Shadow Games: for Silvermyst & Friend

Elie groaned a few hours later as she started to come too. She blinked as she looked around, "Masaki?" She croaked out before coughing a bit. She slowly started to try and sit up. One hand moved to her head, pounding from a headache.

"Don't try to move too much. The drug I forced down your throat while you were out will make you groggy, but at least you'll live. I hate to say this, but you will have to get out of bed and pack up your things. This place is no longer safe." Masaki replied without looking at her, his eyes fixed on the world beyond.

"You're also going to hate me for this, but we need a place to hide for a short while. I need to find a good place to set up a new home, but until then, you're old home, with your parents, is our best hiding spot. The man hunting me will want to kill you afterwords, but he needs to find us first. You're folks place will serve as a good stop gap until something more suitable comes along." He added as his hand rubbed his eyes.

Elie nodded, "I understand. You said I would be safe here. So, you now longer get to pick where we go. My parents would not be safe. My parents are drunks who can't keep their mouths shut. I know a much nicer and much better place." She commented through winces as she got up and began to pack. She was limping on a leg that was purposely wounded to make it hard for her to walk. She pulled out her laptop and get a address off it. She wrote it on a piece of paper and handed it to him. "Here. This is where we are going. I have a secret life. One I didn't let anyone know about. For one. My father. Is not my father. Not even he knows. My birth certificate says it is him, but it is not. So, ready?" She had it all packed in ten minutes.

Masaki merely blinked as Elie spoke to him. He had thought she was devoid of making decisions; had thought she had already been broken of her will and submitted to his desires. It appeared that he was wrong, and, in this case, was actually glad for that. Taking the slip of paper she had given him, he memorized it and then proceeded to swallow it right in front of her.

"I can't take the chance that this man hunting me will find the address." He said simply as he quickly chewed it up. Taking one last look around at the container, he nodded solemnly, gathered up a bag that held everything he wished to take and then led them both out side. Once safely in the open, he shut the door on the metal box before pulling a detonator out from his jacket pocket. A single button press later and Elie's ears were treated to a muffled boom.

"The fire will take care of the rest. I hope this 'secret life' of yours carries your scent. The reason I wanted to go to your parents place was it already smells like you and me. Your parents themselves can be disposed of very easily." Masaki said as his arms wrapped around Elie's body. "Don't let go." He added as he basically fell into a nearby shadow, pulling her with him.

Elie looked at him, "No need to worry. The woods will mask our scent. I hope you do not mind high security." She said as she walked with him. She jumped at the explosion. Elie looked at him as he told her to hold on. She nodded and held tight to him.

They would arrive at a large gate with a security pad. Elie put her thumb to the pad and the gate opened. She walked down the long driveway to a two story house right on a small lake. It was a colonial style house. An elderly man came out to greet them. "Masaki, this is George. He can be trusted. He has been working for my father for twenty years and now he works for me. He is one of my best friends." George took Elie's things from her. She turned away from him and headed inside to set up her computer. "There is no internet or phone. George has the only cell phone for emergencies. Look. It is bigger than the other house, but it only has two rooms. Ours and George's. Ours is upstairs with a great view of the lake and George's is downstairs by the kitchen. He lives here. He has a girlfriend stays here from time to time, but mostly he goes over to her house. I can show you the security room and set you up with it so you can get into the house and other security places. The basement has a bunch of weapons that my father collected. Feel free to use them. This is our house now. So, all of this is yours now I guess with our situation." She stopped talking as George walked through to the kitchen. "I will make lunch, Elie." Elie nodded, "Thank you, Georgie." SHe looked back to Masaki. "So, is this place good?"

Masaki didn't say anything as Elie and this man named George led him around this out-of-the-way house. He looked everything, taking in the feel of the place before finally speaking. "It's very suitable." He said simply, nodding to himself that the forest would provide excellent cover and a much wider training area. The amount of security that was here didn't scare him in the least: the man after them was trained like him, and thus could get past whatever had been put in place. Still, he did admit it was a step up; and any weapons they had would allow Elie to hold the bastard off a bit better.

"Take me to this security room you mentioned, and then we should go to our room. I'd like to see it's angles and how much space I truly have to work with. After that, we need to get you cleaned up and re-bandaged." Masaki said as he turned his gaze from the house to Elie, waiting for her to show him the entire lay out of the place.

Elie nodded as she led him to the basement. She put in a code at the door, she allowed him to see the code. She went in. Weapons of all kinds lined the walls. She led him to a computer with screens filled with video of all that was around the house. She began to set him up with security clearance just like hers. She looked up at him and scanned his thumb print. "There all done." She turned to lead him to their room.

