Without saying anything, he dropped the equipment on the man's lap and looked sternly at him before leaving to find Sapphire. The look wasn't of tyranny, it was more of a warning of what would come, and Darian knew it was that.

Sapphire was using a spell to thicken the ice hull a little with what had managed to melt. A few charms to protect her work and some low-level protection magic sealed them up. It was easy work now that she wasn't using the sea to recreate part of a ship, but it was still time consuming. By the time Nathan would find her, she'd still be there.

When Nathan found her, he was still wearing the clothes he had, but he had his sword's sheathe hanging from his hip with the sword in it now. "Are you alright Sapphire? You aren't tired are you? We might need you if we have to escort some of these dead weights to safety if we're attacked on the shore."

"I'm okay. Not as much magic use this time. And if I can get a little food before we reach land then I'll be set. I'll be fine," she said, waving a hand. Though, she was nervous about what she'd seen and heard today. "What do you think is going on?" she asked, looking at him.

Nathan shrugged. "I don't know whats going on. I really hope we don't get caught up in something, because this bunch of sailors isn't going to make it if we just let them roam around the island. We'll...probably have to turn the ship into our home. Crash it onto the beach and use the broken bow as the little entrance to our abode. The ship is big enough and we have enough men and weapons to keep ourselves safe until we can figure out whats going on."

Sapphire didn't appear to be soothed by this announcement. Slowly, she came to him and hugged him close. "I wish we could just be safe. Wouldn't it be nice to not have to worry?" She frowned and kissed his cheek, just wanting to be held for a little bit.

He remained where he was and didn't hug her back. His mind was polluted with the thought of war and visions he worried about that could be their future. His mind was wondering about the future and all possible scenarios...and not a lot of them looked good, and several of them had either he or Sapphire dying a painful death...though that wasn't a reality and he wouldn't let them die...moreover he wouldn't let Sapphire die. "Yeah...It would be nice not to worry...Listen, you should go check on your chef friend. Put him up onto the crow's nest...if you're able to levitate him that high. He's got a crossbow...he'll be able to scout and shoot from there...but it should be his decision. He'll be too lonely up there without anyone else who would offer to go up with him."

She was getting worried now. He didn't return her embrace, a sure sign that something was going on in that head of his. Uncertain of what he could be thinking, she looked up at him as he started to speak. Frowning, she wondered what he was up to. "What? Are you telling me you want me to go with him?" She asked not understanding what he was saying.

"No. I mean he's disabled. He'll be an easy target if they ever actually get on top of the ship if they raid us. I wanted you to put him on the crow's nest where they'd have to climb the ropes to get to him, and he could easily pick them off with the crossbow I gave him if they come after him. But in exchange for his safety, he'll probably be lonely. I'll try and convince some of the other sailors to lend a hand or two for him up there and keep him company. The crow's nest should be big enough for two or three people."

She frowned, remembering how much his injury was hurting him. Loneliness was probably the last thing he'd care about during a battle though. "All right. I'll go and find him. But what about you?" she asked. "What are you going to do?"

Before I go out finding whats going on, I need to make sure this place is

Nathan looked down to the broken bow. "Well, when we get to the shore, we're going to be wide open with that hole in the bow. But its also an easy access in and out of the ship for us, which is good and bad. I'll need to salvage parts of the ship to create spiked barricades and such to help give us a more defensive base of operations. And just in case the natives have things like ranged weapons, I'll also need to make walls for the sailors to duck behind and such just in case..."

Sapphire watched him for a moment, listening to what he had to say about defenses and strategies. She looked him in the eye as he told her all of this and when he finished, trailing off, she cupped his face in her hands and pulled him into a kiss. After a moment or two she pulled away and smiled softly. "If you die, I will find a way to bring you back so I can kill you myself, you bastard." With that, she left him, heading back up to look for Darian.

Feeling the kiss, Nathan, at least, returned this. Though when she pulled away and she spoke to him, he chuckled. "Yes...alright Sapphire. I'll let you bring me back to life just to kill me...If I should die to the hands of the natives." He looked back to the land that was getting closer and closer to the boat.

Darian was still where he was sitting...holding the crossbow Nathan had dropped onto his lap. He wondered what it was they were heading to to have everyone arm themselves.

When Sapphire Found Darian, she let out a sigh of relief. She came to him quickly and knelt down so she could be on his level. "I have a proposition for you, Darian. It would involve some time by yourself in a very high place. Interested?" she asked, smiling at him. She wasn't sure of his capabilities with the crossbow, but she figured he'd be all right. She wished she could go with him, but she thought that maybe she'd be needed elsewhere. It didn't mean that she couldn't come back for him. "You could bring a friend if you wanted, though."

Darian looked up when he saw Sapphire come in and he smiled weakly to her. "Seems your lover's trying to make sure I'm safe for whatever reason that I need this crossbow..." He said to her lowly before he heard her speak. "A proposition...? Well...if I'm to be alone and have a friend with me...I already know you cannot stay up with me forever, so I ask for you to...go to my room and grab my bird. He is in a cage...so just carry the cage as well as I to wherever you need me to be, then I should be fine. The bird speaks somewhat...so I won't really be alone."

Sapphire frowned and nodded. She wasn't sure why he was so sad. Why he was so bent on staying by himself was beyond her, but she couldn't help but thing this was her fault somehow. She watched him for a moment and then stood. "Wait here. I"ll be right back." With that, she hurried off to his room to find his birdcage. The bird was very cute and pretty, and she wondered if it would be enough company for him, so she told the bird something it could repeat for her friend.

After a moment, she returned to Darian and put the bird in his arms. "Are you sure you just want your feathered friend? There's no one else you want to ask?" She asked, tilting her head.

"The crew on this ship come and go. I don't know any of them...though they're all fine people. Though I doubt any one of them would want to stay alone with this crippled chef and his bird. Polly is my best friend on this ship, she'll be all I need. Though...I do hope you could come visit me sometime, wherever you're taking me. Like I said before...if I could, I would ask you to stay with me where you will keep me alone, but I know that you are needed elsewhere."

She smiled softly at him. "You'll just be up in the crow's nest. Of course I'll come back for you. What kind of friend do you think I am?" she asked, smiling, though for some reason, this made her heart ache for him. "Don't worry. I'll come and visit you for sure." She smiled and kissed his cheek. "Hold on tight to Polly. You'll see what it's like to fly." That said she stepped away and chanted a spell under her breath, lifting him up all the way to the crow's nest, going fairly slowly. When he was there, she hopped on her broom and floated up to him. "Comfy?" she asked.
