A new love (Burning Amber x Me)

"Ummmm...ok Katie" he said still confused but smiling as she smiled and stuck her tongue out at him. He wasn't even thinking of her as him mom was acting more like a much younger version of herself. While she ended conversation on the topic his mind still thought of how she would surprise him coming up with a few ideas nearly all the others in the restaurant would frown on if they knew their relationship.

Taking another sip from his tea he looked into her eyes and smiled. "So did you want to go do anything else after dinner?" Derran asked wondering if she'd want to go out dancing maybe or something else before going home.
 
She couldn't help but laugh at her son's confusion. It was so cute to see those expressions on his face. The more she talked to him, the more she started be behave like herself, the more she forgot that he was her son. It was like she really was on a date with a guy, or at least in her mind. Her eyes lit up as she heard his question. "Yes!" She said happily, pausing then to actually think of something they could do together.

After a moment, Katie looked into his eyes curiously. "Did you have something in mind?" There were so many things that she wanted to do. In fact, she didn't want the night to end anytime soon. She really didn't care what they went and did after the meal as long as they did it together and had fun with it.
 
Looking across the table at her he grinned as she laughed. He thought for a minute before responding to her question. "Well we could go dancing or a movie" Picking up his tea he sipped it slowly his eyes shining happily. Derran was having the best date he'd been on and was having trouble believing it. "So which would you rather do Katie?" he asked setting his drink down. He played with his glass tracing designs in the condensation.
 
Her eyes lit up for pretty much the hundredth time that night. Both options seemed to be very fun. The movie would be nice, but she would rather spend it laughing and having fun with him than sitting in a dark room and silent. "Dancing. Definitely dancing." That would also help her burn off some of the excitement and energy that was filling her. Her eyes then flickered to the waitress that was returning to their table with their food. "If you think you can handle it." Katie teased.
 
Grinning as Katie said she wanted to go dancing and teased him Derran was thinking of his average dancing ability. Shrugging it off he winked across the table at her. "Oh I can handle anything you got" he replied looking up to see the waitress arriving with their food. As she set the plates down in front of them he looked at both his mouth watering. "It looks delicious..thank you"
 
"I hope so." Grinning, she retorted as the waitress started to set their food out. It really did look absolutely delicious, mouth watering really. "Yes, thank you very much." Her eyes looked at not only how yummy it looked, but how beautifully it was plated. Once the waitress left, Katie took a bite slowly. "So.. good.."
 
Waiting for Katie to taste her food first Derran smiled as she took a bite. Taking a bite of his chicken his mouth filled with the great taste. "It's very good" he said smiling at her as he swallowed. Watching the look on her face as she ate he chuckled at the pleased look on her face. "Enjoying it are you?"