Masaki let Elie show him around and set him up in the houses security system; saying nothing to her the entire time. His eyes watched the monitors that were installed. So far, the woods were free of his new enemy, but Masaki felt that could only last for so long. At Elie's word, he followed her back to the half of the house that was for them.

"Everything looks to be suitable. But you need to have your bandages changed. I grabbed a few herbs that shall help with the healing process, but you need to get undressed first." He finally said as he walked over to her and pulled a small bag out from his shirt pocket. "Get cleaned up then come back here so I can apply the medicine to your wounds." He added before moving to look out a bay window.

Elie nodded as she limped into large bathroom that had both a walk in shower and a large bath. She stripped and got herself a black nightgown. She didn't put it on. She just washed herself off. She walked back into the room. She sat down on the bed and avoided looking at him. She was in pain and upset at him. He lied to her and said she would be safe with him not almost raped by a pervert ninja. She waited for him to look over her wounds.

Masaki walked over to the bed and knelt down beside Elie, the medicine bag he had resting on the bed next to her. Opening the bad, he pulled out a vial that looked to hold something close to vaseline. Gently, he began to apply the gel to her body, covering all the cuts she carried, his eyes staying away from hers.

"This should help you heal faster than normal." He said as his hands worked her body. "You can talk to me about what happened back there you know. And before you ask, I can't ready your mind; just your face." He added, his cold eyes turning now to face her directly.

Elie sat there and let him work on her wounds as she stared out the window. She was slightly as she felt the medicine being applied. She only shivered once as she felt the coldness of the medicine.

She didn't look at him as he spoke to her. His words registered, but she said nothing at first. She kept looking at the window as she spoke. "I do not wish to talk about it. There nothing to say. You told me I would be safe and the second time you leave a strange man comes in, cuts me, beats me, and sexually assualts me. So, you can not be trusted. Are you done?"

Masaki's hands finished applying the medicine to her body before he replied to her statement. "First," he said, his fingers counting out every comeback he was going to give her, "I never said that you would be safe. I said that you would be as safe there as any where else. One can never know what is going to happen. You can be driving along, minding your own business, and another car and slam into you, or a bomb can go off in the middle of the road, and you die through no fault of your own.

Second, I never said that you should trust me. Only that you are to obey me. It was unfortuate that you got caught in the cross fire of this....situation, but you should understand that if it wasn't you, it would have been someone else that he attacked. You should also know that he will be back, and thus you should prepare yourself for him.

Third, you seem to have forgotten that you belong to me. If I wish you to talk about what happen, you will talk about it. After we finish speaking, I desire your body again. Don't try to refuse, or try to tell your friend about what's going on. Not only would he be unable to help you, you wouldn't want to put his life in danger." He said, standing up from the floor, his eyes never leaving her body.

Elie slowly looked at him, fire burning in her eyes. "I never said I was going to stop obeying you, but I thought you would atleast protect and keep safe the ass your fucking, but I guess that is all I am, the ass your fucking. What does it matter if another comes in and rapes me. You can just replace me." He pulled on her night gown. "I never asked for this, but I am behaving. I just didn't know I was some whore for anyone to use. Perhaps I should go with you on your missions and let the targets fuck me to distract them for you." she moved towards the door, "I think I deserve a night of peace from you." She opened the door, "I will sleep in the guest room." She slammed the door.

Masaki was left dumbfounded by Elie's sudden emotional out burst. At first he thought to go after her and force her to satisfy him, but his mind shot down that idea. Remembering that she had been through a fair bit for the day, Masaki conceeded to leave her alone for the night. Pulling himself up off the bed, Masaki moved to look out the window.

His eyes scanned the trees for any hint of the man now hunting them, but for the time being, the forest was quiet. His mind tried to understand Elie's feelings, but found it hard to do so. After all, he had been raised to ignore pain and suffering from everyone, including himself. Letting out a short sigh, Masaki returned to the bed and prepared to rest for the evening. Come morning, he would seek out Elie again, and they would have to reach and understanding.

Elie laid in the bed in the guest room. Tears fell silently down her face as she starred up at the ceiling for a few hours before falling to a restless sleep.

She woke the next morning with her body aching in pain. Getting up she showered and dressed before taking medicine. She went downstairs and started to make them breakfast that consisted of French toast, eggs of all kinds, and bacon. She served up plates for them all and set the table. She sat down and at in silence while staring out at the lake.

Masaki slept much better than Elie, coming down the stairs to the meal looking like he had just been handed the world to play with. Looking over the table, he blatantly took a seat next to her an started to eat.

"After we eat, you should show me around a bit more. I need t know these woods as well as you so that when that man returns, I can cut out his heart and present it to you." He said a second before forcing a big pile of eggs into his mouth.

"Fine." She said without looking at him. She finished and got up to start clearing the table. She did the dishes and and went to put her shoes on. She returned with her walking shoes on. "I will be down at the dock. So, when you are ready just come down. The lands are large, just so you are aware." She walked out of the door and walked down to the dock and sat down on a lawn chair.

Masaki nodded his head once to Elie, knowing that nothing else could be said for the time being. He leisurely enjoyed the rest of the meal, eating his fill before cleaning away his plate. He didn't hurry down to the dock, strolling along at a steady pace so that the man named George wouldn't think anything was wrong. When he arrived, he saw Elie trying to relax in the chair, her eyes looking out over the water.

"Tell me about your father." He said suddenly, his eyes looking at the woods as he spoke. "It must be odd, being raised by a man that wasn't your father and didn't know about it. How did your mother meet him, and why didn't she stay with him? It looks like he was better off than your other father."

"He was better off, but that came after she left him. He was smart and kind, but she believed he was going no where so she stole me away in the dead of night and sent divorce papers. He fought, but she made up lies. She won custody of me. I never knew about him until after he got rich and used a private dectective to find me. In secret we got to know each other. He was a great father. He died of cancer two years ago. This is all mine now. He loved the water and the forest. This whole lake belongs to me and about a mile around." She got up, "Come on." She head down the dock into the woods.

Masaki followed as Elie lead him away from the dock. "Sounds like your mother was a gold digger. Surprising that she didn't leave your step-father. From the looks of things at your home, he wasn't going any where either." He said as they entered the outer most edge of the woods. "It will be helpful to have this much space, and no witnesses for when that man returns. I'll be unable to leave until he does attack again; last time was lucky for both of us." He added, his eyes staying away from her face for the time being.

Elie nodded at him, "My friend can get anythin you need just make a list." She stopped as they got quite a ways from the house. She looked at him as she turned to face him, "Do you even care about what happens to me?"

His face turned back to look Elie dead center. "I've been trained to not care about anyone; myself included. Pain and suffering were seen as distractions from getting the job done. If anyone witnessed me in the act, I was supposed to kill them as well as the target. Despite that, I decided to break my training and let you live. When that man attacked us in the city, I could have just blown up my home, killing you both. Instead, I challanged him, and managed to get him away from you so you wouldn't be hurt." Masaki said, his eyes looking straight into Elie's as he finished speaking.

"What about you? Do you even care what happens to me? If I die, you could try and have a normal life again. Tho I do think you should have moved out of your parents place a long time ago and come here. I'm sure you could study with a mail in program of some kind."

Elie looked at him as he yelled at her, "You only did all that because you like fucking me. I care about you. I think you are kind deep down, but I am not sure anymore. I brought us here for not just my safety but yours. You wouldnt have to worry as much, but whatever. Next time just blow me. Replace me if I am such a damn bother." She spun on her heels and started to head back.

Masaki's hand shot out and grabbed Elie's arm so fast that she wouldn't have been able to see it. Without saying a word, he pulled her back towards him and moved to take hold of her hand. Staying quiet, he brought her hand up under his shirt, letting her feel his bare chest, but more importantly, letting her feel each scar he held. Slowly, he began to run her hand along a long thin one next to his heart.

"My father gave me that one when I was eight. After he killed my mother right in front of me. He then told me the reason he did these things was so I would have nothing tying me down in this world. 'Attachment is a weapon that your enemies can use against you.' Those were his words. So you will have to forgive me if I'm unaccustomed to the idea of trusting in others and speaking my mind." He said lightly, his hand leaving hers and thus letting Elie do what she wanted.

Elie stood there staring at him as he ran her hand over his scar and told her about his past. Sadness filled her eyes as she listened to him. "Thank you for telling me about your past. I understand you a bit more, but Masaki, you brought me into all this. I am trying to understand it and be better at helping you in ways that I can. You have to trust me. I am not going to hurt you, not like I can, but I need to be able to trust you to not let me die or have someone abuse me. I get enough of that from you." She slipped her hand over his chest. "I am starting to adjust to this new life and to you, so please just cut me a little slack." She leaned up to him and pressed her lips to his in a soft kiss. She pulled back and smiled at him, "Come here. I wanna show the spot with the best view." She took his hand and lead him through the woods. It was a bit of a hick through the woods up to a higher part of the lake. She stopped and showed him a view of the mountains in the distance in front of her home. "There is our house and the mountains. I kind of wish the house was here."
